peej - Hang in there. You're the best thing for those kids.

melinda! Hey! I'll be in your town week after next. No idea yet where I'm staying - I don't even know where our clinic is! Let me know of good places that allow pets. I lean towards homewood suites.

twinks - I think a 6 month old in the park wouldn't be bad - but can you wrangle golden child and grasshopper while wagging new baby? :confused3

I think not disciplining your kids means you have a low IQ. ::yes::

marita - GET THE SURGERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sandy and sandyalli - keep on running!

pumba - where are you?

Nab - I think blue for hannah's uniform sounds better! scary about the funnel cloud!

OMG, talk about a painful conversation!

Just talked to Mom, she cant hear a dang thing anymore. She was supposed to see an ear-doctor this week, but didnt. I creamed into the phone, and she couldn't hear me. She said we can;t talk till someone takes her to the doctor. I tried to tell her about my surgery, but I don't think she understood.

In other non-news, I got an email from work today, asking about DVC stuff. It had my stomach turned for awhile, I thought I screwed up, but I didn't, whew. Just need to update some percentages that changed. DId I mention I hate this job?

Moo, my eggs turned out fine, go for it!!

Lynt, goog to see you back, don't be a stranger, BBN and others (me) miss the dreck and drivel...

Back to work....

It feels like I've been cooking and doing laundry all day! I made tuna salad (for lunch), chili, and a salad with marinated mozzarella balls, chopped Roma tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, and Italian dressing (for afternoon snack and dinner). Yum!!!

And I'm finally caught up on Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.

Fun way to spend a cold, rainy Sunday :goodvibes

Moo,your cooking sounds yummy,

think I feel the need to make beef stew soon. although its still 90 outside. Guess I have to wait a bit (dumplings are required)

I abondoned my pink baby blanket at 99.8% done, starting the blue one

Care to share the anwserd prayer with the group, anyone?
I think I would be a goog candidate for this! I was at wal mart on Friday when I heard this little voice just jabbering away. I kind of laughed because it sounded like snack kid's voice. He never shut up. Then about .5 seconds later I whipped my head around and....
IT WAS HIM!!!!!! I called out his name and he came running over to me. I got to talk to him one final time. Thing is, he moved with his dad to the next county over in KENTUCKY. I was in INDIANA!!!! What the heck was he even doing at that wal mart???? It was kind of amazing and I feel like it gave me some closure and a little bit of peace about the situation. :goodvibes

Moo..the mozzarella salad sounds yum! Sounds like a productive day.

Marita...my mom is a nurse at an eye surgery center. They mainly do cataracts. I realize that is probably of no interest to you, but that's my contribution as far as eye surgery goes.
Could you please cool the temperature down a bit for my arrival? 90 sounds not appealing.

Celery..welcome back! Hope you had a lovely trip despite the unruly kids. You might not want to ever visit my classroom if unruly kids are a problem. Just sayin.

MommyP...yay for a nice day at the beach! That sounds so great.

L....:rolleyes1 That's all.

So tomorrow we have this mandatory professional development thing. It's for every teacher and assistant in the district and we're going to hear some speaker. I forget his name. Our principal is making us wear matching shirts. The whole school. Come on, that's so corny. The thing starts at 8:30 and she's also making us get to the school at 8 so we can all ride a bus over together. That way we can all make sure we're sitting together. In our matching shirts. I sense some team building activities in my near future. So if anyone needs me tomorrow, I'll be bonding.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Peej! I'm so glad you got to see snack kid!!!!! :cloud9::hug:

Two homework projects done and turned in.
One more to go.
I'll work on it tomorrow.
Have to go to work tomorrow. :(
Night all!

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Only it's not really sunny. It's still dark. Living on the extreme western edge of the Eastern Time Zone, it's a fact of life.

News here: Did I tell you Mimi totaled her car on Thursday? Called me to come to the accident because she didn't have her insurance card. Her wallet had been stolen on Wednesday with credit card, drivers license, insurance cards. Anyway, Mimi had just picked up Emily and a friend from school. The other guy ran a stop sign at a two-way stop (Mimi had the right of way) but the bad thing is Mimi's car was a very well-maintained 20 yr old Honda Accord and I'm sure they won't fix it since the market value is so low. They'd rather just pay for it. But. I'm afraid we won't be able to replace it for what she'll get for it. :upsidedow Just thanking God nobody was hurt. It could have been MUCH worse.

Oh and did I mention Emily has her permit?

Peej....So glad you saw snack kid! Nice to see him in a non-school settings so you can make a fuss. I hope his daddy is good to him. Have fun team building. Heh.

Twink......I still haven't found that post but I would like to add...get a new maternity top, woman! YOU deserve it!

MP...If I drive down to your house will you, Chad, and munchkins take me to the beach? I'll be looking for my retirement trailer near there. :)

Cel....I have no idea who allows pets. Is Riley coming too?

NAB....Did you get to see Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs yet?

Lynette....Are you over-scheduled? Busy weekend?

Marita...Why did you abandon the almost-complete blanket? Is your brother taking your mom to the hearing aid place?

