Good to see twinks and babycow around!

moo - I need to get inspired too. I've put on a few pounds, so I'm trying to do weight watchers, but my appetite is killing me! argh!

Don't tell celmama, but I think I'm going to book a free dining trip. :rolleyes1

I feel the urge. and it's cheap.

I'm taking my mom, dad, sister, brother and grandmother on a short trip this weekend. We're staying at a timeshare 2 hours from Nashville. A 4 bedroom deluxe! 2300 square feet! woo!
plus lakes, minature golf, indoor and outdoor pools, fishing, etc.
Should be fun.
until they drive me crazy!

Twinkie
- I stole that highchair from my Mom. No IDEA where she got it from. She has another like it at her house(for all the grandbabies) I have seen them for sale at Sams before. So I'd try there. We actually need another, the high chair we bought it junk and takes up too much room. I want to paint it black and the other when we get one.

Goog luck with VBS. I volunteered myself for a super easy job this year. Taking care of the 2-3s and with a goog friend even. :cool1:

Marita: Do you miss real German beer?

I do. :lmao:

Good luck with your bathing suit shopping. I'm so excited that I was able to fine a super cute and flattering one for this pregnancy. You know I've been pregnant 6 times now and the only other time I bought a maternity suit was my FIRST pregnancy... :lmao:

Alli :grouphug: Glad your mom is doing better - funny about playing phone tag!!

Alli said her internet connection was too spotty to log in, but she'll be heading home and will give us a full report!!! :wizard:

Moo Its super duper easy to get the train at O'Hare and take it into the city - at baggage claims there are a lot of signs to direct you - and when you get on the train - there is a place to buy bus passes and lots of maps to help direct you!! Since its the 4th of July - thats premium time in the city - fireworks over Navy Pier are super spectacular - the free concert at Grant Park is awesome - and oh yea - CHICAGO FEST! Its not anywhere near Food and Wine fest - but LOADS of FOOD - ribs, burgers, Eli's Cheesecake, Greek Food, etc for about $7 - $10 a plate small type plates - its a food festival and super crowded - usually really hot - for some reason that's when Chicago's heat wave kicks in - over 100 degree days in some years!

BBN Saving the throwing of lemons - altho I did use some honey to confuse them completely! (they wanted to take dd out of honors classes and expected me to balk, fight, argue... hah, I'm a teacher I saw the game, knew the game - so I played a different game - I agreed with them - before the meeting was over I had them convincing me to allow her to be put on the Honors team next year!! ;)

Now if only I could stop eating!! I'm so addicted - and I keep gaining... even when I am eating I know I shouldnt, today went to Chinese, knowing it was the stupidest thing I've done... (I've lost 3# this week!) :guilty:

Twink have fun with that! I think my VBS days may be behind me!! I'm sure I"ll miss them!

Celery I"m almost done saving for our Jan trip - if there's any left over - I would so go on a free dining trip!

Last Sept Chicago tried a "Food and Wine" fest that had great reviews, we may try that...

any one know of the winning lottery numbers for this week??

The chairs are at Sam's (33$) and Costco (38$, shipping included and I am a member already). Thanks and picture me hitting myself in the head homer simpson style. D'oh. My current high chair is a hand me down from cousins (thus it was free to me and has a lot of wear and tear between 12 years of constant use, 4 moves etc etc). Also even with removing the tray we can't pull it up to the table because it is too tall (the kids' legs get squooshed).. and we have 6 chairs and 7 people so for Grasshopper to sit at the table we need to buy something anyway.

Hi Sandy! Hi Moo! Hi Cel! Look at Babynurse and her wild and crazy signature.

Disney is taunting me. They sent me TWO codes for this summer. The only problem with that and free dining is that it is too hotT for me. Well, not for me. I have been in August twice. I just don't want to haul the family. Plus my midwestern children are not used to humidity. I would be so tempted if there was any sort of deal in Oct or Nov. Maybe 2010.

ummmm, actually you didn't.

Cel - Have you tried that five-day pouch test to get back to basics? I've read about a lot of RNY people who have had success with that. Long-term, low carb dieting is pretty difficult, especially for women because it affects our moods, but that seems to be how most people lose weight fast. I think the key to successfully eating low carb is to avoid processed and "white" foods (sugar, flour, rice, potatoes) and to make sure any carbs you do eat are "good" ones, like veggies, fruits, and whole grains.

Sounds like you have a fun weekend coming up! If you're doing a free dining trip, maybe you could overlap with my trip a bit! I'll be there 9/18-26 and we're doing the 9/25 MNSSHP.

Twink - I feel your pain!!! Why does Disney always send codes when you can't use them?????

Sandy - Thanks for the pointers. I'm still waiting for my DD to let me know if she is comfortable taking the train from the airport. She takes the Metro all over DC when she visits her friends there, so I don't think it should be a problem for her.

Moo - I need to do the pouch test -
think strawberry cheesecake blizzards count as an acceptable liquid? :lmao:

I'll be better soon...
:guilty:

I'm thinking of going the 26th - oct 3rd.
Coming in on the 25th and doing MNSSHP might be fun.
It depends, since it's all imaginary anyway. ;)

is this the trip with Mari and your sister? or one with just don?
you and don might both be ECV free by then!

Things have been crazy busy here. There have been concerts, graduations, wedding showers, dentist appointments, driving, driving, and more driving, anniversaries, more graduations, siblings in town, I could go on. In short, I miss y'all and I'll try to stop in more often once I get settled down in Florida. I make no promises prior to that time!!!

