Moo'vers 2012 Edition! come on in!

Marita...we went to the social security office and talked with one of the peeps that do the figuriing out for you..
I would lose approximately 37 dollars a month...if I took ss last October (which I did) ...and it would take up to 14 years he said to make up that difference...so I took SS and happy as a piggy...go and ask the pro's info on this and they can lay out the work for you..

We just got rid of the last of the family( only kidding)..we had 12 for dinner...I am pooped..and just have a big pot and the baking pan to finish cleaning...I have a boo boo on my pointer finger and I think something is stuck in it..hurts like a wicked...ROFL..

Hope you all had a good Easter and will see you tomorrow..APRIL 1st..can you believe that..:grouphug::santa:

Pumba, I wouldnt know what to do with my days if I retired. That is my main issue.

We put the Alaska trip on ice for now (ice, get it?), $11K just for the cruise for 5 people for a family suite with Veranday. Add on air fare and hotel and all the other stuff and you are looking at 20K. No way do I want to spend that kind of money right now, and DS is going to be probably transferred in October and may have to put his house on the market, DD and BF are still new and tentative in their jobs, and I dont know what will happen with my job situation. So, no Alaska trip, something closer to home. I suggested Disney to hubby and he said no way, LOL.

Back from a great day with my family.

Lots of leftovers came home with me. Pumpkin pie, apple pie, and my favourite cheesecake. Oh yeah and turkey and stuff for hubby who didn't get any yesterday. Not to mention the chocolate the kids got from grandma.

My birthday was last weekend but my sister gave me a present yesterday. Best gift ever. She made me a scrap book of my 50 years of life. Starting with my registeration card and hospital picture. Then she moved on from there school years, god children I have , family photos, wedding photos, etc. She also had Mickey heads and other disney things though out the whole book ending with the back of Mickey and Minnie hugging in the sunset, surrounded by pictures and notations of sisters.

She also had Aries traits , songs of the year, what my name means, etc. A lot of work went into this book.

NAB, that is an AWESOME present! You are very lucky. Sadly, in these days of digital pics, many get taken but not printed and pretty end up left in Neverland... never to be see again.

what a wonderful Birthday gift...I think it is an awesome idea for others to do this too..

yesterday spent the afternoon with my daughter. Her 6 year old Rottie ..Crazee Dazee had seizures during the morning and when I got there ..she had two ..one after another...broke my heart and I bawled like a baby holding onto this dog while my daughter very sweetly would say. Its okey Dazee...Mama and Gramma are here. I stayed until Francois got home from the store and then I left.
I sent her a note last night and she didnt answer while I was up...so I found it this morning...Dazee had multiple seizures up until the last message at ten..one right after another ...and then I got the message this morning...They put Dazee down this morning...I was sobbing so hard...Yesterday it was the worse thing to see a dog go thru this...they were Grand Mal Seizures. Dazee has had them for many years..and up until last month...she was on 17 pills a day. but she couldnt take it anymore I guess...I am crying now...so just wanted to type it out and not have my family read this...This Moo'vers post is my haven...I come here and say things I wouldnt put on facebook...cause only you guys can see this..

I am retired now Marita...I can do what I want to do ...when I want to do it..if We want to go to the store we do...if we want to go outback and swim (we will)...I can read when there is no distraction. I can have friends around and go for long walks..yah I like it..
Have a peaceful and stressless day my friends

ITS FREEZING OUT THERE..

Mt.Washington was 30 below zero with 100 mph winds...we have winds but not that high..(thank goodness)...it is in the 30s now..

Today is another day and talked to DD and she said they had a rough night without Dazee ...but Ripple (Victorian Bulldog) is taking it hard...
I cried most of yesterday...I think if I hadnt been there to help ...holding her thru two seizures did me in..
To think they went thru this all night with poor Dazee...but she is at peace now and not suffering anymore..