Moo....I bought all the stuff to make chili and then didn't. It turned out to be a nice-ish weekend here. Next weekend in the low 50's so chili then. I also have 8 hours of Jane Eyre to watch that I didn't touch this weekend.

Sandy....Boys?! How far away is DS from everything?

Gotta get a sweater. Have a great day, everyone! :wave2:

Luther - Yes, we will take you to the beach. :) Do you mind squeezing in between carseats, listening to at least 2 boys talk at once OVER the radio and listen to 3 boys singing 3 different songs none of which are even on the radio and all AT THE SAME TIME? ;)

How lovely to wake up to a cheerfu and informative post by lexy! (Skimmers friend- ha!)

Lexy- I am so glad that everyone is ok but I understand the "worth more to me than it is worth" car situation. My hair is turning gray because my own personal teen is about to get his permit.

Peej- I am so happy that you got to see lil snack buddy. Walmarts are a great place to run into people you shouldn't. ;) I will enjoy picturing your entire faculty in their matchy-matchy t-shirts riding the bus to hear the inspirational speaker (perhaps you will be encouraged not to live in a van down by the river?)- please let us know if you all hold hands and sing kumbahya.

MP- I can't help with the squeezing between carseats but we do have a family rule that you are only allowed to sing what is on the radio with the appropriate lyrics and in tune. Seriously. So of course we can only listen to things we don't mind our kids singing. Which is why we all know all the lyrics to They Might Be Giants Here Come the ABCs and the Veggie Tales Pirate Ship of Fun .

Everyone else- I am stealing time while the toast toasts and it just popped so my post must be cut short. I have to get some lil twinkies to the bus stop on time. But Hi!!!!!

Twink.....I feel your pain on the permit!!! Going anywhere with Em at the wheel is just excruciating. Thank googness for Miss Clairol.

Cel....I'm not busy at work today. If you find out where the clinic is, let me know. I'll do some dog-friendly, non-scary, low-traffic hotel research. I googled already and don't see Homewood on the list but there do seem to be lots of choices.

MP...I still wanna go to the beach. I've been at this momma-thing a long time and can tune out almost anything.

Twinkie - On the way to church yesterday the radio was on the local christian station for the older boys amusment, Isaac was singing The Doxology, Kaleb was singing something else and Ethan was singing something else. All I could do was laugh that there was so much noise going on and be thankful that my 21 month old can sings The Doxology. lol. Yours is a great rule, but I am afraid we wouldn't get to our destination with that rule because we would constantly be parked on the side of the road lower our childrens IQ's. ;)

Quick post - haven't had time to skim, will later. :rolleyes1

Twinks and Lex - You KNOW I feel your pain. Lex, glad everyone is ok, but I feel your pain about having to replace her car. Definitely not going to get what a new "used" car would cost though. :sad2:

My DS busted my driver's side mirror last week while backing out of the garage with all of us in the car. Everything was fine until he started telling us that it was OUR fault because we told him to keep going when he first hit the mirror.....Well we meant get out of the garage, but straighten up first. :headache: Anyway, I was able to get a nice used mirror to replace it, and the man did it in less than 15 minutes. :thumbsup2

My DS is tutoring a Korean boy who was in our preschool last year. He is doing it 3 days a week after school, so I am playing Miss Shuttlealliekidseverywhere lately. I renegotiated his "contract" on Friday, and now he can stay extra time so that Mr. Allie can pick him up on his way home from work. :goodvibes

Hi Everybody else! I'll try and check in later. :grouphug:

melinda - very scary about the car. Glad the girls are ok.

Yes, I'm bringing Riley.
I'm not sure if I'll be there next week or the week after. I got confused and sent both dates to the administrators involved. We'll see what they say.
I'm looking at the doubletree on richmond road and the Hampton inn on Elkhorn.
The hampton inn doesn't have a pet fee, so I'm leaning towards it.
They also have a 12 pm checkout time which means I could head to the office then come back and get riley on friday.

The clinic is on Venture court.

Hey Moo - I don't think I want to buy the photopass cd - we only took 27 pictures and I was able to get 3 prints - one for visa and two for our room. When I added Alli to the room, they sent me another voucher! woo!
(marita, don't tell the finance people! I also got another arcade voucher)

If you want to get a print of it, I'll wait to log on so I can get you the MNSSHP discount. Let me know!

The Doubletree on Richmond Rd is in a good-ish location but on the opposite side of downtown from your clinic. Riley dog will be 20ish minutes away.

Hampton Inn on Elkhorn is on the other side of the world from the clinic but near the interstate, the Cracker Barrel and the Hustler store. FYI.

I would suggest the Holiday Inn Express on Export St. Closest to the clinic and gets good reviews. Not in a big commerce area but not far from downtown or campus. There's a good Mexican restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings, Starbucks and Atlanta Bread Co. very nearby. Probably about a 10 minute drive to the clinic.

thanks, backie..but i'm still kicking,,though iam still getting older, :teacher:,

. [ the last 6 months...have been very trying with alot

..of my "ideas"..on life....being tested. --remember the second, terminator

some "fair" changes?

