Don't forget to FALL BACK. An extra hour- woot.

I bet Lynt is using hers to eradicate dust bunnies. Or change the curtains from Halloween to Thanksgiving. Heh.

The BBN and the Peej of course spent the extra hour braiding hair, telling secrets and having pillow fights.

Celery invented a new cake recipe involving strawberry cake batter and pepto bismal. Perfect for the post-halloween candy indigestion. :thumbsup2

MommyP was smart and spent hers at Disney. :wizard:

Marita put in an extra hour at work.

Moo spent hers helping friends.

NAB spent hers disinfecting the house after the sickie kiddies. Poor NAB. Better luck next year.

Pumba spent hers praying for snow.

Lil G worked on his Halloween story. I think two major studios are fighting over the rights.

To all our once and future thread peeps, I hope life is treating you well.

great post, Twinks :lmao:

And you were absolutely right about how I spent my extra hour, LOL

Hope you didn't spend your extra hour grading papers.

Have tons of candy left.....because I couldn't answer the door last night.

I was sick all day yesterday. Fever and all. It is so true mom's can't be sick. Every time I laid down someone need something. Still got Hannah ( the witch ) all ready for Halloween and sent them on there way. Hubby tried to help but didn't know where anything was either. I have a bad cough but the fever seems to be gone. Poor Nicholas still looks pretty pale and complains about his stomach.

Marita-- how much candy to you have left. That sounds like lots. Mind you I think they were out later last night since it was Saturday.

Twinkie-- How was your Halloween? What were the kids?

Hee hee . . . Twink was right (see below)! Sounds like everyone had a pretty nice Halloween.

bbn - Did the creepy BK mask rear it's ugly head??! :lmao:

I've been MIA because on Friday and Saturday I went to Wisconsin with a friend from work to pick up her new puppy!!! My friend Janice is 70ish and didn't want to do that long of a drive by herself. Her DIL who normally does such trips with her had a work-related commitment on Friday. We've gone to Disney together, so I knew it would be a fun trip. We stopped at an outlet mall on the way there and visited the Ghirardelli outlet  AND stopped at the Jelly Belly factory. We were too late to get to do the tour, but we had fun in the shop trying some free samples. I was a good girl and have only had a tiny bit of candy, but I did pick up some stuff for the treat bowl at work. The one thing I had to have was some pumpkin pie salt water taffy. SO yummy!

Stonewall's Black Pepper ("Pepper") is a very adorable black flat-coated retriever. She cried a lot the first couple hours of the ride home, so I held her part of the way. We figured out that she was probably crying partly because she needed to piddle, so we stopped and let her take care of business and she settled down and fell asleep.

Here's the link to the breeder's Web site if you'd like to see what she looks like. My friend's puppy was known as Miss Black.

http://www.stonewallretrievers.net/Litters/TheBLitterPuppiesAugust2009/tabid/100/AlbumID/470-29/Default.aspx

We also stopped on the way home at Mar's Cheese Castle and bought some cheese and I found some pumpkin spice chai tea. I don't know why, but I've been craving pumpkin-flavored stuff lately :confused3 Anyway, I tried some last night and it was very good. But I don't think I'll be drinking it at night again because it's caffeinated.

Nabbie - So sorry you've feeling yucky :grouphug: Hope you feel better soon.

Marita - Sounds like you have plenty of treats left over to snack on :goodvibes We don't get any trick-or-treaters because we're so far back from the road, so we didn't bother turning on our light.

Cel - Has Riley recovered from his treats yet?

Lil G - I'm sure you'll get a great room if you call when your 11-month window opens up! I was able to get a one bedroom at Hilton Head Island for Memorial Day weekend. I called right at the 7-month window. I think it's going to be fun and more relaxing going somewhere new that has the Disney ambiance that is not park-oriented :)

Nabbie, so sorry you were sick, UGGHHH! Hope Nicholas gets well soon too.

Moo, great looking dog

HH sounds great, Knitfreak and Asst #2 went there (not together) and had a great time with games and tours.

I have tons of candy left, probably 2/3 or more. Luckily I saved most of the M&M's :3dglasses

But DH bought no Snickers, what's up with that??

Anyway, I missed every one of the ghosts and goblins yesterday, as I was fast asleep with a nap for 2 hours. I woke up in time for the last few doorbells ringing, but DH got them all. I left the light on till after 9pm, but nobody showed up, whew!!

