Hi..
Just found out there will be a Moonlight Magic event at EPCOT in Dec. during the week we're there. Does anyone know when they usually start taking reservations for these Moonlight events and how quickly they fill up?..just want to make sure to put a note in my calendar to remind me to check this event so I don't foreget...thanks

We are planning to go to the AK one in Sept and we have been told the tickets are released around 2 months ahead of the event.

Last years MK events were open for online booking from 60 - 90 days ahead of time.

The typhoon lagoon opened a little before my 60 day mark and I got an email inviting me since I already have a trip booked during one of those dates.
I just got off with DVC and in the "waiting music" time there was an announcement that it is sold out.

I'm planning on going in December and apparently MANY other DVC members are as well. I called to book 2 studios yesterday and there is NOTHING on property at all for December 3rd or 4th. Ended up with a 2 BR at Saratoga. Now I have to hope I find out asap so I don't get closed out of the DVC event.

AFAIK, even off site guests had time to register before the Moonlight events sold out. At least that was true for both this year's MK events and the upcoming Typhoon Lagoon events.

I know it is a bit stressful to wait if you are not an on-site guest - I was off site for the MK event and worried it wouldn't be available when I could register. I worried for nothing - it remained open for at least a week after registration opened, and those of us "on the boards" had plenty of notice about the registration dates before they opened. (Lots of time to worry needlessly if you were off site. Those events hold a LOT of people).

Hope your waitlist works - I'd rather be on site than off, no matter when I visit. :)

Dec is popular and books up fast but DVC is designed to be full year round and as one gets closer to the check in dates at most times of the year it's difficult to find any rooms. So theoretically there shouldn't be more there in Dec for this event than there was for the MK events in Feb/March. One thing is that they actually did give a lot of planning time for this event vs others but others took weeks to book up and they accommodate a lot of members so I'm still not expecting difficulty in getting in if you book early.

We were fortunate to go to the Magic Kingdom one in March... it was great! But we lucked out as we were already booked for a trip at that time. When I found out about it, I went on first thing that morning and got in. I know it did take a while to fill up. That's why I'm here on DisBoards because I'll probably find out first on here about December opening than I will through DVC! :)

I am hoping to go to the one in September. We will have a non-DVC guest with us. Will she be allowed to join us (2 DVC members)? Also, anyone heard exactly what will be available for AK event? Rivers of Light, night safari, Pandora, etc?

Members have been allowed to bring guests to all of the previous Moonlight Magic Events.

No word yet. Last year for the Safari they passed out paper fastpass tickets as you entered the park. They also gave out 2 coupons (per person) for the games in Dinoland. The Festival of the Lion King was not available last year, and I don't expect it will be this year.

We brought our son and one of his roommates to the AK event last September. We were staying at OKW in a studio and were limited to four persons.

When I called Member Services inquiring about the Sept AK Moonlight Magic event, I was told I would be able reserve spots for as many people that were on our reservation.
