Pumba-- not snowing here but it sure is cold and windy. Is this new place you speak of your hunting cabin?

Having a lazy Saturday here. Well trying to anyway. Catching up on TV shows I recorded and reading my library book. Nicholas is at baseball practice with his dad and Hannah has been keeping herself busy too with crafts of course. Not sure what I am suppose to do with all the things she makes. Trying to take pictures and then slowly make some of them disappear. :lmao:

oops......nope no hunting camp.......from one end of the US to the other end of the US.....we got a place in Florida....an elderly lady is moving back to NY and her daughter was having a yard sale to get rid of some of her treasures....and my sister was inside and said what an immaculate place....we got a phone call and had to think it over a few days......then called and got the info from the realtor and she sent us the disclosure sheets and then we called my sister back and asked her and her husband to go and look at it like they were going to buy it......and they did and said it was a great deal......corner lot, a double wide...we made an offer the people accepted it and we sent the deposit and we close in two weeks.......YUP FAST and furious....but wicked excited...guess the reason that we didnt find anything up in the boonies is because this was going to happen....hubby doesnt retire for three more years but we can visit it..

Wow, Pumba, I thought it was a hunting cabin too. Never saw Florida coming!
I sure hope you wont regret it, you are going to miss your family.

So where in Floria is it?

Pumba -- How exciting for you!! You will be getting away from the snow, what a bonus. Three years isn't that far away, I find the years going by so fast, maybe because I don't work.

No, Marita you would be too bored...... :lmao:

I do miss socializing with people I worked with. Heck I have not worked in 12 years! Well at least not worked for a pay check outside the home in 12 years.

I stopped working when my kids were born....Do I regret it ....sometimes but there were alot of stay at home moms and we had a great bond...I then went from my kids to taking care of our friends kids to taking care of other friends kids to our grandkids and now my grand niece.....wouldnt of missed being here for the world......

I have very little socializing where I work now. If I talk to anyone for 15 minutes a day. that's a lot. And hubby is asleep when I get home. I would retire if I could, but I'd give up too much money between what I would get now and age 62. I know I am not going to last till 65!

I just got "Blind Side" on demand, $3.99, not bad.

Since we came here for hubby's job , we didn't know anyone. The neighbours I did befriend were from here and already had bonds with others or they went back to work after the kids were full time in school.

I do stay and talk to the other mothers at the school when I pick the kids up and drop off but this is not the same as having a best friend. Same as church, I know them say hi etc. but do not go out and have coffee ( which I don't drink anyway) with anyone. That is why it is nice when hubby is off durning the week and we are out and about just the two of us. He doesn't have any so called friends either. Once and awhile he will go out with the guys from work.

It think it is funny on House Hunters where they always say that the kitchen living spaces are good for entertaining. :confused3 Only entertaining we do is church related for the kids( baptism, First and now Confirmation). No neighbourhood parties at my house. Acutally I would probably be to stressed thinking of everything I had to get right and ready for ....

aww, Nab, that sounds so like me, I dont have anyfriends either. Before I had knifreak and Asst. #2 to talk to during the day, but my new partner and I dont talk much.
That reminds me, she just accepted a job offer, so I will be working with a new person.
You are my firends, and my BFF who is far away too.

you guys are the best..

I talk about you guys as if we were next door neighbors......and I do love this bond we all have...

I do too Pumba, my hubby knows all about you guys.

That is why it is sad that our thread seem like are thread is missing alot of people. But I can relate , some days I have nothing to say....I lead such an excited life you know.

Marita keeps me laughing , or should I say I laugh with her not at her.

Pumba you never did tell us where in Florida you bought, is it near the mouse?

Nab, how do I keep you laughing? I am not a funny person.

Next Tuesday we are going to Sanaa for a farewell lunch for a collegue. I think I will just get the lamb appertizer. I am not a big eater, and the entrees cost an arm and a leg! Maybe get a dessert too. Or just the Naan bread. Any suggestions?

Pumba, we do need to know where you are buying!

You know I have never had lamb before, I think out of all that I would have a hard time picking something. I have and samosas before , where I used to work had an Indian woman who made these and brought them in. I really like them. They were spicy though.

I am bad at trying new things. I just like the basic stuff. Hubby he will try anything. Nicholas teacher has a bottle or can of worms in his classroom. The kids have to have a note sent in saying they could try them. Nicholas is all for it.

