I think Marita was planning to be gone for two weeks. Hope she's having a good visit.

Nabbie - Glad you had a nice holiday with your family! I'm thinking about making a turkey dinner on Sunday since Mari is leaving on Monday and won't be home for Thanksgiving.

Peej - Yep, EVERY family has its drama. Sending some prayers and a big hug for you :grouphug:

Lil G - Would that be Sparty dwarf who wears green??! :lmao: Or maybe Dopey?

Cel - Is that Riley pup that I see?!! :goodvibes

bbn and Sandy - Guess I need to finally read the Twilight books too  To see what all the hype is about.

p.s. I was glued to my seat, but that was because I was reading and napping . . . :3dglasses

How many more sleeps, Sandy? :woohoo:

MommyP - When I think of "Mother", I think of my Grandma way up in her 80s (and older) and my mom and her sibs calling her that in a respectful way. As opposed to having that exasperated or disrespectful tone of voice that I'm sure you're thinking of ;)

Hayden The purse turned out real cute. peej prayers and hugs. Families have to have strife to make life fun. When is the last time any one has heard from Martia ? Good Night everyone (Nab HAPPY Thanksgiving)

GOOOD MORNING!

Been waking up late so have to ketchup here in the afternoons.

Monica
....Cellular respiration? dissecting rats? Better you than me. Glad the eye is gonna be OK.

PJ....I hate drama. I always wonder why some grown up people don't have the ability to help and make things better for others. I suspect folks like that have issues of their own. All the screaming and arguing in the world is never gonna change anything. Prayers for you and your sisters.

Moo....You'll like Twilight. It's a love story. It's an adventure. It's a fantasy. It's four weekends I'll never get back. Wait til the weather gets cold.

Celery....Ya never drive through lexmelinda country to get to old Peej country? Hurumph.

BNCG....Sign in blood? At the hospital? Too much information. :scared:

NABBIE.....Happy Turkey Day! Do you eat turkey for Thanksgiving up there?

MommyP, Twink, Sandy, Lynette, everybody..........:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

ACK! Another youtube! Too much time to download with this stinkin dial up. *sigh*

1. Am I invited to this event?

2. double check your fan before you go to bed tonight.

1. If you sign in blood

2. I hate you.

hey peej -
life sucks.

HEY. Peej stole my life sucks and then you die quote. except if you're a vampire then you dont die. you are "eternally damned" or are you? ask carlisle.:upsidedow

the other day I was assisting a doctor with a circumcision, and the baby started crying, and the doctor jokingly said "Hey kid, life sucks" and without thinking I said my usual response "and then you die" and he, the doctor-not the baby-heh, looks at me and says in a mocking voice "Elisabeth! I think that's the most negative thing I've ever heard you say."

and one of the other nurses behind me said "Hey, give her a break. She cant be Pollyanna every day" and another nurse said "yeah, sometimes life does suck. leave her alone"

and the doctor looks at the baby and said "Son, I think you and I are outnumbered here. I think the wise thing to do is for both of us to keep our mouths shut" :rotfl:

p.s. very cute kid pictures1:goodvibes

I am so Thankful for all my friends here.... :goodvibes

I couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

3.gif
Glad you had a wonderful weekend.

One day I'm going to have to read or understand the vampire stuff.. its swwosshes over my head!! (I'm stuck in Regency England! bookwise)

The Twilight series is easy as pie to read. Nothing like Stephen King or Anne Rice and their vampire books. Although I didnt find Anne Rice a hard read. King can get a little confusing sometimes with his myriad of characters. Sometimes I have to stop and think "Now who is this person again???"

1. Am I starting to sound like the babynurse? :scared1:

2. I need to read me a vampire book, too. I feel so left out!

1. You could never sound that cool. Nice try.

2. It aint the vampire books that are making you feel that way....just sayin':rolleyes1

1. Did I mention I have to disect a RAT in a few weeks?

2. Can I pull a Bella Swan and pass out and have an Edward type swoop in and save me?

1. I remember doing all that stuff. The cat dissection was the most interesting. We got to go watch an autopsy being performed too. The formaldyhde (is that spelled wrong? I am neither a biologist nor a spellun king. sorry) was a little strong though.

2. sure
2.gif

bbn and Sandy - Guess I need to finally read the Twilight books too  To see what all the hype is about.

That's why I read them too. The books are pretty good, but I'm not obsessed and I think they pale-MAJORLY-in comparison to my favorites books. ("A Tale of Two Cities" and "To Kill A Mockingbird").

and I like Edward BUT I prefer the character of Jacob. He seems more :duck: manly. Flame away moovers. I'm used to it. Those wenchy nurses I work with think I'm crazy on this point. (except for one, cuz she's cool like me)

Hayden The purse turned out real cute. peej prayers and hugs. Families have to have strife to make life fun. When is the last time any one has heard from Martia ? Good Night everyone (Nab HAPPY Thanksgiving)

Hi Celmama :wave2:

BNCG....Sign in blood? At the hospital? Too much information. :scared:

What happens in the nursery, stays in the nursery. bwahahaha

mony - get our resident biologist to tutor you! She's not busy!
tee hee.

moo - yep, that is the one and only riley pup! He looked so cute in the leaves that me and hayden decided to do a photo shoot.
we couldn't get the digital camera to work so I used my phone -
but then the pictures need a magnifying glass as mommyp pointed out.

melinda - I went through lexmelinda ville the first time and while it's a BEAUTIFUL drive, it seems so much longer.
and getting through lexington is weird because part of it is on highways and not interstate.
I got lost on the way back!
(I thought I could do it without printing out reverse directions - so I wandered around Lexington for a bit)

babycow - love the post. You're extra spunky today. Long shift?

