Moo'vers 2012 Edition! come on in!

I'm home!

Very tired and sunburned. It was cloudy and sunny on Castaway Cay and didn't put enough sunscreen on. The half of me that wasn't under the umbrella burnt.

We had lovely weather on the cruise all but Thursday night when the wind really picked up and we went though a storm. Didn't think we would make it into the island but we had a calm day a little wind but I could live with that.

Moo -- we missed you this time around.

Marita-- Sorry we missed you this time too. We had a Royal Room this time it was very nice and close to the main building. Had a problem with the safe. The last people broke the key off and it took all day and night with people in and out of our room trying to fix it. We just used a safety deposit box in the lobby.

They have really changed Downtown Disney since we were there last year. You don't get off the resort boat at the same spot so it confused us a bit.

Well off to throw our wet clothes from the beach yesterday in the wash , I am definitely sleeping in tomorrow!

Welcome back, Nab! Great to hear you had mostly good weather. I loved our March cruise back in 2008, I want to do it again sometime, but with DD now a teacher, it will be only during school holidays, grrr, good bye good deals!

I think I mentioned we cancelled our plans for Europe this summer due to the issues at DS's base and not knowing if he would be able to get leave, so we have no summer plans yet. Our son is actually going to be fairly close to home for a couple of months, in Alabama for 2 month school. We probably wont get to see him though, it's not THAT close and hopefully we will have vacation in June. However, DD and her BF are going to meet him this weekend in Pensacola for a couple of days. We were NOT invited :rolleyes1
It's fine though, I am happy the kids are so close and DD will visit her BFF who lives there and her new baby that DD is in love with. Who knows, DD may even want a baby of her own now, LOL.

Sure wish I'd been on the cruise too, Nabbie! Sounds like you had a nice trip other than the sunburn :)

Well now Nicholas and I have a start of a cold. Always happens.

Yes we had a great trip and did book again when on board for the same time next year but might change it not sure. Hubby bought me a nice piece of jewelry for my birthday and 20th anniversary that is coming up this year. It is a blue diamond with smaller white ones entwined on the sides. We are definitely in debt now...lol. He needs to work a lot of overtime for awhile. Not sure if you remember I was the one that didn't want a bigger house, well I felt really guilty getting this ring. The employees couldn't believe I would turn it down. He wanted to get me an even bigger cut but I wouldn't let him.

Liked the Magic bands to get into the park and your room. Even dining plan but did not like the fast pass part.

Crappy fast passes to choose from. You can not pick Soaring and Test track together. You get to pick three fast passes for the day and you get one popular one and two not so popular. It makes you stay in one park all day because of this. Found that all the other fast passes were gone and machines covered up if you wanted something else. Did see a lot of people running back to their rooms because kids took it off and never put it back on . This wouldn't happen with the cards since I hold all of them...:rotfl:

We have had pretty nice weather the last day or two, calling for freezing rain tomorrow morning , wonder if we will have yet another snow day. Then the awful stuff is going to turn into more snow. I am so done with winter.

Marita-- tell your kids to hurry up and get married so you can have grandbabies. You do have the grand puppy.

Hannah is watching Frozen...came out today and had to go get it. She saw it twice at the show and it was playing on the boat. Do you want to build a snow man... she is always asking me.

This is what I got for my birthday/anniversary present this year.... because Moo asked...lol

It is so much more sparkly in person, the blue stone is a little darker then aquaramine but not as dark as topaz. It looks dark here for some reason. It is a blue diamond with little diamonds in woven pattern. on the sides.

Thanks for the birthday wishes over there!

Hannah has tired me out. We were out last night and today looking at prom dresses. That and every other grade 8 and 12 students.

The lady at the shop liked her in a red one but it didn't have to much bling and didn't photography well. Hannah liked this canary yellow one. It was bright but she liked the bling on it top.

We had an audience most of the time so every time she came out they would go awe , but some when she went back in to change they shook their heads no...it was quite funny. We narrowed it down to two a coral one with a lot of bling on the top and a aqua/blue one that was like the yellow one she liked. All the teens like the coral on her , she liked it too , I thought you could match the shoes and jewellery better with the silver bling on the blue dress. Plus it was softer on her. We were told we could go wrong with either by everyone so we let her make up her mind. After going back and forth at least 5 times per dress she choice the blue one.

