Moo'vers 2012 Edition! come on in!

morning everyone..

Having the family tomorrow for our Easter dinner...I always do 5 oclock ..that way they can sleep in or go to Mass..or go to other family gatherings...I do this for Christmas and Thanksgiving too...

The dress is black on the bottom...a little below my knee...black belt, then on the top is sleeveless...with geometric patterns of black, brown, beige, and an off white top...I do like it..although I am not really fond of dresses...but had to get one for this wedding..Monday will go and find me some shoes...hahaha...

we are just a little over one week to go to the best place to relax for me..Even with our kids and grandkids...I love Disney...cant help myself...hahahaha..

Thursday I made ...peanut butter fudge...yes I know..not supposed to have it but I NEEDED a sugar fix...so I have been eating a little piece here and there...will offer it tomorrow to whoever wants a piece....that way I wont eat it all...
hardboiled a dozen eggs so I can make deviled eggs tonight...on pinterest...someone posted that you cut the whites in half ..take out the yolk of course and whip that up...but the whites you put in a bowl of colored vinegar ...and the color goes into the whites ..like reds and blues..it was beautiful...and also if someone doesnt like that type of food dye...get some kool aid..which probably has dyes in it too..oh well...it would be pretty..

Happy Easter and have a great family togetherness day

Pumba -- I'm sure you will look beautiful in your dress. I have found I can actually find lower heels on nice shoes this year. Usually they all have spikes, maybe you would like a pair of 4 inch spikes...

I coloured 2 1/2 dozen eggs. The deviled eggs sound cool. I get coloured whites when they colour the eggs that crack.:rotfl: That was only one this year.

We went to my mom's for Easter dinner , I was there with Hannah all weekend and Nicholas and hubby came yesterday. Saw all my family but one brother. It was so nice just to sit around talking and laughing with them. It went to fast.

Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend. The kids are still off school here today and all government stuff is closed. So much candy in the house you can smell the chocolate. :lmao:

Asking for prayers tonight.

My mom is in the hospital. She got pain between her shoulder blade that moved down to her stomach. They thought she was having a heart attack but ruled that out. They did a Cat scan and found a spot on her lung. She was a heavy smoker since she was 18 and is now 81. She has become a closet smoking telling us she stopped but we knew. We can smell it on her but thought this makes her smoke less when we are all around.

Her stomach is still bloated they are trying to get the pain under control and is on oxygen. A specialist is coming in to see her tomorrow. I hate being so far away and will likely head there tomorrow and will probably not sleep tonight and have my cell phone handy.

Well I will do an update...

My mom is home now but has to go in on Monday for a biopsy. They found a 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inch spot on her lung. Going to do radiation on that spot right after as well. Told us that it could take 2-4 weeks for the results. They are looking for cancer.

She is happy to be home but she is wobbly my sister said and a little foggy. From being in bed for 4 days and the meds I guess. I was there for a day and half with her at the hospital and she was looking better when I left to come home so that is good. Says she doesn't like being 81 . Marita don't know how you lived so far away from your mom. It is torture to rely on my brothers and sisters to tell me what is going on there but I still have to take care of my family here.

Nab, sp sorry about your mom, prayers sent

I totally missed your post from the other day, sorry to post so late.
Yes, it is hard to be so far away, but I knew mom was in great hands with my brother and SIL. You just have to learn to live with it.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY !

Hope you all get pampered today!

I got breakfast made for me this morning before church that was nice. Nicholas bought me flowers, first time ever on his own. I was very touched. Hannah made me a heart using the foil from her Easter eggs....:rotfl: I feel very loved.

Oh how the time files.

Hannah turns 14 today. They sang to her at church this morning , the priests are so proud of her. She alter serves every weekend , even when she is not scheduled because people don't show up. She turned all red. Someone also sang every loudly in the parking lot to her before we went into church. It was too funny.

Nicholas turned 17 on May 8, he said he couldn't wait to her birthday next year when he could decorate her locker. I'm sure she will do the same for him. It will be his last year of high school too.