PS: I just counted 10 (TEN!!!!!!!!!) cans of cream of celery soup in the pantry. 98% fat free, no less!!!! Finally found a can of regular cream of broccoli soup to have with my dinner of chicago roll with prosciuitti and cheese

After my nap I started working again till 2AM :guilty: Finally got to bed at 3, old time and woke up at 9:25, read the paper and worked 3 more hours. Then I couldn't take it anymore and said the heck with it. Laundry to do, hair to color, mom to call, wine to buy, gas to get, etc. I went to a different gas station and didnt realized that their pump had high grade on the left, where my usual ones have them on the right. By the time I realized that, I had paid $3.10 more than I would have! :headache:

Ok, back to housework stuff for a while, and then probably a nap. As much as I love the Sunday of "fall back", I hate the Monday. I have a meeting at 10AM that I have a report to run for in the morning, which for my body probably means I need to get there by 8AM. Not likely to happen... :rolleyes1

Riley is better. the pepto bismal cake helped. :lmao:
I'm sending some to Nab just in case.

I really like my film class, but for some reason I can't make myself watch the movies. argh.
I'm three weeks behind - the professor told me not to worry and see them when I can, but I should just do it!
I've got tootsie on right now and I'm enjoying it, but I just don't wanna watch cuz it's homework.
I'm insane.

I've enjoyed looking at everyone's halloween pics on facebook. my favorite was some high school friends who went as the mythbusters - one's female! they dressed their baby as the crash test dummy.
I missed them at the festival yesterday by what must have been minutes.
I'm curious as to why none of peej's friends went with the toy story theme.

I finished three pairs of pants today.
woo!
Now I can officially start on my disney crossstitch I bought at WDW.
It's one and a half feet by two feet.
ugh.
it's going to take me forever!
I'm doing it to have something to do besides drink, but my friend Pat said it would drive her to drink.
:rotfl2:

Cel - What's your cross stitch of? Sounds like a big project :)

I did a major vacuuming of my kitchen/dining room/living room this afternoon, including moving the chairs, the sofa, and my end table. Whew! It took me about three hours (including some rest breaks) and it was a pretty good workout because I vacuumed all the cobwebs and most of the baseboards too. I still need to do some more dusting and mop the kitchen floor, but at least now all the dog hair is gone! I de-cluttered the living room, but I need to tackle the dining room table soon. It's still piled high with stuff from vacation. Hopefully, that won't take too long to clear off.

My goal is to have a clean house when my daughter comes to visit in a few weeks.

Marita - Send that Cream of Celery soup home with your daughter next time she comes over and raids your pantry!!!

Riley is better. the pepto bismal cake helped. :lmao:
I'm sending some to Nab just in case.

:lmao:

great post, Twinks :lmao:

And you were absolutely right about how I spent my extra hour, LOL

Hope you didn't spend your extra hour grading papers.

Unfortunately, I didn't. And I should have. Now I need to.... before 5 pm today.... write a test, write worksheets to guide them in lab for the next 2 classes, grade a stack of huge exams, and grade lab reports. Oh yeah... and write the lecture I am giving tonight. Maybe Procrastinate is my middle name.

Therefore I am on the computer all day- hence this sctintillating post. Ha.

Have tons of candy left.....because I couldn't answer the door last night.

Twinkie-- How was your Halloween? What were the kids?
Oh Nab- I am so sorry. I hope you feel better soon.

I was kinda of annoyed with the DH because I felt like I was doing all the work on Halloween. He stayed home to hand out candy and I trick-or-treated. I went with a Spider Princess (take aurora's dress and add spiders to your crown), a Black Belk Karate Champ, an adorable little puppy and of coruse.... Darth Vader.

Then the DH work up feeling weak and feverish on Monday. He is now basically a poster child for the H1N1 symptoms. Poor guy. This explains why he was so lethargic on Saturday. I hope he feels better soon. Meanwhile lots of lysoling is going on over here.

Hee hee . . . Twink was right (see below)! :)

That just needed to be quoted.

I also want to know about the BK mask.

And- your non park vacation sounds lovely Moo. I have been thinking... no, daydreaming about something like that. And of course another big family trip complete with matchy matchy shirts. All of this is fantasy, despite my pin code because I didn't get the free vacation one that Lexy mentioned. ;)

We had a great time! It was REALLY hot though. Oh my goodness. We just kept going from country to country and stopping in the shade. lol. Talked to some interesting people. Tried some good food, although really it was too hot to eat. lol. Everyone is pretty talkative at Epcot, especially during F&W IYKWIM. ;)

As always I enjoyed freaking people out when they sat next to me and then realized I was nursing a baby. :rotfl:

Marita - We don't Trick or Treat. I grew up not doing it, so it just fit to keep that tradition. lol. Not for religious reasons, just because we would have to walk about 3 miles or more to hit 10 houses. And the whole going to Walmart to trick or treat thing is stupid. Plus I HATE candy(when in my children's possession. Sugar breaks down the immune system and causes cavities for which we have no dental insurance to take care of. My parents took the kids to a local church's festival and our church celebrates Reformation Day http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reformation_Day instead and they get candy there also.

Ellie has put on some weight. Over a pound. She looks so filled out and healthy. She no longer looks like she was just born yesterday. I love her tiny little chunky thighs. She put on all the weight while Mom had her. She was mostly getting breast milk, but in bottle form. So it would seem she isn't nursing well. I go to WIC this month and will discuss the issue with them. I know they want her on ONLY breast milk and they help for free. :o)

moo - it's walt and mickey in front of the castle.
Yay!

I'm starting it tonight.
no computer at home for a bit.
mY work laptop's screen is out and I don't like wagging it around anyway.
Should get a new one within two weeks.
well, hopefully new.
it might just be new to me.

My most favorite picture of Ellie.

MP, adorable baby and dress princess:

Cel, no home computer for 2 weeks?? UGHHHHHH!! I couldn't stand it, it's the only life I have, sad to say, LOL

Twinkie, hope you got all your work done

Nab, hope you are not still sick!

My carry-to-party deviled egg platter finally arrived today after 2 or 3 months. I forgot it gets chilled in the freezer with some liquid (pre-packaged) in the bottom of the tray for transporting. I tried to put the carrying handle on but no success, but I didn't try very long, no patience tonight.

Has anyone heard from Sandy lately? I sent her a pm a while back, but never got a response.

Amazingly I got up on time this morning with the time change :yay: A little crochet, a little tv and a little reading tonight, and to bed at a decent hour.

Who believes that? :rotfl:

:thumbsup2..mp, the cutest lil'minnie ,i ever did see!

....:lmao:, twinkle. now if you want a "real" horror story..you should

hear my dealings...with the local legal system, :lmao:. [ however,

....one should be "note".....in the end, the judge..lower the boom

..on him. though he should be in jail....if he gets caught now.....

stripes...will be more than a bill murray...rerun. * also..some of the
people/.//@ work...were amazed...how well...i was able to handle
this situation. { if you heard it all...& saw..,what i could prove...
*alot....people in the justice system....would be looking for a new
line of work. it is unbelievable....the ways...they tried to blame
the victim. (me). 2 things, ..first..you heard me lectured..using
the reality intervention & second..in general, "documentation"..is
something...all good nurses do...very well. i still can't get over it...
our law director + friends..attempted to make me the criminal,
then you should "see"..the paperwork..covering it all up. if iam
ever..killed because...of this...i have instructed...my wife, to sue
them for wrongful death. wonder...why...we don't sue now?...
..they all in together...so the only way..is to go "outside"...the
county....but finally, we got a criminal judge....& it didn't take
long..for him to figured..out the real criminal.

...like he said...."you better not be back..even playing music..while
those guys over there. it's no brainier..you are dangerous!" and
the sheriff..granted us a license ..to carry concealed guns.

you would not believe...how lil'support & how much illegal behaviors
we..had..to tolerated from ...our legal system. they proved to us..they
are for the criminals...lying-like dogs, and they allowed them to get by
with it...even when the truth....was self evident! how sick..is the
law officers..they could care less..about the victim or the truth.
it's just a game...if i could ever find..a honest attorney..their careers
would be gone! [ like i said..if you could see..the evidence...you would
be very ,very shock. as it is, that over the top. ]

* when i speak getting by with lying..the reference was under~oath.

oh, well...that's the way..the ball bounces sometimes. however, i can't
say..it enough...."mental health"..knowledge...is the best investment one
can do for one~self. it is common sense/s...that works..no matter the
odds.

life...your destiny..is in your past...by your own designs. in the middle
of this mess..the legal department attempted to wiggle out..by offering
a bogus "deal". unfor....i have never taken the easy..way out, so
let's play...for keeps. & while...@ the time...it looked...like the thing to
do...nothing beats, standing up when you are in the right...&
enjoy the victory. besides..what good would be my word/s..if i didn't live
by them?

..what's wrong?....with our legal ways..of thinking?.....him & his brother
has over 10 pages..of prior's....from dwi, fighting, drugs, theft, vandalism,
so forth...& so forth. me?....besides...helping families with christmas,
military officer, combat nurse~atls certified < ( oh, nurses are the #1
group jurys believe most, organized & started the sbd here, does
big brothers/sisters, ....awards from nursing/vfw, ..so forth, so forth...
now who did they try to make out as the criminal....something wrong, very
wrong!!

now if you asking...me?..one of the best treatment...known to man...is
prevention. when you hear...all the horrors stroys..on the news, think
about what is being permitted on tv? ...just like the medical field..needs
checks & balances...obviously..our legal sytem..needs alot more than
a few good men/women.

not to change..the topic....but will the real grinch.....

