Hello, everyone.
I'm looking for prayers if y'all can spare them. My town was thrown for a loop earlier this week by a horrible accident. A woman who is very well-known for being an avid walker/bike rider was out for her daily walk earlier this week. Less than a mile from her house, she was struck by a car and killed on Main Street. She was 51. The driver of the car was a 43 y.o. man whose driving was impaired by prescription medications. Those meds were prescribed for him after he lost his 21-month old son to cancer recently. The whole town has been affected, since the woman was the sort of person who was very gregarious, always stopping to chat with people she met while walking. I didn't know her well, but it's really such a horrible situation. She had called her husband shortly before the accident to ask him to start lunch for them both, and she told him she was about 10 minutes away from the house. When she didn't show up within that time frame, he went out looking for her and happened upon the accident scene. By that point, the state and town police were there, along with an ambulance, and the whole street was blocked off. I can't imagine how awful that was for him. So sad!
The whole incident has made me very appreciative of my own lot in life. No matter what small matters are affecting my day-to-day life, I'm so very thankful to NOT be dealing with the sorts of tragedy either of these families is living through right now.
MommyP, I never heard of Monavie or TEAM until your post. But I'm surprised any church would allow such behavior. Church is really the last place anyone should feel pressured to buy into a "business venture". Ugh. And Cel, I was thinking the same thing about the moneychangers.
Did I tell y'all the story about the mom who approached me at one of my Girl Scout meetings last year to have an Athena home party?
Once I found out what sort of company Athena is, I almost keeled over. Not only did this lady, whom I hardly know, approach me at a Girl Scout meeting, but it was being held inside a church! Eeeeesh!
Oh, and on a brighter note, I had an interview on Thursday for a job that sounds like it would be perfect for me. If y'all have any spare pixie dust, I'd love some!
