Ack! I mourn with you, my friend! Weeks and weeks without mashed potatoes? What a cruel world! What sort of blue Christmas will you have with no gingerbread? Oh, the humanity!

Thank you. I just wanted some validation.

Good bye Apple Pie ala Mode.

Farewell Hot Cocoa with marshmallows and a candy-cane.

Hasta la vista Roll Out Sugar Cookies with Holiday Sprinkles.

Sigh.

Parting is such sweet sorrow. Even the quotes have sugar in them. :sad2:

Marita--- does that mean your surgery is next week?

Monday, Nab. :yay::scared1:

Twinky, BigL and LittleL, thanks for the frenzy, LOL

Twinks, I read somewhere today that your diet keeps you in a better mood than the other one. Even dug out the paper from the recycle bin (it was on top) but could find it. Just trying to make sure I didn't have my diets mixed up. But since I could't find the article, just go with my lousy memory.....
So just think, you could be in a much fouler mood than you will be.

You are welcome for this useful post :)

Oh but I am. Also I only barely passed the glucose tolerance test. I don't have gestational diabetes but I do have what my dr calls "glucose intolerance"... so now I am in a very low carb, high protein world. It TOTALLY STINKs. For me. I know I am healthy and this isn't permanent and it is really no big deal but I am kind of in mourning for normal foods like toast and gingerbread and wheat thins.
TWINK! I can totally relate to how you're feeling! However, I have been having a little dark chocolate (and jelly bellies from my recent trip to Wisconsin, Land o' Cheese) lately. There are some great low carb recipes on theworldaccordingtoeggface blog. Check it out. Seriously. Especially look for the "Bites" recipes. These are crustless mini quiches that you bake in a mini muffin tin. Totally yummy and guilt-free. I heartily recommend the Philly steak and pizza bites. I made the pizza ones with turkey pepperoni and you could not tell the difference between that and regular pepperoni. Of course, that wouldn't be the best thing to eat if you're faaar enough along to be having heartburn :flower3:

Marita and Nabbie - I have really been having fun setting up my new phone :goodvibes That's why I've been MIA yesterday and today.

Marita - Wow, your one eye will be goog as new by this time next week
:thumbsup2

Nabbie - Hope you get to feeling better PDQ

Peej - Loved your rumspringa-ish pics over yonder!!! Especially the bonnet and apron ones :lmao: Sounds like you had a happy "vegetarians" day :) I didn't watch the CMAs or SNL, but I think I'll check them out this weekend if they're both still available on-line.

Pumba - Congrats to your niece :cutie: And I'm sending prayers for your friend.

Lynette - Sending prayers for your friend's dad also. My new phone is not a Blackberry. Several of my coworkers have them and they can't get their work e-mail directly on them, they have to rig up a gmail account to be able to read their e-mails. I upgraded to the HTC Eris version of the Droid smartphone. The phone I had was an HTC Pocket PC (smartphone), but this new one will interface better with my Mac. So far, I really, really like it! The only thing I'm still trying to figure out is whether there is a way to get threads on the Dis to automagically update instead of having to re-bookmark it all the time. Maybe I should PM RobIn to see if he knows if this is doable . . .

bbn - Hope things are going OK with your mom :grouphug:

Howdy to everybody else!

Twinkie-- I feel your pain too. I did have gestational diabetes with Nicholas. It was hard. I couldn't even drink all the milk I wanted too. But I did lose 8 pounds on the diet. Didn't harm Nicholas one bit....:lmao: He still was 9lbs 10.

Marita-- That is good news, I didn't realize it was so soon.

Lynette -- nice to see you back and having a mini posting frenzy...it had been a long time that we have had one on our thread. Everyone is so busy these days.

P.J-- cute picture yonder way. For a minute I thought you took your class to see the pioneers, we did that last year with Hannah's class this year it is Medevil Times.

Prayers and Pixie Dust to the ones that need it. I always pray for you all on Sunday anyway...to keep you safe and healthy.