I wrote a few PMs (tee hee. gets me every time) to peej last night.
and I was drinking.
which means I didn't leave the filter on. :scared: and I told her EXACTLY what I was thinking.
we'll see how she reacts.

and if she ever texts me.
(probably not)

MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche; they don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors, filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough doesn't come out of shag carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what the vacuum just sucked up.

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?' and get their answer when a little voice says, 'Because I love you
best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth is not measured by height or years or grade...It is marked by the progression of Mama to Mom to Mother...
Oh, Twinkie, I love that!

I strive to be a real mother. however, like mommyp, i do not wish to be called mother. ever. mom, momma, or mommy works a-ok for me.

we are no further in our quest to design, make, buy at the last minute for an exorbitant amount of money at the Wal-Marts or Tarjay:rolleyes1 Halloween costumes. just sayin

Yesterday, I made a list of nurses and persuaded them to sign in blood get it? blood? that they are committed to going to see the "Twilight" movie when it comes out in NOVEMBER. I stand "resurrected" on the dates. We are going to have a girls night out. Eating. Drinking. Vampire and Werewolf lusting. heh. I will not be lusting though. cuz I still think Edward is a baby!
.
1. I believe "Mother" is my role, "Mommy" or "Mom" is my name (to 4 beautiful humans)
2. Feel free to "shop" in my or Twinkie's minivan for ideas. At this very moment I have grocery sacks, flares, duct tape, and bungee cords. OR, I have costume trunks that rival Miss Piggy's gown luggage you can dig through. My boys decided they are at the age where they will just wear black hoodies and a scarry mask of some sort. I suggested either Scream, John McCain, or the Crypt Keeper with live action worms.
3. The Twilight moms of Utah (and surrounding states) are actually renting an entire movie theater and we're dressing up like our favorite characters. I'm Rosalie. :3dglasses There's a prom themed ball afterward. Yes, I'm going.

YAY!
Great use of smilies, there, James!

Hi Melindee!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving Nabbie Girl!!!

I still need to send in my money for my official twilightlexicon event.
:snooty:
otherwise they'll give my ticket away.

popcorn::

I love when you DIS and drink!

Ha.
I kept it out of the forum though.
You guys didn't even know I was drinking! Cuz I'm smooth.
:rotfl2:

it's hereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
and it is fabulous!

Thank you Mommy P! I love it! The huge width is perfect and I love how it looks. I thought I would be so sad I didn't get jingle bells but I think the undertones of blue are perfect for me. I will need some practice as it is tight on the rings but I love how snug & secure it is when finally on. I feel I can sucessfully do the expedition everest dash ;) and look stylish too.

I'll try to do pictures tonight or tomorrow. I had to skip my smelling nice goal today as it is dark and rainy so we slept in and missed the bus so I had to schlep my kids to school AND walk in and explain why I was a loserfreakmom and then I had to go directly (did not pass go, did not collect $200) to a meeting. My kids (the 4 littles) did look adorable in matchy matchy sweaters (real sweaters not the celery version)... another reason we were late. Priorities. :rolleyes1

Today is voting day and I just came back from doing so. Voting is at my kids school so it was so easy to do. I wish they would have opened the polls at 9:00 instead of 9:30 so I could have done it when I dropped the kids off. Was going to wait until after school but looks like rain and that would be major parking problems at the school then.

Had to get my car serviced so it has been one busy day of running around. Also needed gas because for some reason gas goes up Tuesday nights :confused3 It is almost down to $1./ litre. That is good for here.

happy, happy~popcorn:: ~thanksgiving, nabby.

yes, nabby....making life work...is a challenge..for all of us.

...:grouphug: .

in the many years of :teacher: , the evidence , suggesting

.."we" move back & forth ...on a pendulum. balance..is preventing/
avoiding...those acting on us, and nature...that can push "us"
to the extreme..producing wayward behaviors...that we would
not normally chose. [ no person is 100% sane or insane..100%
of the time..& sometimes...we seem to have..the need to "cut-
lose"...psst, i suspects.."our hormones" & other chemicals/
toxins....can/do build up..to levels..that result ..into feelings
of impulsive..acting out..sometimes...,

why?...i can't stressed..enough..for all the talking..it is connected
to real, positive..behaviors ..and ...in amazments...how lil' changes
adjustments....can have the "power"..to support our mental health
needs. and this lil'area....is something....i am using with..our
interventions. ie, taking a shower/bath..rid our bodies..of toxins,
while reducing our wt..so....we feel lighter...and sharper..in our
thinking...:thumbsup2 ..lil'things..are important.

