Awwwwww!!!!!!!! Glad you got your power back, bbn. What a pain in the patoot that must have been.

Mony - Anyone would be worried and stressed :grouphug: Prayers for good news tomorrow. Sorry you can't be with Tim at his appointment.

Pumba - What a tough thing to go through :sad1: Hope your niece and her family have lots of support. Sending healing thoughts and prayers.

What Moo said! Hugs to Brielle's family and Mony's :grouphug:

Has everyone read the announcement on All Ears that Bay Tower goes on sale to DVC owners this Sunday? There's a cute youtube. I called DVC to find out when it goes on sale to the general public and to get on a waiting list if there is one :woohoo: I think the agent said it goes on sale on October 5. Hope I can afford to buy in. A lot of people have been waiting for this. They're also adding Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs.

Cute video. Moo, read in the paper today that i's $18,000, about $1k more than others. I assume that is for the minimum points you can get.

Lexi, no rumor on January codes so far. But that doesn't mean much, I am not in that loop.

Sandy, thanks for those sites, I will go look. But it isnt all about price, it's the length of travel time too. Like I am NOT wainting in Atlanta for 8 hours!
Although come to to think of it, I should be able to find a different flight to get there. Or 4 hour layover in Paris. It used to be so easy, get on in Orlando, 10 minutes away, get off at my destination. Now I have to drive 3 hours! Sorry, yes, I am frustrated!

Thank you all for the good wishes for my son! :grouphug:

Tomorrow I have to stay for a meeting till 4:30. Drives me batty! Plus then I get to be stuck in traffic and rain where I have trouble seeing.

Pumba, how is your sight since the operations?

Everyone

Ok, DS' restaurant is open, but not advertised as open. It might be where DH and the kids have to eat tomorrow.

I go back to the Dr. tomorrow. He is supposed to drain my left leg that I had worked on last Friday. Well, when the nurse called to confirm my appt., she told me that he had written down that I might have to have that same procedure done again TOMORROW! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Not that the procedure is that bad, but I still don't know what my portion is gonna be.:confused3 Remember it is $150 a Vile, and I have NO idea how many he used last Friday, and how many he will use tomorrow. How can I ask, in a tactful but firm way, how much I am in for? My legs bother me, so I know I need this done, but I'm not made out of money either. :sad2: I wouldn't go into a store and pick out things without looking at the price. So why is it, when you go to the Dr., they can do things that you have NO IDEA how much it costs, and how much it is gonna cost you?

Ok, rant over, sorry.

.

Allie, I think you can ask straightforward how much it will oost, so you can plan your finances. Nothing to be asharmed about.

You have a DS who is opening a restaurant? How did I miss this bit? Tell more please!

Allie - What a dilemma about your medical procedure. As much of a hassle as it may be to ask for an answer, you really deserve one before getting in any deeper. Hope there is someone at the office you can talk with.

My hubby doesn't like going to Disney very often, but at least he'll go occasionally - he's on about a 5-year cycle. That way there are usually a few new things for him to try. I figure I shouldn't have too much trouble finding other people to go with me though! ;)

Steph! I think it's only fair that existing DVCers get the first crack at adding on new properties, but I hope there will be plenty left for first-timers. I may have to drive the same car for a lot of years, but I'm thinking I might be able to squeak by!!!

Marita - That is the price I read about too. A bit more than Saratoga Springs or Animal Kingdom Lodge, but I think it will be worth it in the long run to have easy accessibility to the MK and Epcot, plus all the restaurants in the monorail hotels.

No, no, no, sorry, I'm not always clear. DS is working at a restaurant that is opening. He is 15 1/2, and this is his FIRST real job (he's worked at my preschool for the past couple of summers). He has been working after school since Monday. I think I will go edit, so as not to confuse others. :confused3 :lmao: See, I could never run for office.

DUH, sorry, my fault. I just read that yesterday or the day before. My dang memory!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, Cheryl, I'd come with you. We have been on the 5 year plan too. Now that he has gone w/both kids, he doesn't feel the need to go again. He just wants to go to other places, which isn't bad either.

