Peej! Thanks for sharing your graduation pics! Hope picking up your diploma went smoothly :)

Here are a couple pics from my daughter's graduation. I was having a lot of trouble with congestion and coughing that night.

bbn, what a "fun" field trip! :scared:

Nabbie - hope you have a less challenging field trip experience! I haven't had to do a field trip for eons :woohoo:

Cel! w00t on your birthday goodies from the breadman!!! And yay for the upcoming weekend!

Wendy  Goog luck with the house stuff.

Lynette - Did you notice how I snuck in there on our last game with a bingo to win! Convince your hubby that you and the kidlets deserve a WDW trip!!! Preferably in mid-December!

Mony - I am NOT liking the looks of the airfare for December. It's $40 more than I just paid :guilty:

Twink! Are you up for a game with moi? I had the same experience of accidentally starting multiple games :confused3 I just picked the one with the best letters and deleted the rest :lmao:

Steph-- when did you son finally come home? Is he grounded for life...:lmao:
Yes, he finally did. Grounding is not really an option, he just finds all sorts of other good reasons to be gone, long story.

snarkgirl: The dh isn't biting? He needs to take lessons from you. Word on the street is you bite plenty.;)

Oh, yer a funny one, you are. Harumph!

BigL- They PAY you to take communion?!? That is it. I am converting. I have to admit, I am the more miserly one so talking my husband into a trip isn't that hard. Have you tried the old "but it was YOUR idea" trick?

Well, SURE they pay you, silly! Don't you know that Catholics tie every ritual to cash? Duh. Plus, who'd want to eat that flavorless lil wafer if there was no incentive?

Lynette- You just need to fine tune your skillz. ;) His 40th birthday and your 10 year celebration of your LOVE should do it. Work it mama!

OK, Moovers. There is a SIGN in my front yard for some reason! :scared:

I'm sort of excited and scared as well as relieved. Let the Stress Begin!

UGH, I 'm reliving Twinkie's house selling drama all over again!

I KNOW, right? I talked to one of DH's friends earlier tonight, and she mentioned that she's going to Disney in July. We got to talking about whether DH and I would be taking the kids anytime soon, and I told her how resistant he's been. She agreed that I may just have to plan and book a trip and just sock money away on my own. :sad2:

Wendy, good luck with the sale of your house! There is a lot of angst involved with real estate transactions. Hope it goes smoothly!

ETA: Moo, I sure DID notice your last minute swoop! Good play!

1. Congrats on your daughter's graguawhashion! You guys look great :cutie:

2. I know about the airfare!!! I have been watching it too.

3. I don't know how to delete a game. So I played them all

4. Yes! I go real slow but if that is cool with you bring it on.

Utah- for house selling drama. I hope we don't have to moove anytime soon.

WT-Speaking of the economy, I read just the other day in some magazine at the drs. that if the price of milk had risen with inflation since the 50s it would be about $7.42/gallon.

Steph -- glad he made it home safe. Not looking forward to those times.

Moo-- Proud Ma moment! I love the pictures. And we get to see that pretty pink top too.

Lynette-- Hannah told me the bread tasted like cardboard. I asked her when did she ever eat cardboard.... One of the little girls gagged on hers.

PJ and Moo, thanks for the pics

Both graguates are very pretty!

Moo, you done good :thumbsup2

Wendy, I can' even bear thinking about putting our house on the market. Not because I love it, but because we lived here for 27 years, way too much painting, cleaning, fixing stuff to do. But we will have to soonishly, I guess, if I ever want to live in a retirement community.

DS called tonight. He passed his big test today. He had to get at least an 80% to not be put on the remidial list and risk being kicked out. He got an 85, WHEW :scared: So he was happy with that. He said some questions were tricky. This was supposed to be the hardest one.
Another graded test on Saturday about rules. (6 tests in all) Then on Monday they start pistol shooting practice. I never knew that Air Force officers shoot pistols :confused3. But DS said they carry them on the plane.

