Well now it really is a snow day. It has been snowing since 9:30 this morning and doesn't look like it going to give up. Can't see across the street either with the wind blowing.

Good night to stay put. Only went out to get the kids to and from school. That was a chore walking in drifted snow I tell you. Hannah complains on a day where the sidewalks are clear. She hates snow pants because she can't walk fast...think of a Christmas story with Ralph's brother can't put his arms down. She can't bend her legs.

Moo--Hope you get your car unstuck.

Mony-- we had the luggage thing happened to us once too. It is a pain. I think that is the trip we met Twinkie. (the luggage was a pain not Twinkie :lmao: )

Pumba-- Hope you don't get all this white stuff since you seem to get our weather. They say another storm is coming Saturday night...

Twink: :lmao: That's what one of my co-workers said! I have actually been reading and taking care of my e-mail all afternoon and talked with work a couple times. One of the guys said that they have helped several people dig their cars out today, so I'm glad I didn't go in.

FIL and DH will pull my car out sometime tomorrow. I hope they can do it without me ;)

Nabbie - Poor Hannah! I can't say as I blame her regarding the snow pants. Good thing your trip was last week!!!!!

I think I'm going to break out an Aero bar tonight. I ended up giving Gail the Smarties you gave Mari because she left them in the hotel room.

I think we're going to brave THE Wal-Mart shortly to get some dog food for the wuppies. And maybe pick up some movies at Blockbuster while we're out.

Jasper and Sukie both had snow beards when they came inside last time :santa:

Hope Mony makes it home OK. It would suck to be stuck at airport!!

Moo, YAY for getting to stay home, hope your car gets out tomorrow. I remember driving on icy hilly roads in Germany, NO FUN!

NAB, your weather sounds awful, brrr!!

It was 80 and sunny here today, and supposed to stay that way till Sunday, then Monday we go down to 60 (which is freezing to me)

I wish I could say I was on vacation now, but I have to finish a report tonight that I have been struggling with. The boss wants me to put together this powerpoiny presentation explaning the status of some initiative. My natural way would be to put together an Excel spreadsheet that clearly shows the numbers. But NO, he wants a PP presentation with verbage. So against my nature, so I have been dragging my feet on it. GRRR.
But once I do send it in tonight, I will be off for a week, YAY!

ETA: DD just got home and informed us she is moving out in 2 weeks!!!!!!! We are going to be empty nesters!

Oh, if you have not heard, they had a press conference this afternoon confirming that the bones of the child found are indeed those of little Caylee Anthony. So sad. Cause of death is listed as homicide by underdetermined cause.

oh guess what.......its snowing Nab, and I forget if I told you ......I dont really care for snow....rofl......I HATE IT...

today went out to eat with my dil and the two rug rats.....it is such a pleasure to eat out with my grandkids....they are so polite and so good to sit there and eat.....megan was telling the waitress please and thank you.....I love it...they ate alot of veggies and chicken and shrimp and mushrooms.....they were so good.....

then we went to BJ's and got some other stuff.....PISTACHIOS....my favorite snack that is not candy......

I hate snow....I just looked out and it is coming down hard......this is supposed to be not alot....maybe 4 or so inches and sunday into monday is supposed to be a humdinger

I was in NashVegas today where it hit 71 degrees. I finished up my shopping, or so I thought, last night. Then On the way home this afternoon, a billboard screamed DISNEY MERCHANDISE 80% OFF. Warehouse sale, mostly carp, but I found Glancy a Mickey outfit for under 8 bucks. Only Donald t was a large thin long sleeved t that would have fit like a glove over a glove.
Marita, your dd is out in 2 weeks. Gee, I arrive in 16 days.... Speaking of which, Lexy, pick an evening. We can meet at a pool bar or, if too cool, Duck in somewhere.
Best gift I got anyone was for the whole Poper gang, a huge box of candy from Old Time Candy . Everything from BB Bats to Teaberry Gum with Cow Tales, Necco Wafers, Oh Henry(that's one of our finest candy bars), Rainblo Gum and even Cinnamon toothpicks. Seven pounds worth.

I think Pumba secrectly loves snow. After all, she is choosing to stay in Maine

Good deal on the 80% off deal, DTD.
I finished my shopping today too, got that back massager with heat for DH, and it was on clearance with $10 off (hope that is not a bad sign). Still waiting for some packages to arrive though. I did all my other shopping online.

Well, I never finished that stupid report tonight, so I have to fit that in somewhere this weekend or next week :guilty:

But DS comes in on Tuesday night! :woohoo: :yay:

Pumba-- sorry about the snow, our I think has stopped but is just blowing around now. I want it to stop, I am afraid if it doesn't I will not get home for the holidays.

We always go to my Mom's place for a Christmas Eve party, all 36 of us. We go to the family Mass at church and come back and open presents and socialize. Then come home that night so the kids can sleep in there beds and get up for Santa. It makes for a long night for hubby and I but love that we spend our own little Christmas in the morning. Then off to the in-laws for Boxing day.

But if the weather is bad we will have to stay home.

Donald-- I love Oh Henry chocolate bars. I didn't know you guys had them there. Have you tried the Rocky Road Oh Henry?

