I'm getting worried about BBN and PJ!
heh.So I finally got a hold of my DD. Apparently they are staying on base right now, but trying to get OFF base. That's about all I got out of her, they were eating lunch.
Oh, and DS made it for his orientation. YAY!
If anyone wants to adopt a cute young female, almost 24, good credentials, comes complete with college degree, I have one available. Free to a good home! Can be extremely charming, even!
but, does she clean, cook, and nanny?
Picture Bloodhound's borrowed tree pic here.![]()
Weellll, this year is different. If you make a 100 (or 90 or above, I'm not really sure yet) you still have to do HALF of the homework instead of ALL of it, if you don't make the grade. Well, they have these different exercises that they have to do and their weighted with points. For example, one of her choices is to give a family member a spelling test with her words, and then she has to grade it. I think she will be opting for this one ALOT.
Anyway, she was telling me that they had to do each exercise on a SEPARATE sheet of paper.
She was mortified. She said, "Mom, I'm gonna be killing trees just to do my spelling homework."
I didn't know what to say, except that since those were the teacher's rules, she had to follow them. Gotta love my tree lovin' daughter though.
Unless, you would be interested in a trade.
bad night for the baby.......just got an email from them. Her liver is very enlarged and if it doesnt start to improve she either needs a liver transplant or she may die..
Please continue to keep her in your prayers..
Yesterday was Zach's 10th birthday and we spent the whole day at Comerica Park at the Tiger Game.
Madelyn's 1st birthday is Wednesday.
Anyway, they got everything loaded and were gone by 8:30 or so. So I could have gone in to work after allBut I decided to save on gas and dirty emission and all that stuff (for the sake of the enviroment, of course!)
Glad your kids made it safely to their destination!
When I asked why, he said, "Well, you never know...."
Uhhhh, you never know what? You'll never know when you'll need an 8 year old eMachine to use as a doorstop?
Still, it's nice to have a computer that runs Java! Oy!
about the tree killing spelling homework.... and the fact that you will get to improve your spelling this year as well.
to Nebo and Smidgy. I think I recognize the name from SOMEWHERE.
We miss you! Heck, I would load up that credit card so fast!!! Then again,I have no life, LOL!Hey guys. Only here for a second. My computer got hit by lightning and is now kaput. So, my only internet access is via the library (for some reason, my local library hates the disboards) or my gma's. I am at my gma's now, but I am heading to work.
Some of you asked as to my whereabouts, wellllllllllll, now you know the rest of the story. Not a heck of a lot to tell. When we get some moolah, we will have a computer again.

Sounds like you need to brush up on them spelling skills....this should be a good one for " Are you smarter than a 6 grader " ....lolThat's funny BH.
Actually my DD (10) was complaining last night about her spelling work. Well, let me give some background first. Last year, they would take a pre test on Monday's. If they made a 90 or above on the test, they didn't have to do the spelling homework, and got to skip the followup test on Friday.Well, DD is a pretty goog speller, so she lucked out of most of her spelling homework.

Just not right there.
Well, I explained that that was BEFORE we got Fall Break.
Now we a week vacation in Oct., so to make up for it we start a week earlier.
I thought it was funny that she even noticed that.
Hope to see you later. I have my first workday for preschool tomorrow.
Don't get me wrong, I love my little kids, but I sure have enjoyed being home and catching up here.
