My meetings with Boris and Natasha's teachers went well. According to both teachers, my children are well-behaved, attentive and hard-working. Not sure what sort of transformation occurs on the school bus ride home, but I can tell you that they are not necessarily the same sort of cherubs at home.

This reminds me of my kids. They all gave "candy" up for Lent. (I already told you I gave up going to the CASINO, if you recall.) It's amazing how narrow their definition of candy gets during this time. The absolute look of shock and disbelief on each of their faces when I tell them that GUM would fit into the definition of candy is priceless. The oldest one shut me up the other day when she said GUM would count as CANDY if going to the HORSE TRACK counted as going to the CASINO. You should have seen the look of shock and disbelief on my face when she came up with that one.

morning everyone.

Moo......you are in my thoughts today, Cel .....safe trip to he house of the mouse......hope you enjoy yourself....(are you going for fun or for work?)...

Today it is yucky out and it looks like it may rain.....megaras area in the back yard where we had the pool last summer is a mud slick.....she doesnt like to get her feet dirty cause she knows I will put them in a bucket of warm water and wash them off......and of course dry them too...

Last night had fun tracking my sons flight from NYC to Maine....he was there for the day....leave at six am and arrive back at nine thirty pm....and then drive home....

I am sitting here debating on whether or not to take Ava back for a while longer........my other niece is having a hard time right now with her new baby boy and two daughters.......then it would be Ava too......so I am sitting here wondering if I am or not.....

Peej - That's just plain wrong to send your kid to school skunked. How horrible. Poor little thing. I don't envy your job that's for sure, I'd never want to be a teacher....oh wait... My little cousin soon a first time teaching job in Queens, she's making $60,000 a year, totally not worth the daily physical and verbal abuse she's getting from SECOND graders.


My midwife appointment was last night. Went well. We were there for about an hour and 15 minutes and all of that time was spent with either the midwife or birthing assistant(who is totally off her rocker). I signed my life away and they took 5 vials of blood, which took forever for the assistant to get. You do your own weight and urine test strip thingy in the bathroom which totally ROCKS! Now I can weigh myself undressed for a more accurate weight. It took a while to find the heartbeat with her little "dollar store looking"(as Chad said) doppler. It was definitely not the same strength of the one used in my old practice. Sometimes you could hear the person it the next rooms babies heartbeat. lol. But Baby wasn't liking all her poking on it's home with that thing because he/she kicked it away. lol. After that we could faintly hear it. I have another u/s on April 8th. That is when they usually do them, even though at the one last week I was plenty far enough along to do all the checking they do. I hope we get a better picture at the next one. They picture we got is one of those full on alien face ones. I hate those. Profiles are so true to what they really look like. I'm going to ask him to try for one of those.

So that's it. I have a headache today. So that's a bummer. But she told me I could take Excedrin Migraine for them so that's good.

So every 6 mos or so he ADMITs to having a Snickers bar however he may be eating Snickers bars (271 calories or approx 29 original wheat thins crackers) daily. Hmmm.....

Good catch Nancy Drew. Very astute. A daily Snickers? I see nothing wrong with that. at all. ESPECIALLY if it were consumed with a Diet Coke. That would be nirvana.

The book I mentioned "Up the Down Staircase" (it is also a play and a movie but I like the book the best) should be required reading for teachers. Here is the plot from Wikipedia

The plot revolves around Sylvia Barrett, a young idealistic English teacher at an inner-city high school who hopes to nurture her students' interest in classic literature (especially Chaucer) and writing. She quickly becomes discouraged during her first year, frustrated by petty bureaucracy (the name of the novel refers to an infraction one of her students was punished for), the indifference of her students, and the incompetence of many of her colleagues. She decides to leave public school to work in a smaller private setting. Her mind is changed, however, by the realization that she has indeed touched the lives of her students.

It is set in a high school in the 60s but is still funny. Your modern version will be a best seller.
