I too agree a kong is the best thing available on the mkt..and it goes up in toughness according to the dog and the size of the dog.....My neighbors dog has the extreme tough one....and it FINALLY works...her dog is hyperactive.
Tell him to keep the crate training too.......especially while he is gone....is he in an area where he can put a big run outdoors for him or her...(cant remember the doggies sex)...and when he is outside he can go back and forth and run around ...of course until the snow falls...Our dogs were recyclers...we called them that because if there was paper or a newspaper or MAIL the dog thought it was hers...she would tear it to pieces.......so we called her the recycler..

Thanks, Moo, I sent it on to my son.

So my accomplishments on my off day today = NOTHING! sigh...........

There's always tomorrow, Marita!!!

I'm planning to go to a local art fair tomorrow and then drive to the beach in the afternoon. Hope the weather is nice.

There's always tomorrow, Marita!!!

{/QUOTE]

Old German proverb" Tomorrow, tomorrow, just not today say all the lazy people

This actully rhymes in German:
"Morgen, morgen, nur nicht heute sagen alle faule Leute"

Have fun at the beach!

Well I guess you can count me in as a lazy person Marita....everything can wait for tomorrow or the next day. I say that about cleaning , it isn't going anywhere with out me...

Just got back from getting Buddy. He did not want to come to us at all. He hid and ran away. We had to get all the doors shut and corner him in the bathroom. That was after we turned the couch upside down to get him out of there. Now he is at home hiding.

Moo-- hope you have good weather tomorrow. They are calling for rain and humid here.

And of course the garage guy that does the capping of the wood comes tomorrow. I have the other guy that installed it coming back on Tuesday. I think it needs to open more and I want touch up paint for a chip in the bottom it isn't noticable but don't want it to rust. This is a two car garage and we don't get our cars in either. To much junk.

/
and I thought that the two car garage would be the answer to our ...never mind....one truck and alot of STUFF>....big bench for hubbies stuff and tools and other stuff under the steps in a hide away thingie....

and then a hole in the top of the garage for MORE STUFF.......the previous owners left three beach chairs and other stuff......I havent been up there but hubby took a big ladder and looked..

I told him to go without me tomorrow so I can get stuff done here......and maybe sleep in too...but I doubt it.

My hubby's number one rule when we moved into our house was that we could NEVER store so much stuff in the garage that made it so we couldn't park our cars. It has worked!

I think it has really helped keep our cars in better shape not parking them outside.

Man it got really hot and humid again today.

Moo-- we have so much stuff it isn't funny. Then add a bike for everyone in there, a deep freeze and a weight bench there is no room left. Not to mention all the outside toys in there. I have a whole garbage bin full of different size playing balls.

We are going to have to put one of the freezers in the garage too.....the upright will go into a downstairs room...near the washroom..

Today I did a lot of pitch and toss ...I did the computer desk and the secretary, and two of my dump drawers in the kitchen,,and the closet in the kitchen....and the make up drawer.(which is funny) I buy it but dont use it.....I would like to use it but never have the time..But got a great deal accomplished..I also got the food processor in a box and George Foreman and books for those...I made two cardboard protectors so I wont get cut on the chopping devices..AND HUBBY came back here for supper and he announced that I can start to transport all the kitchen stuff here....the biggies...like the 6 quart crock pot, and the two big big big pots for clams and lobsters...and the family big pie thingie that was my great grandmothers.....so I can start to get it in the order I want..he is working NOW DOWNSTAIRS>..that would be the family room and voila...the computer room, and the bathroom...and then the wet room (where the freezer will go) and then that is it....YIPPEE..the family room and computer room are ready for the final paint...

and while I was taking a break this pm ..I rolled ten bucks in pennies...yah it was heavy :scared1:

OMGOODNESS.

I killed the thread...
today is Monday and it is AGAIN overcast.....and possibility of more rain........My poor son and dil and two munchkins are camping at the state park for the first time with both the kids.they are in TENTS...and it rained saturday night and then off and on sunday and more today and then somehow it will be nice tomorrow......when they pack up to go home....they are having fun even with the rain..
TOok the dog to the new house for a visit last night and she was so spazzed out thinking she was going to the kennel or the vet......she huffed and puffed and carried on bad....so we get to the new house and she inspects each and every corner of the main floor.........still huffing and puffing mind ya....then she goes to the downstairs and inspects each corner of that area.....the family room and the computer room and the bathroom and the "wetroom" and the wash room...THEN SHE is huffing and puffing still and omg she blew out lincoln logs on the carpet...cleaned it up and left and brought her home......we will have to take her to the house at least every day until we move in..and WE HAVENT washed that carpet yet....PHEWWWWWWWWW.

I guess I will take Ms Ava for a walk and go to dunkin donuts before it rains..I like to walk with her and she enjoys the walk too

have a good day my friends

Been a lazy few days, very humid out there. We were going to go to Wonderland but didn't get up early enough to make it worth while since it is over an hour away.

Pumba-- Hope the doggie gets used the new house.

Better get moving or we would have wasted a vacation day....Maybe we will go to Ikea today. The kids are asking for desks for there rooms but it would have be small ones. Rooms are not that big and Nicholas wants a new bigger bed so he might be out of luck.

