I love "O Holy Night" as I previously mentioned, but this has to be one of my favorites too!

I really can't stay
(but baby it's cold outside)
I've got to go 'way
(but baby it's cold outside)
this evening has been so very nice
(I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)

my mother will start to worry!
(beautiful, what's your hurry?)
and father will be pacing the floor
(listen to that fireplace roar)
so really I'd better scurry!
(beautiful, please don't hurry)
well maybe just a half a drink more
(puts some records on while I pour)

the neighbors might think
(baby it's bad out there)
say, what's in this drink?
(no cabs to be had out there)
I wish I knew how to break the spell
(I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)

I oughtta say no, no, no, sir
(mind if I move in closer?)
at least I'm gonna say that I tried!
(what's the sense of hurtin' my pride?)
I really can't stay
(baby, don't hold out)
[both] ahh but it's cold outside!!

I simply must go
(but, baby it's cold outside)
the answer is no
(but BABY it's cold outside)
this welcome has been so nice and warm
(look out the window at that STORM!)
my sister will be suspicious!
(gosh your lips look delicious!)
my brother will be there at the door!
(waves upon a tropical shore!)
my maiden aunt's mind is vicious
(GOSH, your lips are delicous)
well, maybe just a cigarette more
(NEVER such a blizzard before)

I've got to get home!
(but, baby, you'll FREEZE out there!)
say, lend me your coat?
(it's up to your knees out there)
you've really been grand!
(I thrill when you touch my hand)
but don't you see?
(HOW can you DO this thing to ME?)

there's bound to be talk tomorrow
(think of my life long sorrow!)
at least there will be plenty implied!
(if you caught pneumonia and DIED!!)
I really can't stay!
(baby, don't hold out)
(o0o0o0o0o0o)
[Both]ahhhhhhh baby it's cold outside!!

my kids had a "reading rodeo" at their school last night. they have all these little stations like campfire songs, hoedown, chowwagon, and of course The BBN family is always invited to bring the roping equipment so all the kids can try their hand at being a cowpoke.
How cute is that? Oh my goodness!

peej - you kinda remind me of bella a little too. but in a MUCH less annoying way.
:flower3:

glad you got an assistant!

geez!
you people are making me feel like a bad Christian. my two favorite Christmas songs are "All I want for christmas is you" and "Baby its cold outside."

See babycow's post for lyrics to baby its cold outside. The dean martin version is good, but I LOVE the way zoey deschanel sings it. it just sucks that the elf soundtrack put leon redbone in place of will ferrel.
the WORST version is Tom Jones.
:scared:
it is truly horrendous and scary.

here are the lyrics for all i want for Christmas is you.
I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is...
You

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me happy
With a toy on Christmas day
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you
You baby

I won't ask for much this Christmas
I don't even wish for snow
I'm just gonna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe
I won't make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick
I won't even stay awake to
Hear those magic reindeers click
'Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do
Baby all I want for Christmas is you
Ooh baby
All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of children's
Laughter fills the air
And everyone is singing
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won't you bring me the one I really need
Won't you please bring my baby to me...

Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for
I just want to see my baby
Standing right outside my door
Oh I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is...
You

All I want for Christmas is you... baby (repeat and fade)

my favorite version is the one in Love Actually. it's so cute!

HOWDY PARTNERS.

Yesterday it was snow and the day before that was 4 above zero.....today it is HUMID outdoors and raining.....the temps are up to fifty.....can you believe that..no wonder we are all nuts....I mean alot of sicknesses going around.....

Last night I actually slept MORE then the previous three nights......maybe this mattess is worth it.....I sure hope so.......No more burping the other bed....and wiping it down.......and making sure it is tucked in right.......cause you would jump in and the bedding went haywire.....now figure ....hubby, Megara and moi...trying to vie for covers and jockieing.....for position.....I have never spelt jockieing......so if that is wrong forgive me.....if its right......way to go piggy..

I made a chocolate cream pie yesterday instead of the apple pie......and it was delicious with whipping cream on top....yummy.....hubby now says....make an apple pie before we have to throw those apples OUT the door........so okey I will do that today.

I have my little american cocker spaniel sitting next to the computer.....it is adorable......fluffy body and ears.....looks just like shelby the neighbors cocker......

Have a great day everyone.
Today is my moms anniversary......cant believe she died a year ago today..seems like it was yesterday.....

For Mrs the King:

Hi, I am Steph. I pop by when life lets me. I have an unfinished trip report that life has not let me work on much. I am NOT complaining though!

You must know that I have been trying to read your trip report during my lunch hours at work. I read the best sections out loud to my co-worker. She's a closet Disney freak, I am trying to convert her. So, keep up the jiggler stories.

