good morning everyone.

all we got was rain, rain and the more rain besides that other rain.....We have flooding in the low areas and down by the river that separates the twin cities. Although like my hubby said...we dont have to shovel this at all...

Tonight we go to a wake for a dear friend that I havent seen in quite a few years passed away. She was my best friend growing up and we went everywhere and did everything together ....even when we went dating in high school...I was in her wedding party and she was out of state when I got married a few months later. Makes me sad that I didnt go and visit here after she was so sick and tried to finish her life away. I thought she was in a care facility up north.
So tonight hubby will take me and we will go and see my friend and her family.

ALLIE....I was thinking if you had time, for this dinner. How about corn beef (or ham) and cabbage and carrots and potatoes......a couple of big pots would do it. I remember making this for a large group once.
Or How about everyone in your group bringing one big main course dish and have a buffet. Peanut butter frosting on a cake would be for Peter Pan and some pixie dust on it or around the table....
Have fun doing this great project.
Having maybe one page of the Peter Pan script recited or acted out during the dessert time would incorporate Peter pan.....

Pumba -- Sorry to here about your friend  Lucky you got rain we got snow but not as much as was called for yet. So no snow day for my kids. All the other schools around us have one though so it makes no sense. Our school buses were pretty empty with people thinking it was. I called to make sure. We walk anyway.

Allie-- Nice to hear that it will get better. Nicholas's is off detention today. And I agree don't think your ladies would like peanut butter and j for dinner.

Marita-- you are working too hard.

Nab, congrats on another gold for the Canadians. Just watched the ice skating relay, crazy stuff, looked very confusing to me.

Nothing much to report here, still cold, it was 40 degrees at 9am this morning, WTH?

I'm just happy tomorrow is Saturday, I am ready to sleep in! Next week is forecast again, so that will mean some late hours at the office, GRRR! I hate that!
Oh, we are getting scorecards now on forecast accuracy, everybody is freaking out about that. The boss had me build files for the Intern to double check everyones check files. I feel for the poor kid, 2 months on the job and he has no clue, and its a TON of link management to files he really has no clue about. But I will worry about that later...

DD stopped by tonight and made herself some dinner with things hubby bought for her and took home a bunch of fruits he got her too. I don't mind, I liking helping out my kids.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

okey guys listen to this ....

I have 9 or so Christmas cards all made out with your names and addresses and they didnt go to the post office...I sent out the first bunch and waited for stamps and put them in the tv drawer and there they be......:headache:

Please forgive me .....I could send them out now.....Christmas cards for Easter would be very insteresting....OR wait until next Christmas and they would be all done for a few of the people

I would probably wait now. I am good at putting things away and forgetting about them. I found one of Nicholas birthday presents( his in May) he got it for Christmas instead. :lmao:

Tired today. Stayed up watching the speed skating after the hockey game. It was just Nicholas and I , Hannah was at camp for guides and hubby was working. So I let him stay up late with me, he thought this was just great.

Can't wait to see Canada vs U.S. hockey game tomorrow. I usually don't watch hockey but the Olympic make it more exciting for me.

Pumba, just wait till xmas.

Nab, we have done the same thing with presents, LOL

I slept in till 11 today, although I woke up at 9 and at 10, but dozed back to sleep, only to have a nightmare about how nobody wants me around and I'm ugly and I am not allowed in any swimming pools cause they want nothing to do with me, sniff!!

Been working from noon til now, but i'm ready for a break. Hubby is at a Jr. Achievement Bowl-a-thon from work. I am contemplating whether to make dinner, and if so, what :confused3 . Not in the mood for anything....

Rainy, dreary and 47 here right now, not in the mood to go out shopping in this weather and dont feel like making anything we have in the house. Guess it will be chicago rolls again, LOL

Marita, call and have a pizza delivered with hot wings and some of those bread sticks.....yah I could do that.

I still cant believe that only half of you got my Christmas cards and the rest of you ..its in my drawer....Marie is WEIRD...

Pumba, I decided to make Chili, quick and easy.

I'm watching Breaking News about the expected Tsumani to hit Hawaii, so far nothing...

Marita-- that is a pretty strange dream. We love ya, even though we can only give you a cyber hug. :grouphug:

Pumba-- pizza , wings and yummy garlic bread. Sounds good. Lots of carbs there but oh so good.

I feel so bad for the snowboarder this afternoon, rain and all that fog , half the time you can't even see them come down.

We have been having rain today too. It is trying to snow but has yet to.

Prayers for all the Chile people. What strange weather this year everywhere.

ours is rain/snow type of stuff falling from the sky......YUCK to everything.