Now last week before my procedure, I asked the front desk, the nurse AND the Dr. how much it would cost me? I didn't get a straight answer from any of them. Just the fact that a vile is $150. Now the Doc did say he would try to "go to bat" for me with the insurance because he felt like this was necessary for me, due to my veins being so bad. But what does that mean? :confused3 Every time I go see him, and he does the ultrasound on my veins, he says "Oh my GOSH!!!" I told him that he doesn't make a girl feel very good. :rotfl2: I also told him last week, that I wasn't just a blank check here. I'm just afraid I'll end up with $100's or even a $1,000 of charges. And I'm responsible, because I'm sure I've signed some paper that says I'll pay what insurance won't.

WOW, that does sound scary for your wallet, Allie!

Sandy, I am running the Kayak site now, but it's taking its sweet time :rolleyes1

Allie - Fingers crossed for your doctor's bill.

I hope to be able to stick with the once or twice a year plan!!! ;) Still no word on my DD's interviews, but she hasn't been there since 1998 (mainly because she worked at Universal while in college and got burned out on theme parks) so I'm really hoping she can go with me in December for an adult trip together.

I would love to have my sister and cousin go with me too in the next few years. It's looking pretty good for my cousin to go in December with me or me and my DD :thumbsup2

If my daughter gets a job out-of-state, I'm sure that will be a travel destination for us. It's been nice getting to visit NC the past couple years and do a few new things there.

Hi, my daughter (lives in south louisville)got her power back on finally tonight about 630 pm...she was so happy...she said she so had to do laundry and throw out the stuff in the fridge / freezer

GOOD MORNING!

Today is the big birthday. Since this is my only free evening this week and we were out of town last weekend, we have to clean house tonight for the party tomorrow. Bought $60 worth of soda and junk food at the store last night in anticipation of the gathering.

Sandy....I bought a sterling charm bracelet with a toggle clasp on Amazon for $14 and she found a Swarovski crystal heart she wants to put on it. Wendy and Misty made their own Twilight bracelets. We can't wait til Nov. 21st!

Marita....Get in the loop, woman! We need some information! :lmao:

Allie.....ASK HOW MUCH! Shirley if the leg is giving you problems then your insurance will pay since it's medical and not just cosmetic? :confused3

Twinkie....Love the lil gymnasts pictures. It must be hard to be a twin when your sister is better at something than you are. I don't blame Miss Purple Twink for wanting her own sport. I wouldn't hold out much hope for the math thing.

BNCG.....Way to go with the neighbor on oxygen! Glad you got your power restored. We were without power for a week in the dead of winter here during the ice storm 5 years ago. Do you have a gas stove and water heater? We found that helped us to stay put here in the house. Did you really not have water? Or just not hot water? All in all, it was kind of fun and a bonding experience for us all. Like doing a historic reenactment. My boss's 80 year old parents live in Anchorage and had not called him since Sunday. He called to have the police go by and check on them yesterday. They were fine.
They have cell phones but there are lots of communication problems in the area I guess.

Moo.....DH is not a lover of Disney either. I love a vacation that's a busy vacation. I like to go, see, do and he just likes to sit. I can sit at home. I don't need to pay a lot of money and travel a long way to SIT if you know what I mean. :confused3 Especially if it's in a rental house at the beach where he gets to SIT while I cook and clean.

Hound....Glad your daughter got her power back! :thumbsup2 Power is goog.

Celery....Are you working in Cincinnati this week? And you took your mom with you? Are you staying downtown? Are you going to Kings Island to eat blue ice cream?

MommyP, Wendee, everybody....:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Wow, you were up EARLY Melinda! :scared1: Or is the DIS clock off again?

Ok, I called the 1-800 number on the back of my insurance card. I now know how much everything cost, AND how much the insurance paid. I plan to call back today when the Customer Svc. folks are there, so I can ask what portion am I responsible for. Maybe the Dr. will just accept what the ins. pays? (I think that is a possibility for the 1st proc. ;) ) :confused3 Anyway, if he doesn't I'm in about $1500! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: Most of that was my first weeks procedure. It was $2800! Last week was $350. I plan to ask today BEFORE anyone even TOUCHES me. I'm not made of money ya' know. :rolleyes1

Thanks for listenin' to me guys. :grouphug:

Marita.......first off.....My eyes are happy eyes.......I could see across the pool from our room at Pop century......I can read signs up and down the roads....(I dont drive remember)....I can see things that I could not focus on before....so that is the good part. I still need glasses to read. They gave me the ocular lens to fix the distance vision. Which is fine with me.......but I still need glasses ..but heck I have worn glasses like forever.....so I dont mind. I go to the eye doctor for a recheck on Monday. I also hope that he will take away the meds for my glaucoma too at the same time and then have another recheck on that......Some people dont have to use the eye drops anymore.....so I am hoping that I am one of them.......SOOOO, GO......you wont have to take off much time......maybe the day of surgery (one lady went to her daycare right after surgery) and then the day you go back for a recheck....Virtually no pain at all........I had a block and also had some sort of drug that was quite NICE.....hahahaha. In other words I vaguely remember a thing........I did say something about the meatballs needing garlic bread.....weird but that I do remember....