Uh thanks? I'll be sure to tell my husband that I could be in a much fouler mood. :rotfl:
I think I may be a tad addicted to carbs. I am really bummed. However, it the couple of days of this I do feel better in some other ways- alot less heartburn for one. I think it is because I am just not eating as much. Oh well.

Thanks Moo! That post was very helpful :) I will check out that blog. That is the challenge- finding something I want to eat that is legal. Plus being good while I hand out all sorts of wonderful things to my family. He even told me to limit my fresh fruit consumption.

Thanks Nab. I have always thought gestational diabetes would be awful. You had it with Nicholas and not with Hannah? I would rather not even have a 9 lb baby. My biggest so far was 7 lb even. This baby is measuring ahead of dates which I have never had before so I am sure my new diet will be a healthy choice for both of us. I do want you all to savor and enjoy the holiday goodies for me!

Hi everybody else! I am just now finishing up my to-do list from Monday.

Sugar Free Dreck N Drivel! Just what the doctor ordered!

Hi everybodee.

Moo, ty. I'm going to lunch with my mom today. We have lots to talk about.

Y'all have a nice weekend. I'll be birthing babies all day Sat and Sun.

Hello all you moovers!

I took the day off.
I'm paying some bills.
maybe gonna do some homework. maybe not. :rolleyes1

I agreed to go halfway to nashville to meet some coworkers for lunch.
at least it will get me out of my pajamas!

Twinkie-- Yes I only had it with Nicholas and not Hannah. They did watch for it though because they said if you get it for the first it will be there for the second. :confused3 I had lots of ups and downs with Nicholas though, Hannah was smooth sailing.

Celery-- I am home everyday but I sure don't clean everyday...: I just do enough picking up so it looks like I have :rotfl: Mind you I need to do a good clean up so I can get my Christmas stuff out.

Speaking of p.j's Hannah got to go to school in hers today , she thought that was cool. I have to pick up Nicholas from school today too because he is bring the tuba home to practice. Wonder how heavy that thing is in a case? Better clean out the car trunk too.

My DD called from Detroit today, waiting for a plane to Boston.

Why you ask? (as did I).

Remember a couple of months ago we went to see "Fiddler on the Roof"?

Well, apparently some days after that, DD met the actor that plays the Rabbi's son through some friends. They went on a date, then he moved on with the show to Miami.

Fast forward to today, he said he wanted to see her and sent her plane ticket to Boston! :scared::eek::faint:

Well, at least he is touring with TOPOL, so he must have some talent...

well lilly~j., ...iam only repeating what is self evident, :thumbsup2

...oh, backie....our lil'german nurse..is heading home! she is very excited.

morning everyone.

Today is overcast and yucky out.....not raining yet....but pretty close to it...I decided to sleep in and NOT go hunting with hubby and our son.....Our son goes (even though he got his deer) to make sure his daddy is okey out in the woods alone.....NO one should go hunting alone...scares me to pieces......so last week when I went with hubby.......our son came here and babysat Megara .....cause she still was on her antibiotics for her ruptured eardrum and I didnt want to leave her alone.....
Our son is such a good kid.....His birthday is in a few weeks and he will be 40 years old....I just cant believe it.....This bundle of joy has been such a great son......and I just get misty eyed when I think back to all these wonderful years with him and his sister...
We are very fortunate as I do hear people saying how they are glad that their kids are out of the house.....We always have said how great these kids are. And how lucky we have been.. Enough of that or else I will sniffle more.

I have an out of control dog here right now.....someone parked their car near our house and their dog is barking in that car....and OUR dog is screaming (dog screaming)......

Have a great weekend all......and behave yourselves

Marita You never know where Mr. Right will be. I hope to be on line more in the future. I have moved my computer to my "apartment" I have my bedroom redone and I have throwed a lot of stuff out. I have my tv and computer in my room and I can lock my door. Wohooo
I need to read back.Hope everyone is well and having a wonderful day.

It's another GORGEOUS day here in Michigan! A friend and I are out doing some shopping. I've picked up some Christmas gifts and we sampled and bought some tea at Teavana. Yum. Next up, grocery shopping at Whole Foods and maybe Trader Joe's.

