Hey Allie, good to see you! How are you doing? You've been MIA lately.
We stilled haven't heard anything from Sandy, hope she is OK.

I'm fine, just busy. This is my busiest time at preschool. We have 130 shirts that we have to applique (wonderunder ;) ) in the next two weeks. Our program is the 16th, so they have to be done by then. Also, we just got all of our Christmas crafts in, so they have to get done.

I went out of town for Thanksgiving to visit my parents. My DH stayed behind since his mom had recently had surgery, and we felt guilty leaving her in town by herself. Plus it saved us boarding $$$, which was substantial.

I have corresponded with Sandy via email, so she's ok, just busy.

Don't know when I'll be able to get on again, but know that I am reading along. :grouphug:

DS16 (birthday today) passed his driving exam and now has a driver's license. Citizens are advised to avoid travelling on, or near, public roads in the states of Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma for the next two to five years.

My condolences to you, your nerves and all residents in 12 surrounding states, Rob!

Scary thought, been there, done that! My son got his first cell phone right after the night he plowed into the back of a car at a stoplight at night. He swore the car wasn't there, had no lights on, or whatever. Luckily nobody was hurt but my car (ouch!) I think he was 17 then, but might still have been 16.

It's good to see that you have survived it (for now). ;) :rotfl2: Although, I'll be right there with you in a couple of months. Actually, DS is not going to be able to get his test until he passed Driver's Ed, which he has AFTER his birthday. :thumbsup2 Buys me a couple more months. ::yes::

I had a buddy do this when he was 18 (I was 16). It was a mostly unlit highway on a misty night and the car he hit was broken down at a stoplight, still in the lane of traffic, with no lights on.

One comforting thought I have is that (so far) DS16 is taking it slow and careful. In fact, the driving examiner (?) told DS he was driving TOO slow (probably the first teenager ever to be told that by a highway patrol employee).

Mine is still struggling with just staying in his lane. He makes me a nervous wreck driving my SUV! :scared1: <- that's me riding along with him. :lmao: except it isn't funny while riding. :sad2:

You know what's funny, Allie, my DH is a very safe driver, no ticket or accident is 30+ years (that was his fault anyway, and then only a bump from some idiot behind, maybe twice, the latest this Sunday).
He doesn't drive too fast either, or too slow. But I still get nervous when he drives and I watch the road. I keep wanting to hit the breaks. It's a control thing I guess. On the way back from Alabama in August, after I gripped the dashboard for the 12th time, he said "Would you like to sit in the back?" He wasnt too happy about my paranoia, LOL!
But I said, yes, thanks, and happily sat in the back seat reading a book while NOT watching the road.

Chia cat grass, the perfect gift for cats  Sorry, I just had to rewind to look at this commercial.

UMA, nice ad!

I had a cat once..actually we had lots of cats but one I got after hubby went away to Sicily for his six month deployment after we had been married for a while......so I got a cat and his name was poo poo shooo........he was a siamese cat and poo pooed in hubbies shoe....so his name was a good one...very siamese sounding too if I do say so myself......another good cat was stinky.......I rest my case.....:scared1: and then sir chester yak of pearl harbor was a himalyan......he was just gorgeous.....but Herman was my most favorite of all.......he was a long haired coon cat........so herman was a hand full of fluff....

just a litle fluff about me and my cats.....of the past.....

I just had my evening snack.......15 carbs.......a dixie cup of vanilla ice cream and had it in a big cup with diet gingerale......we call it a bellyache soda......daddy always called it that.....

Good evening, Moovers! Happy Tuesday! I spent the earlier part of this evening enjoying (?) the melodic sounds of my DS practicing "Hot Cross Buns" on his recorder. For the 84th time, or so it seems.

I managed to get some more Christmas shopping done today. To reward my accomplishment, I treated myself to a lovely manicure. :goodvibes

sounds like Natashia did an outstanding job on her report card......as long as a child really tries his or her hardest......that is great .

lynette: yay for natasha. we knew she was a freakin' genius!!!

Thanks Pumba and BBN! Now I can't wait to hear what my son's teacher has to say tomorrow!

:santa: In the spirit of holiday cheer and good will toward all, I bring you the following:

You brought us a red X? Thanks!! It's the color of the season, after all! :cool2:

Evening, all!

MommyP and Allie - Goog to see you! 'Tis the season for busyness.

bbn - :goodvibes Thanks for the snowball  We have quite a bit of heavy white snow, great for packing.

Marita - I don't see a red x, I see a lovely house decorated for Christmas with lots of red bows!

Cute, Lynette!

Wonder what the Twinkie Family did today at the World :)

Pumba - Beef in the sauce instead of venison . . . my kind of sauce! :thumbsup2

Rob - Hope you can afford Christmas after paying for car insurance now
:headache:

Nabbie - I talked with Mari tonight and she doesn't really care about missing Raglan Road, she's willing to go with the flow.

Guess I'd better start throwing stuff into my suitcase :upsidedow

DH brought home Prince Caspian tonight. We missed it when it was in the theaters.

Good movie.

Oh and Wendy I got my book back today, thank you!

I am up way to late....

I had Hannah try on some of her clothes that I packed for her and she has out grown quite a bit. So I am scrambling to see what else she my fit in the way of her older dresses. Must say I can't over pack for her not enough left.

Nicholas is mad because I packed his clothes as well. I told him he still can pack a few things he needs right up until the end.

I will be totally grey when my kids start to drive. I am like Marita a back seat driver and need the extra brake pedal.

Lynette -- thanks for the Christmas picture. Very pretty.

Well I am heading off to bed. Lots to do tomorrow , kids to school, school Christmas mass is tomorrow and Hannah's class is doing the reading etc. and singing Christmas carols. She has been singing Mary's Boy Child all night to me.

WOW, 3 days, Nabbie, WOO HOO!:yay: I still dont remember where you are cruising to or where you stay after.

Hope the weather gets better, it's supposed to get warmer later this week, but DH has to go in for frost control tonight, although the forecast is only for 39. But his boss is a worry wart! So DH just got up to be at work at 2AM.

Lynette, I tried Mozilla, that showed no pic at all, not even a red X. :confused3
But I understand it's a lovely picture. My internet has been in a foul mood tonight. Grinchy, even!

Oh, I asked DH today about the "getting laid off" talk that DD mentioned. Apparently she greatly exaggerated. She asked him not to overboard this year like he always does, and he said he wouldn't in this economy. That there is a chance they offer generous (?) retirement packages. But he would prefer to continue working. No concrete or even vague indications of that happening.
Oh, I also exaggerated his age, he will turn 62, not 63.

What, you think working in Finance means I can count?????? Not without plugging it into a spreadsheet!
