So I finally got a hold of my DD. Apparently they are staying on base right now, but trying to get OFF base. That's about all I got out of her, they were eating lunch.
Oh, and DS made it for his orientation. YAY!

If anyone wants to adopt a cute young female, almost 24, good credentials, comes complete with college degree, I have one available. Free to a good home! Can be extremely charming, even!

She will even cook you healthy meals!

Yes, she cooks (healthy stuff and COOKIES) and cleans the dishes, her room and her laundry. Not sure about the Nanny part, we haven't had too many kids around here.

Actually, she said last week, if she had to do it over again, she would have become a Nuritionist. As it is, she has a totally useless double degree in History and Psychology and going for Masters now as a Guidance counselor.

Picture Bloodhound's borrowed tree pic here. ;)

That's funny BH.

Actually my DD (10) was complaining last night about her spelling work. Well, let me give some background first. Last year, they would take a pre test on Monday's. If they made a 90 or above on the test, they didn't have to do the spelling homework, and got to skip the followup test on Friday. :thumbsup2 Well, DD is a pretty goog speller, so she lucked out of most of her spelling homework. :woohoo: Weellll, this year is different. If you make a 100 (or 90 or above, I'm not really sure yet) you still have to do HALF of the homework instead of ALL of it, if you don't make the grade. Well, they have these different exercises that they have to do and their weighted with points. For example, one of her choices is to give a family member a spelling test with her words, and then she has to grade it. I think she will be opting for this one ALOT. ;) :rotfl2: Anyway, she was telling me that they had to do each exercise on a SEPARATE sheet of paper. :scared1: She was mortified. She said, "Mom, I'm gonna be killing trees just to do my spelling homework." :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I didn't know what to say, except that since those were the teacher's rules, she had to follow them. Gotta love my tree lovin' daughter though.

Marita - Sorry already got one, don't need another. ;) Unless, you would be interested in a trade. :rolleyes1

bad night for the baby.......just got an email from them. Her liver is very enlarged and if it doesnt start to improve she either needs a liver transplant or she may die..
Please continue to keep her in your prayers..

Poor baby, Pumba! Consider her prayed for!

Yesterday was Zach's 10th birthday and we spent the whole day at Comerica Park at the Tiger Game.

Madelyn's 1st birthday is Wednesday.

Belated happy birthing day, and happy birthday to Zach!

Anyway, they got everything loaded and were gone by 8:30 or so. So I could have gone in to work after all :rolleyes1 But I decided to save on gas and dirty emission and all that stuff (for the sake of the enviroment, of course!)

YOU are a true environmentalist, Marita! :lmao: Glad your kids made it safely to their destination!

Hello, everyone! Hope y'all had an excellent weekend! I came to work this morning to find that CBM FINALLY had his techie friend hook up my new computer! Shocking! Unfortunately, he left my old computer hooked up at my desk as well, so it's a bit crowded there now. :sad2: When I asked why, he said, "Well, you never know...." :confused3 Uhhhh, you never know what? You'll never know when you'll need an 8 year old eMachine to use as a doorstop? :confused3 :sad2: Still, it's nice to have a computer that runs Java! Oy!

Hello! I only have a minute here so forgive me if I miss something important.

Lexy- How many days till the most wonderful day of the year? my girls start Thursday and my son on Friday

Pumba- I hope Brielle is doing better. I know how scary this is.

Lynette- Yay on the new computer. Ack on the "you never know".

Monica- Sorry about the birthday tummy troubles. I hope you both had a wonderful day otherwise.

Marita- Glad your kids are ok.

Hi Allie. :rotfl: about the tree killing spelling homework.... and the fact that you will get to improve your spelling this year as well.

Nebo and Smidgy: Welcome to the thread! I really enjoy your humor.
I went on an ironing frenzy this morning. 100% cotton is no longer my friend.

Hey guys. Only here for a second. My computer got hit by lightning and is now kaput. So, my only internet access is via the library (for some reason, my local library hates the disboards) or my gma's. I am at my gma's now, but I am heading to work.

Some of you asked as to my whereabouts, wellllllllllll, now you know the rest of the story. Not a heck of a lot to tell. When we get some moolah, we will have a computer again.

:welcome: to Nebo and Smidgy. I think I recognize the name from SOMEWHERE.

Pumba: I hope all is well with the little one.

BBN, the pox on lighting strikes! Here is wishing for some MOOlah soon. :cheer2: We miss you! Heck, I would load up that credit card so fast!!! Then again,I have no life, LOL!

Where is PJ????

Well guess what? I emailed work and said I am claiming today as a Holiday, since I am getting nothing done. Frigging German work Ethic!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't get paid for sitting on my butt and not actually doing anything, goes against my grain!

Knitfreak said she is scatterbrained too (still on a high from her date) but at least she is in the office. I told her I would claim office time too if I were actually IN the office!

Sounds like you need to brush up on them spelling skills....this should be a good one for " Are you smarter than a 6 grader " ....lol

I'm bored! Ick!

But, in good news, my evil ex roommate (not tammy - before her) sent me an email saying they're refinancing! woo!
which means I won't be on the 260,000 loan anymore!
woo hoo!

WOOHOO, Cel!!!!!!!!!!:worship:
I put too much milk in the chicken a la king AGAIN!!!!!!

Evening, all!!!!!!!!!!!! Goog to see ya, bbn. Sorry to hear about your computer meltdown. Ack.

Wendy, I don't know which game you're looking at, but according to FB on my computer, it's YOUR turn!!! :confused3

Well, WT, we know you haven't been over at "Moo's happy place" lately! :rolleyes1 :3dglasses pirate: :goofy:

Cel - Glad to hear you're going to get out from under that house mortgage soon! :yay:

Pumba - More prayers for baby Brielle :grouphug:

Mony, belated Happy Birthday to Zach! I went to my niece's 12th birthday party tonight. We had dinner at the Japanese steakhouse. I can't believe that she was eating sushi. And she even ate it with wasabi on it!!! :scared1:

Marita - Sounds like you needed that extra day today to recuperate :)

Luckily I'm a goog speller. ;) Just not right there. :rotfl2:

Moo - My DH has been saving all our 8MM videos on to the 'puter so that we can transfer them to disks. Well, smart DD noticed that his 2nd grade (1st day of school) video was dated a week later than we start now. She said, "How come he started later?" :confused3 Well, I explained that that was BEFORE we got Fall Break. Now we a week vacation in Oct., so to make up for it we start a week earlier. :teacher: I thought it was funny that she even noticed that.

BBN - Hope you get money for a new 'puter soon. You are missed. :flower3:

Ok, I just finished running six miles, and I need to go take a shower. :rolleyes1 Hope to see you later. I have my first workday for preschool tomorrow. :guilty: Don't get me wrong, I love my little kids, but I sure have enjoyed being home and catching up here. :grouphug:
