MOOved Along . . .

For those of you who frequent the Peeps board, this story will rival the Trixie locking me out of my car story. ;)

Well, remember the "girls weekend" I went on last weekend with my mom, sisters, etc. Well it lasted a little longer than anticipated. :rotfl: Let me start at the beginning.

I come in from my morning walk of Friday to meet DS coming down the stairs telling me that something is wrong with his eye. His eyelid is red and totally swollen. Ok, now I am Tminus 6 hours from leaving on my trip. :scared1: So, I tell him that we have to get him to the DR that AM because he was also going on a separate trip with my friends to the other side of TN. Well, I was able to get him in, but we had to go to preschool first because they needed help unloading since that big storm was a coming, and I am the only extra kid unloader on Fridays. So we go to the church, help unload the kids, then scoot on to the DR before the bottom falls out.

We get to the DR and DS has a sty in his eye. Nothing big, but is given drops to keep his eye from getting infected since he is going out of town with grownups who aren't his parents, but are the next best thing. ;)

Well, DH calls and tells DS that he will pick him up from preschool and take him to lunch since the DR gave him a nice note that excused him from school on Friday. Well, when DH comes and picks him up, he looks at my tires. He calls me on my cell, while I'm taking the two year olds to go potty;) , and tells me that something is wrong with one of my tires, and I MUST have it seen about before leaving town.

Well, as soon as the last kid was loaded up, I was outta there. Praying all the way to the tire store that it would hold together til I got there. I tell the man that my tire needs to be looked at because it is low. He looks and there is a nice large screw in my tire. He told me that he could patch it, and it should only take about 25 minutes. Ok, that's not too bad. I'm only about 45 min. behind schedule.

I call DH and tell him to check DD out of school and go take her shopping for snacks for our trip. I knew it was close to the time I told her that I would be checking her out, and she would FREAK if I wasn't there. Plus, it would buy some time. :thumbsup2 I get my tire fixed get to the bank, get gas, and buy my goodies, and get home.

We get on the road, and we were only about 1 1/2 hours behind, not bad. I call my SIL to tell her because my mom would worry if I told her. :rolleyes1 So, we were on the road. It was actually a blessing in disguise because that extra time gave all the rain time to move on, and we waved at CEL as we passed by :wave2: and had a nice trip.....UNTIL......

I get within a half mile of my destination, and a GOOSE flew into my windshield, and shattered it like a spider web! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: I was not going fast because I had actually slowed down to look at the name of the road where I needed to turn. I saw his friend first, and he cleared my SUV (aka boat on wheels), but his friend obviously didn't stay in formation because he met my windshield right smack in the middle.

So needless to say we were a bit shaken, but I kept driving because it was getting close to dark, and I wanted to be able to survey the damage at our destination. I knew there was nothing we could do about it Friday night because all the local shops were closed. I was here to visit with my family, and I wasn't going to let it ruin our weekend, but I was worried about what to do. Well, it was still sprinkling a little, and my sister was at WalMart, so I called her and told her to get me a tarp. When she got back, I covered my windshield with the tarp and secured it by shutting it into the front doors. That's the redneck way to tie a tarp down. :thumbsup2

So, I get up Saturday morning, and start calling all 4 places (:lmao:) listed in the local yellow pages. Guess what? No one answered. :sad2: So, I go to my car, and get out my local (AL) yellow pages that I keep in my car. I call places that say they are nationwide, and have 1-800 numbers. :thumbsup2 My husband had told me a ball park figure for the cost of a windshield that he had received on Friday night. I got someone to give me a decent price, and they could fix me MONDAY morning. But we were supposed to be out of our place on SUNDAY. Luckily, there had been a nice new looking hotel at the exit where I got off onto that horrible stretch of road. They could put me and DD up for the night. :thumbsup2

So, the nice windshield man came to the hotel bright and early Monday morning and fixed my windshield. :goodvibes We got on the road by lunchtime, waved to CEL again. :wave2: and got home in time for DD to practice her piano, and get to her softball game. WHEW what a weekend! :faint:

But, on a serious note, I came home to find out that my neighbor's 17 yo son has been missing since Saturday. Please send some pixie dust, and prayers their way. I can't imagine what they are going through right now. Please pray that he comes back home safely.

Yikes, Allie! Glad you are okay after your kamikaze goose encounter!