...fyi..let me ....if i may, explained...how they stole that game....from the

georgia...player..made -what should been- the game winning td? *
it gave lsu....the "ball'...on the georgia....38 yd.. line. & since a
"field goal"..could win it...."forced"..georgia....to "employed..their
goal line..defense, & then the next play..lsu...ran it in for a td???

:scared1:..see?.....if one understands..the "concepts"....then one
can "see"...how ..the refs..are in control..not the players....which,should
never be?...& this is why...i got out of doing the soap box..derby..
when the adults...stole..."the outcomes"...from the kids! :sad2:

ironically, jus ran in...one of the other derby officals, from a "great
program"..telling me they are fed up tooo, pssst, if i ever become "rich".,

...i have a "whole" pro-type...new type of derby..race...for kids, by kids,

...nothing but kiddie race~ :cheer2:, that has "built~in rules" , to
prevent..adults....running this type of race ..for the kids!

goodness..me!..i sure hope the college-pros..don't start getting on bobby
bowden....jus because..his team "is"....(2-3)! * they have been playing
some if the best football in the country..but unfo........like
the boston college..game, with their star from last..year, now fighting
ca.....but on the side lines..poor fsu..having to play...them?

did you all..hear about the usc's running back?....scary, .....but it does..
look like....he will recover. * the thing, that i picked up..was they took
him to the hospital..where his mother was,

then tim tebow..got "kick"..in the head..by his own player..what a freaky
accident...but also , very, very serious......sure hope he makes a full
recovery. maybe, the college pros..leaqve him alone..for awhile?

soooo msu defeated...mich.? ....but the real ?.....did it make you "happymoo"?

~ :flower3:

moo?....reading the dvc..boars....only make me more confuse..& concern,
..seem to be....."alot"...of snooty people..& you kno me...."like to get
hands..dirty"~, & mix it up....:rolleyes1

as for my....problems...seem nothing, ..did any of you read..about
the mother..who son..was killed in a car accident? in ak/....she
sure..having to deal..with a loss...i hope..i never....

over & over, the more i live life.., the more .., respect i 've gained, for the
lil' things i get to enjoy.....& you know..me? out ot have some fun
:grouphug:

Lexi-- Glad the girls were ok, that is pretty scary. I did see Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs last night. It was cute. Made me hungry.

P.J-- glad you got to see that little boy again. At our school had the teachers all dress the same. Black polo shirt with Holy Family wrtten in teal and tan pants. I they have days too that they can wear anything they want.

Marita-- why didnt' you finish the pink blanket? Your trip will be here before you know it.

Hi everyone else....:wave2:

I really don't know where my days are going. Still trying to get my house in order, shop for new furniture, get the kids to things....I am beat. I must be getting old.

Lex! I'm so glad the girls weren't hurt. I feel your pain on the loss of a good used car :grouphug: My hubby complimented me on the chili I made. It was pretty delicious if I say so myself. Really hit the spot in this cold weather.

Lil G - I didn't care much one way or the other about who won the game, but most of my coworkers were happy campers! I think you're going to like BLT. We didn't run into any snooty people while we were there :goodvibes

Cel - Would you want to put your photos onto our CD? I can send you the information.

Peej! I'm so glad you got to see snack kid!!!!! :cloud9::hug:

Two homework projects done and turned in.
One more to go.
I'll work on it tomorrow.
Have to go to work tomorrow. :(
Night all!
Thanks. :) Hope you had a decent day back to work and got the homework done too.

Peej....So glad you saw snack kid! Nice to see him in a non-school settings so you can make a fuss. I hope his daddy is good to him. Have fun team building. Heh.
It's so good to see a morning Lexi post!!!! :yay: Sorry to hear about Mimi's car. Hopefully something will work out. And, like you said, glad no one was hurt.

I can just feel the sincerity oozing from this post. If it adds to your enjoyment, I had to ride 3 to a seat on the bus because there were too many people. Yes, 3 adults in a school bus seat. And we got stuck in traffic so we were on there for like an hour. Gah!

P.J-- glad you got to see that little boy again. At our school had the teachers all dress the same. Black polo shirt with Holy Family wrtten in teal and tan pants. I they have days too that they can wear anything they want.
Didn't anyone ever tell these people that matching is only cool in Disney?

I survived team building!!! I think I slept and/or texted through 99% of the presentation. Yes, it was that good.

Tomorrow I have to survive parent-teacher conferences. I had 4 this afternoon. They went well. Hopefully there will be no psychotic parents tomorrow.

I've been working on a Jessie costume. You know, Jessie from Toy Story. I worked on it a lot this weekend but I made the hat tonight. It's okay-ish. Not as good as I would have hoped. I think the costume will be fun to wear to the halloween party though. All I have left to do is the belt buckle.

I'm too tired to post.

Mark this day on your calendars (or NOT). I'm going to bed at 11!

Peej, YAY for Snack kid meet,

Lexi, dang on the car and all the scare about kids driving, you never really cease to worry. But great that Mimi is OK

I have not entirely abandoned pink blanket, just dont like the dimension.

Nab, care to trade???????????? I would love your schedule.

Off to bed!!!
