Mony - Everything turned out really well. Except I was right about the bars. They are better now that I cooked the crap out of them. ;) But next time I'll make a raw sugar syrup instead of the maple syrup. They are good though. The cereal is yummy! I can't wait to be hungry to try some with milk. Next time I'm going to use walnuts and dried bananas to make a banana nut crunch.

Mommy P-- that does sound yummy. And yes it does get warm here. This winter has been the bad for snow and cold winds. It is now -8 but with the wind it is freezing. Indoor recess all day.

Mony-- that is why I have to take a break sometimes from the games or it will just keep running though my head too. It is an addiction for sure.

My mom used to make us smelts too, fried up with a light coating. Haven't had them in years.

Celery-- where are you off too? I can't believe how much time you spend in airports.

HELLLOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

1. IDK! My IRL friends are weird about the online guys I meet. They're ok with you guys - or at least they pretend to be -
but they think the guys are weird. :confused3

she does have two girls, and she's super protective of them - but it was a second date and I've been talking to him for like a month.
but apparently I was out of bounds for asking because I got a text lecture from Ben for it.
:confused3
I guess if I'd met him the "traditional" way in a bar or something, it would've been fine!
ha.
I can kind of see that. When I want to meet disboards people, my sister (and family in general) are fine with females, but then if it's a male they FREAK out. Before the Disney cruise when we were in Barcelona we had a big DIS meet for everyone going on the cruise. We all met up for dinner one night. My mom wouldn't even look at the men!! She chatted it up with some of the women though! :confused3 I guess men are just such freaks. Heh.

Moo...thank you for that run down on smelt. You have contributed to my growing archive of random information.

PJ: Did you say you wanted a smelt melt? Have to travel kinda far for one of those. You just missed the plane. Oh and btw, maybe SOME people have no sense of humor. harumph.
pssst....that's what my mind went to right away too. ;) I like smelt melts, but I LOOOOVE spelt melts. Been far too long since I had me one of them! Can you hook me up?

Poor Hannah walked to school with her hand over her face ( only her eyes were uncovered , she had on a hat, hood and scraf ) the whole time meaning I had to navigate her all the way to school. Then I got to the school to see the kids were still outside so I took her with me to the office, asked what the temp. was this morning. She replied -22. They are allowed in at -18. The kids can come straight in. I told her the kids were not told because they are all out there! :sad2:
That's too cold for human existance. The thermometer said 18 this morning and I about wanted to die. I can't imagine NEGATIVE 18!!!

Hi Peej: Smelting at least for us, was when uncle Bob would go out and fish with the boys. He'd bring a ton back wrapped in newspaper and my mom and I would sit outside, at the picnic table, scale, degut, and de egg the smelt.

Then we would cut off their heads, and slit them down the middle in half.

Mom would fry them with a light coating and yummy!

The remains got put into the garden.

ETA: MommyP: Please let me know how that turns out. I would love to make some as well!

All's good in the world when Nebo is writng a TR.

Carry on!
There's nothing like a head cutting, slitting down the middle, frying good time!

We're getting lunch catered tomorrow for Fat Tuesday. I wonder if they'll have smelt. Golly I sure hope so. Is anyone else giving something up for Lent? I can't think of anything. A couple years in a row I gave up sugar. That SUCKED. I did not enjoy that experience. While I don't feel strongly toward any food, when it comes to dessert, I'll take all you've got! Maybe I'll give up meat. Nah, too challenging. ;)

Today was chaotic. There was supposed to be a Black History Month program from 1-3:30pm. Long story short the principal is crazy and my class was "uninvited" from the program along with several other classes. Don't ask. So, then I had no work or lessons planned from 1-3:30 and 30 kids looking at me wondering what they were supposed to do. So, we went outside for a little over an hour and then watched Aladdin and ate fruit snacks. It's not my fault someone foiled all my plans! Harumph!!!! And at the last minute, too. Oy.

nabbers and anyone else wondering - I'm in Albuquerque this week! Yay!
I won 10 bucks at the casino, but drinks here aren't free, so I broke even. Oh well.
Drinks at the hotel are free, however, so I can make up the difference. Ha.
Except I have to eat dinner here in the hotel tonight, so that'll be three times more than a regular restaurant.

