Never done MM. And I don't recall getting any email from DVC about such events.

1. When do they announce the dates? Do they announce it several times a year or just once? How do I find out (other than checking here or DVC sites often)?

2. What are the dates previously? Did they ever have one early April?

3. Must you have a DVC reservation when you register?

1. It’s been once a year for the past couple.
2. All current dates for this year are posted here and on the DVC site. No dates for next year are announced. Tough to speculate what they will be.
3. No. You have to have a resort stay. Not DVC villa, not on points. Any stay.

When does the e-mail typically come out? We are waiting for the Sept. 19th DHS invite and have yet to see it. I think it is the 30th of this month but no e-mail yet and yes we have a blue card..smjj

Going back to my email:
1. they sent an announcement of 2018 dates on 11.28.17, with all the dates.

2. March 21, April 17 and May 16 at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
(Booking begins for Members with Resort reservations on the event dates Feb 8. Pending availability, booking opens for all Members on Feb 22.)

3. Technically any onsite reservation will do but I've read reports that online registration did not work for some. Other comments in posts on this forum stated you needed a confirmation number beginning in 4.

Personal anecdote: I registered for the Typhoon Lagoon one during the general booking period but did not get an individual email for that event as we were booked at Universal. We are on-site for the October 3rd event and haven't received anything specific to the event. You must have a qualifying membership to reguister, if you have a blue card you're good to go.

We experienced longer waits at recent Epcot vs the first MK one this year.

Could’ve been that we did characters first at MK, then rode. At Epcot not of the characters drew our interest