As for the rest of ye merry moovers: MOOO!
:yay:

Hey Steph!! I am so glad you like my crazy report. It brings me endless joy to know that families and co workers gather around to read about my bodily functions and how, as I get older I am losing control over them. I am 34 now, so I figure by the time I am 84 I should be living in a giant hamster ball to protect bystanders when I sneeze and every hole I have cuts loose. :sad2:
Mrs. The King,

Important piece of information:

Steph is the avatar fairy!!!!!!!

I reference NM, Lala, (from Zzubs reports) myself, just as a couple of examples.
Steph, MOO to you too!

Steph is a fairy!! What does and avatar fairy do?

And a big old HI to all the Mooovers. I bet you are all as busy as I am. Christmas is out to kill me.:scared:

1. are you trying to get on my good side Rob(bie)? waffles are good, but pancakes are perfect. duh

2. :cool2:

3.

4. I forget how emulate-ing worthy I am sometimes. @@

5. bawk, bawk, bawk chickendork!

Thanks for the mini TR!!!! and I loved the food report. The creme brulee is delish there. Only a doofus would order the s'mores.
1. I thought every side of yours was your good side. ;)

3. You know it to be true. Look at all those losses piling up this season.

It is! Well, I have another eaten at that restaurant BUT I may have had three orders of creme brulee, in one sitting, at Epcot's French bakery/pastry shop.

this has to be one of my favorites too!

I really can't stay
(but baby it's cold outside)
I've got to go 'way
(but baby it's cold outside)
this evening has been so very nice
(I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)
Oh my! One of mine too. I've had the Esther Williams / Ricardo Montalban version (my preferred version) on my iPod for the last couple of years.

Ok, I don't know that I have a definite Christmas favorite but this is one that I always enjoy hearing:

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will one day walk on water?
Did you know
That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
That your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered
Will soon deliver you...

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Did you know
That your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?
Did you know
That your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
And when you kiss your little boy
You've kissed the face of God...

Mary, did you know?
The blind will see
The deaf will hear
And the dead will live again.
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of the lamb.

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Did you know
That your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know
That your baby boy is heaven's perfect lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding
Is the great I am.

It's hot and sticky today. So I will not be posting any Christmas songs about stupid cold and stupid snow and stupid fireplaces.

BbN- you "took" MY song! I love Baby It's Cold Outside! I love that scene in ELF too. (The Johnny Mercer/Margaret Whiting version is the best)

Hmmm, I have a couple to go with each of my personalities :rolleyes1:

Santa Baby the Benita Jones version available on iTunes, it's a jazzier and sexier and easier to sing loudly when no one's watching

Santa baby, slip
a sable under the tree,
For me.
been an awful good girl,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa baby, a 54 convertible too,
Light blue.
I'll wait up for you dear,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Think of all the fun I've missed,
Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed,
Next year I could be just as good,
If you'll check off my Christmas list,

Santa baby, I wanna yacht,
And really that's not a lot,
Been an angel all year,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa honey, there's one thing I really do need,
The deed
To a platinum mine,
Santa honey, so hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa cutie, and fill my stocking with a duplex,
And checks.
Sign your 'X' on the line,
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Come and trim my Christmas tree,
With some decorations bought at Tiffany's,
I really do believe in you,
Let's see if you believe in me,

Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing,
A ring.
I don't mean on the phone,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight,
Hurry down the chimney tonight,
Hurry, tonight.

and...

Oh Holy Night sung by Josh Groban... I get goosebumps!

Ok, here's my donation to the Christmas song game: ;)

I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas! by Gayla Peevey

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
Don't want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy
I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door,
that's the easy thing to do

I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles, no rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hippopotamuses like me too

(Short Music Interlude)

Mom says the hippo would eat me up, but then
Teacher says a hippo is a vegeterian

(Short Music Interlude)

There's lots of room for him in our two-car garage
I'd feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage

I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a hippo hero standing there

I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles or rhinoceroseses
I only like hippopotamuseses
And hippopotamuses like me too!

Oh and I just got a Hallmark ornament that plays the song for me. ;) It looks like this:

Sorry I couldn't get the picture to copy, probably a copyright thing or sumpn'.

Enjoy!

Dido Christmas Day~ I love this song so much

The young gentleman came riding past
on a snow-blue winter's day
He asked to drink by our fire and
I was pleased to let him stay
He drank there quietly for a while
and then he turned and said to me

Your eyes are green
Like summer grass
Your lips are red
like a fresh-cut rose
Your hair is soft
like an Irish stream
And your voice is filled with sweet beauty

And the last words I heard him say were
I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day

And the night will come but I won't sleep
as I watch the stars that lead him
I cannot place where he is
but still my heart goes with him
I'm saving all my Sunday clothes for the day
that I'll be leaving
Father knows
My sister knows

And my friends
They're happy for me
And the priest he says
you should thank God
for the blessing of such beauty

And the last words I heard him say were
I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day
I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day

On Christmas Day
I shall return for you
My love...