Things even out?

:confused3

Why do they have to show steak and lobster with drawn butter on TV?? NOT FAIR!

I went to the cafeteria today and found absolutely nothing I wanted. Not even a grilled cheese sammie. I had a can of lentil soup for dinner, all I ate all day. :sad1:

NAB, that weather sounds awful!!!!!!!! They keep the kids outside till -18 degrees? Whatever for, that is just horrible. I would call that child abuse even!

Peej, a pox on the principal!

I spent most of my day today putting together a bill for a Bar Mitzvah that an executive had on property. They get to pay cost. Tons of work!

Tomorrow starts yet another forecast week, SCREAMMMMMM!

Luckily, my new work hours dont start till next week. I honestly dont know how I am going to do it.

Evening, MOOvers!!!

Hmmmm . . . Albuquerque? Is it warmish there, Cel?

Nabbie - Is that degrees C or F where they have inside recess? Poor Hannah. I wore my ear muffs and a scarf this morning to go from my parking spot to my building. That dang wind sure has been cold.

Is Shrove Tuesday the same day as Fat Tuesday (Paczki day)? I can never remember.

Mony - That sounds like how it was around my grandparents' house when I was younger and my Grandpa brought home smelt! Must be a Michigan thang. With all the fish advisories these days, about the only Great Lakes fish that I eat anymore is whitefish.

bbn - So are you having pancakes tomorrow too?!!

Peej - I harumph your principal too. Geesh :sad2:

BTW, I found that thread about the computers crashing yesterday. At least it sounded like there wasn't as high a demand as a couple weeks ago, thank goodness.

Marita - Still feelin' your pain!

MommyP - Your granola sounds yummy! I remember making that while I was in college.

Moo - it is very pleasant here!

peej - oh my goodness! Hollywood's pic of "it got very boring" made me LOL! And I'm in a lobby!
other than that -
the three of y'all, while all different, are all beautiful! I hope you know that.
(the three being you and your sisters. I guess Eren counts too cuz she's in so many of your pics and looks a bit like Allison)

In other news -
does anyone else get weirded out by facebook?
:scared:

There are things about my sister that I'd rather not know.

Does Hollywood know that when she tags Peej, it shows up on other people's status reports?
Hmm.
Don't tell her!

You guys wanna see one of the guys I'm kinda dating?
He's on my facebook.
His name is Ronda.
I KNOW!

/
So what's the deal with his name, Cel? He looks pretty happy in his pic!

Is it kind of like Nabbie using her hubby's FB account initially?

OK, I obviously have not read my FB for Dummies yet, but I can't find the pic.

Any hints?

Go to Cel's page and just look through all of her Friends (toward the end). You won't be able to access his profile, you'll just see the photo.

If I know Hollywood...and I'm pretty familiar with her work....I'm guessing she knows but assumes her sister wouldn't be facebook friends with some random people she met on a Disney message board. Just a guess. Also, you seem to spell everything in my life incorrectly. Cincinnati. Alison. Sheesh, be a better stalker. ;)

And yes, facebook weirds me out from time to time. All the time when I post status updates people text me later and are like "Oh, how was the _______" whatever I posted that I was doing. It's like everybody knows your business. It's a little freaky. It can be fun though.

Moo -- that is C ....-17 is 1 F I just checked and it is -13 right now which is 9 F but that does not include the windchill factor so tomorrow morning is going to be bad again.

And yes tomorrow is Fat Tuesday. Meaning in the old days you were suppose to use up all your staples and fast for the 40 days of Lent. Now we just give something up and don't eat meat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Used to be no meat on any Friday.

Celery -- I checked out his picture too. How old is he?

Lynette we must have been bitten by the same bug.

Friday I cleaned the kitchen.

Today the laundry room got clean and nothing but laundry stuff is in there. I did do several loads, I didn't count and put most away.

I also cleaned the girls room and was able to reduce all the clothes and pack up what wasn't being worn into 5 mega diaper boxes and duct taped them and put into hall closet. I also compacted so much that the extra dresser is now empty and waitng to go into boys room.