..here's my wife....wearing that dreaded iowa...sweatie, * note a few
moons ago....:rolleyes1

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i75/mrmerlin56/bach5.jpg?t=1257227632

...before i feel toooo sorry fro myself..i think about how lucky iam,

this is my favorite picture..of my wife. as stated before, it's right after
she delivered...a miracle...that i really thought..was impossible...

http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i75/mrmerlin56/bach9.jpg?t=1257228212

...& our first wdw family trip....noticed..how we block out...all the rest?

,

so as you can see.....anyone...can have a "wonderful life.....:wizard:

* it just some of us..have to work @ it..a lil'harder, :rotfl:

did you git..that twinkle?

...jus a reminder..since...someone on another thread..talked..about
old christmas toys. one of the neatest ..coin bank..i ever seen
..was the one we got jordan....back when toys st-roy II was out.

it's woodie on bulls~winkle , or was it twink;e~:confused3..

well..some..of us...are getting older....anymoo.....you put the coin in...

and old woodie...hollers.."let's ride..like the wind", bulleye! heyaw!

now..twinkle girl....it porbabyly..jsut my silly ways..of thinking...but
wouldn;t that make..a great....nature show.."ride like the wendy"?

now to get all the jokes..one has to pay attention, :teacher: or
consult..utahm. :flower3:

marita - I'll probably take the computer home this weekend - 2 days with no access will drive me crazy!

mommyp - did you do the applique yourself? That's one thing I haven't mastered.

Celery - Yes. I just cut out the mickey head and then zig zag stitched it on with a close stitch. It's easy to do for big things, a little trickier when I did a letter E on a burp cloth. lol.

Yes I am still sick....had my fever come back yesterday. I slept the day away and then went to bed at 7:30 and slept until this morning when I had to get up for the kids. It is cold and windy today and just taking the kids to school hurt my chest. But with that being said I am feeling better tonight.

Celery-- thanks for offering a pepto bismal cake....I lost 6 pounds. I am sure it will find its way home. You will have to keep us posted on the cross stitch. I love doing them but I have so many framed and leaning on walls because the mats are the wrong colour for the rooms now. Plus Nicholas and Hannah both took theirs down to make room for posters. That and it is time consuming that's for sure.

Mommy P-- Love Ellie's outfit. You are talented, what a lucky girl to have a mommy that sews.

Marita-- when is your surgery for your eyes? Glad you got clearance. Can't remember if I told you that already. Hope you are eating more then Halloween candy!

Lil'g-- You and the Grinch....love it. I really love your t-shirt too.

Nab - Hope you get better soon. Its never good when Mama gets sick.

Twink! I saw your :cutie: message over yonder! Evening up the numbers, eh?! Hope your hubby is feeling better.

Yes, I'm definitely looking forward to my non-park trip :) But I am also daydreaming about a Segway jaunt to WDW. When I hit the weight where I can do the Epcot Segway tour, I think I'm going to book a value hotel and go down for a long weekend. Hopefully, it will happen sometime this spring (ideally during Flower and Garden Festival) and I'll be able to talk my cousin into joining me since she's only a little over an hour from WDW :goodvibes

MommyP - Yay for finally having your getaway to F&W Festival! Nice job on Ellie's Minnie outfit!!! Very cute.

Nabbie - Glad to hear you're finally on the mend  We have had a lot of people out sick at my office lately. I'm hoping all the vitamins I've been taking are helping my immunity.

Marita - No word here from Sandy lately either. Hope things are OK. Did you make it up on time today? I usually do much better with the fall time change than the spring one.

Moo, yes, been walking up ok, actually (hope it continues)

Twinkie, Saw your PINK post over yonder too :cloud9:princess: Congrats!

Nab, hope you feel better tomorrow.

I left work at 4:55 today to get home before dark. When I got home, I had an email from BB saying she had come to ask me a question and I was gone (sent at 5:02) I had sent an email from work at 4:53, so I have proof I was there that late. It's just really ticking me off that I work all kinds of hours, but she looks at the clock!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!! I put in another 11 hours today, 24 hours since Sunday!!

First I wanted to say that Ellie is beautiful MommyP. Her picture brought a smile to my face.

And I needed a smile this morning. We got some bad news yesterday. My mom has breast cancer. I know you guys are very supportive and believe in the power of prayer so I'm asking for lots of prayers for her and for all the family as we deal with this situation.

I appreciate you guys. Thanks so much.
