All weather all the time on the news. Love it! People sending in pics of iciles and snow. Record low since 1970. I feel cheated though, all I got was rain.
Forecast for Sandy's hubby's run tomorrow is 30! Loq of about 26 tonight, brrrr!

Oh, funny side note. DH says to me today "are you going to bed early tonight so you can get up?"
I said NO
He said, OK fine, then dont count on me taking you to surgery,
I said "Tomorrow is Sunday"
I think he said something like "Oh" LOL

flannel sheets are a goog idea today! I hear FL may get up to 70 before we leave!

Yep, I was up at 2 at Epcot by 3am to pour and pass out water to the runners! MY GOOGNESS IT WAS COLD> today I decided 27 deg in Fl feels colder than 27 deg in Chicago!! :rotfl2:

as I was passing out water, it would freeze!! Yep, hold water, watch it freeze - within minutes mind you - I'd find a glass of water, no ice, go to the path of runners, and the top was frozen... "GET your Ice cold water here - no charge for ice+"

Really 2 miles and you would rather have hot chocolate than water!!

Sandy-- that sounds way to cold. And I know the people in Florida feel it more because they are not used to it. Did you take mittens with you at least. Forgot to ask , guess you didn't have to strip any clothes off yesterday did you?

Marita-- That is funny about your husband thinking it was Monday today. Glad it is not. Flannel sheets are good.

Lynette-- isn't that the steak place they give you no Regis and Kelly if you a cert. for if you don't win the big prize. :lmao: We do not have one of them here either.

Moo-- Your right it is really cold this year. Haven't got much snow just cold. Way to go on scoring a weeks pass at the gym. I need to get all the chocolate out the house. We got so many boxes of chocolates from people this year.

Hound-- sounds like your have a full plate right now, hope things get better for you and your family.

Well off to church, then have to take Nicholas to the snow hill.

Have a Great Sunday everyone!

Marita....buy a box of tapioca pudding and it is just the little eye balls like....put it in our cupboard and keep it there for thickening agents you may need in the future.....ORRRRRRRRRR you can make the fluffy tapioca and eat it while it is still warm......I introduced that to my DIL one Sunday family dinner and .......there was none for dessert......she and I sat there with our spoons in the pot eating it while it was still fluffy and warm.......GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!

I have enough eggs I should do the fluffy tapioca .....but I have a pumpkin pie in the oven right now.......hubby is making his chili ....I dont do his Chili....to much for my delicate stomach....hahaha.....he likes his stuff HOT....

You are right about Florida cold is stinking colder then Maine cold.....or your COLD.....we were there one December and we had our winter coats on and mittens and it was still freezing ....and it wasnt below 35..we could handle that at home but some how it didnt make sense to see it in Disney.....

I ended up making an apple and cranberry pie.
They didn't have fresh cranberries, so I got dried ones.
it was ok - just no juice.
I need to experiment more.

three cans of cherries sounds like my kind of pie, sandy!

pumba - I loooooooove tapioca. I think I'll go buy some today.

Breadman has decided this year is going to be about buying American made products.
He found socks in his town, but he needs underwear, so we're headed to Nashville.
To Opry Mills, for anyone who's familiar with Nashville.
it's huge and right beside the gaylord opryland hotel (the same people who made the gaylord palms outside of disney).

I'm going to pick up some silverwear I think.

Hound-- sounds like your have a full plate right now, hope things get better for you and your family.

Have a Great Sunday everyone!

Thanks we need it ...My wife was happy at first when she moved home with the baby an now those 2 are constantly fighting over this an that :headache:

Here's my recipe for making fruit pies.

I've only used it when making blueberry or a mixed berry pie but it calls for any kind of fresh fruit.

1 cup sour cream
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt

use a pre-made or pre-bought pie shell and place in a pie pan. Mix all the above ingredients together and set aside, it will thicken.