Sending pixie dust for your neighbor's son too.

Where is Moo tonight? I have played my turns at Scrabble, and now all my opponents are MIA. What gives? :confused3

Well, I guess I'll get myself to bed early tonight (for once!). See y'all tomorrow!

Holy Crap!!! That is the best story ever!

Did it scare the bejeepers out of you??? I've had a little normal bird crash into my windshield before. I about had a heart attack...but a GOOSE?

It was a goose suicide.

Glad it all worked out.

Sorry about your neighbor's son! That's my biggest fear.

Give me a minute. I'm "working on it".... ;) (prepare to be wow'd)

WOW, Aliie, that was quite an adventure :scared1: I think I would be scarred for life if a GOOSE flew into my windshield!!!!

Glad you made it there and back safe and sound.

Howdy!!! And YIKES, what a posting frenzy!

I got in late because I had dinner with some friends tonight (uncharacteristically on a work night, but they are off part of this week for Spring Break)!

That makes us Michigan people not look so strange.
:rotfl:

Now I feel old. Whatever happened to expressing your undying devotion with a nice mix tape?
I LOLed over your comment about no longer having a way to play an old mix tape. Progress. Bah!

3. I have some pictures of that meet. But if I had any sort of double chin action going on, they are in the bloopers. With the fat butt pictures or fork going into mouth pictures. :cool2:
Bless you, Wendy! I'm sure I looked horrible in those pics. It was SO hot sitting there in the sun!!!!! My hubby was smart to sit in the shade

Well we never made it out of town. Last week Ethan came down with a rash.
Ohhhhh, noooooo!!!!!!!! Hope you're able to get his and Isaac's rash cleared up soon :grouphug:

BUT the best adicals where the ones for Happy Hineys cloth diapers. :rotfl2: I thought of you Moo! Little junior executives who will someday use the HineyHider brand of bathroom stalls.

But wait!!!! On the very next page was an ad for (and I swear I couldn't make this stuff up) Hooter Hiders nursing mama's coverups.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
OMG!!!!!!!!!

Too funny, Twink!!!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Tonight's the night I finally record the podcast. I'll have a link when it's up.
Cool! :thumbsup2

I had a DIS visit today, though. Y'all know Winkers? She has a pretrip going on right now. She's surprising her kids with a WDW trip on the 28th.
You actually got to visit with Winkers? That's great :)

Wendy, I can't believe you've never seen Field of Dreams :confused3 That's a sportsish movie that even I like!

Job search/interview update whether you care or not:
North Carolina: offered me a contract on the spot. I said I need time to think about it.

Virginia: offered me a contract on the spot. Turned it down. It's not the right school for me.

Nashville#1: paying for me to come see the school and have a second interview.

Nashville#2: paying for me to come see the school and have a second interview.

LooUhVuhl: paying for me to come have an interview.

None of my friends got offered contracts today. Just sayin.
WOO HOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Yikes, Allie! Glad you are okay after your kamikaze goose encounter!

Sending pixie dust for your neighbor's son too.

Where is Moo tonight? I have played my turns at Scrabble, and now all my opponents are MIA. What gives?
Allie, ditto on Lynette's comments on your rough day and neighbor's son

Lynette - I couldn't get into Facebook last night!!! I'm trying to figure out a word tonight

BBN - Another hi, howareya post that's all your own! :rolleyes1

Cel, when are you home? I got the all clear from hubby about flying home on Saturday. He doesn't mind picking me that night so I made my reservation

Ok, y'all. My TMJ (jaw joint right next to my left ear) is all out of wack.

I can't open my mouth very wide! How handy for dieting...jk.

So all day I've had soup and sugar free jello. I'm hungry and cranky.
Sorry you're hurting today Wendee! Since I'm your new BFF, you should have called and I could have pureed all your food. :)

Seriously? Is this really happening to me? Someone pinch me because I am having trouble coming to terms with the fact that I not only have to deal with your cereal postings on one thread but now on a second thread. :sad2: Please tell me this is all just a dreem.
First of all, you said we are no longer allowed to discuss cereal on that other thread.
Second, I was only discussing Special K and I was never allowed to discuss Special K with you.
Third, I got approval from TWO posters on this thread, so there!
Reason: Special K is on the approved list, I believe.
As long as it has the red berries.

