LilG: If it is your bday:

If not, skip that.

DTD:
I was at my gmas the other day and did see your Bobby Knight youtube. Thanks so much for posting it. You have excellent taste in basketball commentators.:thumbsup2

Celery: Thanks for all the nice stuff you said and for the bacon cheeseburgers and for the sports talk. Gosh, you're swell.:flower3:

Hi everybody. We're having lots of fun doing spring break stuff with the kiddos. Eating lots of fattening food. Playing cards. Watching Movies. Going bowling. Playing arcade games. Spending time with the cousins. Playing volleyball.

We might go to the zoo tomorrow if the weather cooperates. And of course you better believe there has been some basketball watching and some bracketeering going on. So far Ethan is in the lead and I"m in third. DUKE messed me up slightly, but I still dont hate them. ;) I hope you guys are having a good week.

I agree Marita you paid your dues....but I think all your napkins are used up by now.....:lmao:

It is really windy here too.

The kitchen guy dropped off a sample door for me, to help pick out a floor then he tells me they are starting a day earlier. Which is good and bad. I still don't have all the stuff out of the cupboards. I have until next Monday to do it though.

A
Yikes Nabbie about having to clear out cabinets!
I dread the day we decide to sell our house. So much stuff to do!I keep thinking we should do it now, while we live here to enjoy it, but life and work get in the way.

Oh, I got a spam from Merry Maids today for $30 off (big deal!) Anyway, I deleted it with glee! I filled in their very lengthy questionaire TWICE for a quote (like half an hour) and both times got a reponse that I would have to have someone inspect my house before they gave me a quote. Now that the ecomony is down, they decide to be less choosy.
So I have no one to clean my house(except me and DH), AND I am ticked off at Merry Maid and deleted their offer.:snooty:

Years ago my niece came one a weekto clean, that as sooooooooo great!

Marita, it sure sounds like you need a day off to rest up for next week. I need to be careful about my vacation usage until DD's graduation or I would definitely be taking a day off this week too :goodvibes Too many meetings this week . . .

Goog thing you don't have to do that cross-u stuff any more. It probably is more fun for the newer staff.

I did leave work early last night to help a friend (Nab, it was my friend Debbie who you met) pick out new countertop and living room/dining room/kitchen paint colors since she didn't like what she had picked. Hope she likes the colors I helped pick out.

Nabbie, I hope you are having success choosing things for your new kitchen. I'm still pretty happy with my bathroom remodel more than one year after having it done. When I went to the countertop place with Debbie last night, it sure made me think about what color I would choose when I have my kitchen counters redone. Sooooo many choices!

Lynette, you're killing me! Two bingos plus other big scores :worship: And I've got nothing. Yet again. :sad2:

bbn, glad you're having fun during spring break!!!!!!!

I was right about all the yakking at work about MSU this week . . .

Marita, Goog thing you don't have to do that cross-u stuff any more. It probably is more fun for the newer staff.

I think the worst cross-u shift I ever had was at Pecos Bill's. It started off well enough. Refill the napikins, condiments, forks, etc. Cushy job, I thought.
But then it got crazy. I could NOT keep up! I had 3 or 4 stations to keep stocked. Crazy toursts kept takng thngs! It was horrible!:scared: and how do you refill the ketchup thing? I had to try to hunt someone down! And people kept making messes!

I technically am still supposed to sign up for shifts but I don't, and so far nobody qustioned me on it, and if they do, I will give them my 2 cents worth on that subject.

Oh, another favorite was wiping down tables and sweeping up in Fantasyland. I got sick from the heat.

And other one. working way back when during cast member holiday party (back when we had those). Working the ice cream parlor on Main Street. It was FREEZING outside and people lined up with no end for ice cream!

Do you know how hard it is to scoop ice cream? Frigging crazy hard, I tell you! Kills your hand! And the line was non-stop!

Marita, you have such great Disney-related stories!

BTW, I don't think I'll ever eat at Pecos Bill's again. Once was enough.

:lmao:

It was way just too crowded and noisy and difficult to find a place to sit when we ate there.

Howdy Moovers!!! It's been crazy here lately. I missed posting here on Nab's birthday so Happy Belated Birthday NAB! and I may or may not have barely made Lil' G's birthday so Happy Birthday (or not), Lil' G!

