everyone is getting new babies....Congratulations on your new addition to your home..I saw photos of your baby and i love it..

yesterday after freezing in Old Orchard Beach area waiting for our son and his wife to cross the finish line...hubby took the two munchkins in and I waited...put on my gloves and my hood to my coat and waited ...FINALLY our son came in ...he was number 72 out of 160ish people...Not bad for someone who just started running this past fall...and our daughter in law had to much clothes on she said and she came in at 98...She has been running for the last year...son's time was 28 minutes and our daughter in law was 33 minutes...so they did awesome...we had seafood after and we had a great time...
I was thinking I could walk run walk run in one this summer...maybe try it out...I know that I have walked with my neighbor longer then a 5k and did it in 45 minutes...so we shall see...need to regroup my legs and body I think..

kids in our area went back to school today..I am sure that there are a few families happy with this..hahaha..

Our granddaughter is at a pharmacy for her winter rotation and anxious to hear about it...she did a few hours on New Years Eve day...but it was rush rush rush because people were coming in for their meds so to have them for the New year...

Few more days left to our break, back to school for us all Monday.


I booked my flights for February! I am coming in a day early just to save 50.00. Now I have to actually figure out what to do with my extra day that won't cost me 50.00

I told him to just tell his room mates at his meetings that he will be sneaking me in, like in a college dorm. Then I will sneak out early in the morning and head over to Coronado and check us in and lounge by the pool.

I just need to figure out how to get from place to place. I think he's 10 minutes from WDW.

Has anyone heard of Mystic Dunes Resort?

Mony, I haven't heard of that resort, but based on the map on their website, it appears to be fairly close to Animal Kingdom! Cabs are pretty plentiful for your transfer, but a bit more expensive than I would have thought. I took a cab back to the Beach Club after dropping off a rental car over a year ago and ended up using most of the cash I had available at the time

Maybe because it was a town car taxi? I just got in the first one that was in line at the entrance of the hotel where I returned my rental car.

Well, turns out hubby had enough points to purchase my airfare. Found out after I bought my tix. So with that thinking he can get me a room near DTD. Really a day to myself?

Then the next morning I can take a bus to my resort.

How do the buses from DTD work? Do they go only to parks? Then catch a bus from a park to the resort?

I already practiced packing in my tote. They only allow one free small carry on that has to fit under my seat.

From DTD you can only go to your resort, they don't go to the parks. The only way to get to the parks from DTD would be to go to a resort then hop on another bus to the parks. So you will only have to go on one bus to the resort from DTD.

morning everyone.
We are still looking at airfare for May...nothing that flips our switch yet...probably will start to think serious about it this weekend or maybe next..
It seems to go up and up from two weeks ago...WHEN I SAID LETS DO IT..hahaha..

Not as cold today...yesterday was below zero for most of the night and day...I hate snow, cold and winters...

Hope you all have a great day...maybe I will be back in a few when the contractor finally comes and tells us about the door we have picked out and window and side windows...to much to remember about each one..

No discounts for our resort either...or the second choice resort for may either...oh well...we will see if any are for the AP rates...but we still like where we are going

We went in mid-February several years ago. It was cool in the morning, but very nice in the afternoons! We made use of the lockers. Keep an eye on the weather forecast before you go

Mony, no telling what the weather will be like. I could go any which way.

As I think most of you read on FB, my DD passed her teaching certificate today (YAY). She went the circuitous route, a degree in history and psychology, then worked at the Y for some years, then B&N, then got a teachers aide position not too long ago and took the test today. Don't ask me why, she always either wanted to teach or be a student counceler. Anyway. she is at least on her way now, she has been an aid and substituting at a gifted school, and they are supposed to add classes next school year when she can get her own class. So all, please keep fingers and toes crossed that it works out.

Nothing much else to report here, gray and dreary day today, I took the day off to do stuff and didnt feel like doing anything, which sadly has been my pattern lately. I better get my butt in gear tomorrow!

Marita-- That is great news about your daughter! Hope she gets a classroom too. Got to love teachers. I would not have the patience.

Mony-- We used to always go in Feb. It could be cool in the morning and nice all day like Moo said cool again at night. Or if you are like us it feels ok because we were use to the cold before we went and it was just balmy...

Not much to report here either. Kids go back to school on Monday. It will be hard since all of us have been staying up late and sleeping really late including me.

I spent roughly 7 hours today working on my E-portfolio with 2 other classmates of mine and you'd think I'd be done, this doesn't include the hours I've spent over the last three weeks either.

Oy! Something tells me I will be thoroughly enjoying my Trip to WDW. Once I get on that plane it will be completely with peace of mind.

I still have much to do, my Christmas decorations will be up until I get back from vacation at this rate.

Morning..
It was spitting a little snow this morning but i gave the outside world a hairy eyeball and it stopped...I am not a snow lover ..but you all knew that..hahaha..

Hubby made bacon and eggs and I did the toast and english muffins and coffee...the four of us had a good breakfast to start the day..
I put a bag of little pea beans in the pressure cooker with water and let it sit the rest of the day...then around four I will strain it and put in enough water to cover the beans ...then molasses, and an onion and dry mustard with some seasoning...then hot and sweet sausage...cook for an hour or so and it tastes like bean hole beans...delish...that with home made bread and a salad ...we will be good to go...was going to make that yesterday but we went to the chinese buffet...delish there too...

still looking for air fare ...I think it will probably be jet blue because we would save 100 on luggage and picking seats...you dont have to do that on jet blue..I am ready to go to Disney ...but 120 plus days will have to wait...but it is something to look forward to...

My mom is making us a nice ham dinner today.

She called me last night her credit card company blocked her card. The fraud department picked up on suspicious activity.

She went to the grocery store and made a purchase with her bank card and just a few hours earlier there were a bunch of purchases somewhere in Mexico.

She forgot to get something and stopped somewhere else and that is when she discovered the block. When she took her phone out to call them they had already left her a message to call them.

Now she has to submit a claim. They said people are getting numbers from gas pumps and store swippers with something they swipe after you.

Nothing is safe anymore.

I am glad that her bank notified her and put a stop on her cc...that is an on top company..

Mony-- Have fun!

It is a cold day to go back to school after having a few mild days with rain here. This year I have Hannah walking on her own to school so was so happy I didn't have to go out with her this morning. -9 C is pretty darn cold. Then we are suppose to be above 10 by the end of the week. Crazy.

Was going to go get my hair cut today but might wait for it to warm up. Toying with the idea of dying my hair. Everyone says they don't see much grey but I think they are being nice. I see it at my temples and a few strands mixed in my hair. , especially if you are in the right light. I just know once I start I will always have too and have no idea what shade even to get or go to a hairdresser to do it. Was asking Hannah in church is my hair that colour she just laughed and said all the choir women have a shade of red. She is right on that point.

Nabbie - I would highly recommend that you go to a salon to have your hair colored. They can help you figure out what color and product will work best! And if it doesn't come out quite how you'd like it, it is fairly easy for them to fix it. I know my stylist HATES having to try to fix botched home coloring.

I do a semi-permanent color that gradually fades so I don't have a sharp grow out line and it looks kind of like highlights as the color slowly lightens.