I would LOVE to have a pizza, and some hot wings and some bread sticks......but I can dream cant I????

watching the cnn news and the horrible earthquake in Chile and hope and pray that they can rescue those who are in rubble ....also for the islands and places that may be hit by these giant waves....

morning.......some freak of nature made it snow last night...we got a dusting...so maybe two or three inches and hubby is moving it off the steps.....hopefully it will melt with the warm temps we are having 40's......I dislike snow but you all knew that didnt you....

Today we are having a double birthday party for Karen our daughter in law and Kimberly our daughter..so dinner for twelve. Turkey and all the fixings....only difference is instead of pies and cheesecakes we are having birthday cake and ice cream.

Megara woke up a few times last night because of the snow pushers...Plows for those who live south of us....they must have money to burn because it is not much snow to push around....

Hope you all have a great day ..this last day of February.........remember in two weeks we do the clock change.....

and last but not least.......MARITA.......we love you .......we are your bestest cyber friends.........and also remember that you have met a lot of these imaginary friends

I am so going to miss my Olypmics!

I am going to miss the morning show were they show reviews from the night before and fluff stuff with the commentators. Some of the commentators are from Toronto so it was fun to see them having fun.

And of course the big hockey game is on this afternoon. Canada vs US.

Pumba-- Have a great day with your family....supper sounds yummy. Take that over pizza.

We have mild weather today too. Suppose to be mild all week. :woohoo:We get snow and it melts right away can't beat that.

What an exciting afternoon for us Canadians!!!

They are screaming out there in the streets tonight. Honking , they are going crazy. We broke a record for the most Gold medals in the Winter Olympics. 14 in all , most were in the last few days too.

Man am I going to have bad withdrawal tomorrow. I have spend my days watching from morning to late night. :lmao:

Proud to be a Canadian !!!!

Congratulations, Nabbie! Maybe I'll go watch some of the closing ceremonies in my room tonight. Hubby just isn't into the Olympics. At least you'll have Biggest Loser to look forward to!

I've had a pretty low key weekend. Several people said I looked tired last week, so I tried to get some extra rest. I drank way too much tea yesterday, so I had trouble getting to sleep last night. I didn't repeat that mistake today!

We went out for an early birthday dinner for my hubby this afternoon. He was hungry for fried shrimp, so we went to a seafood place. Red Lobster was packed, so we went to a different restaurant, which was very nice. I had some shrimp and scallops sauteed in a spicy sauce with baby spinach and mushrooms over a sliced baked potato. It was delicious, but I could only eat about half of it, so I just heated up my leftovers. Mmmm!

A friend of mine gave me her hubby's corn chowder recipe yesterday (after I saw her post on FB that she was making it), so I've got that going in the crockpot for tomorrow. She says her family and her hubby's coworkers love it, so it sounds like it'll be good. I am only making a 1/3 batch, which should be plenty for me since I'm not sure Don will even try it.

Moo, I almost asked you for the corn chowder recipe, but who am I kidding? I don't own a crock pot, and if I want corn chowder, I will buy a can :rolleyes1

Just finished curling my hair. Such a bother!
I feel compelled to clean my cook top. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak. Did I mention how much I hate my beige flat cooktop? You cant boil water on it without black stains!:headache:

I attempted to make parmesan mashed potatoes withtout the parmesan tonight (aka regular mashed potatoes), but I think I put in too much liquid. Guess I'll stick with the box..

Watching the closing ceremonies here

PS: DS was on duty Saturday and he got all sorts of alarms going off. The Chile earthquake set them off. Good to know the system is working.....

Marita - That must have caused some excitement for your son and the people he was working with!

Well, I tasted the corn chowder and it was pretty good. I'm taking some for lunch tomorrow. It was pretty easy to make, but the handle on the lid of my crockpot broke off  I'm going to see if my hubby can figure out how to rig a replacement handle.

bbn - Hope you were watching the closing ceremony and got to see Michael Buble sing! I liked it when they ripped the Mountie uniform off of him :lmao:

Michael Buble sang and they ripped off a uniform?
How did I miss that, I had it on TV the whole time.

I said it before, I say it again, I have no concentration when it comes to TV :confused3

Better drag myself to bed..........

good morning everyone..
Last nights birthday dinner was great. Turkey was so moist and my stuffing.....YUM......I love a homemade bread stuffing...everything was perfect.
BUT my husband and son were putting in a wireless router and all of a sudden my time warner interent and telephone went OUT........I, of course, being a female blamed it on them........but it was all of our area of town. We didnt have any phone or internet until this morning...

My youngest grandson upchucked in my bathroom and they left early. He was sick a few times in the night and is up and about this morning.......he stayed home today.

I will be back on later.........