Celery....Are you working in Cincinnati this week? And you took your mom with you? Are you staying downtown? Are you going to Kings Island to eat blue ice cream?
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
No.
(blue ice cream?)

ok cincy people.
what's with the "who dey?"
I'm guessing it has something to do with the bengals, but I don't get it. :confused3

Peej - since you're coming to town, my mom wants to know if you'll take her around to old cemetaries today so she can try and find the graves of our ancestors.
I won't do it.
Well, to be fair, I have to work. but still.

Allie - Don't just talk to a Dr. or a nurse at your doctor's office - they know nothing about billing! (no offense Babycow and lil G) Also don't trust the insurance company - they're all idiots!
Ask to speak to someone in the billing department of your doctor's office and explain your concerns.
Ask if there is a discount for your insurance company and if not, is there a prompt pay or any other type of discount they can offer you.
Ask to set up a payment plan if they don't have a prompt pay discount.

Hello to everyone else!!!!

Today is the big birthday. Since this is my only free evening this week and we were out of town last weekend, we have to clean house tonight for the party tomorrow. Bought $60 worth of soda and junk food at the store last night in anticipation of the gathering.

1. Happy Giving Birth Day!!!! Isn't it amazing how much provisions for a house full of teens costs? Last year I made the Birthday Teen budget and shop for his own junk food (I paid but I had set limit). It was hilarious as he muttered through the chip aisle picking stuff up and putting it back while complaing about the high cost of brand name items. Glad you found a gift she will be excited about.

2. Thank you. As of this am, she is thinking that dancing is the career for her. She wanted to be a cheerleader until I explained that until you were a teenager you didn't get to actually cheer at a game. I think she has the need for an audience- gymnastics has no recitals etc. They are in a pre-team class so no meets yet either.

3. You forgot the part about life guarding, activity co-ordinating, sun screen applying, refereeing, alternate activity co-ordinating, bug destroying, sand blasting, sun screen applying, grocery shopping, sun screen applying. I went to the beach this summer. I find Disney to be more relaxing. Heh. Fortunately, Mr. Twink likes a "doing" vacation too. He loves to sit around and sleep in but figures we can do that at home. If we are spending money then we are Getting Our Money's Worth.

Hi Allie! you are smart for calling the insurance peeps! Cel has good advice. Usually the insurance has negotiated a substantial discount so if the bill is 1000$, they get at $400 discount, then they pay $300, leaving you with a bill of $300.

I have had sucess with getting documentation from the drs that a procedure was medically necessary and getting the insurance to reclassify it. Like my daughter has some needs that look "cosmetic" on paper but are truely necessary due her underlying medical condition. So the insurance pays like it is a medical procedure (which it is) instead of cosmetic. It takes a while on the phone but it is worth it. Sounds like this is an option for you too.

I have less often but occasionaly- ok only twice - had a provider give me a discount when I couldn't get the insurance company to reclassify something.

Yo, Moovers! Today is my Friday, so I'm all :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: .

Melinda, happy Giving Birth day! What'd the birthday kid ask for?

Boris' b-day is a week from tomorrow, and I have still not been successful in nailing down what type of party he wants. Options include a friends-only dinner out plus sleepover or the usual family party, which includes larger numbers of peeps (in the neighborhood of 50), but ends mercifully earlier. He is still "giving it serious consideration". I told him he has until tomorrow night at dinnertime, and then I'm making the decision for him.

Either way, I have to devote some serious time to housecleaning this weekend. The laundry monster needs taming, and I have to start swapping out the summer clothes for the winter-y ones. Ugh.

