Mommyp - ack on the passing out!

marita - it cracks me up that you forget some stuff but remember Jordan burning the microwave!

wendy - I'll take each of your kids for a bit - but one at a time only!

Yo, Moovers! ;) Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend! My annual end-of-summer cookout went well today, and I am happy just to be able to sit and relax now.

Among the people who came over today was my Grandma, who is almost 90. It's always such a blessing to have her come to my house. I feel so very lucky to still have her around, and to have her be part of my kids' lives. They are both so solicitous of her, waiting on her hand and foot, and being sweet to her. I feel like having her makes up a tiny bit for not having my dad around.

So, now I have 28 kids. Oy. I'm thinking there could have been a better way of handling the situation. I think a phone call letting me know I was getting another student may have been in order!! HA-RUMPH!!!

Ack! That's a lotta kids! Boris and Natasha's classes have 18 and 16 kids, respectively. Do you get a TA? Combat pay? Yipes! :scared:

I harumph the principal on your behalf for not giving you the courtesy of a advance notice before adding a child to your class.

I know! I know!!!!
except I am the opposite: I am fine in an actual emergency, however even thinking about it makes me keel over

Me too, Twink! The thought of blood, stitches, broken bones, or internal trauma of any sort leaves me in the fetal position with the urge to beurk. But I do very well in emergencies (as long as I'm not the one bleeding, that is).

Wendy, did you take any pictures? Geesh don't leave me hanging like that.

MP, I read about that on facebook. Here you gave a lot more detail and I immediately thought of Bella Swan.

BBN-Happy Belated Birthday.

My classes start for me this week and I have a new helper that starts this week as well.

Lexy: my hair is still short too, especially in the back.

I harumph the principal on your behalf for not giving you the courtesy of a advance notice before adding a child to your class.

Advance notice? To me that's not the worst part -
can you imagine being a third grader and being sent to introduce YOURSELF to your new teacher in front of the entire class?!?!?! :scared: I don't think I could've done it.

GOOD MORNING!

Hope everyone is having a goog holiday weekend! It's been beautiful/gorgeous here all weekend. I'm praying for the folks in New Orleans. Today's the day. Again. Question: What would they have to pay you to stand out in a hurricane and report on it like those crazy people on the weather channel?

Yesterday I came home from church to find a new(ish) refrigerator being installed in my kitchen! And its awesome! The bad news: the entire contents of my old refrigerator including all the pictures/drawings/papers/carp from the outside and all the weapons on the top of the frig were scattered around every horizontal surface in my kitchen. Men!

So I got the new(ish) frig cleaned out and most carp picked up etc. by 3:30 so we could watch Kentucky skunk Loo-uh-vull. Sorry, Loo-uh-vull.

I also talked to Emily yesterday and she is all for Mimi getting a Disney trip for Christmas. :thumbsup2 Now I can proceed.

MommyP....Don't look at the blood! Go buy your laundry detergent at Costco! Or don't grate without another grown up!

Celery....How's the weekend in downtown? Couldn't your mom take care of Riley for the weekend?

Monica....I'm not thrilled with the new haircut. It left too much weight at the bottom and my hair is a little curly so any humidity at all turns it into a triangle. :guilty: Praying every day for Tim. When's the surgery? Sept 10th?

Marita....Define January cold in Florida. 50? Should I bring shorts? Or just jeans and polar fleece? I'm really excited now since I might still be able to see the Osborne Lights! :)

PJ....28 is a LOT of kids! And pink eye! Hey! Are you going to be working at Chef Mick's over Christmas break? Will you still be there Jan. 2nd?

Wendee....I think hottness is a requirement for firefighters. Not to change the subject but that Sarah Palin reminds me of you! With dark hair and an up-do. Are you running for vice president without our knowledge?

Moo.....WAKE UP!

Hound....Were you wearing red or blue? Be honest.

Twink, Lynette, everyone......:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT LABOR DAY, EVERYONE!

PJ- yuck pink eye! Twinkie will be getting it soon, She's due for a nice case. Good on the laptop!

So sorry about the pink eye Peej. And thanks for the happy thoughts there Utah. Last week the girls gym teacher had pink eye. She cancelled class for one day and thus far we didn't get it :faint:

1. I would do it. I don't know why. I guess I am crazy :3dglasses
2. Oh my!!!! You are right Melinda. It all makes sense: her scarcity around here, her wishing for a new job, the sudden interest in math :teacher:

Don't worry Wendee! You have my vote.

Speaking of bananas I think I am down to double digits:banana:

Today is our 100 day mark! No, I'll spare you all the 100 bananas. Lucky you twinkie, you are already in double digits.:cool1: :cool1:

Today is my last day to be a bum.

After today, my life is back to chaos.

I have 3 classes, 2 during the day, and 1 at night.

My kids go back to school. Football games start Saturday. Dance classes start, Tim's surgery is on the 10th. I know I will have a test that day.

After about 2 weeks things should get into a rythm.

MommyP....Don't look at the blood! Go buy your laundry detergent at Costco! Or don't grate without another grown up!

I was with a grown-up. But Chad did his finger too. This morning I bumped it and it sent a shock wave of pain and dizziness through my body. :rotfl: It looks just like a block of cheese that was partially grated. :scared:

For the record, I was here before everyone this morning. I was up feeding Isaac before 7, but I didn't post. :)

;) Hey Moovers. Just popping by. I really need to get my TR upated, but I am watching the telethon actually.

Aaaaahhhhh! Nothing like a Monday off, is there? Even though I got up earlyish (7am), I was able to lounge in my pajamas and savor my first latte of the day (I'm on #4 now). I've watched a bit of the telethon, and some of the shows I had DVR'd, and Natasha and I played Barbies for quite a while. Plus, since Boris' 9th b-day is in exactly 25 days, he and I sat and talked for a while about what he wants to do for his birthday. So far, a perfectly delightful day!

