Moo'vers 2012 Edition! come on in!

Nab, maybe you could try a no ice dance? Never know, it worked for rain for the Indians.

Got out all my winter sweaters to wash tonight and a peacoat I inherited from my daughter. Size Large. It's too big for her now, but fits me now, since I gained all the weight she lost, LOL.

Snow Day!

We had everything last night. It was raining when I went to bed last night now everything is pretty icy this morning.

Nicholas is still in bed didn't even wake him up but Hannah still wants to go to school. Schools are always open here for the walkers. She could have the day off but she wants the social day with her friends. So I won't stop her. Hubby thinks she is crazy and shouldn't go out on the sidewalks. We are 5 minutes from the school. Next year she can't do this because she will be on the school bus it gets cancelled no way to get there then.

The weather man said we will be -41 tomorrow. Oh how I hate the cold!!

Marita -- did you get your frost over night?

Lots and lots of snow here today! And our office is closed :) First work snow day since I started working 30+ years ago!!! Very bad wind chill here as well, Nabbie.

NAB, frost is coming tonight. Today was still in the 60's during the day, but plummeting tonight.

Moo, I want a snow day, whaaa!!

When I was a kid in Germany we would sometimes get heat days off, since there was no AC. That was when it got up to about 80 degrees, LOL.

morning..
after three days off from snow/ice days..(and Christmas break) .they went back this morning...we had torrential downpours yesterday and then it iced over...but the cities were busy all night putting salt and sand down......all of Maine went back today..no school delays even...weird..

My daughter said that it will be hard to get the kids back on track...as her kids that she teaches..are going to be totally off..She always started a new program with them ...life skills...they dont do this any more in regular school settings..

Megara went out this morning and very slowly put her butt down..hub said that she knew she would fall...so she sat there and looked at hubby and said..I've fallen and cant get up...but she did and ran like the dickens to pee and come in...she did that the other day when it was 24 below zero..

I know you are cold Marita...it is hard to adjust to that big of a dip in temps...stay warm..

Hope you all have a great day and see ya

We are back today too Pumba but it is very cold here.

I made sure the kids were layered up this morning. It was -39 this morning. The sun just came out so hopefully it will warm up a little. Just an hour west and east of us are getting hit hard with snow and cold temps. and they have a snow day again.

Will stay in today. I'm glad I have that luxury but hubby had to go to work and the kids had to go to school I almost feel guilty.

I was back to work today :( Area schools were off today and many are off again tomorrow due to the extreme wind chills and so many roads are still not plowed or are drifted over. Thankfully, my road was OK today.

Just read that all states in the US had parts that dipped below freezing today. Wow!

Forgot to say that we only left our pups out for a couple minutes at a time and I think they had a tough time going due to the extreme cold! Brrr. Hubby and I even let them out the front door a few times where it wasn't quite as deep. But we had to keep a really close eye on them so they wouldn't take off and chase some critter!!!

we are warm ..I LOVE IT...well 30 is warm...and I am sucking it in by standing in front of the sliding glass doors in the dining room...LOVE IT..the sun makes me warm..

Today went with my neighbor to one of our stores...and her car seats are heated...I thought i was in heaven...it was fantastic...my back and my butt were very happy...

Didnt buy anything..but could of...I was starting to get hungry so we left...

Hubby is still doing the bathroom upstairs...the walls are almost done and the lights were put back up..next will be the medicine cabinets that are three mirror movers...I think he is chopping ice right now...or maybe he is putting the new cabinets in..will go and check in a minute...

after the cabinets the new sinks will be put in and then the power flusher...almost done in that bathroom...and it all started because of the ceiling...ROFL...

Pumba -- that happens all the time. Think to fix one thing and it you keep going. :lmao:

It is warming up here too , only -16 today. The wind is still pretty cold though. I was out chopping ice off the sidewalk. Second time this winter having to do that because it is too cold for the salt to work. Crazy that they say we will be 7 by Saturday we might want to take off our coats. Maybe not it is calling for 80% rain. What a mess that is going to be with the snow and ice.

e this winter having to do that because it is too cold for the salt to work. Crazy that they say we will be 7 by Saturday we might want to take off our coats.

:lmao:Practically a heat wave! We are supposed to be back in the 80's by Saturday.

I almost shared a pic tonight, but I refrained. Beautiful snow picture with the caption of: My favorite part of winter is watching it on TV.

It's OK, though, this will come back to bite me in the summer when it will unbearably HOT here.

Well there are days when it is snow big flakes and everything is white and beautiful. Picture perfect.... Then people drive in it and make it all dirty and you have to shovel it.

Woke up to another cold morning. That weather man better be right and warmer weather come. I hate this deep freeze. But your right Marita I don't like really hot either. Picky I am .:rotfl2:

Our new mattress is coming tomorrow. I'm afraid they will take this one away and I will want it back. Mattress is 22 years old , it came with hubby. He was complaining of a sore back and I wasn't sleeping well so he blamed the mattress, but did we pick the right one to replace it. I hope so.

40 degrees and lots of rain yesterday sure melted a LOT of our snow! The news is saying that it has turned unplowed streets and dirt roads into ice rinks :( Think I'll be sticking to main roads if I venture out today!!!

It was so nice not to have to bundle up to go outside last night!

Moo, I sure would be bundling up at 40 degrees, LOL. That's freezing cold to me

It's 41 F right now and raining here too. Was out breaking up some of the ice that is under all that run off. We have a small swimming pool in front of our drive way because it won't run off due too the ice.

Was so hot I indeed took off my coat today while chopping ice....:lmao:

We got our new mattress, no problem so far with the mattress but the box spring is too high. I almost need a step stool to get into bed. Our frame was already up off the floor so this just made it so much higher. I didn't think anything of it when she asked if the boxspring was an ok height. Thought we could live with yesterday but going to the bathroom in the middle of the night was not fun , plus I said when we get older I will take out my hip trying to get my leg up there.

And back to winter, it was nice while it lasted.

Nice to be back to a routine again after the holidays. We had open house at the high school last night. Everything is so different from when I went to school. :lmao: Hannah is good and loves school but has no idea what to take , Nicholas hates school but knew every course he wanted to take. He is still struggling with his school work. I want her to take Food and Nutrition , in my day it was called Home Mec. She is not sure. They have a hairstyling course in grade 10 , that room was freaky with all the wigs on heads in there. I told Hannah it is just like doing Barbie's hair.

Can't believe I will have two in high school next year. The years are flying by.

NAB, don't even talk about years flying by, I can't believe it. My kids will be 30 and 35 this year.
In my day, I had knitting and needle point and sewing, but sadly no cooking courses in school. (not that any of those really belong in school anyway).
Publix down here just opened a cooking school in town that looks like fun once I retire. A bit pricey, like $45-50 per class, but you get to eat your meal too, so I will try than when the day comes.

On vacation news front, hubby and my daughter want to go to Prague in June, and maybe Budapest, that region. I'm not too excited about it, but I guess I will go. I did look up a tour from Vacations by Disney in that area, and that excited me, takes you to Vienna too, and they arrange dinners in cool places and activities and all transportation and hotels. That I could go for. I sent it to hubby, but haven't heard from him, since I don't usually see him during the week. BUT, first I have to get both my German passport and my Alien registration renewed before then, or I wont go anywhere....

PS: I'm sure the Vacations by Disney is sinfully expensive, but I think we get a discount, just haven't checked to see how much that is yet (or priced anything for that matter). And if I stay home, it won't be the first time.

Edit: OK, forget Vacation by Disney, 5% discount, that's nothing on huge pricing, looking into some other options

Marita - I know that Vacations by Disney is expensive, but it looks like they take care of pretty much everything! I would love to do one of their trips some day.

Well, I have some sad news to share. My father-in-law passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday after having some health issues recently. It has been really rough for Don because he is SO close with his dad. I don't think it has really hit him yet because we are all still in shock. It probably will at visitation Sunday and during the funeral Monday.

Mari and her husband will be here Sunday and are staying for a few days. I think it will help having her here. And Don really loves her dog, so that will be a good distraction! I need to get cracking and do some housecleaning, but I'm just not feeling very ambitious. At least all the arrangements have been finalized. So glad that his dad pre-planned so we didn't have to decide on everything... What we did need to decide on was plenty! We had to scramble to correct the obit this morning after realizing we left out mention of the great grandchildren. Whew!

Sorry to hear that Moo. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Hopefully the weather holds out for Mari to come safely. I hate winter.

We looked into doing an inclusive with Disney but your right it is super expensive. But that is the way to go to see everything and hear about the places your going.

Nothing new happening. Hubby is working a lot to save some money for our March cruise and a few days at WDW before hand. Our dollar is dropping fast too so that sucks.

Well, hubby ruled out any kind of guided trip, so that is out :(

Moo, so sorry about your loss. I remember when my dad passed away, I had no clue he was even in the hospital, just got a call one night, I was devastated. It's always so sad.

I think pre-planning a funeral is a great idea, I think hubby and I should do that as well. When my SIL passed away, my daughter got us some documents to arrange all that, I don't know what happened to those, so will have to do that again. Also a living will, like I don't want to be kept alive by a machine.

{Hugs}
