Celery...thank you for that lovely ode to Cookie. I will print it out and tape it to his cage for him to read tomorrow morning.

Twinkessori...sorry to hear you'll be having an ack-worthy week next week. I hate those. Best of luck to you! Here's some pixie dust to send you on your way. :wizard:

Moo...yuck on it taking so long, but WOOHOO on getting your BLT reservation!! :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: How exciting!

Marita...your DD and I must have something in common. Every time I go home, as I'm packing up to leave I start grabbing a bunch of groceries. My mom is always like, what are you doing, that's our food!!!! I seriously stock up when I go home. :lmao:

Hope MommyP and Monica's son are feeling better.

Did everyone end up having a nice weekend? I wonder if we get Desperate Housewives tonight. :scratchin I just ran a ton of errands today and went to the gym. It was 61 and sunny here today...how strange for February! I need to do my planning for next week now. Monday is the 100th day of school and Friday we'll celebrate Valentine's Day...what a fun week! I'll be sure to plan plenty of shenanigans for both events.

Yep, thats the pattern. And Dear dad buys her whatever she desires...

Desperate Housewives is listed as being on for tonight.

I got a a message from Delswife, how awesome is that? The one of love you mean it fame. On facebook. Almost as aweseome as getting a PM from ZZub once

Peej - Yay! Maybe cookie can eat it after he reads it? Don't hamsters like paper?

I know nothing about that. I just always tell them "but I neeeed it." And put on my sweetest little face. Works like a charm.

I usually put a few tissues in his cage after I change it and he seems to enjoy making a bed out of them. Perhaps the poem could serve the same purpose. Unless I'm not actually planning on printing it.

The Grammy's are on??! DH always avoid flipping past awards shows when they're on. We were watching Dan in Real Life that he TiVoed a while back.

I'll have to watch Brothers & Sisters later.

We went to the theater this afternoon and saw Gran Torino. Man, does Clint Eastwood look old in that movie :scared1: And I was kind of shocked at how racist the character he plays is. But it was filmed here in Michigan, so it was kind of interesting to see.

Hmmm. DH and I always watch different shows. Seperate TVs are a wonderful thing. (then again he goes to bed by 5 pm durng the week)

Im going to Germany in May. Did I say that already?

Mony - OUCH on the ear infection. I got a really bad one at about that age too.

Well, my/our taxes are filed. We made about 9K more this year than last, and paid a bit more in taxes are well. Gotta change my witholding, though, or we will end up owing the Fed next year. Unless one or (Gawd forbid a millions times) more of us ends up losing our job due to state of the economy. I keep praying that those that decide not to buy a new house, will at least be able to afford to remodel the one that they have and keep me employed.

As usual, we had to pay more to the State. Ticks me off when I realize that my tax dollars are not being spent well. Oh well, in a few years someone else will be in the Governor's office doing just as carpy a job as the current occupant.

I hate politics, and politicians nearly as much.

Gotta go.

Have a great tomorrow!

Steph, I lost my DD as a tax deduction this year. To her great delight and my deep sorrow. I know I have to pay out the nose this year, and I am procastinating on doing the taxes. But to all that delight in getting refunds I say, you just overpaid all year and didnt pay down your bills and paid all the extra charges on credit card interest while earning no interest on the overpayment of taxes.

OK, I'm bitter, but its true. Getting a big refund is nothing more than you overpaid all year. So there, I said it. (Not to you Steph, readers in general). I'll have to increase my withdrawal next year. Unless I lose my job, in which case that is an entirely different story.
But I will pretend that won't happen for now.

OK, stepping off my soap box now...

If it hadn't been for claiming my oldest for the last year (sob), we would have owed about 1500. I don't really care about getting a big refund, but I REALLY do not want to owe, evah!

Good morning everyone! I'm headed to Pittsburgh. Be good!

Oh - and I think I have a virus on my computer. internet explorer won't work at all (and it's required for part of my work software).
I'm using mozilla firefox right now. fun!
I'm sure I'll get a lecture from the IT guys later.
:sad2:

He is doing great. Mind you, he spent months on casual duty, meaning he did nothing all day but check in for 10 minutes in the morning. But now he is back in training.