..so nabby..going back & forth...even.....:rolleyes1 up & down,
is quite normal, by my ways of thinking~

&..we waste..way..too much time..on who's right/wrong, and
fighting "realities"....we don't control..like each others..:rolleyes1

,,,instead of trying to :teacher: ...from mistakes..& influencing
others..with....positive support? very simple and old-fashioned
family values..from the dick& jane readers...

schools?..health care, governments, society....so evident...what
& where ...we can make "great" improvments..with just a lil'
addressing?...

growth ^ developmental needs...are well defined, and the values
are part..of living life to out potential..and yet...we have removed
them...
..fyi, what we seeing?....growth & development...extends way past
priamry school..even thru..college & beyond..just because..our
life changes...with relationships , losses & gains.

anyhoot..hope..it makes..you feel better..your not alone! :goodvibes

mp?..."mother"...or it means..they're all grown up? :flower3:

dopey?....:rolleyes1 ...well i never knew..that. however, moo..
noticed..who got the most kisses from snow white? ..maybe
just a lil'sneaky?

..i could be wrong..but it seem to me, we live with many choices
but they fall into 2 types...across the boards. either we're in
a state of living or dying. if i have my choice..i sorta like the living
part...but sometimes..we don't get to make the final say,

Happy Voting Day Nab! Glad your thanksgiving was yummy. I can't believe how close it is to our Thanksgiving~ my baby will be one year old. Where did the time go?

Monica- If you need help with cellular respiration/photosynthesis I can try to clear things up for you. My mitosis/meiosis lecture is better but the "circle of life" ones are my second favorites.

UtahMAMA- How are you?

Bathroom Update (cause I know y'all are really wanting to know):
wall primed, ceiling painting, base coat almost done (I went with the coffee cream (darker than antique white, lighter than tan) color that was left by the previous owners and is the color of my entry, hallways, front rooms etc

I did fall causing paint to go on the ceiling. The DH is not going to be happy about that. To prevent future mishaps, I left the very t top 2 inches for him. I can't reach them even tip toe on the stepstool.

I did this while the baby napped and goldenchild distributed frosted flakes throughout the living room. I prefer manna:rolleyes: much easier to vacuum.

twinks - are you ok? did goldenchild come use his ninja skills to help you up?
I'm sure his fingers were extra sticky after frosted flake distribution.
:rotfl:

Yay. I'm glad it arrived safely and that you like it. I can't wait to see it in action!

As for your smelling good goal. That's why I shower at night. ;) Stick your hair up in a pony tail, slap on some make up and take the picture soon!

I have to cancel on my friend again tomorrow.Chad's going to be home. Nothing for him to do tomorrow. :guilty:

I think we should set a goal for this thread. I think we should try to keep the sling conversation going for as long as possible. I mean, I am already fascinated by how long we've been talking about slings. BUT, I don't think we've done all that we can do. I think we can keep it up. What do you say? Can we talk about slings even more?!
Disclaimer: I'm just kidding. I don't actually mind the sling talk. It's just that I can only go so long before my inner snark has to come out.

Monica...tell your professor your religion doesn't allow you to dissect. Or maybe you could be morally opposed? I still remember vomiting all over the floor of the 9th grade biology room during frog dissection week. But that's another story for another day. ;)

Moo...thanks for the hug and the Marita update. I knew you would know!

Celerymama...:wave2:

Lexi....thanks for the prayers, etc.

1. If you sign in blood

2. I hate you.
1. is this before or after you force me to get a flu shot? seriously what's with you wanting to torture me? You're warped.
2. Backatcha.

I wrote a few PMs (tee hee. gets me every time) to peej last night.

What, you were drunk last night? Everything you wrote me was perfectly coherent. :rolleyes1 Not at all.

A day in the life of a Peej....

1. My assistant called in sick today for the second day in a row. I'm going to hunt her down if she doesn't show up tomorrow. Don't think I won't. Cuz I will.

2. I got my praxis scores back tonight. I PASSED!!!! :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: As if there was ever any doubt. ;) This means I am officially FINISHED with state testing and will get my actual teaching certificate in the near future. :)

3. And finally (and most importantly)...the new Kenny Chesney CD came out today!! Off to Target to get me a copy! :dance3:

Maybe you would prefer a scintillating discussion on cereal instead? :rolleyes1

Twink- I can't wait to see pics! :lovestruc
And the coffee cream color sounds very stylish for your bathroom.
You wanna borrow Clifford (woofer-dog) to clean up your Frosted Flakes? He and Amber (other woofer dog) are quite efficient flotsam cleaner-uppers. It's how they earn their keep.

Nab- Happy voting day to ya, eh! (sorry, I haven't "eh 'd" you in a while!)

LilG- I prefer the living part too. As fully as possible :thumbsup2

Celery- SMOOTH!

Y'all!!!! I need to whine! I have a KILLER headache today! Right behind my eyes :headache: Not caffeine-withdrawl-related either. I've taken Tylenol and napped in my darkened room. Waaaaah! Whine over.