I was at my parents house Sunday afternoon and my mother passed on two free tickets to the Arena Football League's Kansas City Brigade home opener last night to me. By Sunday evening, I had lost them! They were nowhere to be found in my home, my wife's Explorer (which is what we drove on Sunday), nor in my Taurus (I was thinking maybe I had put them in there to make sure I would have them on Monday). The problem was I had already told Joseph, DS10, that he would be going to the game, which would also be his first visit to our new Sprint Center which just opened last Fall.

Frustrated, I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I was going to be buying two tickets of a fairly decent quality (at a corresponding price) to replace the free ones I lost. Then an idea occurred to me and I wrote and sent out a group email to five friends that I knew had a pair of tickets at one time and probably would not be using them if they still had them. Before I left for work Monday morning, I had two responses back offering me their two SUITE tickets plus their PARKING PASS so I ended up with four Suite tickets and two parking passes, all at no cost.

So, my sister took DS10 to the full game with one pair and Jeffrey, DS12, and I made it to the game at halftime with the second pair. Everything ended up working out even better than it initially was going to be. :thumbsup2

Rob....My DS is a bad worship service boy too. I went to Sunday school by myself yesterday.
Must be the age Melinda. He used to be so good in the adult worship service (when he was under 2  ).

I had to go out and clean off the satellite dish off. I was freaking that I wouldn't be able to watch all my shows tonight. :happytv:
I have been out three times cleaning off that darn dish. I can barely reach it with the broom. The neighbours probably think I am nuts....:lmao:
Nab, we get that fun sometimes also and I remember the struggle with trying to reach it in my last house. When we had our current house built, I specifically had the satellite dish installed within two feet of our upstairs deck, right off of the master bedroom, so that it could easily be reached.

Hope the diet chow slims Megara down. We had a pudgy dog and the poor guy ended up with diabetes. Talk about an arm and a leg in pet costs :scared:
Ouch Moo! I am going to ask the vet about diabetes in our 7-year old Golden when we take her in for her annual checkup in April or May. She is not fat, not at all, but she drinks an amazing amount of water -- probably something like two to three gallons a day (although DW says she -- the dog that is, not DW -- drools out half of it all over the floor).

1. Sounds like your kids are having a great spring break, E! :thumbsup2
2. Of course, Ethan and RonStoppable are the only two other people in the bracket pool with her.

Loving your stories Marita! You're killing me. Question for you: Do you have to do "Food Service" or whatever Disney calls their restaurants?

BTW, I don't think I'll ever eat at Pecos Bill's again. Once was enough.
Awwww. I love Pecos Bill's!

Thanks for clarifyin' very BBNlike of you.

1. Yes it does. I am a terrible mother. We did things like laundry and vacuuming and I may have told at least one child per day that their entertainment was not my problem.
2. We shoulda had a moovers bracket showdown. :headache: Remind me next year. My husband's work has a interesting way to score them... if you pick an upset you get however many points that game was worth PLUS a bonus based on the seed number difference. :teacher: I like it. It appeals to my inner geek.

Hi Moo~ :) Hi Marita:) your post about the crazy ketchup eating tourists
reminds me about what you hear teachers say a lot- we love school when the students are not there ;)

News from the prairie: I turned my back on the laundry for a couple of days:scared: , Grasshopper has a fever  Goldenchild is just as much as a ninja as everpirate: the Twinkertwins started a ballet classprincess: princess: and our oldest brought home all the paperwork to register for classes for next year. I had my head in the sand because 9th grade is physically in the Junior High but seeing the course book and the graduation requirements and thinking of choosing an elective concentration made feel old. Just yesterday I was taking this child to DisneyWorld for the first time and tonight we were discussing which math classes would best prepare him for the AP tests. WAAAAAAAh!

GOOG MORNING! :sunny:

Not much news to report here unless you call DH's almost-hernia quality muscle tear. Now he has to take it easy or else it will actually become a full blown hernia. :sad2: I have to say I'm surprised. The man has been lifting/carrying twice his body weight his whole life. Maybe it's time to slow down.

Also we are enjoying Netflix. Did I mentioned they have 7,000 movies that you can watch for free online? DDs watched The Swan Princess and DS watched a Pokemon movie. You take a little quiz and they give you some movie previews of some movies you might like. I think I watched those for an hour last night. And my movie queue is now up to almost 90 movies.