I went to High School in Germany and College at night for 10 years. I dont even know any names...

And what is wrong with laziness?????:confused3

In other news, DD stopped by and almost killed my 15 yr old dog by taking him for a walk. His hips aren't working so well anymore. He barely made it in the house and collapsed, poor thing!
She didn't have time to make chicken noodle soup for DH due to some studying she has to do, but managed to liberate a ginormous bag of groceries from the house, and some of the chicken fricassee I made yesterday. I was dissed for not telling her I made it. Who knew she likes it (it containes butter)?????? And she mentioned Heart Attack on a Plate even, which I havent made in years and could get any more rich with fats (sweet cream, sour cream, cheese, pork, salt pork, etc) But boy is it delicous! Serve with French bread.
This is my fat-free living daughter talking? I wouldn't dream of telling her of HAOAP if I made it, and would probably get scolded again.

Talked to my Mom today, and its looking pretty sure I am going for her 95th birthday in May. For those more experienced in travel, is it generally better to book early or close in?

Off to take a shower. and then eat dinner. and then maybe a nap. Or vise versa
I think cure was the wrong choice of verbs... enable is what I meant. Here's a cute saying about laziness I found, "Laziness pays off now". I concur with with this statement 10000% . I hope you'll forgive me. I can scooch over to the other side of the pasture for you. My head is hanging so low now.

Your dd took the meal you worked so hard to make? Did she know the love and care you took to make it? Did you get to eat any of it before she took off with it and some more of your food? How's your dog feeling today?

How exciting that you are going to Germany in May. My dh prefers to close in on airline deals, but now that the airlines are all screwy, he just keeps his eye open for the best deal can find.

Did you like the film? C Eastwood seems to pull off shocking characters, how do you think he did this time? Did you recognize any locations through the movie? I had no idea it was filmed in Michigan, how moootastic!

Have a great trip! Don't get lost in the city of Black and Gold otherwise known as SIXburgh! I wish I could go with you.

Enjoy the morning everyone Here's extra :wizard: for those who aren't feeling so goog. :wizard: and extra  for the kiddies.

Feeling better today. No fever and aching.

No big plans. Chad has school tonight. But he might have to miss so he can get back to town and get some papers notarized.

Yesterday my fever broke long enough for me to make dinner. But it came back before I could even eat much. I wanted homemade chicken noodle soup, which Chad was going to make. I took a nap, he woke me up after 30 minutes so I wouldn't feel bad for sleeping too long and I felt better. Enough to throw the soup on. lol. At least I didn't have to clean it up since I was feeling badly again. ;)

I plan on turning the couch around this afternoon so I can catch up on shows I've missed on the computer.

Gotta go wrangle the boys up. They are supposed to be doing math but there is a paintball gun at the table instead. :confused3

ETA: BO is coming to the next town over tomorrow. :scared: There are rumors he is coming here to tour the desolate houses sitting all over the place. Can't say it's the best idea. lol. This is a pretty republican area and I'm sure that all these gun toting rednecks aren't thrilled with him getting so close to their comfort zone.

Yes. They were. Kenny Chesney sang and Sugarland and then Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus did a duet of a Taylor Swift song. I don't care for Miley Cyrus but I have to say they sounded very nice together. I was impressed.

Im going to Germany in May. Did I say that already?
If you did I was skimming. That's so exciting! :cool1:

100th day? That means we're closer to being done! Have fun planning for the kids.
Yep. We are required to have 187 instructional days in this district. More than halfway done now!

Re: Taxes. I have no idea how to do them or what to do with them or where to do them or anything of the sort.

