Hi Moovers,

I may or may not be back among the living...

After a "fun" forecast (again), today was supposed to be an easy day, transition meeting with new and old, followed by happy hour for my partner.

Instead it was mayhem all day, requests from director that took all day.
I finally made it to happy hour at 6:30.

Then at 11:30 tonight, I logged into work email to post a quick calendar entry and found a question from the director, posted at 11:10 pm!!!
So I just spent 45 minutes finding answers, answering, quadrouple checking everything!

Don't trust spell check? Do it 3 times and read it over, it may be fine in spell check but not make grammatical sense...

UGHHH!!! Sure hope tomorrow is better.

Marita........that is to late to be doing work....I hope that they let you sleep in this morning ...

Last night hubby and I packed quietly and tried to hide it from Megara.....someone once said that animals dont know that you are going.....WELL WRONG....she smells our vacation if we even say Disney...hahaha...I woke up at five am and said I didnt have to set the alarm clock ....I dont have to get up .....but yet I am up.....tried to clean up some of the leftovers in the fridge......get them in the trash or down the pig......

Hope I can remember everything......forgot about my list ......as long as I have plenty of shirts, and skivvies and other stuff I guess I will be okey....

marita .??? How is your doggie doing......hope that you are okey too

Pumba, when are you leaving?

Doggie is doing much better, thanks, I guess he will be with us for a while longer.

I agree midnight is way too late to work, but that was not my intent. I was just going to put reminder on my calendar.

This morning wasnt too much better at work, still more questions from director, luckily easy ones (for me, another hotel wasn't so lucky). Cleaned up the work area for my new assistant this afternoon and left at 4:35. Got home and logged back into work at 6:15 or so, only to find yet another question from the director, UGG! Just missed it before I left. I have to watch my work hours on the job. but heck, I already had 49 hours in. Anyway, got it answered.

Moo, shopping sounds like fun! When are you leaving?

Other than that, all I have to say, TGIF!!!!!

Pumba--- Safe travels !! Hope the weather is fabulous for you.

Marita -- sounds like you are pretty busy at work again. Hope you take some time off on Mother's Day.

It is really pouring with lightening right now. I probably shouldn't even be on here.

Spent the night shopping for two birthday parties for Hannah's school friends. One is tomorrow and one is next Friday.

Nicholas turns 13 tomorrow too!! Even though it seems like I had the "teen" attiude in the house for awhile.

Nab, sounds like Pumba is leaving tomorrow.

Good luck with Nicholas, I'm sure he will turn out ok (you might get some gray hairs maybe? I recommend Nice 'N Easy Root touchup, quick and easy.

Dont have plans for mothers day so far. No plans to work either.

Hubby and DD are going to Davy Jones concert at Epcot tomorrow. I asked if I could come, but the response was "No, this is my and Nicole's thing for the last 3 years" OK FINE!! I'll stay home and go grocery shopping or something.....

Folding laundry right now, fun stuff!!!

Pumba - Hope we didn't miss wishing you well on your trip! Our dogs also get pouty when they see suitcases

Marita - Bummer on all that work stuff! Hope you can enjoy your weekend and get to do something good for Mother's Day. I can relate to the daddy/daughter time, but I don't mind when Don and Mari do stuff together because I usually get some separate time with her too.

We're not leaving for vacation for three more weeks. I can't wait!!!

Nabbie - We had a lot of rain here today too. Early happy birthday to Nicholas! :cake:

just had a fabulous thought. $10 haircut at the hotel (woth discount).
I swear I never saw a person walk in or out of there.

On second thought, maybe that isnt such a fabuolous idea......

well, i must be rusty. my post was killed. sad.

pick up the pieces, by awb. [average white band ]. remember them?

well backie, i know what your talking about. we have those type
of days, all the time. :flower3:

nabby? so true, your insights. oh, what makes new knowledge
effective, is remembering what one learns, also apply to one
self. [fyi, what i lecture here, is what i use in my day to day
routines.] i have no ego to bruise. along time ago, my life was
changed. that's life. however, nabby~girl , one very important
lesson i have seen repeat time after time, having one of your
"choices" producing negative result @ the moment does not mean
it doesn't change later into something very positive. & that's
one of my favorite coping skills, don't give up if your heart is
in your feelings.

here's my favorite example, my uncle was in the navy & @ pearl
harbor, dec. 7th. later he was also on the "indy". the ship that
delivered the a-bomb. during an encounter , he had the top of his
head blown off. you wouldn't think this would have any positive outcome?
it took him off the ship, and it was soon sunk. and the majority of
the sailors were attacked by sharks.

keep moving forward...was my motto long before meet the robinson.
one of my teaching tool is reminding others, progress in human beings
is common to be a " back & forth" process.

