Happy 4th of July to my friends....

Back home but not to my regular schedule

Hubby is now on vacation so I don't get as much done around the house. Since he was on that program for a long time he collected a lot of holiday time and he decide to take it all at once. So he is off until the middle of Aug.

We are having a heat wave here too. The poor air conditioning is going to get a run for it's money that is for sure. My nephew is getting married on Saturday so I hope it cools down by then.

Guess I will go see what is on the agenda today.

Hope everyone enjoys there day off today. Stay cool and safe.

Wow, Nabbie! That's a long time for your hubby to be off work!!! Will you be camping/traveling soon?

It was pretty hot here today so I went to the library to pick up some books, then went to see Eclipse in a freezing cold theater. It finally cooled off enough this evening for me to ride my bike a little. Should've gone to the beach today but I didn't feel like making that long of a drive, especially with all the holiday traffic I would have encountered on the drive home.

Moo-- I know it is a long time. He wants to go take the trailer to California and go to Disneyland. We need all that time to do this. We may have to shorten it a bit because we have to wait around for the wedding then there is ball that gets in the way this year. Kids are pretty excited about it.

It is not cooling down here at all. It was so hot at the ball game they called it early. The poor kids were pretty red in the face by the end.

Off to bed....even though I can sleep in I still wake up at the same time every morning. It is nice to know I don't have to get up though.

Stay cool everyone .....last week we were freezing and had below temps. :confused3

Tim said his car thermometer was reading 99/100 while driving today. Me and the girls are sleeping on the main floor. The upstairs doesn't get cool at all.

Just as hot tomorrow. Some nasty looking clouds went by earlier, but that is all. The grass could use some rain.

Did a hole bunch of nothing today. Can I get a re-do?

Yep that is a new ticker. lol Just taking the kids down for a quick trip. A last minute thing.

We are staying at CBR in a pirate: room. Can't wait.

morning everyone..

Hubby went back to work this morning and I am off all week.....NO RUG RATS ...But I will miss my sweet Ava. I got her a Snow White doll for her birthday. It is cute and she loved Megans' when she was visiting us ...

Yesterday I was in and out of the back yard....stood up in the pool and just stood there......it was hot and humid and just not worth being outside.....so came in and vegged inside too......

Hubby is planning to do the front steps but couldnt get the cement order that he needed......He would like to get those done before (and if) we put the house on the mkt this year or next year.....The city plow trucks have a habit of taking out those steps and our posts.....but we wont care in another year..

Have a good day my friends

Still having a heat wave here so we spent the day in the mall. Trying to find my niece a birthday gift. Didn't get one yet.

Hannah is at a sleep over and Hubby and Nicholas went to the Karate Kid. I would have went with them but Hannah was swimming at the time, the sleep over was a last minute thing.

Pumba-- your house must be pretty close to the road for a snowplow to hit them :scared1:

Moo-- hope this trip happens for the kids , they are pretty excited about it but do realize we have to figure it out time and money wise.

Babynurse-- :woohoo:on the quick trip for the kids. I saw that free dining had been extended into Dec.

Free dining sounds so much better in december doesn't it?

Hot Hot Hot over here, we had a nice family friendly water fight yesterday.

I think I still have some water in my ears.

After work, get to go relax in a friends pool. I can't wait to have one of those. Once the whole day care thing is over I WILL.

Try to stay cool.:cool2:

we have street snow plows and sidewalk snow plows........its sort of like a roto going round and round and it throws it onto the snow banking otherwise we would have four or so foot snow drifts in front of our steps.

We will be going to yet another funeral on Friday. An old family friend passed away on July 4th...their anniversary....he was only 54 but now is at peace with the pain ...It is hard for sure...

not doing much today ...yesterday cleaned out the china closet and all the shelves and dusted all the STUFF in it....I love that STUFF.....especially the Roseville Pottery that belonged to my grand mother and my MIL.....some old tea sets.....sugar creamer, tea pot an cups and saucers....they are so fragile and adorable....I also collect sugar and creamers....I have one that is in the shape of a moose...a cow....and kitty cats......oh one of my favorites is rooster sugar and creamer with the salt and pepper on top........very unique......love them....and Nippon bowls and other stuff...
SO you can tell that cleaning it yesterday was an all day affair.

Have a good hot one my friends

Pumba -- duh, that makes sense now. I was thinking boy I wouldn't want to walk out your door on to the street.

I like stuff too. I have a china cabinet full of Cherished Bears and the kids got silver plates and cups that at in there too plus are wedding topper and knife/server set. I had to get the silver polish out in the spring for those silver things.

Mony-- sounds like your staying cool. The kids would so love a pool in the back yard.

Yes it is another hot day here....and we have a baseball game tonight again.

Just checking in, still alive. Barely!

I want to retire and plant a garden. No matter that I dont eat veggies or go outside in the heat, LOL!
Or better yet, move to a retirement community, but that wont be in the cards for a while.

Got to go swimming yesterday, but a storm chased us out of the pool early. Figures.

AAA.com is a great tool to plan your driving trips. You can print out a trip tix, and add any special points of interest you want. Gas, lodging, and restaurants. Plus, the links allow you to go to said hotels and book your stays. So convenient. Just thought I'd share, or point out how out of the loop I am.