I have to tell a continuation of the birthday story from Friday because it's still bothering me. After the whole TWO cupcake, ice cream cup, pringles, juice box fiasco was over, there were a few little extras left. My assistant and I ate some of them and planned to give the kids each a second cupcake on Monday. We put the extra pringles in the cabinet. All the time we have issues with kids not getting lunch so I thought they would come in handy in those situations. So this morning at 8:30 the phone rings. It's the mom of the birthday girl. She told me in a not so nice tone that she had expected the extras to come home with Julia on Friday. Ummm......first you don't call me in advance to plan this, then you won't come when it's convenient for us, THEN I have to pass all the crap out and deal with it and you have the nerve to tell me to give you 3 little things of pringles back???? For real?

To balance that out...a positive moment in the day. At recess (where it was 68 and sunny btw) one of my favorite little buggers came up to me and said "Miss Lauren, your coat is so fly, will you be my valentine?" :lmao: Then another one came up behind him and said "no, she's taken." :lmao: :lmao: Give me 7 year olds fighting to be my valentine on a playground over sitting in an office any day.

So since when are lil blue and I the same person? :confused3

Color me pj.
or maybe she's purposely spreading her confusion around!

I arrived in the pits.
I went to the wal mart and bought a cooling tray for my laptop. we'll see how it works.
I went to the office.

Then I went to the hotel.
that is under construction (I knew that).
which means the workout room is still not working - so I can go to a gym and pay 10 bucks then hilton will credit it to my room, only I don't pay for my room so that won't help.
And then the special room key maker is broke, so the front desk has to walk you to your room every time you leave it (unless you prop the door open like me - shhh!).
so then I get to my room and there's no microwave and fridge.
so I go back downstairs with the lady and cook my food in the lobby until they find me a fridge and microwave across the hall.
yay!
and then I do all my school reading for the whole week!
yay!
then I do some serious hall/stair/outside hill jogging/walking for thirty minutes!
yay!
so now I'm rewarding myself with a drinkie poo.

P.J-- cute kids story. I bet you have a lot of teachers pets in your classroom. I am opposite. I don't want any left overs to come home. I tell them give them away if you can at the end of the day.

It was also our 100th day today too. Didn't even know it until I saw some of the teachers dressed up like old ladies. All the grade one students were dressed up like old people too with canes and fake glasses, curlers in there hair. It was pretty funny. All the kids had 100 written on their cheeks.

Can't say was really busy today...I did bake today. And the rest of the time I was reading. I really should have been doing the wash but there is always tomorrow.

Nab, that is funny about the kids dressing like old people.

Peej Taxes: 1040EZ, piece of cake!

And the Noive of that mother

I dont recall EVAH sending treats to school for birthdays. Maybe its not a Florida thing or maybe I was as just ignorant?

The only thing I remember is doing Valentines Day cards.

ETA: I just polled my kids on the birthday treat thing.

DS:
My birthday is in August, so there was never school in session then (DUH!) And I was upset cause I never got any treats in school for my birthday

To clarify, he was upset that because there was no school on his birthday (tmBBN)

DD:
Daddy would send some cupcakes sometimes
But her birthday is November 21, so a lot of times it falls in Thanksgiving week.

So there you have it. No wonder I don't remember. DH came to the rescue in times of need.

Cel, stay out of trouble!

Not that anyone asked, nor did I expect them to, but I was busy fulfilling my civic duty today. Yes, I had jury duty. It was my first time. I learned a lot. I didn't get chosen, but that's ok. It wasn't a case I would have wanted to hear. :scared: :sad2: Although, all of us "rejects" had to go back up to the jury holding cell, which was a nice place with.......:surfweb: So, I was able to read, but didn't sign on to post 'cause it was an unsecured connection, and wanted to be internet safe. ;)

They gave me a small paycheck and a cerificate that said "Thanks for your service Ms. Allie", and I was outta there by 3:45. :thumbsup2 And they don't need me for the rest of the week, so I get to go to DD's Technology Fair later in the week, AND I can be there for my little munchkinz party on Friday! :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :cool1:

Peej - Coming from a mama and teacher (be it preschool, but I'm still a teacher ;)) that lady has a lot of NERVE!! I would never expect it back and like NAB, I don't want it back. Most of our mama's say that if there is leftovers, give them to the teachers. :) I would have done the same thing you did.