Goog evening. Or should I say goog morning?!! I ran a bunch of errands today. Nothing too exciting. I picked up a couple pairs of shorts and a t-shirt today. I need to rebuild my summer clothes before vacation next month, so I had to do a bit of shopping. Hope I can find a few more cute tops over the next few weeks. Once it warms back up again, I'll be needing some for work too. I'm down about three sizes overall so none of my old stuff fits and I donated most of it to Goodwill anyway in December!

Marita - I've heard good reviews about the Naan bread. I personally am not that fond of lamb unless it's mixed with beef and spices in a gyro. Like Nabbie said, the samosas might be interesting to try. I agree that those are pretty steep prices for lunch, probably even with your discount. Maybe you could find someone to share with?

Nabbie - Too bad you don't live a little closer so we could get together once in a while. We really need to plan a Moovers meet . . .

Pumba - Congrats on your new place!!!

party: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALLIE!!! :bday:

Moo, a Moover meet would be fun with Nab. i'm in the mood for food right now and could go for numerous places other than Sanaa...

W00t for new clothes, that;s fabulous! I need to call Ellie new BFF seamstrress to fix up some old outfits that dont fit all that well, so I have barely have worn them. Unfortunately, some of those are pants to tight at the waist, so im not sure she can fix those. She said she is getting a new apt at the end of May with a fitting room so I wouldnt have to hang out in the restroom at Joann's again. That was kind of strange, ok when it was empty, but when people came in, not so much. there were two other stalls, so not a problem, but still awkward. BTW, she did an awesome job with alterations.

and to think we had snow yesterday........it was mighty chilly here ......I know that the bond we all have has grown to be a great friendship bond.....where else but on an internet site could this happen......I sit here and look up at the top of my computer area (besides a big moose rack) I see my little Canadian moose......he is so cute...reminds me that I was accepted and it was great....

I did post where the place was....it is on my post..but it is Hernando...Close to Iverness I think.
Kids are on vacation this week so I am thinking that rug rat from next door will come here and bug the heck out of me.....and eat me out of house and home...ROFL....he comes over even when I am not watching out for him....he says what do you have for a snack......love it.

today is our granddaughters 4th birthday and we are having a cookout......we will eat in but the food is cooked outside....hamburg, red hot dogs and brown hot dogs, mac salad and tossed salad and birthday cake.....oh yah I will cook a tofu burger for my son in law and he gets some rice with it.....

see you later gators

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLIE!!!!!!

:rockband:party::drinking1:cake::dance3:

HOPE ALL YOUR WISHES COME TRUE!

Moo and NAB - thanks for the birthday wishes! We did most of the celebrating yesterday. DD and DH (mainly DD's idea, but DH helped implement it) attempted to make me a cake from scratch. I had to go out and buy my best friend's birthday gift (we share the same birthday ;)). When I came home, I could see the back door open to the deck as I drove in to the neighborhood. I came around to the house, and put up the garage door, and had noticed it was cracked. Well, once I opened it Trixie came RUNNING out. Still wasn't sure what was going on, but corralled Trix back into my car, and made sure Shadow wasn't around. She runs off and doesn't come back. :headache: Once I got out of the car, and into the house I realized what had happened. The cake had burned. :sad2: After discussing with both of them, I realized that they had put Tablespoons of Baking Powder into the mix instead of Teaspoons. It bubbled up and over and onto the bottom of the oven, and caused much smoke and stink in the house. :rotfl: So DH cleaned up the mess and headed off to Publix to buy a store bought cake. That was fine with me. I appreciated the effort. Well, they came home with a cake, but forgot to get it personalized. :headache: Again, I told them it is the thought that counts, and at this point it WAS! Anyway we celebrated with my undecorated cookie cake, and had a grand time! They gave me a Tracer, which is a home version of an overhead projector. :thumbsup2

Also, I got to church today, and my co teachers said they needed the last 5-10 minutes of class. I was still clueless. Well, they (and the kids) threw me a surprise birthday party in Sunday School today.:cheer2: We had doughnuts and Apple Juice. Fun time was had by all. There is nothing like having 18 - 4 year olds sing Happy Birthday to you. The weather is beautiful, so all in all I am having a great day!

I am so thankful for all of you Moovers! :grouphug: I'm so blessed to call you FRIENDS!!

Allie, sounds like a GREAT birthday!

Wishing you a Happy Birthday as well!