37 days til Disney ...My granddaughter (Dazee was her doggie) will relax and rest when we go to Disney...she is anxious but very very sad right now...thank goodness this wasnt when she had to study for a test or something...

Hope you are having a good (COLD) spring day...

Pumba-- Sorry hear about Dazee. Hard to lose a pet. I tease Hannah all the time about Buddy , letting him out to run etc. but really don't know what I would do with out him.

It is cold, has been for a few days now with some snow flurries. Nothing sticking though. It better not because I just got my snow tires taken off this morning and brand new tires put on. Haven't changed the tires since I had the car , it was well over due.

Went to put something away in Nicholas room and couldn't stand the mess and dust anymore so I am busy doing that today. Just took a break for some lunch.

/
Oh nab...we went thru the MESS thing too with both the kids...I would shut their doors and they were not allowed to have company in THOSE ROOMS unless they were clean...took a few weeks for that to happen but it did...They would rather entertain in there ..then on the couch with the parents...ROFL..I laugh now..
Cold again today...but they said warming up for the weekend and next week..YIPPEE..high in the 50s will be my best friend...

Next week I start a couch to 5k with my friend...it should be interesting...I will be able to walk a 5K but the running part is going to be tough...I will try...

Hope you all have a great week..

morning ...and good week..where are you peeps..

Today is another raining yucky day...makes it very sad looking outside...but the snow is almost gone and the mud has dried up a little bit...

yesterday we bought a front door...oval glass for the door and two side lights ..it is pretty...I can hardly wait to see it...Of course it will probably be here when we go on vacation...but they said they will keep it at the store..

Saturday thru next week is the grand opening of the bike store...everyone is anxious for this big day...They have had plenty of business the last few weeks. Mostly people wanting their bike serviced...one bike was over 5000 bucks...I thought OMG ...that could be a couple of doors...rofl....My son in law is well known for his expertise in servicing the bikes ...So many people come to him for this...especially now and thruout the summer...and then when Patrick Dempsey challenge happens...I would love to see him this year...Maybe I will just do that..My friend has her photo taken with him every year...(be still my heart)...he gets scruffy looking during this time and OMG scruffy is good..hahaha

we are slowly getting our stuff ready for the visit to the house of the mouse...Our granddaughter is almost done her classes...She got hit by a rouge turkey last friday and it shattered her windshield...had to get a new one...it was completely gone...had to have it towed to the garage...a big mess ...but she handled it great..

daughter goes to work today for the first time in four weeks...she is being sent to the hospital kids pysch ward...Hope they take care of her ..cause she is still in the healing stage and on crutches still...cant put weight down yet...yikes...I worry..

have a good day friends

Raining here too Pumba. We have a snow warning in effect for over night into tomorrow though. I don't know if I want the freezing rain or the snow they say it could be either.

Of course I got my snow tires off , it is April after all. I do recall when I was younger having snow on Easter that fell in April. Remember having to clean off the car to go to church.

Not much happening here so haven't really posted. I have been on, reading the community boards but really not much going on there either. :rotfl:

Pumba-- your door sounds lovely. What colour is it? We have a 3/4 glass front door , it has a flower pattern on it. Love it lets a lot of light in a dark hallway.

yah snowshowers for our area and snow up north more...they can keep it..

One year I remember bringing the kids to Easter Sunday Mass and they had on snowsuits and I had on big boots too...no Easter Bonnets for them that year...hahaha..

We asked for the white door ..and then when it comes here...and our contractor puts it in...then we will paint it to match the shutters and the garage doors...They have a brick red color but it doesnt match..The oval glass has wrought iron going thru it...it is beautiful....The one we have now leaked during a major rain storm ...even the glass leaked..
We also got the vinyl door frame...no rotting here...ROFL..

Tonight is couch to 5k ..wish me luck...I know I can walk it ...we shall see about this running thing...
have a good day

Not all that much going on with me lately either. I haven't been on my laptop very often in the past few weeks, so I keep forgetting to check the Dis

Very nice birthday gift, Nabbie! :thumbsup2

Pumba - Good luck on your walking program! Also, that's great about the bike store opening up! I've been seeing your FB posts about it. I really have to get out on my bike this year. Didn't ride much last year due to my knee replacement. Hope my knee works better this year so I can ride my bike, but I'm thinking about having my other knee replaced in August around the time that they move our office to a new location in our building so I can avoid being in the office while the new carpet is off-gassing (to try to avoid asthma problems).

We have a family Disney trip scheduled for early November. I am booked at Bay Lake Tower, but DD wants to switch a couple days to Beach Club. My window to call to switch our last couple days of the trip opens up tomorrow. Wish me luck! I just figured out today that we will be there during the Food & Wine Marathon. No wonder it was so hard booking that weekend!!! I'm happy I was able to get something booked, because everything is full now.

Marita - I was so happy to see the news about your DD's house :) Must be very exciting for her. Your grandpuppy looks a LOT like mine!!!

morning..
Last night was an eye opener...we walked briskly for ten minutes and then ran for one ...and then briskly for ten and then ran for one ..and then stretched for five..and then do it again...I think they said we did two miles...but running and the hills are a killer..
hey it was only day one of this..I will try two times during the week and one day at the couch thingie and then for 9 weeks do this over and over...but one week I will be in Disney...so I can walk fast there too..

Snow is on the forecast for tonight...not much (poor mans manure)...but any snow is to much snow...YUCK..

Moo...do you have a place that has a non resident bike..or whatever they call it...daughter has to do this 45 minutes a day..but she cant put her foot down yet..so this just strengthens her knee muscle...four weeks from her surgery date already...she is anxious to walk..but I bet she will be off kilter for a bit..
She started working yesterday at the hospital psych unit for kiddos..so she is teaching there...plenty of nurses and behavioral techs with her..so plenty of staff...

we are in the 29 day mode...I am ready...READY FOR WARMTH..
have a good day

What a morning, I don't know if I am coming or going.

The weather man were predicting a freezing rain/snow warning. Buses were cancelled this morning. Not a flake or ice pellet to be seen yet. Anyway it is a big day here in Ontario. Grade 10's across the board right a literacy test , they must pass this test to graduation in Grade 12.

Called Nicholas in said he wasn't going to be there, he take town bus not school bus.So really he is suppose to be there since the school is open. They were told if they didn't write today they would have to wait a year to do it again until the Grade 10's write next year. Ok. Not good for the ones that failed it and going into grade 12 this year.

Are you still with me....well we were watching our morning news and they called the people in charge of doing the test. They said yes the test is still on for all that are at school that day. Ok quick get dress drive him to school don't want to wait the year plus he is really suppose to be there , he is considered a walker. Drop him off get home and Hannah says the test has been postphoned go pick up him up....:faint: Back to the school I go. I could have just left him there but had already called in but I know on days like this there is really no one there, that is why I leave him home.

Next Hannah no school bus no one at school either. She can stay home too. Decides to go anyway. :faint: hurray make her lunch and send her off hoping that at the end of the school day it is not icy and terrible out there to go get her.

Crazy morning and it isn't even 9:30 yet.

Pumba, I'm not sure what you mean by non-resident bike... After my first knee replacement, I started out using my recumbent bike and just did partial revolutions the first few times and used it to stretch out my muscles before I could pedal properly. It was a few weeks before I was allowed to pedal, but once I could, that was my warm-up activity before PT. I would normally warm up by riding 10 minutes.

Nabbie - Sounds like you had a heck of a morning! ;)

Nab, what a morning!

Pumba, it should be nice and HOT for you here in May, we are going up toward the 90's already:sad:

I am getting some money from an aunt in Germany, she passed away 1 1/2 years ago after many years with Altzheimers. There are 9 heirs in her will, and of course I am the only one in the US. I think I held them all up with all this international beaurocracy.