some of the posters on the dvc site are full of it. moo? it isn't a concern
for me, as i am well experienced from my work. in reality, they are
amateurs to what i see every day. what i am looking for are the trends
especially those repeating themselves. backie? i am shocked what
dvc management is over looking. :confused3. read "does anyone
have a good guide?" it showed how many are all over the grade scale.
from outstanding but also very, very poor. & very inconsistent. very.

though it wasn't in the game plan, i am learning alot about dvc operations.
like i told our new guide...."we will see". [ some of the manipulation that is
tolerated is why i think many are left unhappy but what is worst is how
is the lack of corrective measures. ] * one example is the dave'
club sponser. it is very clear against the rules & i am not sure that he
also a dvc employer "working" on the side. what is disturbing, the
ways he is conducting his business also makes it very easy for disney
to "fixed" & they do not. needless to say, i am sure member services
are getting frustrated with me pointing this out. however, just this
past week, a cm was arrested for fleescing cc numbers. not surprising.
someone also saw another owner sneaking their dog in. and i can't
tell how many are sneaking in to misused blt grounds. see? there
problems all over the place & why i don't have very much confidence
that dvc is worth it.

have i mentioned my brother in tucson, az.? he used to be an az. ranger?
never marry, so he has all kinds of toys. like sports cars, jeeps &
truck, antiques all over his house. oh, he was once on the titian II
missile combat crew. yes he held one set of keys. kinda make you
nervous? well if you knew him, or saw the home movies, "you would
be"!, :yoda:

:lmao:, really you would be scared , :scared1:

hey my wife went over to qvc, & met the designer of her old barbie dolls,
....mackie guy. bot she is living the high life..first a cake~man & now
a designer to hide the "icing".

* kinda a good thing....my lil'sweetie doesn't read here? :hippie:

& for my uncle, us kids used to have fun sticking magnets on top
of his head, :hyper:

of his head

LilG: That made me laugh.

Have a safe trip Pumba!

Moo/Nab: It rained with thunder and lightning ALL day yesterday. Today looks like a continuation.

Happy Birthday Nick!

Lots to do today, Chiro for Matt and Me, Dance for the girls, then off to Yale for my future BIL's 50th. I think he'll always be my future BIL.

Have a great day!

Lil G, head blown off is better than eaten by sharks :rotfl:I think that is taking positive outlook a bit far, but you sure have a point!

Which DVC board are you reading? I'm curious.

I went to bed at 1am last night, and woke up to a blaring radio at 6:30. Instead of going back to bed, I got up and read the paper, and here I am. I didnt even set the alarm! Why is it I hear it on a Saturday but not when I have to go to work???????????

Probably not the best idea I ever had  I'm going to be really messed up later.

Have a great Saturday, everyone.

It is raining here still. Baseball practice was cancelled but Hannah has a birthday party at the Toronto Zoo she is going to get wet walking to the pavillians. But she is a kid so she will love it.

Marita-- you can catch a nap later. 6:30 is way to early for a Saturday.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Nicholas. He is pretty excited that he is 13. I asked him what he wanted cake or cookie , he said ice cream cake from DQ. That is fine with me no baking today. Besides we will have alot of cake next weekend with Confirmation and Hannah's birthday. She wants a Jonas cake. He is happy with his presents too. We got hm a book to the series he is reading and Iron Maiden Tickets. I for one am not going to that concert with them....

Well my work is never done....have to a least get this started. :laundy: After we drop Hannah off at noon I think it will be a movie and dinner for the birthday boy.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Very quiet day here yesterday. Hope that means you were all relaxing enjoying your Saturday.

Nicholas said he had a great birthday. He had us all to himself since Hannah was gone all day at a birthday party. I think he liked that the best. Went to see Death at a Funeral. It was really funny. Then went to Montana's to put the moose ears on. We measured him yesterday and he grow three inches from last year. Heck when he started school this year he was 5'8 and now he is 5'10 and an 8th. He has to tell everyone about the 1/8 of an inch.

Now we are off to church and brunch.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hope all the Moms out there are having a wonderful day!

My hubby took me out to dinner last night to avoid some of the crowds. We went to my cousin's restaurant since we hadn't been there for a while. It was our first meal out since the no smoking in restaurants rule took effect (last weekend). It was heavenly to be able to eat without smoke in the air. Don also gave me a couple of funny cards (one from him and another from the "puppies") and a battery power pack for my cell phone because my dang phone discharges so fast. Pretty thoughtful this year. I'm looking forward to a phone call from Mari later today.

Now, if only it would warm up again!!!

Nabbie - It sounds like Nicholas had a nice birthday! Enjoy your brunch :)

Happy Mother's Day, Moovers!

Just wanted to pop in and tell you that I'm thinking of y'all today! I hope you each had the kind of relaxing, peaceful day that I had. I even spoke to my grandma today. She's sounding strong and healthy and happy....such a blessing!

