DS just called!!!!!!!1

Undercover from the shower, I think. He couldn't talk long.

He said they are being yelled at a lot, but the guys are all very suportive.

There was so much I wanted to ask, but no time........

Hi all.
I'm fine.
Yes, I went to the ER last night.
The nurse said I was the happiest drunk she's ever seen.
Moo - hurry up and get here so I'll quit being bad!

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

What happened last night? Celery???? How did you hurt yourself? How did you get to the hospital if you were drinking? I'm glad you're OK! Behave!

Bad news ahead....feel free to skim...

So we got a call yesterday that MIL passed away in the early hours Friday morning. She was DH's step mother and she had been sick for a realllly long time so it was a blessing. But it just topped off a bad week.

Mimi had a friend from church who was killed in a car accident. The parents had to make the decision to remove her from life support. And yesterday (my boring day at work...remember?) the dad came in with 100+ photos of her that he wanted to put together in a power point that would loop at the visitation. So I spent my day scanning and crying. It started with a birth announcement and ended with a beautiful album of senior pictures.

Mimi went to the visitation before work and then they sent her home because she kept crying. This is her first friend who has died so it's really tough for her. The funeral is today.

To top it all off DH had a man who was a frequent customer (and good friend) who was murdered this week. I KNOW! DH is very upset because his friend must've suffered greatly before he died. It's under investigation.

Lynette.....I'm sorry about your earring! What a bummer!

Marita! I'm so glad you heard from DS. I know that's a load off your mind.

Moo....How exciting to attend Mari's graduation! Congratulations! I hope you're feeling better! :flower3:

Wendy.....Ugg on the outlaw party. :scared: Can't wait to hear all about it! Now I see why you're moving. ;)

Everyone else
....I hope you're having a goog weekend doing your various and sundry things. :wave2:

HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY!

I think it will be a quiet weekend.

Moo - graduation and travel
Celery: traveling the world
Pumba: hitting the road (or skies)
Nabbie: freaking over kitchen and first communion
PJ: Packing
Twinkie: Out-lawing
Wendy; Enjoying relatives for birthday
DTD: working
Rob: sports, no doubt

I;m sure missed someone along the way that has busy plans.... sorry if I did!
Marita,

Rob thanks you for this useful post. Yes, a weekend of baseball for us with one flag football game thrown into the mix this morning at 9 just for fun. However, we're also having my paternal grandmother's birthday party at my folks' house at 6 this evening. It won't be near as fun as Wendy's family outing though. The trick to a successful visit to my parents' home (at least when Dad is there) is to get the boys in and out of there quickly enough before they get tired of behaving like angels and start acting like NORMAL BOYS -- usually about 2.5 hours.

Lexy- My googness when you have a bad week you don't mess around do you? :grouphug:  Please pass this one on to Mimi  I lost my childhood best friend and roller skating/slumber party buddy when I was 15 and she was 16 in a car accident. Those funerals are so hard. I am still close to her parents. They never get tired of hearing about our childhood hijinks.... the ones we didn't mention or blamed on Not Me.

Moo- Congrats on DD's graduation. I hope you continue to feel better. Hurry down to keep Cel on the straight and narrow.

Celery- ER?!? I hope you are ok and quit worrying your mama that way.

Celerysmama- Hi! I hope your little lamb didn't worry you too much.

Marita- Moohooty on hearing from DS!

PJ- I thought we agreed that your right shoulder was perfectly proportioned?

BNCG- Have some smilies: :teeth: :yoda: :charac2: :music: :cake: :boat: :umbrella:

Utah- I do want a trip report!

Things are going really well here. :thumbsup2

Melinda Oh my goodness. Prayers sent for your whole family. Tell Mimi I'm thinking of her. :(

Last night:
I guess I passed out at the pool. Still not real clear.
They took me to the ER to sleep it off. :confused3 In my bathing suit. No shoes, not even a coverup! Just my phone.
The ER nurse and I had a grand old time. She said I was the happiest drunk she'd ever seen. Plus I escaped at one point and she had to come find me outside. Since she hadn't called my mom, I figured everything was ok.
Til I turned my phone on. :sad2:
I guess the paramedics called my mom. So she was up all night worrying about me.

Happy Early Mother's Day!! :scared:
I'm sorry.

Maybe I should stop drinking.

Thanks for the kind words, everybody.

Celery
....How are you feeling today? Then that really was your mom that posted last night? You escaped the ER in your swimsuit? And no shoes? Heh. I know you're on vacation but....take it easy. Glad you're OK.