Hey Moovers!
I've been lurking; a weird work schedule and the start of fall sports has me reading in the morning and not having time to post. But I'm back up to speed.
PUMBA so sad about baby Brielle. There just aren't words, that's what prayers and  are for.
Lexi Look out in WDW, a friend asked me to start planning a trip for us and we have a game 0n Jan 3 and then 2 weeks off, sooo... ps Happy Giving Birth Day.

ok cincy people.
what's with the "who dey?"
I'm guessing it has something to do with the bengals, but I don't get it. :confused3
From Wikipedia:
Who Dey is the name of a chant of support by fans of the Cincinnati Bengals, an American football team. The entire chant is: "Who dey! Who dey! Who dey think gonna beat dem Bengals?" The answer screamed in unison, "NOBODY!". "Who Dey" is also the name of the team’s mascot, a Bengal tiger.
They also have co-opted the old Hudepohl beer with Who Dey beer. The guy I stay with in Louisville is member 86 in the old Bengal's fan club. I know WAYYY too much about them. Of course as soon as Sunday's game was over, I had to rub it in.(I know, you don't know, but the Titans beat the Bengals).

(I know, you don't know, but the Titans beat the Bengals).

I actually knew that!
woo!
The breadman is a titans fan. I did not know this ahead of time. It might have changed how much I liked him, but it's too late now.

So anyway, I knew they won.
and I'm going to the game on Sunday. cuz I'm a good girlfriend and bought tickets for me and him.

Allie praying for your healing!! I go to my mil (first time in 3 years :scared1: - thinking of staying in a hotel, dropping off kids at mil, and taking dh to a hotel... :cool2: (for big evil grin)

Lexi, Wendy, and of course Misty I really should read the book so I know what to look for!! I think this sounds perfect for DD birthday - and as to that...

:dance3: Happy Birthing Day indeed!!

Bay Tower is the DVC property that's right next to the Contemporary!

I think it'll be of high interest due to the monorail accessibility.

Oh, I was reading on the DVC Mousellineous forum - many have bought - it sounds fabulous to me - I just need an extra $12,000 (but of course Marita said $18,000 - so the 12 is for existing contracts and only 100 points? and dues is less than other resorts - $3.8? ) Must keep priorities in check!! lol

and I still cant believe my dh is all into Disney!! We hope to take DS and his (now fiance but soon wife!) to the 2010 MARATHON~~ I also hope to rent DVC points so we can stay Boardwalk or Beach Club!!

Allie, I think you can ask straightforward how much it will oost, so you can plan your finances. Nothing to be asharmed about.

You have a DS who is opening a restaurant? How did I miss this bit? Tell more please!

Marita (quoted the wrong post - but we still can give Allie best wishes!!) Did you find a better flight path? I agree that Kayak has been loading so slow - but I find it easier to search the flight times on that site - then take down the flight numbers and go to the Airline website and plug in the flight numbers!! Your time is very valuable!! Best of Luck!! :wizard:

WOW, that does sound scary for your wallet, Allie!

Sandy, I am running the Kayak site now, but it's taking its sweet time :rolleyes1

OOPS - I guess I got really cufuzzled!!

Pumba more :grouphug: and prayers... just so sad!! Thanks for the update on your eyesight!!

Celery how much longer in Cincy? Enjoy the football game!! GO BEARS!! :cool2:

DTD thanks for the info! How's work?

Lali good luck with that birthday planning, and cleaning!! I love taming the laundry monster... :laundy: (NOT!)

Twinkie hope the girls find the fun in whatever they do!! and an audience is a definate draw! Thanks for the insurance advice!! I hate insurance and procedures, I'm trying to avoid them at all cost!! :wizard: (lol, as if we have a choice in time of need!)

I am just full of joy and emotion.

Tim's biopsy came back benign tumor

A huge ugly darkness has been lifted off of me.

I am so gratful to you all for all of your support and prayers and all the special thoughts and love you all sent our way.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

He has one more apt with the Oncologist next week to get his opinion on the rest of the spots.

Again, thank you all!!!

Marita.......first off.....My eyes are happy eyes..........

Thanks, Pumba, that sounds so encouraging!

:wizard:

Not yet, Sandy. I finally figured out the reason the site ran so slow is that they used a different spelling for Duesseldorf (without the "e"). Once I tried that, it was pretty fast. I only clicked on one searchenging, thought. Anyway, what I got was more than I think the charter flight is, and total travel time of 15-20 hours! Anyway, but that time it was so late I gave up.

Everybody