Last Wednesday was supposed to be our last day. Sigh. Now it's next Wednesday. Even bigger sigh. The kids are restless, I am restless, it's time for everything to be over. Tomorrow we are going to middle of nowhere Kentucky to see Abraham Lincoln's birthplace. It's an hour and a half bus ride. We don't get back till 5:30pm. Shoot me now. Put me out of my misery. I was totally guilt tripped into going.

MommyP...sorry I missed your birthday. Hope it was great.

Nab/Marita...thanks for starting that fab conversation about Ariel in the ghetto. It made me lol several times. The only time Hollywood worked at studios was in the parade there..never in the show. Now she does grotto at MK, parade at MK, meet and greet at MK, and dinner at Park Fare. Got it? ;)

The rest of you...consider yourselves acknowledged.
:grouphug:

Today is a rotten dreary wet damp coldish day....Hubby just turned on the furnace.....I know its almost June and we are freezing.
Today is our 42nd anniversary......yah I know.....We have been married longer then some of you have been on this earth......Its been a pretty good 42 years......I still get that flutter in the tummy when I see him all "cleaned up good"....he is a good hubby and a good daddy and a good papa and a good doggie lover......Guess I should keep him around longer cause he knows how to use this sewing machine and I DONT......and also makes the giant pies for the holidays......ROFL.....I know I am nuts...

HOpe you all have a good day

Peej! I'll be in south loserville (ha ha ha! had to find a new way to bug you! :lmao:) on Friday at around 8 am yer time - want to drop cookie off?

I also will be in lexmelinda country about 6:30 am.

I will never make it!

he sews all his pants if they need a hem....he has done my dresses before....he made the seat covers on the boat and also the canvas cover with snaps.......he has done the cushion covers on one of our old rocking chairs.(that is history now).. He made the dogs bed out of heavy material...he can do anything ....

But his giant pies will be what we all remember......He makes this pie crust SOOOOOOO big and I cant even do a ten inch pie crust.......without putting patches on it......rofl

Happy Anniversary Pumba and Mr Pumba!!!!!

I was only 4 then....that is a long time! I remember you talking about you hubby's pies. And he sews too you have a great catch there. Your anniversary is so close to your birthday is that so he remembers both?

It is still raining here too. Suppose to have another day of it tomorrow so I bet you will too.

Nice to see lots of posts today!

I didn't have power for must of the day. My BIL had the power off and when he turned it off he kept blowing the circuits down there. So my dishwasher is not working right now but the power is on for everything else. So tomorrow will be a no power day again I think.

We had Nicholas at the doctors today. I guess they think he pulled the cartilage in his knee he has to go for an ultrasound , then an MRI and then to see a specialist. :sad2: So now he has a more expensive brace on his knee. Cost us $150.00 The one we bought at the drug store last night was $20. but it didn't have metal sides.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PUMBA AND MR. PUMBA!!!

My hubby sews too, and I do NOT! But he never sews my stuff. I either take it to the tailor shop or pitch it

Peej! Sorry you're not done with your school year yet  Sounds like you've been having some fun though! At least your field trip shouldn't be as buggy as Nab's!!!

Cel - You need to come in a little earlier than the 25th! AND join us at MNSSHP! The first four days is a family birthday/anniversary trip with Mari and Don (at BLT, YAY!), then they're flying home and my sister and her friend are joining me at SSR the rest of the time to spend my developer points.

P.S. I think strawberry cheesecake Blizzard counts as a mega-slider!!!!! A small one has: Calories: 510, Total Fat: 21g, Carbs: 69mg, Protein: 12g. OUCH!

HOLY CARBOHYDRATE...

Those 69 are more then I can have for two meals......HOLY MOLY......

Happy Anniversary, Pumba!!! :goodvibes Today is my mom and dad's 31st anniversary....I'm sure they planned that so it would be on the same day as yours. :rotfl:

One of the kids is going to take him!!!! WOOT!! I was concerned. She's a good kid, and she took him over Christmas break as well. Her mom is awesome too and helps me out a lot. In fact, she's the only parent who volunteered to join us on the field trip tomorrow! I'll be at field day on Friday. See, the fun never ends. Feel free to stop by and play a few outdoor games with us.

Peej! Sorry you're not done with your school year yet  Sounds like you've been having some fun though! At least your field trip shouldn't be as buggy as Nab's!!!
In reality I'm sure it'll be fun, it's just that it's going to be a long day and I know it'll be exhausting. Several of my kids weren't allowed to go since we're getting back at 5:30 so they would have to get a ride home. The lesser number of students will be helpful and I do have one mom going, along with my assistant. Maybe I'll bore y'all with some pictures tomorrow night.

p.s. a blizzard sounds good right now!

P.J-- we have to be the first to volunteer or we don't go because so many parents want to go. Just remember to ride at the back of the bus so you get to feel every bump. And the noise level ....I must be getting old.

Moo-- that is a lot of stuff those blizzards. I love the Strawberry Quake one...yummy. Good thing I don't have them often.

WHAT A HOCKEY GAME!!! OMG - Truly its 1 -1 I'm really thinking the defending Stanley cup champs will win - but what a heart Blackhawks are giving their all - too bad we lost our goalie! Osgood is amazing - and I :lovestruc Chelios!!

:dance3: Pumba and Mr Pumba!! Quite a story you have to tell!!

 back to Twinkie!!

PJ I envy you!!

Happy anniversary to the Pumbas!!
Wow, a posting frenzy today, that's great. I'm too tired to go back and comment.

Another long day today. At least it was at home again. At 4:30 I had nothing to do and went to almost leave, but made the mistake to stop by BB's desk. She gave a project to do tonight. I asked if I can it from the couch, she said, no, you have to be in the office 8 hours  But she let me leave by 5:10.
Tomorrow is the big forecast day where we roll up all the resorts and play big boy/girl games, so that will definitely be a late in the office for sure.