I have been in correspondence with the German lawyer for a year now. I do speak German, but not German legalese (well). Last month was a letter that I had to acknowledge the receipt of something, notarized by the German Consulate.
Don't know if I ever mentioned anything about this.
Well, the closest German Consulate is in Miami, 4 hours away one way!
Found out they have an honorary branch in Orlando that can notorize things on behalf of the consulate, but they only do it once a month. So I waited 2 weeks before the date to get that done. That was march 15.
Yesterday I got a letter that they need IBAN and BIC code for my bank, that they could NOT use the accounts and info I sent them before. Without IBAN and BIC (bolded and underlined) Nothing can be transferred!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So today I spent an hour on the internet searching and calling 3 different bank people, who all told me there is no IBAN. The last guy at an international number finally said that is a European thing.
They all said I need the SWITCH OR SWIPE or whatever else it is called number.
Sent a letter back to the lawyer. I may never see this money....... Or just send me a check!!! Or I'll come and get it!

I need HOT...I would love it...HONEST....its in the 30s today and sleet and freezing rain is upon us...and possibly changing to snow...I HATE WINTERS..

Moo..YOUR word was right...recumbent bike...with no pressure so she could just move her knee up and down ...she isnt allowed yet to put her weight on it yet...probably another two or three weeks they said at her last PT and doctors visit...she is anxious..They put two holes in her femur bone and another place they shaved the area bone...so any weight on her leg would make this process not work...they are hoping that it works for her...so no bone on bone ..yesterday was four weeks since her surgery...another two or three weeks would make it a long drawn out process..
Marita..
HOpe that you will at least get something out of this ...its horrible that all the lawyers and these other countries will make out and you are left with not a thing...but fingers crossed for you..

Freezing rain here too Pumba. Another snow day. Today is definitely worse then yesterday. Ice is pretty thick on the trees and cars.

Hannah went again though. She said is fun on these days, more of social day for them. They get to do things they wouldn't on a regular basis. They had a blast in the gym just doing what ever with the equipment instead of being told what to do.

Nicholas is at a sleep over so the house is quiet other then the rain outside. Lots have lost power too. Hope our stays on.

Marita-- what a hassel for something that is yours. Send a check and be done with it ...:rotfl:

Moo-- Hope you get your other knee done and can be pain free. Then you will be all set to go to WDW in Nov.

Howdy partners..

Today is overcast to begin with but they are promising SUN...to melt the crap that fell yesterday and last night...not to much but enough to make it mud season again..

Kids are going to NH to the outlet stores...told them to have fun...roads are not bad for traveling..

I will go down to the Bike store to celebrate the grand opening with them...I am excited for the future ..

last night discussed Disney with the kids and if they wanted to get a store stop with the Florida tour car van...we are to big for a limo so we will take the van...so they said yes...bottled water, small wines and beer and some snacks..should be cheaper then at the House of the mouse..

HOpe you all have a great weekend...I have to get ready for my sisters visit from NY...she is coming to spend a week with us...and visit the other siblings too of course...they are arriving monday ...Turkey dinner was planned for Monday but they dont know how bad the traffic will be or the roads thru the mts..so may have it on Tuesday instead..

Pumba--Wow you have a lot going on. Good call on the supermarket stop on the way to the hotel. We do this too.

Marita-- saw your face book post about Paul , what you mean you won't mortage the house for $4000. tickets. :rotfl2:

We are in for another rainy day but the cold temps are behind us the weatherman promises me, will believe it when I see it.

Nicholas is giving us a run for our money again. He is so trying to fit in and be cool with his friends but doing it the wrong way. All his friends are older too so that does not help. Trust is gone for sure, funny thing is he tells us so we know he has a conscience so why does he keep doing the same thing.:confused3 This is the third time. I see the red flags before though , hubby not so much. Stuff doesn't make sense or has holes in his stories. Last night when we said all his electronic stuff was gone and maybe he wouldn't be writing to get his license next month he said he doesn't care anymore.....I see this as a cry for help but not sure what to do next.
