Montreal airport experience?

Anyone have any experience with the Montreal airport? We are planning to fly from USA to Halifax, NS and will likely transfer in Montreal. So I think that means we'll go through Canadian customs in Montreal on the way there, and US customs in Montreal on the way home. Wondering how much time I need to allow for that. The flight I want out gives us almost 2 hours connection, the return flight I want is only 1hr 15min, but I'm thinking it's doable. We will only have carry on luggage, nothing checked.

2 hrs is plenty of time, yes, you will be clearing customs here in Montreal
Not saying you have time to watch a movie, but providing all is on time, you should not have to run/race at all.

I'm guessing Montreal works the same way as Vancouver. I was there in October. They had a kiosk that scanned your passport and you had a answer a few questions. It printed a slip you handed to customs while walk out. Took 10 minutes tops. No lines.

Montreal arrivals isn't much of a problem, though the walk through intl. arrivals is LONG.

US customs at departure, however, can be really, really, slow. We accidentally arrived at the airport with a 3 hour window, and we needed every minute of it to get through US customs on a Tuesday in summer (mid-afternoon). 2 members of our party had Global Entry; they got through about an hour faster than the rest of us.