Marita....I'd rather be filling the ketchup at Pecos Bill's than doing accounting any day of the week. BTW...I want another 68 degree day! :sad1: DS got a new student in his class yesterday from FLORIDA! What are these crazy people doing moving from FL to KY??? I just want to move to FL!

Twink.....Awwww....making out the HS schedule! We have to take math placement tests here. The kids don't get a choice on which math they take. Also Emily signed up for Latin! Which was the downfall (grade-wise) of Mimi. I'm putting Emily back in French 1 and taking Latin off the schedule. Not being mean but she is not gifted in languages and you MUST complete two years of whichever language you choose. At least I can help(ish) with French.

Rob....YAY on the bonus ticket score! That's awesome!

NAB....I would love to have my kitchen redone but would dread the *no-kitchen* time while it's being completed. Did they give you a time estimate? I would choose pale yellow painted cabinets and white-ish Corian with an integrated sink.

BNCG....Sounds like the best Spring Break ever! Was it warm enough to go to the zoo? DS has never been to the Loo-uh-vull zoo. I've been thinking of taking him. He loves the critters.

Celery....Wassup in Billings?

Moo, Pumba, Lil G, everybody.........:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY!

morning morning morning.........the sun is out and what snow that came down is sitting right there melting.......so hubby said last night that the snow could rot....you know how we all feel about the upteenth million flake that has graced us this year......I HATE the stuff....

Our governor asked for the HS not to penalize us Mainers because we arent going to do that REAL ID......it would cost Maine another 185 million and that is wrong.......the state already is cutting back on Education and also the health of the elderly and poor......what more can we do.....

Megara and I slept in this morning.......oh the joy.....she was laying up against me .....all 71 lbs of her snoring her little (well to me) heart out......I said OY OY OY....lets get up and eat......

There is this song that is stuck in my head...well the tune .....It was on Sound Of Music that I watched twice last weekend......It is the song that she does with the kids and puppets......IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS......maybe I should put in the Off Kilter music or the Eagles or Meatloaf......SOMETHING.....YIKES.

Hope you all have a great start to a beautiful day.....

babycow - much tuxlove to you! I need to take the chocolate bunny out of my signature, but it makes me laugh.

What, you didn't like the way I refilled the ketchup?
:lmao:

Just yesterday I was taking this child to DisneyWorld for the first time and tonight we were discussing which math classes would best prepare him for the AP tests. WAAAAAAAh!

I would love to have my kitchen redone but would dread the *no-kitchen* time while it's being completed.
I know! Who would bake the 45,675 quiches you need for chuch!!!!! ;) Billings is good. They have a lot of Indian casinos. I spent 24 bucks last night for 2 hours of entertainment and three beers (beers are free).
WT would be sorta proud.
the state already is cutting back on Education and also the health of the elderly and poor......what more can we do.....
For real! Mainecare sucks! They've messed up our claims for 3 years now!!!!

Nab - new kitchen sounds like so much fun!

Hi to everyone else!!!

Pumba -- are you trying to get that song in our heads now....:lmao:

Marita-- your stories are pretty funny. I like Pecos Bills too. But it is hard to get a seat. You have to be like the birds there hoover over tables until you think someone is leaving and pounce....

Lexi-- I light yellow kitchen sounds lovely. I am going for the dark rich look though, I just had a some what country kitchen and want a sleek traditional look one now. They say it will take 4 to 6 weeks to do it all. The counter tops will be last but will be able to put stuff back in the new cabinets and they will give me plywood counters and a roughed in sink to use . The counter top takes 3 weeks to get. Don't really know how I will cook and make lunches in the mean time. The fridge will be in the living room I think.

Celery -- are you still on the road or home now?

I just got back from the school , they had another Learning assembly and both kids got awards today. I knew Hannah was getting one that is why I went but Nicholas got one too. They loved surprises and so do I ....it was a proud Momma moment.

Where is PJ at? Did she go somewhere for spring break?

I'm mad at the AP disney site.
It won't let me on., :(
I'm trying to price a 2 night stay at pop so Moo can have magical express.
I can price it at the regular rate (TOO HIGH! ACK!).
I need Marita's discount.
MARITA!
How much?
and are you going to see us?

and pumba - what are your dates this time?

I think I'll be there from the 9th to the 16th.
of May for all stalkers.

I think I have been there. I know I have been in Montana....

Well you just keep that snow in the West. We have had enough. Today is beautiful and the snow is melting.

How long will you be there for? Maybe you will get snowed in.
