I just got out of bed now....Hannah game in about 7:30 and asked if they could have a poptart for breakfast. Sure you can then I don't have to get up. :rotfl2:

My computer was not co operating last night so I watched the hockey game with hubby. Nicholas was happy his team won.

I think we are going to look at fireplace mantels today, flooring and vanities for the small washroom downstairs. I am sure the kids will be thrilled but it's got to be done.

Then there is a Ribfest going on all weekend at the ballpark/arena so we will go there tonight for dinner. They have music all day, stuff for the kids and of course lots of different flavoured ribs from down South....

Marita-- I would show you pictures for cabbage rolls. I only made them once and will never make them again. Lots of work and no one liked them because they were hard...:lmao: And yes I cooked the cabbage but I guess not long enough.

Testing 123....:)
Coming to you LIVE from my new toy....my ITouch!!!! :)

sounds like a nice weekend, Nabbie

I need to peel myself off the couch and go to the store and also get my nails done (ughhh!) Tomorrow I have a call scheduled with my mom at 1 pm, we settled on a set time.

Cabbage rolls are a pain in the B u T T. but the kids like them. See my second tag, DS wanted them just before he left for basic training. I couldn't fine the metal spikes to hold them togheter, so I used toothpicks instead.

OK, I better get going. 7 AM and I are not great friends, so I better get stuff done before I crash............

You're a good mama Marita!

Ha, my daughter would argue that. Remains to be seen if I actually make cabbage rolls.

Frigging phone line for the nail place is busy. Dont they know there is a recession and nobody is supposed to get nails done?

ETA: Just got back from the grocery store and couldn't find my list.

Guess what I forgot to get Yep, the cabbage and ground beef. No cabbage rolls tomorrow unless I get huge lift in grocery shopping desire. Fat chance for that. Chicken a la King today, i'll save some for DD. BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT, I found pins so I can count the chains for the afghan.

ETA: (cause I dont want to look like a post hog). Back from getting nails done. Now I'm tired. Not cooking dinner today, it's fend for yourself night

Peej - I'm happy to hear you made it down to Florida OK :grouphug: Hope the car is OK and you didn't have any more Clem-like experiences ;)

Belated Happy Anniversary, Lynette!!! Did you have a nice dinner? I was able to get the updated Adobe Flash uploaded after several tries. I had to uninstall the old version before I could finally get it to work. Maybe I needed the update because I have a Mac :confused3

Allie
- w00t on your new iTouch!

Sending hellos to everyone else because I need to head out to a graduation open house. It's not too nice out there right now, but maybe the rain will hold off. I'll check back in this evening.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LYNETTE AND MR LYNETTE!!!

A kid free night sounds great. Where do I get one of those....

Thanks, NAB! We scooted over to the mall to get ourselves iPhones (our gifts to each other, since we needed new phones anyway), and then enjoyed a lovely, leisurely dinner. Aaaaah.

As I mentioned in my post yesterpage, I only get about one kid-free night every six months, so I'm not really the person to ask. :lmao:

I had a delish chicken saltimbocca with grilled vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes, and DH had homemade fusilli with shrimp and asparagus. So nice to look at a menu that doesn't feature a kid's toy. The restaurant we went to had live music last night, so that was fun too.

Today, we went Monster Golfing for my cousin's son's b-day. Then DH and Boris left for the Cub Scouts' School's Out Campout. So Natasha and I went for a schmai through the mall and had dinner at Rainforest Cafe. She's so tired from all the running around we've been doing lately that she decided to go upstairs early tonight. That means that I have some time to do absolutely nothing! w00t!

Lynette - Sounds like you're having a fabtastic weekend! How do you like the iPhone so far?

I've only had saltimbocca once, but I think it was made with veal.

At the graduation open house that I went to today, they had a yummy salad with broccoli florets, shredded cheese, onion, bacon, raisins, sunflower seeds, and a smidge of red pepper. I think it had mayo mixed in, but it wasn't drowning in it. SO good. I'm glad I can eat a few veggies and fruit again.

I LOVE my iPhone so far! I haven't added anything but free apps so far, because I'm still really just poking around. I did take some recommendations from my co-worker....so far, so good.