The lady at the store said I am going to have fun when she wants a wedding dress. ....:rotfl: The worse part was we were holding up dressing room and the store was packed but she said that she wanted Hannah to have what she wanted and to take our time. So $225. later we have a dress. Now we need shoes. We have lots of time she doesn't have prom until end of June. By then there will be slim pickings.

hello...been so darn busy the last few weeks...besides hubby doing more construction...he is now doing our closets..making shelves and taking out the one that someone (the ones that owned before us) paid big bucks for...just not practical for putting stuff in a big closet..so hubby got oak and is doing shelves and hanging rods himself..

I still have not found a dress for our granddaughters wedding..we are going next saturday to the Maine mall to look...then the next day is one of the bridal showers...She and her fiance have found a cute house to buy...very nice and immaculate...that sure helps..three bedrooms, kitchen dining room and big living room...also a mud room and a two car garage...the basement is so clean you could eat off the floors...inspection went well...and they are waiting to close..

we are at the 30 day mark to go to Disney...we got our magic bands yesterday and I was so excited..you would think I have never been...insert rolling eyes here...

Hope yu are all well and will visit more often

Pumba-- there was one grandma in among the teenagers yesterday trying on outfits. It was really funny because she didn't like the sales lady. She said she liked everything. The lady just looked a me like are you kidding. She did have a really nice navy dress and over up top with shear sleeves that really looked nice on her. Hope she bought that one.

Hope the weather is nice for you in 30 days. I don't think winter is ever going to give up this year. It is nice today, sunny and above 0 but they are calling for snow by Wed.

Easter is in three weeks. I have seen it snow on that day before when I was a teen. I'm all ready for Easter, well if I don't eat any again. :lmao: The bunny in the closet and his lovely mini chocolate eggs keep calling to me!

They did sell Beligiun chocolate eggs at church this morning for Pro Life so I got us all one. I will eat it tonight while watching Amazing Race. ( I really should be good and not eat it since my sugar counts have been up in the morning)

Hello everyone..

Bridal shower went awesome...we had a great group of family and friends and I looked at our frist granddaughter and thought ...where did the almsot 25 years go...big sigh here..

we are in the countdown mode...less then three weeks and we will be in Disney...I am so excited..can hardly wait to go..
Our granddaughter will stay here in our house and take care of megara while we are gone...I am sure that Megara will be happier here then at the kennel...she does have to go for the long weekend when the wedding comes up...

I am not sure that my blood glucose thingie is right...cause it was so high this morning and then I did it again and it went down twenty points...so will look at walmart when we go for hubbies meds today...I did put in a new battery a few months ago...weird..

The snow is melting and hopefully we have no more ...We too have had to put on snowsuits for the kids when we went to Easter Mass...and one year I had to climb over snowbankings to go to the Shrine Circus which is the same time every year ..(like its been forever)...school vacation and circus ...so the middle of April...hubby said he would let any new snow rot before he snowblows it ..but he has said that before and still had to bring out the blower..hahaha..

have a good week everyone

Pumba -- How exciting to have a wedding coming up. We haven't had one in a long time now. All my niece and nephews seem to live together instead. Did have one niece just get married at the Justice of the peace a few months ago. They have a 16 year old son.

I wish I could do a do over at Disney since we had terrible weather the two days were there. The weather has been nice here all week. All our snow is now gone. My snow tires come off today so here hoping we don't get anymore.

Kids schedules have been keeping us busy. Church is busy since it is Easter season.

Moo-- Saw your picture of your laundry room. It is looking good. I wish mine was that big.It looks like it would make a good mudd room too.

Yes, Nabbie, it is a combination laundry/mud room! The smell from painting is still pretty strong and I still have to do one more window plus the doors and second coats on everything. Wish I had gotten the low odor paint, but I'm not sure how much it would have helped! My sister's assault trial (by blankety blank boyfriend) has been this week and I have been attending, so I probably won't paint again until the weekend. The case went to the jury this afternoon and they will be deliberating starting at 8:30 tomorrow. I'm going back to work and waiting to hear the verdict on the five felony charges by phone. Hope he goes to prison for a really long time.

Congrats, Pumba! Sure wish I had a Disney trip coming up! ;)

Verdict came back after the jury deliberated most of the day - guilty of 4 of the 5 charges. Sentencing will be in late May. Prosecutor's office said probably 4-19 years, but I'm hoping he gets sent to prison for the maximum time due to prior convictions and that my sister can move on from this. Wish she had never gotten mixed up with him!