I wish we had one of those stores near us...I see commercials about it but never got to see one..

I plan on taking that dang dog to the house each night so she can start to calm down......Maybe if some of "her" stuff was there and she could smell it ...may be the answer....but plan on visiitn it again tonight...

We are in the midst of a storm.....It is pitch *** black out....and the dog is roaming....she can smell a storm coming.
The humidity was so bad when Ava and I went for a walk....it was like dripping off us......but I did get a donut......HAHAHA.....I had a hankering for a honey dip donut and I got one and then some munchkins for Ava...

Does Nick have a computer in his room for homework and stuff??? If that is the case then he needs the smaller bed and a desk to accommodate it all....Unless they put their desks in a different room.....

SOOOOOO how goes the day for others....:surfweb:

Pumba-- we had high humidity the last two days. Almost unbearable yesterday at church.

Who knew we could spend the whole day at Ikea.. We found a nice small desk and chair for Hannah's room and then they ended up out of stock until tomorrow. We did come home with a cutting board that was on sale. Need to measure Nicholas room again to see what will fit.

We got a down pour yesterday so our baseball game was rained out. Beautiful today. Calling for rain again tomorrow when we play ball again. Never going to get our play off games done at this rate.

Pumba, good luck with the dog!

Nichole is on her way today and for the next 4 days. I forgot if I said that. I''ll be a nervous wreck...

Also, the kids (4 of them) decided to go hiking in Glacier Nat'l park on Saturday on a 12 mile hike. They thought it was an easy stroll, but it turned out to be a very dangerous expert treck that took them hours and they were freaking out at the steep drops. They were trying to reach a spot where a shuttle would take them back. Well, after hours, they ran into some people who told them the last shuttle was leaving at 6:15. It was about 5pm by then and they still had 5 miles to go. No way they could make that hiking. So they decided Chris would run. So he did, he ran for 5 miles and got to a fork without signs and had to guess where to go. He barely made it on the shuttle. So, he made it back, got the car, and drove back to meet the others who didnt even make it there til 7:30. They didnt have enough food or drink even. Anyway, they made it home safe by 11:30 that night, but were very sore and sunburned the next day.
Alll this happened after the day it was reported a Grizzle attacked a man in that very area. And now DD is driving cross -country for 2,500 miles.
You just never ever stop worrying about the kids.

In other news (non-news?), Khaki's surprise wedding lunch is scheduled for tomorrow, and she called in today, apparently a bad sinus infection that required a CT scan and x-ray plus boss' schedule just got squeezed, so we shall see if that happens........ If not tomorrow, it will have to wait till after her wedding

Pumba - You should look into getting one of those Thundershirts for your dog -- they really seem to help with anxiety! Hope things improve soon :goodvibes

Marita - Yikes! I would be a nervous wreck  Glad your son was in god shape and able to make it back!!! Hope Khaki is OK for her wedding festivities :)

Nabbie - I could spend hours at the Ikea store . . . good thing we don't have one very close to us, LOL!

I just had a relaxing day at home Sunday after going to a craft show and running the roads with my sister and niece on Saturday. We got my niece outfitted with some school clothes as her birthday present :thumbsup2 She found some really cute tops at Old Navy. I didn't buy much at the craft show, but it was fun looking. Glad we left when we did and went to get some lunch because the sky opened up and it poured a while after we left -- I felt sorry for the crafters. Some of my coworkers who I went with got drenched walking back to their cars :( We had been hoping to go to the beach Saturday, but the weather just did not cooperate.

Marita-- Glad the kids are ok, that is pretty scary. I read a book about the Grand Canyon hikers and they thought was easy but weren't prepared either.

It funny because I tell hubby that I will probably not move back to my home town after he retires because I would stay here with the kids. He just tells me how are you so sure they will stay here and together. Then what will I do.... I am a worry wart. Even if hubby is late coming home in the morning.

Moo-- do you have a flight for Jan. yet? They are so expense and driving would abe okay to get there but not to get back. Hubby is looking into it a bit and travel arrangement to get the port. Everything is expensive.

The vets office told us about that Thunderjacket thingie for the dog....We may look into this week..

I AM SOOOOOOO SORE......just lets say we didnt take the dog to the house last night.....we went to a furniture store to get a bed and mattress set...I fell ..not once but three times ...the other two were because I was trying to get up and fell two and third time......yah hubby yells ...quick get up before someone sees you.ROFL...I AM SORE..

Marita..I know you will worry......I would too....cause that is what we do best...being a mama bear and worrying about our cubs...even at 41 years old I worry about my oldest cub...and my dear 39 year old ...I worry about her too..

have a great day...BUT I AM SORE...hahaha:eek:

Pumba-- Ouch....on falling. I hate picking out mattresses for beds but the furniture is fun to shop for.

It has been raining off and on all morning. The garage door guy is coming back today to do an adjustment and look at a mark on the door. I just asked for touch up paint but they want to see it. It rained all day when he put it in too.

Guess it the rain keeps up the ball game tonight will get rained out again. Now we are behind two games.