I've had veal saltimbocca too, but I prefer the chicken. I even indulged in a chocolate martini at dinner last night. Yum!

DS goes on his mission trip at the end of July, so there will be lots of prep work for that.

I had to have my finger put in a splint yesterday. Injured it during Field Day back in April, but while at my parent's, it started to bulge at the knuckle and have a bruising look to it. Ok, that was like a MONTH after I hurt it. :confused3 Anyway, it just hasn't looked right, so the Ortho. dr. put it in a splint to hyperextend it, so that it will straighten out. I can still raft with it though. :yay::cheer2: I always go white water rafting with DS and the church kids around the 4th of July. Although it's a pain to type with, but I'm getting better. ::yes::

Peej - That sounds like some brutal hours, but mucho $$$$
Where's he going? Bummer about your finger. Hope it gets to feeling better asap!

Yeah, you know me, always rolling in the money.

Several of our kids at camp had specially made blankets. When you're on hemo dialysis, you get very cold. It's always a constant battle between the staff and patients.
The staff is hot from running around taking care of the patients.
The patients are freezing from having blood sucked out and losing between 2 and 4 kg of fluid over a few hours.

sorry.
rambling. :)
Rambling? Sheesh. That's just absurd. I never do that. :snooty:

PJ you snuck in!! Thanks for the informative post! :thumbsup2 Of course I havent eaten at Chef Mickey's since welll maybe 15 years!! :rotfl2: Maybe I should try it again? :confused3 I did enjoy looking at TR with people at the plate!!

:scared1: WHAT a trip you must've had!! Glad you made it safe!! (you are safe right?!!)
Yeah sure, try it again. You'd best hurry on down if you plan on stalking me. ;)

And yes, we're perfectly fine. The story goes like this. Hollywood was pumping gas so I went inside to get a drink. I came back out and she was pacing in front of the door like a spaz. I asked her what was wrong and she told me she wrecked my car. I was like whaaaaat????? So what happened is that as she was pulling away from the pump to pull into a spot so she could come inside she hit a pole. Okay, you would think that doesn't sound too bad, right? Well, after she hit said pole she proceeded to keep driving scraping the pole along the entire passenger side of the car.

The passenger side doors are both completely scraped up and also very dented. You might think she would have stopped after hitting the pole, but if you were to think that you clearly haven't met my sister. I can't even begin to count the silly things she's done while driving. I think there might be an excerpt in the hotT college chick TR about Hollywood's driving. Long story short, no one has the money to fix the car so I look ghetto-tastic driving it around.

Blue napkins and a new plate, eh? I think I need a trip to the World to see for myself! That's a perfectly good reason to travel to Florida, right?

One of my cousins just got back from WDW last week. While he was there, he and his wife bought DVC. They bought at the Contemporary. He was so excited that he called me in the midst of his trip to tell me all about it. *sigh*
Happy belated anniversary, Lynette! :flower3:
That is beyond reasonable! I need you to come here in, oh, say about 2 weeks? See you then!

The DVC at the Contemporary makes the old tower look so OLD! It's so new and pretty! I can't wait to see the inside of it. Surely your cousins owning DVC is a good thing. Let's ponder how you can get something out of this. :scratchin

P.J.-- you sound like you had quite the trip to Florida. I think we need more details about the car and the hitting a pole. You are going to be some busy for awhile. Hope you manage to have some fun there.
Thanks, Nab. We have loads and loads of fun at the restaurant every night. :lmao: Hollywood and I are going to MGM tomorrow before I have to work at 4 so we'll have some fun then. Apparently it's Star Wars weekend. Hollywood is secretly obsessed with Star Wars. I, on the other hand, am looking forward to observing all the Star Wars freaks.

Testing 123....:)
Coming to you LIVE from my new toy....my ITouch!!!! :)
oooohhhhhh fancy!!!!

Peej - I'm happy to hear you made it down to Florida OK :grouphug: Hope the car is OK and you didn't have any more Clem-like experiences ;)
HA! No, unfortunately (fortunately?) we didn't get to involve Clem this time.