That's tomorrow's project.

While the girls were playing in the tub, the upstairs bathroom got a make over and is sparkling clean.

Mony, YAY for cleaning! Let's say that we are beginning our Spring cleaning early, shall we? I know that we both live in areas where the weather is way less than cooperative with that idea, but what the heck....let's FORCE Spring, 'kay?

Lynt and Mony, can I borrow you for a couple of days please? Or at least your bug?

I promise to throw in any drink of choice and order in whatever food you want!

Marita, I'm shoo-ing the cleaning bug your way...CATCH!

That was tricky of the DH. Oh well, at least you'll have your laptop soon and then you'll be back in business!

For some reason my planning this week took me forever and a day. It usually only takes me about 3 hours on Sunday afternoons to get the whole week planned out and have all the work ready. I was having an unable to concentrate situation this evening!

Well. I guess the weekend's over. How does it always go so fast? Hope everyone had a nice one. Night.
:grouphug:

I KNOW! And yes, we'll have to plan a chat once my laptop arrives. Can't remember the last time we chatted. *sigh*

Oh, and I harumph your principal for uninviting your band of hoodlums...uh, I mean "classroom" from the assembly. That principal needs a come to Jesus meeting, I'm thinkin'. ::yes::

SnarkbRitches: did you just borg me yet again??? :flower3:

Silly BBN! I don't borg and tell! :rolleyes1

I haven't yet decided what to give up for Lent. French fries are a good thing to sacrifice, NAB! But can I make it a whole 40 days? I dunno. Guess I'd better come up with something FAST!

Hi Cel, Moo, and MommyP!

Regarding "Ronda" - IDK! :confused3
He even got picked on at p f Changs last week by strangers when we were hanging out.

and trust me - - -
B! you out there?

The guys we were hanging out with LOVED IT when I told them I used to date women and now I date a guy named Ronda.
:sad2:

And my IRL friends love it when I say "Me and Ronda....." cuz there's a scary woman that works with us name Rhonda.

I still don't get it, but I like him, so I don't care.

Only he doesn't text me as much as I'd like!

Dear Peeeeeej -
My spelling is direct from the spellun king who learned it all from the twin towers of the english language (of which I am a part)..... therefore, GET OVER IT!
I think I do good for spelling Eren right.

And my sister is Allison - therefore, your sister is Allison.

:P

Marita, I'm shoo-ing the cleaning bug your way...CATCH!

Thanks, Lynt! ! Can you rethrow it after forecast please. I'm gonna be busyish for a few days....

How about you give up steak and lobster with drawn butter and baked potato with butter and sour cream? And broccoli with cheese sauce?

Thanks, Lynt! ! Can you rethrow it after forecast please. I'm gonna be busyish for a few days....

Gotcha. I'll put the bug on hold....lemme know when you need it. ;)

Cel, you could be contending with worse things than a less than ideal name. (Believe me, I dated more than a couple men with unfortunate monikers in my time!) Glad to hear that you're considering narrowing the field to 2 guys! :thumbsup2

ETA: Mony, is there a ceremonial Spring-welcoming dance we could do? Spring can't come fast enough for me, I tell you what.

Lynt: I am all over spring getting here fast! closing my eyes, tapping my heals, fingers crossed I am ready. Walking to class this morning, 3 parking lots away from my building was not fun. And YES my eyeballs felt like they were icing up.

Just a little FYI-that demo job tim and I did, well we finally hired a company to finally make it all better. Can't wait.

Gotcha. I'll put the bug on hold....lemme know when you need it. ;)

Thanks, will do!!

But I just had a fabulous idea! I have a linen closet in the master bedroom that holds pretty much all towels and sheets. Whch means its overflowing. Yes, it needs weeding out. But DH goes to bed at 5pm, which means most days I dont get a chance to work on it. And I have a big basket of cleaned and folded towels sitting in the living room that I can't put away due to DH sleeping.

Enter idea! DD moved out. She has shelving in her closet that she vacated. Ergo, SPACE!!!!!!!!!!!! That I can fill....
Not gonna happen tonight though.