And the last words I heard him say
Were the last words I ever heard him say

I shall return for you my love on Christmas Day
I said I will return on Christmas Day
And yes, I shall return on Christmas day
I shall return, for you, on Christmas Day
My love
I will return on Christmas Day
I shall return ,my love, on Christmas Day
On Christmas Day

Oh, that sounds so sad! :( He never came back?

And Steph (Javamom, the avatar fairy) designs avatars of course. IF she is so inspired.

Well, I had a frustrating afternoon. We (as in my regional office team) were supposed to go sort "Toys for Tots" this afternoon from 12-5 as volunteers. We even got Disney Volunteer shirts for free (from Disney, not the Salvation Army).
Well, so I had Mapquest directions and the address.

I could NOT find the place, at all!! I cruised around for an HOUR trying to find it!
So at 1pm, I gave up and went home, and just did work from home. But I feel like a total dork!

But I can quote address numbers (roughly) for businesses in the area (nowhere near where I live) as proof that I actually TRIED!

My four grandkids think that this Christmas song is the bestest....

Grandma got run over by a reindeer
walkin' home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa.
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

She'd been drinkin' too much egg nog.
And we'd begged her not to go.
But she'd forgot her medication,
and she staggered out the door into the snow.

When we found her Christmas mornin,'
at the scene of the attack.
She had hoof prints on her forehead,
And incriminatin' Claus marks on her back.

Grandma got run over by a reindeer,
walkin' home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

Now were all so proud of Grandpa.
He's been takin' this so well.
See him in there watchin' football,
drinkin' beer and playin' cards with cousin Belle.

It's not Christmas without Grandma.
All the family dressed in black.
And we just can't help but wonder:
Should we open up her gifts or send them back?
(Send them back)

Grandma got run over by a reindeer,
walkin' home from our house Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
But as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

Now the goose is on the table.
And the pudding made of fig.
And a blue and silver candle,
that would just have matched the hair in Grandma's wig.

I've warned all my friends and neighbors.
"Better watch out for yourselves."
They should never give a license,
to a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves.

Grandma got run over by a reindeer,
walkin' home from our house, Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and Grandpa, we believe.
(Sing it Grandpa)

Grandma got run over by a reindeer,
walkin' home from our house, Christmas eve.
You can say there's no such thing as Santa,
but as for me and Grandpa, we believe.

Merry Christmas

BUT FOR THIS GRAMMA ....I hate this song.......we stayed at All Star Movies one Christmas a few years back and they played this song over and over again.....and a few other not so overly religious songs.....

I made shrimp alfredo for supper......it was so dang good....I love MAINE shrimp....hahaha

I had no idea! I always sang it happy in my head, thinking he came back. See what printing the lyrics does to you?

Today was quite the day. We had not ONE but TWO birthdays. One mom brought cupcakes and ice cream cups at 11:30 and one mom brought cupcakes and juice boxes at 3:00. After which I promptly sent the little buggers home. Heh. As it should be!

Marita...that sounds like something I would do. Not that I ever get lost on the way to my destination. :rolleyes1 You need GPS. If I was wealthy, I'd get it for you for Christmas!

L...schlumphy? Really? Your words get wIerder and wIerder by the minute, I swear. Good luck with schlumphs-a-lot.

Lexi...good to see you! My assistant "didn't have time" to watch A Christmas Story. :sad2: So much for my cultural education plan.

I propose we do this with PJ's posts. They MIGHT make more sense. Great idea Marita.:thumbsup2
I propose we do this:
dcaead035b3e1ffd02ec32392d9e49e794b905e9.jpg

with all your posts. They MIGHT be less annoying.

Cel...I can see why Bella reminds you of me since all the guys want her.
p.s. I would totally choose Jacob. Edward's too sparkly.

pumba...I'll remember you in my prayers tonight. I know that's a hard day. Also, glad to hear you're finally sleeping better. Not sleeping is so yuck!

Allie...I still remember the first time I heard that song. I've always thought it was very strange. lol.

MTK...I've never heard that song. Also, I'm not sure I get it....

Thank you to all who participated in the song posting!! That made me so happy!!! I thought everyone was going to roll their eyes at me. Can I keep going since there are 15 days till Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??

Okay. Now you have to post your favorite Christmas food. Mine would have to be the cookies. Definitely the cookies! I can pretty much take or leave most food in life (except pizza), but give me a Christmas cookie and it's all over. YUM. Man I want to make cookies now....