I'm doing front slip stichtes on the afhan I will never finish
Come again?
p.s. do you know anything about cast dining reservations on the hub? They were talking about it in our pre shift notes tonight but I can't seem to find the link. I want to try it out!

Tonight was decent. They fed us at the end of the night, so that's always good. I mean, how can a night that ends in Mickey shaped ravioli be bad? ;)

Night, all.
:grouphug:

Ooh, I forgot to comment on Bay Lake Tower earlier! There are lots of photos posted in various places these days. I wish our trip were a little closer.

Peej - You and Hollywood should see if you can stay there when they're doing the dry run!!! I've heard that they have cast members stay before it officially opens.

Lynette - Maybe you can mooch some points or see if they'd get a 2 bedroom and invite your family. I am already wishing I'd bought more points. But the payments are painful enough already. Maybe when my car is paid off early next year :rolleyes1

That would pretty much be awesome. I know they're having an open house for cast members but it's July 23 or something and I leave here to go to the beach July 17. Every day when I walk into work there's housekeeping cast members out on the balconies wiping down railings and whatnot. Guess that's a pretty big job!

Okay, I need to go to bed. Apparently Hollywood is dragging my astarstar to some class at the gym at 8am before we go to MGM. Whatev!

Hey Moo,

usually the only CM's that can stay for free anymore are from Disnwy Res Center, so they can sell them better. So chances for PJ are slim to none for that. Me too.

OK, I give up pon the afghan, at least for tonight. Tooo comlicated. Back yo my dryer cover, simp;e stitch. I should be ine bed. Shortly, watching end of Divorce Court.

lynette - What's monster golf? Is haunted mansion any good? I've never seen it.

martia - peej asked you a question about hub dining reservations. Now I want to know what she's talking about.

hi all!

Marita - I figured it might be something like that.

Peej - Too bad you'll be missing the open house, but going to the beach sounds even better!!!

I'm hoping to get over to Lake Michigan on one of my furlough Fridays. If it ever warms up enough. Looks like it's in the 70s today . . . FINALLY! :sunny:

p.s. do you know anything about cast dining reservations on the hub? They were talking about it in our pre shift notes tonight but I can't seem to find the link. I want to try it out!

Peej, it's on the cast portal und Disney Difference. I dont think you can do it just over regular internet, you have to be in the portal.

1. Happy belated anniversary, Lynette! :flower3:
That is beyond reasonable! I need you to come here in, oh, say about 2 weeks? See you then!

1. Thanks, Peej! I'll advise the DH that you need us at the World at the end of the month. I'm sure he'll be fine with that.

2. Well, as it happens, this particular cousin is the one who shows up for EVERY event at my house. He has only one child, a 5yo son, so he likes to come here to give his son a chance to interact with my kids and my brother's (since he seems to be here all the time too). In fact, my cousin and his family were here for my Memorial Day cookout, and his wife and I were discussing DVC. When he called from WDW to tell me about his purchase, he suggested that my family and his plan a trip for early next summer. I know he's hoping that Mr. Lalijack will want to buy DVC too.

Lynette - Maybe you can mooch some points or see if they'd get a 2 bedroom and invite your family. I am already wishing I'd bought more points. But the payments are painful enough already. Maybe when my car is paid off early next year :rolleyes1

Moo, see above post about riding my cousin's DVC coattails. Heh. I keep dropping hints to the DH about buying DVC. So far, he's not biting. But at first, he wasn't going to bite for last summer's trip either so maybe there's hope.......

lynette - What's monster golf? Is haunted mansion any good? I've never seen it.

martia - peej asked you a question about hub dining reservations. Now I want to know what she's talking about.

hi all!

Cel, Monster Golf was fun. It's an indoor monster themed mini-golf place with private party rooms and video games. The whole place is lit with black lights, and everything is painted with glow-in-the-dark paints. The mini-golf section is set up to look like a cemetery with monsters and fog....pretty cool!

Haunted Mansion was okay-ish. I'm not a huge Eddie Murphy fan.

Boris and DH are home from their camping trip. Apparently, it started to rain around 10:30 last night. Boris fell asleep despite the rain, but my DH only got about 2 hours of sleep all night, so he's upstairs trying to nap now.
