today is TUESDAY MARCH 2...

My friend that passed away last week, was buried on Saturday Morning and her mom passed away Saturday pm. The family took turns being with her so she would not be alone. So tonight is the wake. I have many fond memories of her and her husband and grannie NELLIE....Nellie scared the you know what out of us.....the husband and Nellie were from England and he was in the Royal Navy when he met his wife. Such good people, all of them.

Today the back yard is free from snow and anything else.....just a stray poop that hubby can get when he comes home. He is the scooper.....hahaha..

I hope that you are all fine and will see you later today

Pumba-- That is really sad. Was the mother ill?

We have been nice mild weather mild too. It is suppose to really get nice by the weekend. Funny part is my mom that is 2 hours or so way is getting snow this morning and they have snow banks we have grass.

Well withdraws from the Olympics isn't to bad yet. They showed on the news all the atheletes going home. The Vancouver airport was crazy. One gold medalist said it was so sad because he said he knows this is his last one and he doesn't want it to end. Back to real life for many.

Now I will have to settle in for my night shows , Idol and Biggest Loser. I wish these two were not on at the same time.

Off to clean my house some more, that is what I pretty well did yesterday until I dropped. Not good to neglect your house for two weeks when you have two kids, a cat and a husband.

bbn - Hope you were watching the closing ceremony and got to see Michael Buble sing! I liked it when they ripped the Mountie uniform off of him :lmao:

I liked that too.:lovestruc

Hi everybody. Life has been perfectly crazy here. My mom is doing well with her treatments. She's such a tough cookie.

We are still up to our eyeballs in basketball. Sectional this week, and then it will slow down for a week or two and we head right into baseball. Actually Caleb has already started practicing with the JV team.

Waiting on spring. Can't wait for warmer weather.

Sorry for my extended absences. IRL gets in the way sometimes.

As always, I wish you well.

Nab, My friends mama was very ill and in her late 80's. We had a nice visit with my friends sisters that I grew up with too. We remembered the fun we had when we were all young mothers and lived close to each other. Every Wednesday we would go to one of the houses and bring the kiddos and have lunch....Then everyone would scatter and go home and give the kids their naps. We had some fun times.....The main dish was english muffins toasted and then tuna with chopped hard boiled eggs in it and then put it on the muffin half and put a piece of cheese and a sliced tomato and then broil it for a few ....it was so good back then but the thought of it now is GROSS...hahaha.

I am going to watch some tv tonight or read some of the LOST SYMBOL....I started to read it but other things got in the way....
Have a good evening my cyber friends.

Hi all, just a quick check-in. Another forecast week, so busy at work.

Cool today, with wind gusts at 47 MPH. Almost got blown away on the way to my car! Down to the 50's again tomorrow, what's up with that? :confused3 We are supposed to be in the 70's now.

OK, Im tired, later...

Marita -- I could just see you blowing away ,your such a little thing. :lmao:

Babynurse-- Nothing wrong with enjoying life. Our baseball doesn't start until May-June. Do they practice indoors?

Moo-- Did you watch BL? Darrel was doing so well at home. That blue team is stacked for winning that is for sure. I wish they would have sent home Lance, but they did have a point they need him for challenges. The girls will never keep up to those boys.

Still nice weather here, sun is shining too. Hannah wanted me to let her wear her spring coat this morning but it is still cool in the morning for that. Then she wanted to wear her boots because her running shoes look funny with her puffy winter coat. :confused3 We have no snow. Finally got her to wear the running shoes. Here it goes with child number two. At least she wanted to wear "a" coat unlike the kids that wears sweaters and is never cold. :sad2:

Morning everyone...

Nab, my daughter who just turned 38 last Saturday, joined a hockey league. My baby....can you believe that. She got her cousin (my niece) to join too. So here are all these ladies, trying to keep their balance and learn the ups and downs of hockey. One of their lessons was how to get up after you fall down. I am anxious to see them when they get ready to scrimmage in a few weeks.

Today is overcast and not really bad out. I love the 40's in march. my kind of weather..My sister in florida, said one night Maine was warmer then she was. I so laughed.....told her not to worry because where she lives the rest of the year....(she is in upstate NY) the snow was still in the feet zone....

tonight I am making pasta.....I need some comfort food and that is on the agenda. Or maybe I will make shrimp alfredo with linguini......decisions decisions....

Nabbie - That team sure was stacked! But that kind of ended up backfiring on them. I also thought Lance should have been sent home -- I felt bad for Miggy, but she is looking good. And I think Darrell's wife looked SO happy with how well he has done! That's great that she is supportive like that. I read on a comment that someone made on Jillian's FB page where someone who goes to church with that family said that Drea is looking amazing too. I wonder when she gets sent home.

Pumba - Good for your niece! Hope she does well learning hockey.

bbn - I'm so glad you got to see the Buble part of the closing ceremony!!! Sending postitive thoughts for your mom.

Marita - Stay warm! My cousin Gail is up in Michigan this week. I met her for lunch yesterday. She's frustrated that she can't swim in the pool at their new house because it's been so cold. But at least they have a hot tub too!

Melinda - If you're lurking, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! party: It's my hubby's birthday today too.

Cel - Are you traveling again? Glad you're doing well!

People have been telling me that I look tired a lot lately :headache:

Hi, just checking in

Busy day with forecast again, they keep changing the files around which is a real challenge, but best month in a long time, we actually had time to check things closely.