Nice day here too Moo.

We went out shopping for skates for Hannah and snowboard stuff for Nicholas. The sport store had a great sale on this weekend.

Just finished watching the Hannah Montana Movie, kept thinking of Celery during this movie. Hubby and Nicholas are watching GI Joe right now. Then I am going to watch Orphan when Nicholas goes to bed.

Marita-- why is your DD in Detroit? She flew there to fly to Boston?

I am with Celemama you can meet people in the darnest places. I read on the web that Carrie Underwood is moving to Canada. She dates a hockey player that plays on the Ottawa team but lives close to me.....maybe I will see her sometime. :rotfl:

Oh shoot......now I know why we are all rainy and yucky out.......some dang hurricane wanted to visit the coastal states......anyone else soaking wet.

Had a hard time ENCOURAGING the doggie to go out and pee......she wasnt going to do it and FINALLY I stood my ground.(although wet), and she went pee pee......she was soaking wet and we had to use two towels to dry her off.....she then commenced to tearing one apart thinking it was a great game...

My youngest grandson has the piggy flu and was so upset that he couldnt go to school on Thursday cause it was the sixty day ......Hero zero......beats me what it is but it is something......He has had a fever off and on since Wednesday.....hopefully he will be able to rejoin the Kindergarten class on Monday...two or three schools are closed because of so many students and most of the teachers are out.....16 teachers at one school.

Celery....My most favorite item from Pampered chef is definitely my chopper....it is an important part of my soup I make.......the kiddos do not like to see carrots or onions and I can chop them up so good they dont know what hit them....I LOVE IT......and most pampered chef items have the best guarantees around.....gotta love a company that stands behind their products......

Marita-- why is your DD in Detroit? She flew there to fly to Boston?

Yes, she was.

Great day here too today, 70's and not a cloud in the sky.

DH went bed shopping today to transform DD's old room into a guest room (well, a bed with workout equipment, LOL).

Started off at the Murphy bed store and pondered a $3,000 bed :scared1:

I voted for looking at sofa beds, and we found a queen size one for $500 that I like a lot. I really want a queen size (planning ahead, LOL), but not sure it will fit between the door jam and the closet that is jutting out. DH is going to talk to them Monday to see.. If not, I think we are going to just get a full size futon.
DH had plans to pressure clean the outside of the house today, and I was going to clear out (or at least start) the room, but after our 3 hour trip, neither one of us felt like doing anything :sad2:

Went to get my nails done today at 4:30. This should take no more than 1 hour, MAX, but the woman today took forever..... At 5:15, I asked her if she could please finish in 20 minutes, she was still far away. I told her I need to leave before dark. She says, yes, I dont like to drive in the dark either. I told her, you dont understand, I CAN'T SEE! She finally picked up the pace and I got home in the knick of time. 1 more day!! I sure hope this operation works...

Celmama, glad you will have more time to visit here, it's been kind of slow lately..

I miss Celery, she has been very scarce lately.

Pumba, that sickness going around sounds scary. Hope your grandson feel better soon to partake in adventure.

I'm around, Marita!
Still reading.
Just not a lot to say. :)
I baked my first cake for sell today! woo!
I've got to deliver it in an hour and a half or so.

Hey, THAT is something to say!

What kind? Pictures????? popcorn::

We still have not started on clearing out DD's room, and it;s a formidable task. After today, I can't do any bending or lifting for awhile, so that means DH has to do it all

Off to the grocery store after I call mom.

I'm getting nervous...

Way to go, Cel!

Marita - Don't get too nervous. I'm sure they will have some good meds to help you through it!!!

Maita-- you will be fine , what time is your surgery tomorrow?

I hear you on needing to clean out a room but not getting much done....I have hubby going though a few boxes in the living room. It is taking forever to do one box and he wants to keep everything.....:sad2: All he gave me so far was two empty shopping bags with one old Christmas light in it and a string. :confused3 Then I have Hannah going though my garage sale/goodwill boxes and playing with old toys. I will never be done.

Celery-- yes what kind of cake did you make and for what, a birthday or maybe a shower?
