I'm going to give up tofu and alfalfa sprouts. ;)

Tonight is the big tour of the birth center. I'm excited to meet the midwife.

Getting ready to head to my Mom's. I'm bring the ingredients and we're having waffles.

I'm hoping to get Chad to take me to Motherhood before our meeting tonight so I can get a few new tee shirts and tank tops. It's almost that time. I also need a belly band because a lot of my jeans are being worn unbuttoned. ;) I don't have any maternity jeans, well like 1 pair. So I need to make mine last for a couple more months until it's too hot to wear jeans.

I am a little confuzzled this morning.

Did anyone see the new Harris poll that Obama is more popular than Jesus? I thought they were one and the same.:scratchin

Morning all.

One of the beauties of being in New Mexico is green chile! I'm having the special - eggs, enchiladas and green chile.
It's yummo!

Nab - Ronda is 37. Chris (the other one I'm dating) is 31.
I think it could go well with either of them.

But boys are so confusing!
Breadman spoiled me with texts, I guess.
We'd text throughout the day - not neccessarily lovey dovey stuff, just jokes, what we were doing, crazy things we saw, etc.

And that's what I want with one of these yahoos!
But I can't get it.
What the heck else are they doing all day?
:confused3
What about when they get home?
:confused3
How hard is it to send one freaking friendly text - even if you're out with another girl! Which I actually don't think they are -
I dunno.
B! Explain it!

Yes today is Fat Tuesday, pancakes for supper today. Even though the kids are having some at school today too.:lmao:

We are having a heat wave today it is -6 . You wouldn't believe how warm this feels after -22.

Celery-- Ronda looked older in the picture. Do they know how to text? I would have no idea how to text someone.

I was out shopping this moring for a baby shower next weekend. I loved it, and it is for a little girl too. Do you know you can buy a Winnie the Pooh pink bathtub? I did not buy this because they wanted $32.00 for it. Crazy. There is a lot of furry blankets out there too but all I could think about is smothering a baby with those things.

Cel, you could be contending with worse things than a less than ideal name. (Believe me, I dated more than a couple men with unfortunate monikers in my time!)

You call Little Paulie Blue Eyes unfortunate? :confused3 I can see how Gino the Fish was an undesirable knickname but really he was such a nice guy you had to overlook that. ;)

So for our Fat Tuesday I made our favorite meal.

Lazy Lasagna.

I don't use the traditional lasagna noodles. I use the bow ties.

Same priciple as layering but my first layer is half of the noodles mixed together with half of the cheese (ricotta, parmasean, and shredded mozeralla)

Then sauce. (which is lazy homemade-or doctored up store bought. I add ground round with onion and garlic to Ragu's chunky mushroom.)

Repeat.

The top layer is several kinds of shredded cheese on top.

Then bake until bubbly.

I am using Lent this year to start my health kick. I need to get in back. I figure if I make it through 40 days, I'll be well adjusted to it to stick with it.

Today's the day I tell the kids, mom ain't buyin no more sweets.

Yes, indeedy..I thought so too. I guess the O-bots have finally gotten to us both. :scared:

Y'know, when I posted that I just KNEW that YOU'D have something smartypantsish to say. Thank you for living up to my expectations. Also, you didn't even know about Vasken and Sarkis, but I think they'd both make that list.

Hey Mony, whatchoo have thar is called pasta forno (literally, pasta in the oven). Sounds so much bettah than lazy lasagna, no? :rotfl:

For our Fat Tuesday, I am making shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta and homemade bread. Yummo!

Really? I didn't invent that?

Hmmmmmmm.............Pasta Forno?

Ok, sounds nice. Maybe the boys will like it more with that fancy smanshy name.

I'm gonna try it on them and see how they respond and get back wit choo.

Does that make Octomom the anti-christ by comparison?

Tonight's manager reception at the hotel has chips, salsa, and GUMMY BEARS!?!?!?!?!

it's good.

I also did 15 minutes on the elliptical machine - one whole mile, baby! I need one of those at home.

What's crackalACKin, moovers? I have nothing to report. We had a huge Fat Tuesday spread today. Man there was way too much food. And I ate way too much food. I think I tried 5 different kinds of cakes. Then the kids wouldn't let me take a post sugar rush nap. Wassup with that??

I have noticed a predominance of Catholic schools in the loouhvull area. We do not have those in Nashville.
In fact, to be Catholic is slightly different.
I had the great fortune of being friends with two devout catholics in my high school/young adult life - so I got to see first hand what it's like to be a "real un."
Fat tuesday is not much of anything in NashVegas.
Cinco De Mayo gets bigger billing.

In Germany, Fat Tuesday is a huge party day too. They have really funny comedy shows on TV and big parades and parties.

People get dress up in costumes too, and the people on TV are dressed like mideaval (sp?) fools with a whatachemadookie in hand.

Ha! Good luck with that, Mony! Let's see if the kids like it better with an official-Italian name.

Uhmm....yup. I think it might. ::yes::

1. Good gravy.

2. Darn those meddlesome kids! Don't they know that food coma toadily trumps the need to learn? Harumph!

Well, my plans for shrimp scampi were promptly squashed when the principal of my kids' school called me at 4:00 today. Boris was supposed to be at an afterschool prep class for Massachusetts' mandatory standardized testing, but he asked to go to the nurse's office b/c he wasn't feeling well. The class was supposed to end at 4:15, so I was actually already 3/4 of the way there from work anyway. I got him home and he went directly to bed. He rested in his bed, no books or video games (!) until he began beurking at around 5:30. Poor guy. He's been sick two more times since then, but he ended up falling asleep around 7:30ish. Pitiful little dude.

Now I am dreading what inevitably follows: the rampaging beurks running through my household. :scared1: Help!

ACK! Poor Boris. Hope you somehow manage to escape the rampant beurking, Lynette.

Well, we had some mini Paczki at work and I picked up one each for my hubby and myself on my way home tonight, so I've had my fix for the year

Mony - Your fake lasagna with the fancy new EYE-talian name sounds kinda like what I made Sunday night! ;)

Twink - In Disney-related math news . . . something new at Innoventions!

Nabbie - How were the pancakes???

Marita - You're working from home??! :scared1: I had to switch my telecommute day from Wednesday to Thursday this week due to a meeting that I need to attend tomorrow. Bleah.

Hey! That office of Raytheon is in the town where I work. I know...you're all thrilled, right? You're welcome. :rotfl:

ETA: Thanks for the wishes of good health, Moo!

I join in that wish. Funny, I dont remember my kids going through that. DD would get the beurks due to Migraines, but that is not catching.

What's that? Never heard of it.

I got a reprieve till Monday on new office hours. I worked 12 hours today, combined. I plan to propose a compromise after forecast is done.