Melinda, can we see the new 'do? :hyper:

Wendell, I'd vote for you if you were the Crypt Keeper's running mate! BTW, I played my turns!

Mony, good luck with the start of your classes!

MommyP, I'm still with you on the fainting thing! :scared: Did Twink ever tell us what makes that happen? Maybe there's a NURSE around here who'd know? :confused3

Peej, Twink, Hound, Moo, Marita, Cel, and everyone else: !!!!!!!

Getting ready to head back to the great state of Kentucky. Just thought I'd make one more post, basking in the glory of internet access.

Hi Peej!

Good to see you! 28 kids is alot- I hope you have a helper or four.

I got in trouble at "back to school" night. I thought of you :rotfl:
Just what did you do, young lady?
And I have one helper, who is AMAZING!!! I love her. Then I have one person who wouldn't even qualify as anything except for a pain in the astarstar. I do everything in my power to get her out of my room!
Now about back to school night....
:scratchin

Hey, Peej - glad to hear how you're doing! What were they thinking not telling you about adding a student :sad2:

Hmmm, I wonder how many kids we had in class way back when I was in grade school :confused3 I'm thinking it was 30ish.
Maximum class size in this district is 24. So how they justify 28 is beyond me.

PJ- yuck pink eye! Twinkie will be getting it soon, She's due for a nice case. Good on the laptop!
I'll pass it lovingly along to Twinkie next. Because that's just the kind of friend I am. You're welcome in advance, Twink. Feel free to share it with whoever you wish.
And I'm sure everyone will be relieved when I get a new laptop??

Ack! That's a lotta kids! Boris and Natasha's classes have 18 and 16 kids, respectively. Do you get a TA? Combat pay? Yipes! :scared:
16 or 18 kids sounds glorious!!! Must be nice!! In reality though, it's really not bad.

Advance notice? To me that's not the worst part -
can you imagine being a third grader and being sent to introduce YOURSELF to your new teacher in front of the entire class?!?!?! :scared: I don't think I could've done it.
ITA. I thought that was the worst part too! This little bugger was not at all shy. I was shocked to see him just walk in there like that. I surely would have been in tears if someone had expected me to do that when I was 8. I have already arranged to have a little chat with the principal on Monday. I'll let her know my imaginary friend, Celery, thought what she did was entirely unacceptable. :snooty:

PJ....28 is a LOT of kids! And pink eye! Hey! Are you going to be working at Chef Mick's over Christmas break? Will you still be there Jan. 2nd?
I'll be in Disney December 24-January 3. I'm not sure if I'm going to work a few days, or just slack off. I am thinking I will probably just slack off. You should so totally come!!!!

So sorry about the pink eye Peej.
Thank you for your condolences. It was really nasty and I hope to never have it again! Why do I somehow not see that happening though? Darn kids!

Hope everyone had a goog weekend!
:grouphug:

[Hound....Were you wearing red or blue? Be honest!

Hi, Lexi...since my BIL Graduated from U of L and My Daughter is going to be going to U of L you can guess the rest...i was just lucky to get a ticket...the scalpers were selling them for 100 bucks...the game was sold out...My BIL gets a pair of season tickets ever year and his work friends do too so one of his buddies let me have the ticket for face value...:woohoo:. We were at the tailgate party in the Green "B" lot from 11am then to Game then back to the partytill 11pm...we had a big RV trailer with AC with about 15 to 20 people with a large keg of beer...my BIL cooked ribs and they were awesome on 2 big grills and someone brought Bloody Mary's with home grown ingreadiates before the game and we still have leftovers for today...he cooked hot wings after the game with his own special homemade sause...it was awesome...we were really hot at the game cause the sun was right in our face all the time....it was 110 inside the arena...we drank lots of water an all have red faces....lol

MommyP, I'm still with you on the fainting thing! :scared: Did Twink ever tell us what makes that happen? Maybe there's a NURSE around here who'd know? :confused3

No she hasn't. It sure would be nice to have a nurse around here. ;)

Marita....Define January cold in Florida. 50? Should I bring shorts? Or just jeans and polar fleece? I'm really excited now since I might still be able to see the Osborne Lights! :)

Lexi, it could go to the 30's even, you just never know. You need to pack shorts AND gloves!

Today is our 100 day mark! No, I'll spare you all the 100 bananas. Lucky you twinkie, you are already in double digits.:cool1: :cool1:

Yes, that's what I've really been up to :cool2:

So sorry about the pink eye Peej. And thanks for the happy thoughts there Utah. Last week the girls gym teacher had pink eye. She cancelled class for one day and thus far we didn't get it :faint:

Twinkie, how soon will you start your PTR????? popcorn::

Goog Evening, MOOvers. Hope you all managed to get in lots of relaxation this holiday weekend (like me)! I'm on book number 3. :)

Lex - You keep WEAPONS on top of your fridge??! Yay for the newish fridge though.

Marita - I snagged a Le Cellier lunch reservation and added an extra person in case you can get away :upsidedow

Twink and Mony - w00t on your countdowns!!!!!!!!! Maybe I should get one started.

Peej - You need to start taking some extra Vitamin C, etc. to build up your immunity this fall!

BH - Sounds like you had a great tailgate!!!

Wendee - I didn't realize about the lack of blankes in Wordsraper until you mentioned it :confused3 Maybe they had to do that to be less Scrabble-like. I'll have to see if there is an option to add blanks.

Lynette and Steph - My hubby has been watching the Scrubs telethon. I toadily forgot about the telethon.