Fill pie crust with your fruit. Pour mixture over fruit making sure to cover the fruit completely. Bake for 45 minutes till bubbly at 350 degrees. Very lightly brown it.

I got this recipe from a very special person. At her funeral many years ago, her family mainly her children were arguing who was going to get the last of the pies that were in the freezer. She was known for making these delicious pies.

Hope that can work for you.

Mony, I'll have to try that with strawberries.
I love sour cream, sounds yummy!

Hubby and I just had a slice of Pumba' cheesecakes, it's soooo good and creamy :cloud9:

I think there is a nap in my very near future!

25 again tonight here DS said too that Orlando feels much colder than Montana :confused3 He blames it on humidity.

Marita.......I lick the beaters when I make the cheesecake....next week I will make it again and put the blueberry topping on it......delicious and I can stand a few carbs here and there.......mostly there.

Good luck with your eyes.....I am sure all will be okey.....just rest and dont push or carry anything for a few.....got it???

Marita - Just want to wish you goog luck on your eye surgery tomorrow! :grouphug:

My afternoon at the gym was interesting. I tried a regular and recumbent bike, a treadmill, an elliptical, and another machine that I don't know the name of. I did fine on the bikes, did not like walking on the treadmill (too hard on my knees), and the elliptical was also tough for me. I could only do about 5 minutes. The last machine (a strider?) I liked better than the elliptical, but after about 5 minutes, it really sped up so I got out of breath and my knees were hurting, so I figured I was done at that point. I took my swimsuit, but I was too tired to swim. Also, I wasn't sure whether the exercise pool was warm again -- they had it down to 60* yesterday for a polar bear plunge. Brrr. I'm planning to get in the hot tub here at home momentarily, as soon as my mini-quiches are done.

The good news is that I have dropped my holiday weight plus a little more, but I think in order to meet my weight loss goal, I'll need to be exercising pretty much every day the rest of the winter

I need to exercise too.

blech. Still haven't gotten on the scale to see how bad the post Christmas weight gain is.

Making things like apple pies doesn't help! :lmao:

Breadman did not find any made in the US clothes today.
the closest we found was some Lee jeans - made in Mexico with US fabric then inspected in North Carolina.
ladies jeans
They were only 7 bucks. So I bought them.

I kept hoping we could find women's underwear made in the US so I could force him to wear those. ha.
he says he'll just go commando.

Marita-- Good luck with your second surgery tomorrow. I thought of you in church today. The priest played parts of Fiddler on the Roof. His sermon was all on traditions but things could change too. As does the church, so the young people will still come.

Moo-- I love the elliptical machine. I find I run more then I walk on the treadmill. But it does get boring, walking outside is so much better.

Celery-- glad your pies turned out good. I could find some stuff that is made here in Canada. Not sure about underwear....haha. Winter Olympics gear is really big around here right now since they are in Canada this year.

Anybody want a huge 16 year old Mutt that drives me nuts? Please???????

Thanks for all the well-wishes for tomorrow. :grouphug: 29 overnight, and I have to wear a short sleeved button up shirt for the operation, so I have to layer, BRRRR. At least hubby got the night off today so he can take me in the morning. Tuesday is another matter, follow-up appt. at 8AM. I dont know HOW I am going to make it out of the house by 7am to get there, Going to try and switch time tomorrow. WHy arent places open on weekends, dangitt!!!!!!!?

Moo, sounds like quite the work out you had! I am panting from exhaustion just reading it!

Nab, I'm looking forward to the Winter Olympics, that will be fun!

DD stopped by tonight (while I was napping) and left me a mousepad with a picture of the family on the cruise in 2008, with lifejackets on, just before the excercise. We set the camera to auto and shot the pic, hubby is saluting. Great pic, can't wait to take it to the office.