This whole thing has been and is much harder than we ever thought, both getting in, which took a lot of work and time, and now the training, which is much harder and stricter than I ever thought. I didn't think you get thrown ought so easily. So all that has me a bit on edge. But DS seemed to be OK.

On the work front, I had yet another Budget kick-off meeting. I was listening to the stuff, and thought, I really don't care.......I have done so many before, and as soon as the year is over, nobody cares. Before the meeting, we were served breakfast, and I mentioned to my table something about yet another budget and said jokingly "I remember the greeat budget of 1984". Everyone laughed, and one guy said "I was 1 year old" HA HA HA

Twink, thanks for the booking mojo! I'll need it!

Speaking of Mojo (my puppy), I called a groomer to make an appointment for Mojo's first professional grooming. He's going for a complete overhaul on Saturday. To the tune of $50! Ouch!

NAB, at our church, Father gave the kids unconsecrated hosts about 2 weeks before the First Communion just so they'd know ahead of time what the wafer would taste like.

Thanks, Pumba!!

I will tell him about his cyber mamas, LOL That is great about your BIL!!

I just found out that my BIL is going to have an operation for prostrate cancer in June. Dang. This is the same BIL whose wife just left him, and he has 2 mortgages on big houses that don't sell in this economy, and he sells BMW's, which are not selling well these days.... He made a very good livin for many years, but now not so much. He is like 68 and was hoping to retire, but it's not looking good for that.

Thanks for the nice comments on the graduation pics. I didn't figure my hubby wanted his pic posted so I just put mine and DD's up. We are pretty proud of our daughter. I need to give her a call to see how things are going. She should be home for a visit in a couple weeks.

Marita! Glad you heard from your son. Sounds like he's doing very well, all things considered. Sorry to hear about your BIL's troubles

Pumba, I'm happy to hear that your BIL is doing well. What a relief for you and your family.

Twink, I started a game for us!!! I don't play all that fast and only in the evening on weeknights because I can't get FB on the batphone. Besides, I'm sure the Scrabble board would be too small to see and play ;)

Steph - I hear you about not being able to ground our adult kids :headache: I can never sleep when my DD is out late when she's visiting. But she is usually pretty goog about calling to let us know not to expect her. Sounds like you need to guilt your DS into calling so you don't worry about him

Peej! Don't worry about it! You've been super busy this week! But i'd love some cake. :)

Since you've been so busy, you might not have seen this post. Hee.
I'll take it! Wait. That was a rash decision. I have a few points you must meet first. You have to guarantee me giggling about boys, braiding each other's hair, pillow fights, and access to high speed internet. Only then can we talk. :cool2:

Peej! aren' t you just cute as a button? Now you are PirateBallerina, B.A. Sounds good.
Thanks for asking. yes, I am in fact cute as a button. heh

P.J.-- Loved the pictures. You all look beautiful !! The one with the cousins I thought boy that one really looks like you but it was you with out the robe...duh. I love the last picture too you are just glowing, also like that someone wrapped a present in princess paper.
I received many presents wrapped in Disney Princess paper and my bff Eren gave me a High School Musical card. Maybe this means I'm more in touch with my students?
And I had to take the robe off as soon as the ceremony was over. I was sweltering!!!! I may or may not complain excessively when it's hot. :rolleyes1

Peej, you are too cute in those pics! HotT, even. ;) Again, CONGRATULATIONS!
Thanks, BigL. And I hear hotT college chicks are going to be in Orlando this summer and would love some visitors. Just sayin.

Peej: You guys looked and STILL look so pretty. Now whatcha gonna do? You're all growed up.
Looked? Past tense??? I'm confused. You do realize those pictures were taken just a few short days ago. Are you suggesting I no longer look pretty? I. Don't. Get. It. :confused3

Peej! Thanks for sharing your graduation pics! Hope picking up your diploma went smoothly :)
Thanks, Moo! And thanks for sharing your pictures, too. I bet your daughter was just as excited as me! I did get the diploma today with no problem. well, there was a slight problem when they wouldn't give it to me because I hadn't paid the $50 graguwashin fee, but, much to my chagrin, I paid it. Graduation fee? What a load of carp. :sad2:

:cool1: :yay: :dance3: YAY!!! Congrats to DS and a hug for you.

Glad he's doing well and hope he continues to heal.

Hope everyone had a lovely Thursday.

1. You forgot the popcorn requirement, as well as access to GAC. Duh.

2. Et tu, Peej? You people are taunting me! I give, I give! Uncle, even! Now please turn your cajoling and coercion attempts to my DH. Thank you.

3. There's the perfect tag for you! Heehee!

4. Uh, graguwashin fee? I think they used to call that TUITION!

1. I should consult you before ever signing any important papers or documents or committing to anything. You clearly think of everything I forget. This could be perf. Are you in?

2. Who needs a DH for a Disney trip?

3. As if my tags don't already make me sound like a freakin idiot as it is.

4. Yeah cept I already paid tuition, too! Major HARUMPH....I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just thought of something else. I was parked illegally to get my diploma and I got a parking ticket. I went to campus police to appeal it and they wouldn't take it away. So, I asked them if, (in theory) someone had already graduated and had their diploma why (in theory) would that person pay the parking ticket? They had no good answer for that theoretical question. I don't see myself paying that ticket anytime soon. Or ever for that matter.

1. So true. I'm in.

2. Have you been talking to Natasha? Cuz she said the EXACT same thing! "If Daddy doesn't want to go, he doesn't have to. We can send him a postcard. That'll even save us some money." Such a wiseguy, that one.

3. Nope. Not an idiot, Peej. Just quirky and free-spirited, perhaps. ::yes::

4. They ran outta ways to say, "What can we juice these young 'uns for before we set them free into the world with their new degrees?" And, voila!...the graguwashin fee was born! :sad2:

Last edited by Minnie_Moo : Today at 09:54 PM. Reason: Steenkin' parkin' ticket! Just be sure they don't put out a warrant for ya, Peej!!!
They'll never catch me!!! :cool2: The only reason I've paid parking tickets in the past is because they wouldn't release my grades at the end of the year. This time when I basically asked them what they were gonna do they said "hold your diploma." I said "I'm already holding it." Which I was. Literally. Hee hee hee.

1. I'll have the papers sent right over. Please sign them at your earliest convenience.

2. So what if I have? That Natasha, she's a smart one. Bring her and Boris down with ya this summer and we'll have a grand time!!

3. Quirky? Do I like that description? :scratchin

4. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Left work at noon yesterday to go back to the middle school and finish the play program since the deadline was 2pm. Finally finished at 4:30 with no break and no lunch. Went home, put on my pj's and rested. The program is not to my standards but it will be fine. I just hope I got all the ads in.

Anyway, Emily's in the 7:30pm tomorrow production so they're practicing til 9:30 tonight. At least DH has agreed to go to the camp out tonight with DS. I hope it doesn't rain. I'm looking forward to some alone time.

PJ....I agree that you (and your sisters) are cute as a button! What lovely graguwashion pictures. You make that hat look good. No! Really! Hee, hee on the parking ticket. Theoretically, I wouldn't pay it!

Moo....Aren't you so proud of your girl? I love her dress! Where's that fushia top you picked out to wear to the ceremony?

Marita....I'm so happy to hear that your son is doing well. I was sure he would.

Pumba...My daughter's boyfriend's dad had a benign brain tumor the size of a small orange removed from his head on Monday and a few hours later he was sitting up in bed talking to everybody! I agree....it's unbelievable what they can do these days!

Lynette....Leave your Mr. L home! Somebody's gotta take care of the dog?!

NAB & Lynette....I'm not Catholic but my grandmother used to make the communion bread for our church at her house with pie crust and one of those little roller tools you use in sewing...looks like a tiny pizza cutter. Anyway, I had had my fill of communion bread long before I could officially eat it.

