Quiet day here today!

Well, it seems my DD is recovering somewhat from the BF breakup. Not that she showed it. But she went out last night with friends and wasn't home yet when I went to bed at 1 am.

I called DS tonight, he made it to Oklahoma to visit his AF buddy, and has 9 hours of driving ahead of him tomorrow to Colorado. I asked him to call so I wouldn't worry about him dying in a ditch on the side of a road. He said ssomething along the lines, I can't call you everyday, I might die in an airplane too!

OK, Fine! I am much less conerned about airplanes than roads. But WHATEVAH! KIDS!!!!!! (well, young adults) They don't know how mothers worry.:scared:

I can use a safe computer of my own (REEEEEALLY badly) and a new batphone with which to play Scrabble (which is code for Wordscraper now).

Edward Cullen....not bad, my cougar friend. Not bad at all :rolleyes1

THAT vacation location would make a purrrrfect Girlfriends Only destination, eh????

Does that Porsche come in pink? And the Mojito(or two) I drank yesterday made me retain water today so I'll prolly need to stick with virtual alchy-hol hencetoforth.

So, You'ns (which is "Y'all" plus 4), thanks soooo much for remembering my birthday! ;) It means a lot to me, really! :grouphug:

sorry I missed wendys party.....I think you guys had a great time.....

Baby Brielle died Friday morning ......she had a tough last few days but the doctors and nurses made sure she was comfortable ......my poor niece and the grandparents are of course devastated...we all are..

ON the way home at the Philly airport ......the lady that takes the tickets at the counter at our gate......came over to me and asked if I was a fan of Liza Minnelli and I said oh yah..love her music.......well she was on this flight coming iinto our gate....so I start looking and the first person off was this HUGE HUGE 7foot tall man......he was a Philly 76ers basketball player.......retired I think......Darryl Dawkins. and then Liza came off. A small person with the same hats she always wears. She had the arm of her fermale assistant helping her walk to the motor cart. I thought she looked pretty sad looking.

It was wicked hot in Disney and I really didnt know if I could keep on walking..we are not used to that being up here in Maine...we do have heat and hot days...some up in the 90s too but the humidity and dew points were out of site......today it is chilly when we went to get Megara at the kennel.she missed us .........

we had hubbies birthday party .....we celebrated in Disney on his real birthday.....even got him his button......we ate at Crystal Palace for that night.....Other then that.....no reservations to be had.....we walked up to alot of places and even calling didnt work.....but we didnt starve to death .we just ate wherever we were........by the way I love EARL OF SANDWICH.....that place is great....

forgot about the lovebugs EVERYWHERE........had to sweep the fornicating bugs away from our door to get into our room......and the snake in the pool on wednesday was an added bonus to our experience of DISNEY

Oh Pumba, I'm so sorry to hear about baby Brielle. :sad1: I know that is very hard to deal with.

Now there is another precious angel in heaven though. I'll pray for you and for the Brielle's family. Y'all need them right now. :grouphug:

Pumba-- prayers to the baby's parents and your family. How sad she sounded like she put up a good fight but she is in good hands now.

A snake in the pool :scared1: Where did you stay? And do you mean it was hotter then last Sept !! I will stick to winter months and no hurricanes watches.

We didn't get the rain they called for yet. Maybe while we are sleeping.:confused3 They get us all worked up and then nothing.

Pumba, baby Brielle became one of our thread babies here, a lttle MOOver!. Hugs and prayers for the whole family. :grouphug: She is a little  now!

Please tell her parents that the baby has a lot of imaginary friends sending prayers to all of them.

Oh, Pumba! :sad1: So sorry to hear about Brielle :grouphug:

Lex and Nabbie - We have had a ton of rain this weekend, but fortunately it hasn't been too windy. It looks like a small lake in our side yard and a lot of fields are flooded. All the devastation for the hurricanes down south :sad2: I had to stop watching the news.

BH - Sounds like you had a nice get together with your buddies

Wendy! Glad you had a nice-ish birthday! :thumbsup2

Marita - Safe travels for your son. Glad your daughter is moving on

My DD and hubby are going on a driving trip to the Upper Peninsula tomorrow for five days for his job. He will be glad to have her company as it's a LOT of driving.

Moo, what does your DH do for work?

I am feeling the need to call in sick for a day. I still havent picked a suitable day thoug. I have 56 hours, seems a shame to let them all go! I really AM sick of work!

Oh shoot , I need to do someonline shopping. I need sweaters. Anyone have any good sites???

Pumba...Im so sorry for your loss...We will be praying for your family

Marita - My hubby is going up north to take some roadway measurements. That is only a small part of his job though. He mostly keeps a database of information about some of state's roads and does an annual report which helps Michigan to get federal money for roadway maintenance and replacement.