For those of you who frequent the Peeps board, this story will rival the Trixie locking me out of my car story. ;)

Wow Allie! What a tale! Glad you're home safely.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Allie
....OMGosh! What a weekend! And to think I was worried about you driving in the rain?! Glad you and DD are OK. I'll be praying for the safe return of your neighbors' son.

Peej! Congratulations on all the sweet offers! How do you feel about moving? It will be mighty hard to stalk the babynurse from Nash Vegas? I guess you'll have to stalk celery and Miley instead. Also...how did Hollywood do in Tokyo? My friend at work told me yesterday that one of her daughter's friends just got hired as Ariel at WDW. How many Ariels are there?

Twinkie....I had Hooter Hiders! But strangely I called them *receiving blankets*? :confused3 Like Wendy, I could nurse while cooking dinner, cleaning house, doing laundry, and tending to other children. After a while you forget they're supposed to be *hidden*. And everybody at my house always had happy hineys with the store brand diapers. It's funny how they make the new moms think they NEEEED all that stuff. You really only need two things to start off....diapers and a car seat.

DTD....Podcast celebrity (and reel to reel mood tape maker)! Is it the DIS podcast? Give us the link! And DTD...I'm dying to know what was on the reel to reel mix? The Best of Bread? Carol King? Mama & the Poppas?

Monica.....Have a goog day today with no blow-out diapers or constant criers.

Wendeee......OOOooooo! TMJ! And the double whammie...complaining DH home for the day. Hope it's a better day today.

NAB, BNCG, Lynette, Moo, Rob, Cel, Pumba, MommyP, everybody.....:wave2:

Again I say.....where's Lil G?

Have a good almost-Friday! :flower3:

The cryer is on her 5 day week this week. She is still living up to her good given nickname.

The blowout kid happened again yesterday, but it was only starting to seep out of the top of the diaper. Right after I put on her clean jeans I had to wash because she "peejed" through earlier in the day.

It's almost the weekend and they are starting to pour in over here!

Later Gaters!

This is a post dedicated to peej.

WOO HOO! I knew you'd be the best twinkessori teacher ever!!!!!!
don't schedule the interviews for next week cuz I'll be gone!
or you can.
but I won't be around to think good thoughts.

allie - scary about the goose!!!!

moo - I'll be home tomorrow night I guess.

GOOD morning everyone......I am laughing about the exploding diaper and the non stop whiner crier.......sounds like what it was at my house a few years back....all the kiddos are now school age or moved.....I have carpal tunnel on my left hand from pulling back the side of a diaper....to get stuck with the front side......I went to the ORTHO doctor and that was what it was.....have to wear a brace that is more of a bother then a cure.....

SO I am sitting here in the sunbeam with the Meg......she loves her sunbeams..Hope you all have a great day

Allie...a goose???! Woah! Glad you guys are all okay. Praying for your neighbor's son.

Moo...thanks for all the pixie dust and the purple font to match my colored, scented resume. ;)

Rob...since you're a freak I guess you could check the tapes but I was under the distinct impression that I told you no more cereal at all. Ever. Not even Lucky Charm bikinis. Disclaimer: I'm not the one who thought of the Lucky Charm bikini in the first place.

Lexi
...Cel will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think NashVegas is still only about 2 hours from LooUhVuhl. Sounds stalking distance to me. :cool2: I'll ask Hollywood if she knows about how many Ariels there are. I know most of them only work in 2 places. Like Hollywood works in the grotto and Norway. So, there are Ariels at MGM, parades, Fantasmic, etc. There's got to be a ton of them!
Oh, and she was offered a 6 month position in Tokyo but turned it down. Maybe at a different time, she said.

Mony....watch it!!!! She POOJED her diaper. Not PEEJED it!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I am liking this new definition.

Cel...thanks for my very own post. Even though I'm not some kinda weirdo who demands it. I have learned to be content with my hotT college chick entity status. :snooty: And the interview isn't next week, don't worry, you'll still be able to stalk me.

Oh, and.....

GOOD MORNING, SUNSHINES!!!!

:cool1:

Goog Morning!!!!!!!!

I am totally itchy all over. I hate scabies. I'm sure I don't have it, I'm just imagining it. lol. Ethan is FINALLY looking better today! I slathered him down with lotion last night and this morning his crusted leg is much better and almost feels like skin again! Yay!

I forgot to mention yesterday that I found a rather large black widow in the corner next to the back door. (inside) Scary stuff.

Isaac is rolling from his back to his belly now. I wish they didn't have to grow up.

He still isn't sleeping through the night. This Mama is tired of that. All my other's slept through the night at 8 weeks. He usually gets up at 4:30, which I can deal with, but this morning he got up at 2. I guess he woke up and decided he wanted a little midnight snack. So I turned off the monitor. I woke up at 3 and turned it back on and he was sleeping. I done getting up in the middle of the night. I just quit. ;)

Allie - Scary about the Goose. One time a rather large water bird flew into my DH work truck window and shattered it. Freaky.

PJ - Congrats on your job offers!!

Well I heard some rather scary sounds coming from Isaac so I should go and change him before it's not in the diaper anymore.

Have a goog day everyone!!

I think NashVegas is still only about 2 hours from LooUhVuhl.
Brentwood to north of the river and mamacantfindya can only be two hours if you go 110mph the whole way. And maybe you do. But I'd say it's more like 3 since you have to go THRU Nashville and Loouhvull. You better start looking in Loouhvull or Etown or maybe Lexington to be within reasonable stalking distance.

Monica....All extremities crossed for less Poojing and Peejing today! :scared:

Celery! :wave2:

Pumba...I love me some sunbeams too! :)

Thanks for all the good thoughts! :goodvibes It was scary, but once we got over the scary we have done nothing but laugh because crazy things like this happen to me all the time. :lmao: I tell everyone that I'm genetically predisposed to having accidents. :lmao:

How about this, the lady who helped me get my new windshield, her name was Dory. It was meant to be! :thumbsup2 She also gave me a $30 discount without me even asking. :woohoo: She told me to go take my daughter out for a good dinner before we got locked up in that hotel room. She was definitely spreading some PD to me. :wizard:

Keep sending the good thoughts for my neighbor's son. He is still missing. :confused3

The blowout kid happened again yesterday, but it was only starting to seep out of the top of the diaper. Right after I put on her clean jeans I had to wash because she "peejed" through earlier in the day.
First she peejed through, then she poojed through.

Funny story about this word "pooj".

When Tim and I were dating, his roommate's girlfriend got him (the roommate not Tim) a bottle of Joop cologne. I hated that smell and she poured half the bottle over him one night and I had to deal with that. I kept calling him joop and he started calling me pooj, which is the reverse of the other obviously. That didn't last too long though.

To this day, I hate the smell of Joop.

Allie: Why did the sucker cross the road?
It was stuck to the goose!

And a baby! That helps too. :upsidedow

Rob...since you're a freak I guess you could check the tapes but I was under the distinct impression that I told you no more cereal at all. Ever. Not even Lucky Charm bikinis. Disclaimer: I'm not the one who thought of the Lucky Charm bikini in the first place.

Mony....watch it!!!! She POOJED her diaper. Not PEEJED it!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I am liking this new definition.
1. First, I wasn't really discussing it WITH YOU, was I? I was discussing it with Mon. Second, you asked for a list of topics to discuss and that was just a suggestion which leads me to the third point... Third, I didn't think of Lucky Charm bikinis either. I mean, really, how would that even work? Seems to me you would need some cereal with a hole in it, something like Froot Loops, Cheerios, Honeycomb, etc. to construct a proper bikini.

2. In my experience as a four-time diaper-changing father, usually a diaper that has been poojed in has also been peejed in.

Monica....All extremities crossed for less Poojing and Peejing today! :scared:

peej - what melinda said.
Not that I'm a stalker, but I think babycow is on the north side of Loo-uh-vul.
(I was in the atlanta airport Monday and some yahoo pronounced it "louie-ville" over the intercom. :sad2:)
The best twinkessori schools are going to be in south nashville (in MY county - not even really IN nashville).
So it'll be at least 3 hours to stalk the babycow.
but I think it's worth it.
especially if your sister goes to one of the schools in Nashville.
but I'm selfish and just want a diser close to me. hee.

sending :wizard: to allie's neighbor, the scary rash in MommyP's house and the general yuckiness in Utah.
:grouphug:
And mony gets her own special  for dealing with peej blowouts.
(once again, I'm glad for cyber hugs cuz I don't wanna be touching that stuff!)