Steph....I know how it is. Once my daughter turned 18 she told me she could check herself out at school! WHAT?! So I called the school and asked and they said YES. And officially I can't access any of her school records either!?

BNCG....I loved your Elijah story! DS had one of those naughty old testament prophets in his class last year....Isaiah. Thank goodness I never went on a field trip with them.

Wendee....Good luck selling the house!

Twink....Where you going to be looking for airfare? Class reunion?

Celery, Monica, everybody......:wave2:

HAVE A WONDERFUL FRIDAY!

Mony - I am NOT liking the looks of the airfare for December. It's $40 more than I just paid :guilty:

Twink! Are you up for a game with moi? I had the same experience of accidentally starting multiple games :confused3 I just picked the one with the best letters and deleted the rest :lmao:

That happens to me too Moo.

Thank goodness for DH's frequent flyer miles. In May, my mom's ticket was $75.00 with 25,000 miles cashed in. We paid in Feb. 226.00 a ticket for 3 tickets. I still thought that was high. And we got 2 free tickets. That's with Northwest.

For Aug we paid 136.00 each for 5 round trip tickets through Spirit

Nice pictures. Very happy for your daughter.

Twink if you want to play scrabble, ring me up! I love having 50 games going at once.:upsidedow

TGIF! I think we are pretend camping in the backyard this weekend. At least they are, I'll be sleeping in my nice comfy bed probly with a baby.

This time when I basically asked them what they were gonna do they said "hold your diploma." I said "I'm already holding it." Which I was. Literally. Hee hee hee.

Good line PJ. :rotfl: I don't know about Montessori teachers but whenever I apply for a teaching job I need a real honest to goodess straight from the University transcript (which has a $15 transcript fee:mad: the records are on computer people! It isn't like they have to go into a dusty basement 3 miles from campus up hills both ways in the snow or anything. I get that they mail it and use special/expensive paper to prevent tampering but $5 is a generous amount for mailing 2 pieces of paper- oh they charged me to send one to my graduate school which was the same freakin' university) and I know my University will not release transcripts if you have outstanding parking tickets or library fines or what not. Not that I would know personally since I am an

Twink....Where you going to be looking for airfare? Class reunion?

That too. I am going on a road trip this summer and I want Mr. Twink to drive with us, stay a few days and fly back so he can work hard to support me in the lavish lifestyle to which I have become accustomed. ;) Then I want him to reverse the process so I don't have to take a cross country trip with 5 young'uns all by my lonesome. This allows me to hang out at my parents and chillax and also gives my teenager time with his mom's family.

Also advanced Disney bookers know to moniter the airfare for ALL mythical trips. It won't work this year but in years past you wait for it to be a goog deal and hop on it, then you use the "we can't afford NOT to go at this price, dear"

Good morning everyone!

Hi all,
Just checkin' in. I've been crazy busy, or at least crazy. It took me 2 days to finish an online appoication for my potential new job, then my location wasn't released yet. Our gov'mint moves soo sloow.
I didn't post over the weekend because I had to build new steps(the easy part) to connect to my deck(the hard part). The ones I had were held up by concrete blocks. Then I had to stain the whole thing to make it match. Imanaged in my best Red Green style to get it all done. Except no duct tape was involved.
Peej- I still owe WKU for a parking ticket that was issued by a friend of mine. They have no power once you're out. Unless you park on campus illegally again. Congrats on getting the paper. You and your sisters/coiusins are all beeauutiful. But y'all make me feel so old.
UMA- I haven't gotten around to anything much on the trip, but I found out there's no MToT party on Monday. So I guess it'll have to be Tuesday. Tickets ae on sale to AP holders and Disney Visa but not to gp yet. Goog luck on the house selling. Get your person to our part of the country, and let me know how I can help.
Moo-congrats on the dd. Grajiatin is one of the hardest things to do, getting a young'un through is right up there too. (Do you hear the World calling?)
Gotta get to that other job. Later