Rough week :(

Wow, Moo, what a horrible thing to go through. I hope your sister I s ok.

we are thinking of taking a cruise with the kids. a 4th year in Montana with nothing to do didn't sound to good, you can only do mountain so long, and I don't hike or horseback ride. I am hoping for 5 night Disney cruise, but,, wow, does that site suck? the ask what port and ship I want and when and where? I just want a menu of offerings. So I looked around on other sites.
Anyone have recommendations?

Thanks, Marita. The assault happened back in mid-September, so this has been a long process. She still feels bad for the guy, but I keep telling her he deserves to be put away so he can't hurt her or anyone else again. You can still see some damage on her face after more than six months. We think he kicked her in the face after dragging her back into the apartment with his arm around her neck to the point that she passed out. I was surprised that the charge they didn't convict him on was assault by strangulation because the neighbor saw her laying in the doorway and she had bruising on her neck. Pretty horrific. She has bounced back from a lot of bad things in her life, so I pray she can get past this too!

Sorry to be so depressing...

Marita, I would definitely stick with a Disney cruise, maybe on a different ship? Isn't there a separate number you can call to book as a cast member? Plus, you are a Castaway Club member now since you have cruised before.

Moo-- I hope he gets the max too. That is terrible. Hope your sister can heal from the emotional part. There are a lot of abuse woman that feel sorry for the guy and go back or stay with them.

Marita-- Not sure what you are looking for. The beach and sun? My husband was waiting for the 2015 ones to come. They have but they are so expensive. he would love to go to Iceland or the one that goes to Russia and Germany I think. We have been doing the Eastern route on the Fantasy and Dream a lot. good thing about that is we have been so we don't feel like we have to rush and see everything each time. I'm sure you have visited the Cruise line Forum on the dis.

The sun is shining I really love this weather. Raked up the front lawn , need to do the back now. Going to get rain for the weekend boo to that but it will green up the grass nicely. Just as it is not snow I am happy.

Hello everyone..
first off...Almost Happy Easter to you all...and Passover to the rest...just had snow yesterday but it melted fast..THANK GOODNESS>

Got a dress for the wedding...ending up FINALLY finding one at Macys at the Maine Mall...phew for that..

We go to Disney in one week and 4 days...YES I am counting...hahaha...

Moo..quite a few years back I used to do a Beware of your surroundings post in October...because my sweet niece was kidnapped and sexually assaulted from her own work parking area...this man had been stalking her for weeks to get to her at a good time...she finally recovered from this ordeal...she is happily married to a wonderful man...her previous husband could not overcome this tragedy...they had a beautiful daughter from her previous marriage and now has a ten month old baby girl ..so life has triumphed and i hope that your sisters life will turn around and live again...14 years ago for my niece...sometimes having a support group of family or groups that have gone thru this helps...

Wedding plans are still going strong...YIPPEE>.

have a good day every one

Pumba-- HAPPY ALMOST EASTER TO YOU TOO!

We had snow 2 days with week. Still pretty cold out but the snow is gone where we are not in other places though. This has been one long winter, didn't anyone tell mother nature that it is spring.

What colour of dress did you buy? Is it going to be a big wedding? I love weddings. My nephew was suppose to get married next August but are now having a baby this Sept. So not sure if we will get a wedding now. It seems to be a pattern for my nieces and nephews. They have kids live together and then maybe go to the Justice of the Peace. Wonder what my dad would think if he was still around...in his will ( 18 years ago) he wrote that if any of us kids had children out of wedlock we wouldn't get anything. :confused3 Didn't really matter since it all went to my mom but we thought that was every odd thing to put in a will. Considering my mom was 7 months pregnant when they got married. :lmao:

Happy almost Easter, everyone

Congrats to Pumba for the dress and Nab for nice weather.

My cruise drama is still going on, but we finally settled on June 15ish on the Dream, 4 days to Nassau. DS complained he has been there 3 times already, both kids complained it was too expensive (even though we are paying :confused3); But Nicole cant get off in September for 4 days (which would save $4K, July and August are even more expensive, so June it is!

Everyone thought that 7 days was too long, I didn't look the RCCL ship going for 5 nights, and nobody wants to go on Carnival. Oh well, here goes our retirement fund..... might as well spend it when we still can.

So now I am just waiting to see if DS can get vacation time.