Guess I better go to bed early tonight, no liquids after midnight

PS: Word to the wise: Don't ever get a beige glass cooktop. You can't even boil water without the cooktop being a mess. Luckily it cleans up, but only with scrubbing. (which I was contemplating but did not get done tonight)

Thinking of you Marita. :wizard::3dglasses

It is "the most wonderful day of the year" here... :woohoo: :teacher:and supposed to hit a balmy 30 degrees this afternoon. Yesterday was the first day we had double digits in quite some time.

Marita Hope all went well!! Thinking of you, :wizard: - I love that you took that picture - I bet it is priceless!! and maybe the cold is taking your mind off the surgery!! I am so done with this cold, I cannot imagine how the locals feel! I dont WANT to put a sweater, coat, gloves on - I'm in Disneyworld DAGNABBIT!!

DH is saying time to get ready for the Boardwalk Breakfast!!

we'll have to start a virtual workout time!!

we are doing good too in the double digits; it is 18 and the roofing guys next door working on their house are out there hammering already.....but Megara and I got up ...put the trash out to the sidewalk and she went potty ....ate her breakfast and I had mine.....sipping my coffee now..

Last night got a phone call from DIL ......she and our son and two munchkins and puppy Tessie had gone for a ride to Margaritas to get take out mexican food......so ANYWAYS......she called to tell us that they had an accident. I YELLED>.....they were in the big truck thank goodness.....a woman went thru her yield and hit Brian on the left side.did a number to her vehicle...it had to be towed.....and his truck side had to be pulled out so it wouldnt rub the tire....He wanted to be able to drive it home so Owen wouldnt be freaking out. He said to them afterwards....I thought you said we wouldnt have any more crashes...The police man said that it was cut and dry and another witness behind the lady came forward and said that she went when she shouldnt of....
MAIN thing is that no one in either vehicle was hurt......that is the most important thing ...

Marita I will think of you today......I couldnt skip the next days 7 am appointment because they want to make sure that the pressure is not up in your eyes....usually happens after surgery and also to make sure that the lens is in and not moved......Hope all is well..

Cel...I wonder if the dried fruit needed more moisture because it has none??? Hubby made a cherry pie one year for his brother in the big pie plate and it took six cans of cherrys...I liked the apple pie the best in that plate......ten lbs and three extra large apples ...delicious....
Better get rid of the pumpkin pie...made my sugar be a trifle wee bit itsy bitsy high......:rolleyes1

Pumba-- we are going to have to put your family in a bubble. Glad everyone was ok.

Marita-- Hope everything is going well. Bundle up I think it is cold outside.

Sandy-- your right , shouldn't have to wear mittens and sweaters on a winter vacation unless your on a ski trip. Saw pictures on the news of ice on the orange trees some where in Florida that was -1 and they said Orlando was 8 ...Brrr.

Hubby is on night shift for three days so I get the car back....where to go. :lmao:

Thanka again for all the well-wishes. I was done by 9:45 this morning, and fell asleep in the car driving home, then went straight to the couch for a 3 hour nap! My vision is blurry right now, not something I remember from the first time, but they say that's normal. Hopefully that will clear up by tomorrow.

I tried to find the phone number to the place to try to change my 8am appt tomorrow to some other time, since hubby can't take me, and ran across instructions about NO ALCOHOL for 24 hours. OOOPPS! I was enjoying a glass of wine :rotfl:Oh well, 1 guess one glass won't kill me (maybe)

No luck with changing the appt, though... danggit! Just hope I wake up in time :rolleyes1

Marita: Thanks for checking in, blurry eyed and all, good to hear that you are fine.

Just locked my freakin keys in the car and my DH is in PA with the spare set.

Waiting on AAA to get here.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!!!!!!!!

At least I did it after I got home.

Cold and lots of snow here. Brrrrrr.

Good to know that it's almost impossible to break in to my car. Wonder if the person I'm waiting on can do it. Stay tuned.....

Mony, YIKES! Hope you at least safe and warm inside...

My eye seems slightly less blurry already.
