It should be interesting to see what plans she has for her Master's degree graduation - we'll probably roast in NC

A word to the wise: she should check the graduation calendars for all three area schools- they often are the same weekend which means every decent restaurant for MILES is booked... or running very slow. If you have a mass graduation and departmental ceremony often you only have a couple of hours for lunch- and so does everyone else in the Triangle. Gridlock for reals. I always just got a nice deli tray and had everyone meet at my apartment. May could be lovely or roasting. I always wore a sundress under my acetate-gown-of-heat-prostration.

My little sister just called me crying. Her bff got a speeding ticket while she was in the car with her so now both girls will not be allowed to go on Spring Break together. I feel really bad for her. Seems a bit harsh on the part of the parents if you ask me.

PJ- I am so sorry your lil' sis is upset and I am glad she goes to you with her troubles. However, as the parents of someone soon to be driving age, we have predetermined to come down VERY HARD on the first speeding ticket or other major driving goof. Safe driving is no joke. I lost my BFF in a car accident (she was 16 and driving the car and probably not speeding).

Oh and it's "Down and Derby" central at our house. OMGosh. They're at the sanding stage. You should see the chaos!

I hate the Pinewood Derby. I have never said that outloud of course. Shh! don't tell anyone- I feed my kids poptarts so this is strike two.

Am I missing something Lynette? Why can't you just pick up a pup (or chick or kid -- i.e., goat baby, not human child -- or calf or piglet or lamb) while you're at the Crazynurse Ranch? No cockers there?

Ha! I totally didn't get the reason for lemon and chocolate cupcakes. I was thinking wow- lemon is an odd choice for a little kid.

I am also glad that I don't have another kid party till May. They are hard work.

Marita you were so lucky with the swim suit........when I put my favorite one on a month ago......I heard the dreaded crackle crackle and ripppppppppp....a horrible noise for sure...it was a nice one too...but I had the bigger ones that are still a go but not my favorite ones.....so this LOUD one I got is fine I guess......showed my daughter and granddaughter and I heard my gd say YIKES......hahahah
Hubby made breakfast this morning.......bacon and eggs and toast and coffee...what more can a woman ask for......he has taken good care of me this past week.....asked him if he was coming to bed tonight with me......and then I started the COUGH.....we have that water bed ....and I cough and the bed jiggles.....

we had rain last night and hope for more rain so that the roofs in our area can get rid of the snow and ice buildup....alot of places are caving in ....scarey.......

It's a Transformers "Friend" Birthday. We were at the Walmart (In Utah we use the word "the" unnecessarily) to get the ice cream and balloons and he changed his mind. At the very last minute. How could I say no to that face??

40 were invited. 50-100 boys and girls are in my house right now. help!!!!
It's just starting...I hope you all saved room for SpongeBo

Yay about the puppy Snarkgirl. All kids should have a puppy, it's a rite of passage or sumpthn.

Marita: The bathing suit is holding up and all the elastic is intact. This is a very good thing.

Nab and Cel: We got a bunch of snow too. 12-15 inches depending on where you live. It was a BLAST driving into work at 5:30 this morning. Unfortunately there was a sheet of ice under the snow too, so the roads were really slick and it took me over an hour to get there. But at least I'm not in the ER with a hurt kid like I was this time last Saturday.

EEk! ACK even! my least favoite day of the year I hate losing an hour on a Sunday.
Then again, I like the following Monday.

Uma, sounds like a great birthday party!

So I pulled myself up by the bootstraps (or whatever) and ventured out. Bought some shorts and sunglasses. Looked at shoes in a couple of places, but nothing that excited me, so I am sticking with what I have.

Then I finally went grocery shopping for the things that have been on my list for 3 weeks. And I was hungry, you know what that means! I spent $140 for I dont even know what, some stroganoff things, sour cream, stew meat, odds and ends. Of course wrinkle cream alone was $20! And I bought hair color (chore for tomorrow, ACK!)

Got a small order of McD's fries on the way home to tide me over.
I'll make something decent later tonight. (decent is a relative term. It might involve an Oscar Mayer Wiener OR some noodles stroganoff with bisquits, or something completely dfferent but equally not nutritious (sP)

Oh, and I got the shorts in size 10. DS looked at them and said, you are NOT a size 10! (meaning they are too big). I said yes I am, on the bottom. He said NOOOOOO.
So after he left, I tried them on. Yep, size 10 is perfect!!!!!

It is still snowing. And really big flakes now too. I just came in from shoveling but it is a lost cause. I can't believe the snow drifts too. I open the door to go out and there is a foot of snow standing there where the door was.

Babynurse -- I think you should stay in tonight if the roads are bad.

Nabbie, that sounds like some aweful weather!, BRRRR!! I can't say I ever shoveled snow (I don't know why not), but I remember scraping ice off the windshield in the moring. NOT FUN!

Kind if cool here today too. I have been watching the weather in Nassau the last few days, and it is mostly about the same as here. So I thought, we probably should bring a sweater, it could get very cool on deck or the verandah.

Gotta start packing tomorrow!