I have nothing extraordinary to report. Just a heya!

Carry on!

just want to pop in & wish all the great mothers here a

"dream come true mother's day" :thumbsup2

my hunting buddy called, & he told me a sad story about our
lack of law enforcement. a farmer, we know, has a son that being
having trouble over a bully. this bully was relocated in from another
school ,{ per the father}. he recently "jumped" his son where
he required emergency care. the school only gave him 3 days suspension.
he telling us, the legal sources are refusing to get involved.

i think i would go to children services. however, betcha, they will
eventually see this bully in the future.

crazy stuff i didn't realized i collected during our disney trips. napkins.
it's funny, as i never really realized, the graphics changed thru the trips.

has anyone collected stuff?

well, we going to try for the dvc members' cruise also. i see mony
doing pop's. the last time we were there was 2004. wow, that seem
like a long time ago. my wife started collecting pins @ the different
resorts we stayed since 99.

...when i read your feedback backie, it seem unbelievable. but i know
it is factual.. i think as long as you are willing to
participate, then recovery from any problem is possible. back in 2001
when my fil was dx. with ca of the pancreas, did not expect a good
outcome. yet, here we are in 2110 & he doing quite well.

i have a strong affinity for "old~fashioned" [ teachings passed on
by my elders on my paper route & family ]. why ? because they
worked well toward finding my successes.

ha! carry on? something i am pretty good @.

i don't care what others may say, there's something to "good company".

Morning! I hope all the moms had a happy mother's day.

There was a fire by my sisters yesterday, wow! Watched 4 volunteer twnshps pull together to put it out. Sis and I went to see if we could help, she's a nurse, I'm trained CPR/1st aid. Luckily no one hurt, but it was crazy! She lives out in Yale, kinda countryish.

Have a blessed day!

Well one birthday down, Mother's day done.

Now on to the next thing. Nicholas Confirmation on Sunday.

Busy cleaning my house. Still waiting to see how many are coming. I live two hours away from everyone , to some it they think it is across the country. :lmao: Haven't had then here since Hannah's First Holy Communion two years ago. Some haven't been here since Hannah was born , that will be ten years next Tuesday.

Two baseball practices tonight and tomorrow too.

Marita-- how is the weather there for Pumba, no snow I hope. We saw snow the other night. Still cold today but the sun is shining.

Off to get the kids from school.

Nab, what about eating bon-bons on the couch? You need to get your priorities straight! ;)

Weather here is hot, but a bit better than last week, 88 or so, but back to 90's by Wednesday. I heard it is supposed to be a HOT summer, ugghh!

Mony, fires are scary! Glad nobody got hurt.

Same old here today. New assistant starts tomorrow

I am planning on taking Friday off, YAY! Unfortunately, Memorial Day this year falls on a forecast week, so I will have to work that day, plus assistant has to cover her old place too, there is nobody left at the Lodge! Even if they hire somebody by then, they will be clueless, so that is going to be fun, NOT!

Anyone see Betty White on SNL? She was funny.

Well, off to do a bit more work and then get some dinner.

Back.

We had the sickness.

Chad was sick, I was sick, Seth was sick. Different days, hence part of my absence. :o)

Went to the beach for our first time in 2010 on Saturday. It couldn't have been a nicer day. So pretty.

For Mother's day we went to my Mom's after church and my brother, Chad and bro-in-law cooked and cleaned up dinner. I didn't even have to make kids plates or wipe faces. All we Moms had to do was lay out, swim and eat. So nice!

Last week I helped my sister sew a dress for Mercedes. I also made one for Ellie. My sister went OVERBOARD buying fabric for bonnets, so Twinkie is in luck. I will try and get to work this week. :o) Today I made Ellie a dress and bloomers. Wanna see?

I am quite proud of it. My best yet.

AC checked out okay. Woot!

Only 16 days until our trip! I am SOOOOOOOOOO flipping excited!

But I haven't begun to make Ellie's Minnie dress. I think I want to go for pink polka dots instead of red because I don't really like Ellie in red. But Joann's didn't have the pink I was looking for, only a light pink or fushia. Ick. So I might have to go red. I think I will do it in the style of the new dress(above) and add a minnie pocket to the front.

MP, yuck on the sickness, yay for beach!

You can't make a Minnie dress other than with red dots, otherwise it is NOT a Minnie dress, duh!

I think you quite possibly have the cutest dressed baby girl evah!
But do you even know what she looks like without the hat, LOL?

Dang, I leaned back on the couch sitting up at around 9 something and woke up near 11. Hate it when that happens, no I'll be up half the night again.

After I posted earlier that I can't take Memorial day off, I decided to put in for the Friday before. Last chance before long budget season this summer.