Nabbie - Looks like you've been working on some more high scores! I played ScrabbleBlast Friday night and didn't realize how late it had gotten once I surpassed my previous high score. It's amazing how much time can pass when you get engrossed in a game :confused3

Hi Nab....I hope the wind calms down before it gets to you....we had 40mph winds and 60mph gusts...Louisville area got hit hard with 80 mph gust widespread power outages majot damage and 237000 people with no power...no injuries:thumbsup2

Hi Marita, we are about 40 miles south of where the damage area is ....My sisters house was hit by wind damage...they just said a 10 year old boy in Shelby County died when he was out playing and a limb feel on him on the news.

OH NOOOO!
So sorry, Pumba! :sad1:

Pumba-welcome back from your trip. I always enjoy your little dashes of humor in your posts (fornicating bugs!:rotfl: )

I am so sorry to hear about Brielle. I will continue to pray for her parents and family.

Monica- Tim is still on my list too. Update us here or link us to where you are updating. I am too busy these days to keep up with multiple threads, trip reports etc.

I was treading water schedule wise but 1st grade homework (times two!) starts Monday. :scared: Plus somehow my days are all full of meetings and whatnot:confused3

Other news: I did get the free dining in dec code. Still no soup for me on my dates though and I think it would be a wash with having to pay change fees on the tickets. And I don't think my sister can reapply for vacation days.

The silk baron hasn't returned my call. I reallllly want the Jingle Bells silk but I may have to look into other options if he doesn't call me tomorrow.

GOOG MORNING!

The wind did lots of damage here yesterday. Lots without power and several roadways blocked due to fallen trees. The rain we REALLY needed never fell.

Pumba....So sorry to hear about sweet little Brielle.

Hound....I saw a big oak fall very near our house during high winds once and I never let my kids go out and play in it. I was shocked to find all the neighborhood boys out playing when we arrived home yesterday. I drug DS in the house and invited them all inside.

Marita....Glad to hear DD is going out and DS is not in a ditch somewhere. My mom always used that "ditch" expression too.

Wendee....Glad you liked the gifts. You'd rather go to the deserted island with US than with Edward. I'm touched.

Twink....I hear ya on the schedule. Monday is my only free evening and Emily's birthday is Thursday so this Friday is her party. :scared: Don't get too involved in the homework. Just sit them down and give them a time limit. I find DS does better if I make him have it done by the time I get home from work. It's always right and there's no hassle...ie.....I SAID sit down and do yer homework!!!

Everybody.....:wave2:

HERE WE GO AGAIN.....HAVE A GOOD WEEK!

Morning all,

I guess we got all our bad weather while we were sleeping. Toronto got it more then we did, they had trees down and lots of high winds and very little rain. It is trying to rain here now but we walked in the drizzle.

BH-- that poor boy. I am like Lexi my kids would be in. Heck I send them in when it is raining out. Which I guess is weird since I send them out in the snow which does the same thing to them, they get very wet.

Moo-- I still want to know your secret of staying on so long. I did the Gems one and had high score but of course didn't record it because it logged me out... I promise I won't take your Scrabble score....:flower3:

Marita-- Glad your dd is moving on. Just think you will get to meet another boyfriend some day for the first time. Unless she gets back together with an old one.

Sage advice. My standard line with my oldest is "I already passed *insert number* grade. In fact, I had straight As". Heh.

However this is first grade homework. It involves them reading out loud to me every night.:scared: (both of them! ack!) Plus me reading out loud to them.:thumbsup2 Plus a worksheet packet. All in all there are 4 files- some which need to be done/turned in daily (2), one weekly, and one monthly. I need a dayplanner just to keep up with first grade.

Here is a true confession: ever since I learned to read, I don't like being read out loud to.... and I really don't like listening to early readers read aloud. When I volunteer at school (two babies ago), I volunteer to teach/tutor math- NOT listen to more painful early readers. I do love to read out loud to my kids.

Where is the BBN? I just finished pancakes with Nutella on them. :yay: It is like cake for breakfast. :dance3:

Twinkie - Does anyone like listening to an early reader read outloud? It's like nails on a chalkboard.

Have you ordered your jingle bells yet?

I am DYING to see it!

I finally used my pink silk from you yesterday. I can't take a picture because my camera is sent away to be fixed. I made it 42ish inches wide and I LOVE it! I did it with one shoulder first and I hated it, so I took it all out and just folded the fabric in half and the gathered it through the rings. I'm finding it much more comfortable. I only put one row of stitch in it so I could take it out easily again. lol. I am going to try a true gathered shoulder in a bit. To see how I like that. I do LOVE the width of the sling though. Very secure around my big fatty.(Isaac) and I could easily recline him down(with legs sticking out) and nurse him hands free walking around.

Has anyone seen Baby Mama yet? SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNNY!

The Lousivlle area had constant winds of 50mph and gust from 75 to 81 mph ...now they are saying 301000 people are without power and it will take 10 to 14 days for them to get back power....they have all those crews deployed to help with Gustov power outages and they are beging recalled and should be back to Louisville Wensday and Thursday..

.Some good news for your Golf fans...the Ryder Cup is still on ...the area was not hit nearly as bad and cleen up should be done today....for the practice rounds this afternoon.