Did I mention we get report cards now? I feel like I'm back in grade school!

Hopefully things will slow down for a few weeks, I've been really busy at work. I am thinking of taking a couple or 3 days off sometime this month, I hope.

Still cold here, 60 today and windy, but not as bad as yesterday. I have never worn my turtle-necks so much as this year! I think my bush out front is dead from the frost earlier this year, but hubby will have to deal with that. I have been thinking of maybe starting to plant some flowers when it warms up and before it gets too hot outside, maybe when (if) I get those days off.

Marita-- when do you get your report card....my kids get theirs next Tuesday:lmao: Not planting time here.I will refrain from any other comment about your other plant, (sorry my mind went in the gutter .)

Melinda -- Hope you had a nice birthday! party:

Celery-- glad to see your around still. Are you tired , tired or stressed tired?

Moo-- I read that all the contestants are home now until the finale. I am sure some of them must look really good by now. Should be intereting how the rest of the show plays out now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONICA!!!!!

:rockband:party::drinking1:cake::dance3:

Nab, what other plant? Or I probably dont want to know? :confused3

Finally had my meeting with the boss today, it went pretty well.
I was thinking tonight of maybe moving over to Waterparks and minigolf for a change of pace, but I haven't mentioned it yet, just thought of it, and there is only 1 position there that is filled, LOL.

We have a team lunch on a boat scheduled for next Tuesday, I sure hope it warms up. I am so tired of the cold! It's supposed to get back to the 70's next week, but March is so windy, not sure how nice a boat ride will be.

I got Thursday and Friday for next week approved, now just to hope that nothing pops up the calender that I have to/want to attend (not too likely). I need to get a pedicure, I am way overdue, been doing home patch-ups, and manicure and take a suit in to be altered.

That's about all I got for now.

having a bad day....but it started to be a bad week too.

As you know I have been trying to help my niece with her eating habits and also with getting her bs down by walking too..

It is like pulling teeth to get her to eat right.....She tells me what I want to hear that she is eating OH SO GOOD.....but then my other niece says she usually is eating a can of chef boyardee pasta with two or so pieces of bread....She eats what she wants....Oh yah she will eat boneless skinless chicken breasts (a whole two sided one) and then mashed potatoes and corn on the cob and then two or three slices of bread and butter ....then washes it down with two glasses (big ones) of milk....Then she will finish it off with ice cream or another glass of milk with cookies....

We are supposed to go walking for ten am ....but she stays up until two or so in the morning and then sleeps in...So she calls after I am ready to go and says I am just getting up.....Today was the last straw....I said ...Sorry but I am on a schedule (or try to be on one for eating) to eat. I eat early so I have a snack at nine or nine thirty and I need to eat lunch around the same time ....I told her that this is not working and she NEEDS to help herself before anyone INCLUDING ME can help her....She goes to her doctors in two weeks ....so we shall see what her outcome will be......If she had followed the allowed carbs and menus I planned for her ( I think she would of been stuffed) she would of lost at least twenty pounds at first....
SO Now I feel guilty for washing my hands of this.....but what can I do....

SOrry for the rant

Pumba-- I guess a person just has to want to help themselves. You sound like you would have been a great help to her but she wasn't ready to take it. I bet it will take a scare at the doctors to get her motivated, and even then that might not even work for some people.

I cleaned my whole house at the beginning of the week, how did it become a wreck so fast. Spent the whole morning down in the rec room sorting out Hannah's toys again. She has bins but they never seem to get in them or they do a fast clean and they are mixed up dolls with play food etc. All I really wanted to do was vacuum the floor and one thing lead to another.

Nab.....you reminded me of something that happened a few (quite a few) .years ago.

Our kids were Young ....and I had the flu....laying on the couch so I could keep an eye on them.....the house had been picked up before I got sick ....hubby comes home from work and he feeds the kids and does the chores....I hear him muttering under his breath. I just picked that room up.....chuckled under my breath too.....somehow the place looks the same (without the dust) a half hour or so after when the kids get going..

thanks for keeping me focused...I will not feel guilty, I will not feel guilty I will not feel guilty.....hahaha

Pumba, don't feel bad, you can't make people do what they are not mentally ready to do. Example me and smoking. Until I really want to mentally do it, not just cause I should, it's not going to happen.

DS and I had a couple of arguments recently about what Master degree to get. I wanted him to get an MBA and he said everybody has one, and I said that's cause that is usable everywhere.
So anyway, today he called and said he is thinking about Master in Aviation Management through Embry-Riddle, which is a highly respected Aviation school (and very expensive). He wanted to go there originally, but we couldn't afford it. So now with his gov't assistant, he'll pay $315 out of pocket per class, wihch is not bad at all. I just looked up careers in aviation management, and one post said median salary is $163,800 a year! So I am ok with his choice, he can use it both in the military and civilian life.

Otherwise, all I can say is TGIF!!!

Today is Saturday ..
And I should of been able to sleep in ..dear husband made french toast and I could smell it. I dont eat it but I could smell it. Then Megara jumped in bed to say GET UP its six thirty five.....geesh...

I have to say that I have 9 regular nieces, and 24 great nieces and I lost count of the great great nieces.....so when I say my niece ....it could be any one of the above....they all call me Aunt Marie or Ma Tante or Auntie Ree..depending on age.....hahaha.....I love our big family. Nephews that is another story.....to many .....
