I got my 18 in yesterday. Thankfully the temps cooled down some from what we did have and the humidity wasn't too bad. I am happy to say I am not sore today so that is a good sign for the Goofy - I was praying my achilles wouldn't be bothering me when I got out of bed this morning and YEAH they weren't. Sometimes after long runs my achillies don't feel right first thing when I get up. Since they felt fine this morning I am hoping that is a good sign for January since I can't have my achillies popping the morning of the full.
My plan in the next couple weeks is to definately get in a 14 miler next Sunday and maybe a 4 miler on Saturday with my niece. Then the next weekend I want to do a back to back 10 miler and then 20 miler (20 on the 20th - LOL) and then at least a 12 miler and the weekend before the races a back to back 6 and 8. Feeling more confident about this thing than I was a few weeks ago. Its not long now and it will be here.

I am so sorry. Hope you can get your heart into training in the crunch time.
I did keep my "I WILL make it" attitude though and was happy to finish. Time was awful, but for teh conditions, I am just happy we finished.
I'll probably stay indoors and run 3 miles on the dreadmill tomorrow evening after training.
There where some runners waiting for the toilets and they came running to pick me back up, first aid also came over and wanted to look at my arm as it was bleeding but I said no. I was more worried that I was going to get told off by the team director as I was not wearing my helmet at the time.

Did 15/1 intervals and think I'll probably stick with that for the January race - I'm hoping those will hit the water stops, we'll see!
