morning everyone in the outside world...

This morning I got up to what I thought was dreary skies but looked out the back area (took Megara out for her morning potty) and the sky was a funky color.....cant describe it....sort of dark greyish......and the sun coming from behind me was shining on those trees in that area and the snow on top of the limbs.....yes it was beautiful ...even though I dont like snow...but you all knew that already....hehahaha
For the newcomers.........I live in Maine and when we get snow after snow after snowstorm.....I tend to say......the above comment..

the sidewalk snowblowers (now those are cool) are doing across the street sidewalks and will be doing our side in about a half hour or so....MEGARA is "yelling" at them to say....get out of my sidewalk.....this is Megara territory.....

I had to tell a few people that we are going to Disney and I got a few weird looks and one darn mean one........My dump and run next door said he is coming to Disney with us.......we have been with them (actually they went because we were going) maybe two or three times.....ended up with four families and we had a fantastic time.....so my dump and run child is upset because they arent going until 2011......I promise I will get him YET another t shirt......he has all the Indiana jones t shirts that we get him ....he loves those.....

I got my blood results and other tests from the Diabetes doctors office and all is GREAT .....kidneys are good...lipids are good except my LDL's (started the fish oil this past week)..gotta get that in the normal range....but the cholesterol part is great and my good is great.....what more can an ol' lady ask for....

Lynette -- so glad your grandma is on the mend.

P.J.-- Love your kids stories. Hannah's grade 4 class wrote poems at the beginning of the year for a Young Writers contest and a few kids won are getting them published in a book in May. She is so excited. Her poem was named "Cats" but she can't remember the rest. We got a letter in the mail that we have to sign a release and give a small biography of her....

Moo-- 9 isn't early when your regular time is 11:00. Yes not really liking that red team. There is always one team you love to hate. I thought the green team was going to punch Jillian....

Twinkie-- come on already and have that baby girl. I will send you chocolate!

Well nothing on tv tonight and not much happen on here either so I think I will head to bed and read. Hubby is working so have to get the kids to bed first.

went to the doctors today for my annual physical...good lordy i hate that....and he knows it......he thinks I am doing good with my sugars, and my lipids......he said those were great......so I am happy about this .
I will get the results of my other test in a week or so....always gets me uptight until that comes in....Mammo in March....and if I want to I will go and see my orthopedic specialist for my wrist.......will see if I want to go now or wait .....see the minute today started my wrist wasnt as bad as it has been the last few months...go figure.

Ok, I've come up with another nickname for myself. Loved Goose Girl, and probably always will, BUT..................Tornado Allie! Yes, we had another one come through, but this time I was NOT in my car. I was at the high school getting college info for my son, and totally oblivious to the weather outside. We were in the cafeteria with walls of glass on both sides. Actually, I don't think it was a tornado when it went over us, but it did form and hit part of the downtown area of the next town over. Scary stuff! Just part of living in the South, I guess.

Hope everyone has a Happy Friday! This week has seemed to last FOREVER considering it was a short week.

Allie-- glad you are safe. We get tornados here too but they are usually in the summer. Your son is going to College soon? It seems like he just got his drivers license. Time flies.

Warming up nicely after our two days in the deep freeze. My car really needs a rinse off. We have had no snow but lots of salt on the roads for the ice.

Heading to my Mom's tonight. I think hubby wants to show off the new truck. So I need to pack for the weekend today and clean up a bit. Kids are always excited to go to grandma's.

We are signed up for stocking shelves at a food bank in February for our Give a Day Get a Day tickets. Volunteer opportunities for people with littles are few and far between. The program doesn't even allow for children under 6 to participate so we'll still have to buy a ticket for Kaleb. (

It's a girl! Katherine "Twinkie" was born yesterday (yes Lynt we know it was your birthday!!!). She weighed 7 lbs 4 oz and, I will quote, she is beautiful and healthy!

Hi y'all! Wanted to say thanks for all the b-day wishes and cyber gifts. As usual, you've all outdone yourselves. But I really must give mad propz to Twinkie! What better way to say happy birthday to me than to commemorate my day with the birth of a baby?! If Twink's set on not using Tilde, I must say that Katherine is a lovely alternative! Congrats and God bless the family!

One of my oldest and dearest friends became a first-time dad yesterday! His fiancee gave birth to their first child late last night. A girl, named Molly.

It was a pretty darn goog birthday, I must say!


Seems like there's a fair amount of stuff going on here (for a change!).

Tornado Allie, LOVE the new nickname! Glad you're safe! Seems like you have a talent for near misses, eh?

Lynette - Yes, I stopped the Principal in the hallway, and told him about my previous experience, and asked him if it was safe for me to travel down the road to the middle school for DS' basketball game, and he assured me I would be fine. Wish I could develop some other skill than attracting tornadoes though. Oh, and yes he did just get his license, but down here you have to have all your ducks in a row by the fall of your senior year as far as colleges go. He will have to take the ACT again, so as to hopefully get more scholarship money.