My mom has to go for a Pet Test on Tuesday. The biopsy found cancer. This test will determine if she will need surgery to remove the growth and if it is grown in the last two weeks. These last few weeks have been crazy. Lots of phone tag to find out what is going on since I'm not right there.

It's a long weekend here, on the cool side but sunny. Nicholas has to work two days so we can't go anywhere.

Marita-- how is the cruise planning going?

Pumba-- are you at Disney now or it is coming up?

Moo-- Your room is coming along really nice, saw the pictures. Would hate to paint around all those windows and baseboard. I'm not a great painter I would have more on the floor and window ....

NAB, wow, Hannah is 14! I think she was 8 when we all met. Time flies indeed.

So sorry to hear about your mom. I hope they can cure whatever quickly.
Scary times for sure.

Cruise planning is pretty much done. I wish we had the Navigators ahead of time to try and plan better. I mostly just want to do the beverage tastings, LOL, and we have Palo brunch booked. I signed us all up for a fishing excursion on Castaway Cay, since hubby and son wanted to do that, but then I thought the better of it and took myself off the reservation. No way I want to bake in the sun for 3 or 3.5 hours on the water. I am sure I can find things to do on the ship or island instead. Plus, it saves $139 (plus tip) to spend on beverage tastings, LOL.

In other news, we got a security system last week since there were a couple of break-ins on our street recently. Hubby left Friday to meet Chris in Alabama to drive back up to Montana with him after Chris' 2 month course. Poor son is more than ready to be home again.
Anyway, so DH is gone and I am all alone. Yesterday, I went shopping for clothes (without luck, did I mention I HATE shopping?). So I came home, tried to disarm the alarm and it kept telling me "invalid code"! WTH? I tried over and over. INVALID CODE! Finally I hit some button that I think is "clear entry" and it worked and displayed "Alarm cancelled". WHEW.
Shortly after DH called, he got a call from the company telling him the alarm went off and that I should call them to say all is ok or police would come. I said, NO, the display said alarm is cancelled. He insisted I call. I didn't.
I play on my computer, feeling all smug that I was right.
Then the door bell rings, like 30 minutes later loud knocks on the door. Police was there!
I assured the officer all was fine. Of course I cant admit to Dh that he was right, so you all get to hear the story, LOL.

Although I do have to say, I could have been long dead by the time the police showed up.......

Marita-- your plans sound great. Too funny about your alarm. One of the houses down the street has an alarm but it just sounds , no one is contacted. It used to go off so much people started to ignore it just like people do with car alarms these days.

Pumba--HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY! I did see the lovely wedding pictures you had posted over on FB . Loved the light pink. You have a lovely family and it was nice to see you in a picture.

Moo-- What have you been up too. I did see your picture with Mari , very nice. She really looks like Don.

My mom went for a test on Friday to see if the cancer spread in her body now we have to wait until Tuesday to know the results.

NAB, wishing the best for your mom

I have a follow up story to the alarm going off. A few days later, we got a letter from the Sheriff about the false alarm sending an officer to our house, with admonitions and threats. BUSTED!! But hubby never said anything, he just left the letter on my chair.

Fast forward to today: Last night (Saturday night) I was engrossed in an old trip report and didn't go to bed till 3:30am.
At 7am today, hubby storms in to wake me up. He set the alarm and couldn't figure out how to turn it off! So I got up, fixed it, called the security company to cancel the alarm. By then I was wide awake and have been up ever since (it's now 10:30pm). But I'm going to bed now, and hope I hear the alarm tomorrow morning, sigh!

:sad::sad::sad:

Have to ask for more prayers....my family is really going though a rough time.

After finding out about my mom's lung cancer , she has day surgery on Monday and lung surgery to remover a part of her lung on the 19th.

Today we find out my brother also has cancer and is going to be having surgery some time this week. They found a tumor between his pancreas and colon.

My mind is just spinning....

OH wow, Nab, that is horrible. I'm hoping for the best for your family. Prayers sent!

 Maria your the best.