Marita-- sorry you still have to work on a Friday night. Love your weather though.

Marita-- woohoo on your son coming home again. Where is your dd moving too so fast?

I am done all my shopping now I think. We are going out and doing the Angel tree with the kids tomorrow. They have to use some of their allowance money to buy a gift each. But they don't mind. We do this every year.

Marita-- woohoo on your son coming home again. Where is your dd moving too so fast?
She is moving in with her HS friend and her DH. They have a house with 2 small spare rooms, and someone who lived there before moved out. She gets the use of both of them (rooms, that is). Flat $300 a month rent. She was really excited.

Came bouncing in the door, shouting "I'm mooving OUT" I'm mooving OUT" I'm mooving OUT " 'm so happy, I'm mooving OUT"
Jeez, nothing like it to make a mother feel warm and fuzzy!
But she informed us already that she will come over to raid the food
Well, she IS 24, so I guess it's the right thing to do, except she is still in college, part time (Masters program)..., so guess who gets to foot the bill? Or at least supplement it.

DTD - The Teaberry gum and cinnamon toothpicks are what caught my eye! Those really bring back some childhood memories! We could buy the flavored toothpicks at the corner store, but we also made them once in a while using the Lorann oils.

Your trip is coming right up :cool1: Did you see the CB thread about the Norwalk virus? I'm SO happy we didn't pick up a stomach bug this trip. Mony said her hubby got the crud but it sounded like he got over it. If there are no delays, hopefully the Mony family will be arriving back in Detroit around 10:30.

Marita - My DD is arriving home Tuesday night too!!! :dance3: I need to finish cleaning the living room tomorrow so we can put up the tree before she arrives. It will just be our little one again this year.

Happy Friday to all! Whew, you people have been very chatty these past few days! Took me forevah to read bACK.

This past week has been chock full o' fun, I tell you what. My godmother, who lives in southern New Hampshire, had no power, heat or water from December 11 until this morning, due to a huge ice storm. So she stayed with my mom (who lives with us) from Sunday night until this morning. Drove us all nuts. My godmom lives alone, so she's not used to having to make concessions for those around her. Oy.

Also, my deadbeat brother borrowed my mom's car 2 MONTHS ago, and still has it, so I've had to take my mom Christmas shopping several times this week.

At the moment, we are in the midst of being walloped by a pretty big snowstorm. The snow started around 1:30 this afternoon, and by 5 pm we already had about 6 inches. Boris and Natasha's school announced yesterday that today would be a 1/2 day because of the storm. I took today off and managed to do Christmas shopping and get my nails done before the storm really got going.

The kids' religious education classes are already canceled for tomorrow, so we are planning to spend the day lounging around and doing some baking for Christmas. Unfortunately, there's another storm scheduled to hit our area on Sunday. Blech!

I did read back (no skimming. Honest!), but there's too much to comment on. So suffice to say  to all!!!

Hey Moovers!

Marita. Congrats on your baby moooving out. And big   I would like my kids to live with me until they are 34  But I know that won't happen.

I am so excited to have the kids home for the Christmas break. 16 days! No getting school clothes ready, making lunches, waking up early. Bring it on!

Today at work I was helping 3 first graders do the recycling, and they accidently dumped one teachers tupperware. :scared1: So I had to go dumpster diving to recover it. It was pouring rain too :rotfl: Everyone made fun of me for the rest of the day. "Do you smell something?. Oh it's just Mrs. The King"

I hope you are all getting knee deep in holiday cheer.

Lynette! Goog to see you! Blech on the ice and snowstorms  I think we got about 7 or 8 inches today. Yay for the bonus lounging/cookie baking day tomorrow!!!

I'm SO jealous of the Nashvegas and Florida weather that DTD and Marita mentioned. I think I'm going to end up being a snowbird.

I sure hope the weather is OK for my DD's drive home.

Pumba, you have to see this! http://www.dogwork.com/dogsnow/

Moo, YAY for Mari coming home too! DD will be close to home, but after Xmas, DS has 6 months of training, so not likely to see him anytime soon after this.

Lynt, goog to see you finally, EEK on the visitor and bum brother!

Mrs TK, I was about to post on your trippie, another great update, your alarm story is hilarious. I was going to ask you to stop by here again, but here you are :yay:

The poor kid doesnt get here till 9 on Tuesday and the party is Wednesday, I think I will take on the washing of curtains

I want snow so bad. The closest I'll get is when I groom my nimrod dogs myself and get a giant pile of white dog hair. :sad2: My kids make "leaf angels"

Oh it's hilarious. Freaking now. Then. Not funny. :rotfl:

I actually had to work my butt off this week. I was so excited to get a chance to dis tonight. I have 16 days off now. You will all be sick of me soon

Question. I read Zzub's blog and I couldn't post. There was no post button. At least that I could find. Do you know how to do it? I saw you on there :cool2:

Moo and Marita, Yay for your respective kids coming home for the holidays.

Mrs. The King,.

Well, isn't that satisfying. And insightful.

BDG

BDG, did you want to bite me? Cuz you may. ::yes::
