My dd6 has been so moody lately. She gets upset over nothing and pouts. She is about to drive me NUTS! :scared1: And don't even think about picking with her at all, these are things that never bothered her before. Is this hormones already? Geesh, I hate to think what she is going to be like as a teenager.:scared:

Do any of your young girls act this way? TIA!

I don't remember this, but my mother says that I was awful as an 8 year-old. I doubt that it was hormones, because I was fine as a teen. I also had a coworker who had real moodiness problems with her son around this general age.

my 7 yr old is like this..............drives me bonkers.

Everything is a big ordeal
Me: Go get your dirty clothes and bring them in the laundry room
DD:Why do you make me do everything? I always do everything around here...you dont do anything sigh sigh sigh
Me: If you want clean clothes , bring your dirty ones in the laundry room
DD: sigh, then stomps off

I hope it gets better for us all soon

Geez, my son (10) is doing this and I told DH it has to be hormones because he has never been like this before.

If it is certain at times a day it could be blood sugar dropping or her being over tired. When my youngest DD gets moody a snack helps. I know its her blood sugar dropping. popcorn::

My 7yr. old Dd is so moody we call her Sybil.
Sorry, I don't have any advice, we're just hoping it's a phase!

Well glad to know that it's not just her. The blood sugar dropping is interesting. I will have to pay closer attention if it's around the same time everyday. I hope this moodiness doesn't last too long for any of us.

If you think they are tough at 6, wait ten years. :scared1: :teeth:

I think that they are testing the waters and their limits.

What can they get away with saying. Hold firm and say "Don't speak to an adult in that manner" or "Don't talk back".

What can they get away with not doing. If they do not do what they are told, are there consequences. Don't just do it for them.

DD is 9 and I have been being tested since I joined the family when she was 2.5. Her new thing is the look. When I tell her to do something and she doesn't like what I told her to do, I get the look.

Then I find my voice saying exactly what my mother used to say when I gave the look.

9DD has been in a mood all day. She gets one on occasion (Of course most of us do)
I really think it is hormones with her.

That is my issue with DD8 as well..A nice fruit snack, and we can all look at each other again.;)

you have forgotten one important thing in your descriptions -

the eye rolls~ DD 10 years old has them done to a science:lmao:

That is what I call the look.

When my Dd's were 6 or 7 they'd get like this right before a growth spurt. By 10 it was just attitude and I'd love to knock it right out of them.:sad2:

Wow, I was seriously thinking of starting a similar thread tonight. My dd9, is getting impossible! I love her dearly, and she really is a sweetheart....Except when she is po'd. She flies off the handle over every little thing lately.

Just a few minutes ago she went off over a blanket. A BLANKET! She told me she was a bit chilly ( I had just put her to bed), I got her another blanket and she is furious! :rotfl2: Its not funny, but honestly, wth???

No, she doesnt want that blanket on her bed, she is fine and would I please just leave her alone:headache: :headache: .

I thought of the hormonal thing but she is showing no physical signs of puberty. Any advice how long this is going to go on? Will it get worse before it gets better? What is happening to my sweetheart?????:confused3

Same thing with my 6 year old. Last night, he fought over what pencil he used for his homework. :upsidedow