Still schorching hot out! (my electric bill is NOT going to be pretty)

Mony - At least it was a tad cooler today temperature-wise today. If only the humidity hadn't gone sky high!

Marita - You really sound ready to retire

I finally got to see the photos from my friend's Disney trip today. Looks like they had a great time and they want to go back. I knew three days was not going to be long enough!

Pumba - I have some of my MIL's Roseville pottery too! And a bunch of Depression glass and other pretty things she and my Grandma gave me.

Nabbie - Keep us posted on your DL trip planning!!! Wish I were going back sometime soonish. Just have to settle for some trips up north this summer. Heading up to Mackinac just for one night this weekend and the Traverse City area for a couple days next month.

bbn and Lynette - Are you going to have some days that overlap at WDW??! pirate:

Morning world...
Woke up with my shoulder hurting and my back heating up...I think that I got a bit to much sun yesterday.....the overcast clouds sort of made me not think of the sun burning thru too.....the sun came out around noonish and the rest is on me ...beautiful day at the beach though......the rug rats had so much fun in the water....

I hate to think that it is Friday already and my week off is almost over....Oh well back to Ms. Ava..

Moo......what are the numbers on the bottom of your Pottery...I have a book that tells you about it and when it was made....
I have a pair of carnival glass vases that sit on top of the china closet ....they are next to my 102 year old Tonquin clock fron NY Ansonia....it is beautiful...I love this stuff...

OH have to go and see what Lady GaGa has on.....

Hi Moovers!

Just TWO more sleeps until WDW!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I've packed the kids' stuff, and I shipped a box of stuff down earlier in the week. Now I just have to throw all my stuff into a suitcase and BOOM -- off we go!

Moo, yes the BBN family and the Lalijack family will be at the World for a few of the same days! Very exciting...we'll be having dinner later in the week...think the World is ready for that? Also, my family will be meeting up a few times with Peej. My kids adore her, so they're very excited!

I am trying to get through my last few hours of work before vacation....drag, drag, DRAG! I have a to-do list in my phone that keeps growing and growing as I sit here! Total pre-vacation spaz attack!

BBN and LG: Duh! Why didn't I put two and two together. Have fun in WDW together you two. Marita let us know if there's a sonic boom or the like when those two worlds come together. :rotfl:

MOO: Cooler? For Reals? uh uh, we had heat advisories all day yesterday. Today, it felt cooler out, I'm just afraid to turn the air off. We did that two nights ago and I just sweated all night from the humidity.

We have 42 more sleeps until we hit the road for our trip. We check in to Pop two days after that. We are stopping in Chattanoogo TN for a night, then staying a night at I think, Celebrity resorts just outside of WDW. After we check out of Pop, we will spend a night at the Double Tree Guest Resorts in Down Town Disney. Tim has frequent flyer miles that will allow us to stay at all these other places by just redeeming miles. Should be fun.

Tim took Zack to a Tiger's Training Camp put on by the DMC, I registered him right on time, it was free and they filled up quick. The neighbor's call an hour after we did and it was already full. So they are in Comerica park with some players and trainers, they get a freee lunch afterward too. The whole thing was free. He had his clothes laid out the night before.

So I decided to walk/run on the tread mill this morning. I just need to keep motivated. That is my biggest downfall. I plan to get on the tread mill later tonight too. 35 minutes each time. I'm 39, the heaviest I've ever been in my life, what is wrong with me? When I wanted to in the past I was able to lose weight, any amount, I don't know why I lack the ambition now? Hope my head is in it this time. Keep pushing me guys.

Have a great day!

Mony, I'm guessing that if the city of Boston survived our dinner meet, then MAYBE the World can handle the meeting of our families. Maybe. :rotfl:

With regard to your "lack" of motivation...don't be so hard on yourself! Between your own children, your daycare peeps, keeping the house running, and going to school, it's a wonder you haven't self-destructed yet! Jeez!

Awesome, Lynette! I figured there would be some Peej time in there :) Hope to hear some details and see some pics when you and bbn are back!!!

Mony - It was definitely cooler over my way yesterday, especially after the rain. Although the humidity was up there. It wasn't bad at all today. Fingers crossed for decent weather up north this weekend :goodvibes

As far as the weight loss goes, I've told a lot of people how sold I am on eating low carb/high protein. It is pretty hard to maintain that sort of a diet long-term though. I've added in more carbs lately and I'm no longer losing, but I am maintaining. I decided to give my body a bit of a rest this summer before doing some pretty strict eating starting at the end of the summer. Partly because I can't afford to buy any more new clothes until then

You might also want to consider some weight training a couple times a week. Check this out: http://livefitrevolution.com/ If I haven't mentioned it before, I LOVE working out with kettlebells! I started out doing Alysia Gadson's videos and am going to a class at a local gym now. This stuff really works and it's easy to do at home on your own if you can afford a couple kettlebells.

Pumba - I'll drag out some of my Roseville stuff on Sunday when we're back from our weekend trip :thumbsup2

Best Wishes for a fantastic BIRTHDAY to our Friend MARITA.
