Thanks for missing me, Nab  Trying to get the place in better shape, getting there, and this week was forecast week, which is always heck!

Moo, I need to take down my tree this weekend  At least it's still January. Surgery Monday, but im not worried at all this time. (hope that will be justified)

BH, where have you been? Don't be a stranger. Sorry business is down, but who the heck wants to be out in this weather?

Pumba, yay for a day with Ava!

Funny story from today. Boss is consolidating results from sales from the xmas displays at all the hotels. So he read to us this morning that Boardwalk sold (making the numbers up, but approximate) 50 gingerbread houses and 25 were stolen. I was wondering ow people walk out with so many gingerbread houses :confused3

After being copied on some emails later that day, I realized that they were not stolen gingerbread houses, they sold 25 Stollen, which are German cakes something like fruitcake (they have a German pastry chef). We got a good laugh out of that.

Had lunch at the Wave today, it was really pretty good. First time I went there, I didn't care for what I got at all, but I had a really good Reuben today and ate the whole thing (Moo will get this). Also a Smoothie and then some cake.

DS had to go for more training today, but they doubled up on trainees, so he didnt get to close the door to the contol chamber. Might not sound like a big deal, but the door weighs 8,000 lbs., so if you mess up, it can cause real problems, which you DO NOT WANT in a nuclear missile facility. So he has to go back to learn how to close the door.

Wow, Marita! You really must have been hungry today!!! Glad you enjoyed the Wave. I'm looking forward to eating there again . . . some day. I had a very nice meal there with my sis and her friend.

Maybe I'll be able to eat a bit more than an appetizer next time

Hope your DS gets to learn how to close that door soon.

Is your hubby on freeze control again tonight?

Hi Moo!

No, hubby is off tonight, but back on tomorrow night. Snow (well really ice slurries with some flakes) predicted for tomorow morning.
I'm afraid Sandy is going to be cold, brrrr!
They were setting up tents and port-a-potties all over the place today. here was a horrible congestion neat the Hess station, I wondered why.
There were a ton of signs set up along the road, with various facts, signed by Sharpie. I think people were slowing down to read those

i think I am fading...............

No report from Sandy's chip yet. I read someone else's FB status that it was raining ice! :scared1: Hope they stay safe out there. I'll keep you posted. :teacher:

some times people who are not used to ice or snow on the ground slip and fall so easily ......fingers crossed that all the runners are safe today.....

SOOOOOO I think I can sleep in today...right????? WRONG.......Megara jumped the door at quarter of seven.....I could not believe it. ALL this week the neighbors have been using our driveway on one side of the house to park their truck for debris from the roofing job they are having done.....I mean they dont start banging until seven (legal time) but they stand outside the driveway TALKING LOUD....so I have not slept in ......something is not right here...hahaha.

yesterday I had such a great time with Ms. Ava....she is a joy to care for and she remembered where everything is....and what NOT TO DO but does it anyways.....hahaha......I do love her. she would walk up to me and climb in my lap (with my help) and then kiss my shoulder or my arm.....I can melt so easily.....HAHAHA>.....

Marita ......Hope that your son gets to do his deed .......and glad that all the "stollen" houses were not stolen.......that was a good one for sure....

On the ground at this time is still a good 12 or so inches of the dreaded white stuff....and alot of ice here.....when the plows did the sidewalks ..the leveled off snow made it very icy.......they did go thru with the other machine and put a wee bit of sand with salt in it down.....hubby got some dirt to put down so Megara would not fall on her legs and hurt herself...she is a great doggie ......but hates cold weather......she is a summer doggie.

Hope you hear soon how Sandy is doing....

Marita-- That is one mega door they have to close. Hope your son can do it soon and move on. I almost forgot you had to get your second eye done. What a difference that will make.

Pumba-- we don't have that much snow here. Still just a dusting with ice under it fromt the first time. It is the extreme cold that is hitting us. Then by the end of this week we are suppose to be above 0 . Weird weather.

Ali-- thanks for keeping us up to date with Sandy. Hope they are not slip sliding. I knew the year we were down there it was very cold for them to run. I thought that was a cold thing but they said it wasn't because most weren't use to the cold.