Twinkie...Look at this! Put a shampoo horn on Grasshopper and take his picture!

Rob....Have fun at the ballpark! Eat a hot dog for me!

Twinkie...Look at this! Put a shampoo horn on Grasshopper and take his picture!

Hee hee. Too bad I just cut Goldenchild's hair. He is eligble until Monday. :guilty: It doesn't show up in the pictures but Grasshopper has perfect hair. It is growing in evenly and there are no bald spots. It even sticks up like a buzz cut. People keep asking me where you take an infant to get his hair cut:confused3 :rotfl: but it is just like that.

I don't think he has enough hair for a shampoo horn. I'll experiment with a mohawk :rolleyes1

Twinkie- Ok, I'll totally do a mini-TR of my family picnic birthday fun! It'll be a Norman Rockwell kind of day , I'm sure. :cool2: :rolleyes1 :scared1: I'm taking bets on how many teen girls out of the 3 are pregnant, wasted, crying. Etc. Hopefully one or more will wear their dasiy-duke short shorts (with visible thong) for my TR. Last gathering I whispered to one of them that her foof was hanging out but I said the V word. She laughed, but honest to God, it was true! :sad2: Mind you, each of these girls is 200 pounds plus. :rolleyes1

Melinda- Goodness! Call me if you need an ear!

Celery- :sad2: Still love you , BUT, you are cruisin for a bruisin! Me and your sainted mother are gonna put you in the tired hospital!

RobIn
- In my head, sports= hotdogs and other fine baseball food. That's all I can contribute to all your endless sports talk. We're having hotdogs today too. The family nixed my idea of bbq ribs or at least steak. I think we just went with "cheap" Ballpark franks. Have a lovely day.

Cel, glad you're doing OK today. You KNOW how we worry! Take it easy today, drink lots of water, and stay away from the alkyhol!!!!!

We're leaving around 9 tomorrow and will call in the early evening when we get close.

Today we're heading to the beach, which is a pretty long drive, but it should be fun to see our grandpuppy Cash chase the seagulls!

Lex, I'm so sorry to hear about your family's losses. What a rough week {{{HUGS}}}

Hopefully Pumba has made it safely to Florida!

GOOG MORNING, SUNSHINES!!!!!!

Lexi...WOW. I am so sorry to hear all of those things. That is just way too much! I'll remember your whole family in my prayers. When I was a Senior in high school I had a good friend commit suicide as a result of his mother's death from cancer. I guess I was about Mimi's age and I remember how awful it was. Hugs and prayers for your whole family.

Cel...enough. You're done. You had your fun, now you will behave. Got it? I'm not joking around, don't make me go teacher on you.

Utah...why does your family picnic sound so similar to my family Thanksgiving this year? :scratchin

BigL...so you lost and EARRING? Not an EAR RING? ;) Seriously, sorry to hear that. Maybe you could call the store and see if anyone turned it in?

Marita...yay on hearing from DS! Even if it was just a quick call, it must have been goog to hear his voice, right?

Twink...glad things are going well in Stepford. :thumbsup2

Moo...have fun at the beach!!! :woohoo: Congrats to your DD on gragiwashon. Now hurry down to Disney and keep Cel in line!

A big WELCOME to cel's mama!!!!!!!!
:welcome:

Last night was my little sister's birthday party. I think it means I'm a cool big sister that I was invited, right? We went to Cheesecake Factory and then we were planning to go to the drive-in but it was really cold and rainy. So, we just watched a movie at home and we're going to try the drive-in tonight. Looks like a beautiful, sunny day so far!

So now I'm famous at the resort. :guilty: One of the activities guys said I made his night. At least I was entertaining, right? :rolleyes1

No drinking today.
None tomorrow either til Moo gets here.

Yes, that really was my mom on here last night.
She talked to Marita on the phone and Moo pmed her.

She didn't want to post what was happening on here, but told both of my grandparents!
Argh!
So I worried them too. :sad2: :sad1:

Anyway, on to happier things.
Like my trip report!

Yesterday I went to Epcot. I can't tell you all how wonderful it is being thin(ner). I walked around the entire world showcase without getting tired or feeling worn out!
I only rode mission space, test track and the three cabalaros (sp). The rest of the time I just wandered and soaked up all the disney atmosphere.
Oh!
They've got the garden center for the festival in the wonders of life pavilion. It's really nice.

I wanted to go to tom sawyer island today and find a paintbrush, but for some reason, I couldn't get going this morning.
I did eventually go over to the MK around 10 or 11. Again, being thin means going to the MK for an ice cream sandwich (Oh my goodness, y'all! Babycow was right! these things are incredible! I had to throw more than half of it away though since I can't eat that much of it.) and riding haunted mansion makes sense!
Before, all the walking for that little reward wouldn't have been worth it.
I had to come back early for a meeting with the timeshare people. I'm sure they're going to try and sell me more points, but I get 25 bucks out of it. At least they come to my unit.
After that, I'll probably go to MGM.
and do the toy story preview! woo!

sorry this mini trip report isn't funny! I have no one to make fun of. Wait til moo gets here. ;)

I'm in charge of cupcakes (check), potato salad (check), and drinks in cans (check). I filled our cooler (that doubles as luggage in WDW ;) ) with root beer, Capri Suns, Sunny D's, 7-up, bottled water (that no one but me will touch), and diet pepsi.

Camera has a fresh card. Ready to rock and roll. Camp chairs and football packed. NO I do not play football, at least not well. At all. I throw like a girl who can't throw. Let Family Freakin' Fun Begin! popcorn::

PJ- as long as the drama isn't starring YOU. :lovestruc

Celery!!!! Sorry for your BAD night. I know what you mean about world showcase being thin(nish)! Sounds heavenly! I'd soooo much rather be there than here.

Lexi, how awful!!!!!!! {{{Hugs to your family}}}

Cel, glad you are ok. Your mom has a lovely southern accent, LOL
Stay out of trouble, ok?
HI, Cel's MOM!!

PJ, yes, you are a cool big sister :thumbsup2

Twinkie and Wendee, hope you had family fun day today!

Moo, safe travels tomorrow.

DS just called again. DH and I were both on the phone. He said they are throwing so much stuff at them to learn that his head is exploding. And he is in the "best" squadrom, whatever that means, but apparently it adds pressure. And since he is an education major, he was put in charge of academics of his squad :scared1: I asked what his day is like, and he said he didn't know, it changes. And that he misses seeing the news. Also said he now has sort of the day off the rest of the day, but then I heard voices in the background, he said "hold" and then he hung up. :confused3

In other news, I decided to go to the grocery store yesterday to get some fried chicken, and pulled into the very first parking spot, making a tight left turn. And proceeded to hit the bumper of a big truck!
I checked my bumper, all was good....
So I got up this morning and DH asked how the accident happened.
I said, what accident????
Apparently the trucks bumper hit the right center of the grill, not the bumper, enough so that the side of the hood is now popped out and the grill is dented in
I had an appointment today to get my nails done. I called specifically to ask for someone who does it quickly, since it's the most boring thing in the world to me. I got the wife's owner. Great, she is good.
BUT, she was also running behind, and then took about 3 breaks to do other peoples eyebrows. So it STILL ended up taking 1 1/2 hours, grrrrrrrrrr

Water hog! Seems like you could share a few bottles with the group. :sad2:

Ouch Marita. Rough weekend for you.

Sports for the day is complete. Both games played today were by DS7, James, as DS12's tournament got rained out. DS7's flag football team went 8-0 on their season which is a big deal because the teams that play flag football in the Spring season also are generally the teams that are quite good at football (this is true of most "off-season" sports -- if a team is playing basketball in the summer, they generally are pretty fond of basketball and pretty good at it).

We then had a few hours off during which time I vacuumed the house thoroughly (DW wants a clean house for Mother's Day and I intend to give it to her. Also with DS12's tournament cancelled tomorrow, I will now be home in the morning so I am trying to plan out a breakfast in bed for her here at the last moment.) before heading to the baseball diamond where DS7's team won their first game of the season (their first win, that is, second game of the year). Not to brag but my coaching at third base, along with the boys' base running, played a large role in today's win as did my knowledge of the rules.

On the rules thing, the Umpire had already called game over (due to hitting the 75-minute time limit) and the other team had won. I said not so fast, Blue (that's the nickname for all umpires, Wendy and PJ). We still have 2 minutes to go. He said, yeah, but your team has to be in their positions ready to go (which we could have been IF he had not yelled game over). I pointed out to him that our league rules state that the next inning begins as soon as the last out of the previous inning is made so he had the teams take the field for one last inning. The other team batted first but we held them to no runs in the last inning, score was still 10-7 in favor of them, going into the bottom of the last inning. We needed 3 to tie and 4 to win and we scored all four runs with zero outs so we went from being the "losers" after the 5th inning to being the winners after the 6th inning.

Now we're off in about 30 minutes, to dinner at my parents home and a birthday celebration for my grandmother.