Well we found out 4 days ago about my brother. Last night they had him in surgery. They took a lot of body parts, gallbladder, spleen, 1/3 of his stomach and 1/3 of his pancreas and a foot or so of his small intestine. It's like playing the operation game on him. He is great pain as you can imagine and will be in ICU for at least 4 days.

My mom goes in on next week for hers. I am so scared for her and the pain she will be in too.

I'm pretty sure my hair is going to be white by the end of the summer.

Thanks for you prayers.

Enough about me I can't remember when your going on your cruise Marita. Is it in the hot summer?

Oh Nab, so sorry about your brother and mom too! It must be so hard on you too. Don't worry about the hair though, Clairol is you friend!

leaving on Sunday for the cruise, only 4 nights, but I am sure looking forward to it. I'm actually off starting tomorrow to get stuff done. My son is flying in Saturday evening, so I am looking forward to him too. We have brunch at Palo booked, and a fishing excursion for everyone but me on CC. I will find something to do for 3 hours I would rather do than fish in the hot son, LOL.

Marita how exciting to see your son again and a nice family vacation for you all. I'm with you I would stay on the beach and read a book with a drink then go fishing.

Bring lots of sunscreen! I would think it is going to be pretty hot.

My brother is doing well. Better then we thought he would , but the nurse did tell us to expect some high days as well as the bad ones to come. He is still on some pretty good drugs so that could be the reason for his happy demeaner right now. They said they got all the cancer but with that said it could always show up at anytime somewhere else in the body. So we have to think remission not cured but right now we will take it.

Nab, so happy to hear about your brother, sounds like as good news as you can expect right now.

I have been perusing the cruise boards (again) today, and ran across a few posts from you over there, LOL.

Yep that is the only other forum I go to anymore and this one.

Kids only have a week and half left of school so it is crazy busy around here. I still have to buy teachers gifts....well at least go pick up teachers gift they are getting gift cards.

Nabbie, just wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you and sending prayers for your family. I forgot my password over here, so it took a while to remember the correct one after seeing that I wasn't logged in after my phone was updated :(

I will try to get back here sooner next time! I still have the holidays background even though I thought I had changed it!!!

Hope Marita and family have a great cruise.

Nab, Marita, and all of my other friends....I guess life got in the way and I didnt make it to visit you all here..

Nab...prayers are there for you and your family...hope that they all recoup fast and are on the road to recovery...

Lung Cancer and all the other cancers are a horrible thing to have around us all...Maybe our children will find the cures ...

Our sweet granddaughter and her new hubby went to Disney for their honeymoon ..they had a blast...They went to Biergarten for dinner, also Luau at the Poly, Shula's at the Dolphin for their dress up dinner...and someplace else..

They had a great time..
Prayers to you all...

almost forgot ..I got a moose permit...the last week of september...

Marita -- I have totally lost track of time. Have you been on the cruise yet or is it still coming?

Thanks for all the nice comments over on FB. Yes Hannah is all grown up, she was so into this grad it scares me what grade 12 grad will be like. She was a mess of tears on the last day of school but held it together last night. She had those spiral flowers in the back of her hair that looks so nice , almost bridal...eek. They were the worse things to get out, there were 6 of them and I thought I would have to cut them out they were so tangled up. She took the bobby pins out this morning and there were 70 of them.

Summer has started for her a week early but she is going to back this week to help the kindergarten teacher clean up and get the little ones out the door for the summer. Nicholas still has two exams to write, cross your fingers he passes both or summer school here he comes. For some reason he just doesn't care if he does the work or not...it is sad.

My brother came home yesterday after being in the hospital , 2 weeks. He is still draining fluids and has to figure out how to eat smaller food and foods that really upset him. They talked about dumping and I remember Celery mentioning that after her surgery on her stomach.

Mom was suppose to come home yesterday then today but she is having problems with fluids too. She is very bloated and is now throwing up. Which sends her oxygen levels off and she was put back on oxygen after finally getting off it. They say it has nothing to do with her lung surgery that is healing well now we have stomach issues. I will be heading back on Sunday again and staying with her for a week when she gets out. I do not know if I am coming or going anymore.

Today I wash and restock for my family here. Now they really know how much I do at home when I am not there. ....