Well, no snow or sleet at my house this morning, but it gets colder out at Disney, so that is possible they had ice falling. We did have a light rain this morning. Hope Sandy made it OK.

I need to go to ABC today and get some wine. Although not really, still have tons left from Chrstmas when DH bought out the entire store. And I have a potential date with Cel to take down our tress at 2pm in an effort of support to get it done :rolleyes1

SANDY @ Finish in 03:53:07!!!
:cheer2::yay::woohoo::dance3::worship::cheer2:

CONGRATULATIONS SANDY!!!!!

I had a really good Reuben today and ate the whole thing (Moo will get this). Also a Smoothie and then some cake.

:faint: You won't eat again for a month!
:rotfl:

I'm trying to decide if I need a nap before our date for taking down the trees. Hmm.
Probably not.

I would apologize for posting this, but we don't have any boys showing up lately except for lil g and he's a nurse who used to deliver babies, so it won't phase him.

I have my first UTI. Ick.
Thank God for minute clinics! I think they are the best thing ever.

I also wish I could have the cool insurance card scanner they have! It's awesome, but we're non profit and the way our clinics are set up, it wouldn't be practical.
but it's still cool!

WOOHOOO for Sandy!!!!!!!!!! :cool1::thumbsup2:cheer2: Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope you check in! Things will get warmer here by Tuesday, so stay warm tomorrow and rest up!

Cel, take a nap, you got 1 1/2 hours. We have to show solidarity here to get this done. or it wont happen for another month!

That is awesome Sandy.........Congratulations to you.

Now cel...drink plenty of water or some of that other red stuff....cranberry juice...YUCK but it is supposedly a working miracle drink...
As far as taking down the trees......Last night on the way home from eating dinner.....We saw a zillion houses...(well maybe not a zillion but quite a few) still with their trees up and lighted ...and outdoors blinking away.....it is still pretty to look at but I could not stand it in my house to long....

Do you southern belles do artificial trees or the real mccoys.....

Do you southern belles do artificial trees or the real mccoys.....

We have an artificial one, but I always took it down on New Year's Day. This year we got a live tree, and it was down the day after Christmas because it wasn't taking the water anymore, and the limbs were drooping, and dropping my nice Hallmark ornaments. We still have folks down here who are still turning on their outside lights too.

Artifial here too, and pre-lit. Maybe I should get a live one next year, that would force me to take it down earlier.

Actually, I did not really feel like putting it up this year, but of course hubby wont hear of it. It finally went up by noon on Christmas Eve, just before the big party

The kitchen is clean! Step one in fixing the house.

The kitchen had dishes from two weeks ago in it. :sad2:
I wasn't home at all most of last week because of Mary dying (the 13 year old) and I just haven't felt like cleaning after work this week.

But it's clean now.

I decided against taking a nap.

I can't really drink cranberry juice because of the sugar, but I always drink sugar free white cranberry juice drink mixes from ocean spray.
hopefully they have the good stuff in them too.

I love cranberry juice - it was one of the things I was worried about missing because of the surgery, but the drink packets taste just as good.

I always have a fake tree.
pre lit too.
a lot of my disney ornaments are super heavy so i have to bend branches to hold them - I bet they'd fall off a real tree.

40 minutes to go, Marita!

After the tree is done, I have to get out my new dyson. I bought it the day after Christmas and still haven't opened the box.

35 minutes to go, Cel!

I got out the storage box to pack it in.

I got a new Dyson too, but it's been used before. I always get a kick out of emptying the container with a flip of a finger. So much easier than the old bags and having to untangle strings (where did they come from anyway?) from the rolling brush.

I started defrosting chicken for chicken fricassee. It's so good and so easy. Guess I should feed hubby before he goes out in the freezing weather again tonight.

Cel, good thing we have a date, I bet I would not do this if we didnt!

30 seconds to go!!!!! Let's move it BG and CEL!!! Said in my best Ty Pennington voice! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

DONE! Except for actual tree which DH will have to put away. :santa:
