DH - Hasn't been to Disney in 20 yrs!
DS (6) and DD (3) - 1st trip to Disney!

Day 2 - EE MK and CRT!

OK, woke up, looked at the clock 4:30am!!!! EEK! It's still dark out, so I run to the balcony, sure enough, the Castle is still lit! Oh, the Magic of Disney, it was beautiful. I did a couple of neck stretches, man those pillows are horrible! And it's such a shame b/c the beds are very comfy! Kids and DH are snoring away. I putzed around and waited for the 6am wake-up call. DS woke up to the ring and picked up the phone. Oh, I wish I video-taped his face when he realized Mickey was waking us up! Priceless! Woke up rest of troops. Showered, changed and ran down to RF for coffee (in our refillable mugs of course! ;) ) and some fruit and cereal. I had already bought some milk and yogurt at the grocery stop. These were just fillers. Ran up and had a quick breakfast. Got kids ready and ran to boat dock for 1st boat at 7:30. Caught it .. YIPPEE!

Got to MK for EE. It was awesome. We walked on all rides. We did Fantasyland first, Small World (that song just goes right thru me, but the kids loved it!), Peter Pan (great ride, one of my faves!), Pooh (DD was bouncing in her seat!), Dumbo (again!) and Tea Cups! Oh, I am kind of reluctant to tell you guys that the Tea Cups almost did me in. Talk about nauseous! My family was laughing at me... real nice, right? Anyway, on to our PS for CRT!!

Oh, I forgot to tell you that DD was wearing her new Belle costume this whole time. She loved every minute of it and felt like a character going on rides! DS refused to wear anything! Got there 9:35 and they sat us at 9:40! We passed Fairy Godmother in the hall, but they said she will be there all morning. So, we went up the LLLLOOONNGGG staircase... caught my breath and sat down at a great table in the center against a railing. Great view of Dumbo ride outside the window. The food was fantastic... I actually decided to get the cold which was fruit, yogurt and some sort of granola with caramelized bananas on top... YUMMY! DH and kids had the hot plate which was yummy too. I stole a few bites from the plates.... hey a mom and wife should test her family's food, right? The characters were wonderful. They spent just enough time with each table.princess: There was Aladdin, Aurora, Snow White, Belle & Cinderella. Each commented on how beautiful DD looked and were calling her "Belle". She was loving every minute of it. Again, tears came to my eyes. DD loves princesses so much and at home she pretends her dolls are real... here she is now interacting with real life princesses! Oh, joy! DS was being shy areound the princesses especially b/c they were calling him "handsome" or "prince". But, secretly I think he loved it! After breakfast, we practically rolled down the steps to see Fairy Godmother. She probably had the best interaction with the kids. She was asking them about the rides they went on, she peeked at the other autographs and mentioned the characters the kids saw... and then after pictures, she gave each of them some "Fairy Dust". They were in heaven!

Then, on to DS' most requested ride that I had promised him after breakfast... yup, you guessed it Hall of Presidents! ;) What, strange for a 6 yr old to be requesting this attraction!? Not if this child has the biggest obsession, that's right, obsession of presidents. He must have about 25 books on them. Has been reading about them since he was 4 1/2!!!! Anyway, on to HOP. We got there a little early and no one was there yet, so he was pretending that the lobby was his museum and we video-taped him explaining each pic of president. He was having a ball. People were starting to line up, CM came by and asked an older boy a question, "What 4 Presidents were born in Massachussetts?" He didn't know, neither did the kid's dad... my son was itching to raise his hand....I told him to go ahead. He did and the CM said "OK, you try it out", DS rattled off "Adams, Quincy Adams, JFK and Bush". I heard gasps from people behind me. CM thought that we gave him answer, no way! Then, my DS, only 6 asked if he could switch places with CM to ask a question to the crowd! :teeth: CM agreed. DS asked "Where was Lyndon Johnson born?" No one knew and DS answered "(Some city), Texas". Again, more gasps from the crowd. CM was starting to get annoyed and tried to correct DS and said "Actually it was Johnson City, Texas". DS said that it was changed to that later! Anyway, time to see the attraction, which DS was in love with... wanted to do again! Oh, boy, please no! I promised another day. Sorry to ramble about my DS, but he is usually so shy and to see him feel proud about what he knows felt great to me!

We then went to Adventureland and did ALL of the rides! Never waiting more than 10 min for each! DD loved Magic Carpet ride and was singing "A Whole New World" while we were on it! Jungle Cruise was fun... the CM was full of cheesy jokes, even put a spotlight on himself at the end! I think his name was Andy and guess what, when we went back another day... had him again. SAME JOKES! AKKK!

Then took train to Toontown. It was a little crowded here. DS and DH did Barnstormer while I hung out with DD at Minnie's house. She loves the kitchen with the popcorn and deflating cake! Took an ice cream break and then went to Tomorrowland. We did everything there too. DH did Space Mountain and Astro Orbiters by himself. We all did the rest. My kids didn't enjoy Buzz Lightyear, go figure. I did!

Time to hop on Monorail for PS at Alfredo's in Italy. Oh, I neglected to tell you that all of this day and Day 1 was done WITHOUT A STROLLER! By now, I am not sure how my kids were standing! Decided to get a double b/c of long walk to Italy! Actually, we were able to catch that little ferry to Morocco and walked from there, not bad. Italy was great. My parents are from Italy so it was nice to talk to some of the CM's in Italian. They knew what part of Italy my family was from. (Oh, and a side note, for any single female DISers... cute waiters! ;) ) Anyway, the food was great. I had the Pasta Sampler, DH had the Gnocchi w/ Gorgonzola sauce and kids had Spaghetti. The appetizer before was ok. It was tomato and mozzarella, which was delicious, but with it was supposed to be sauteed EXOTIC mushrooms. What was on my plate was canned button mushrooms... I know the difference. I had to tell Marco our waiter. He agreed and gave us free antipasto! After dinner, the kids were exhausted, OK the adults too!

Took monorail back to MK and last boat home. What a day! Good night!

I want to try Italy on our next trip......sounds like I could handle that......thanks so much for your great day and all you did

Wow, your DS sounds absolutely fantastic - how neat! Maybe he'll grow up to enter politics someday!! I loved reading your report, and since we go next month, I am eating and sleeping these boards for my daily fix. I have a question for you: how did you get the Mickey wake up call? Did you ask for it when you checked in or call up each evening for the next morning?

My kids would love this...Thanks!

Melissa

Great trip so far....I can't believe how much your son knows about the presidents. You may possibly have a future president there. Looking forward to the rest of your reports. Thanks for sharing.

(Oh, and a side note, for any single female DISers... cute waiters! ;) ) [/B]

As a single DISer.. thank you very much for that tip. Making note on planner.. go to Italy for dinner.

Anyway.. your reports are great. I do not see how you did a whole day at MK with no stroller! Your DS sounds awesome. Send him over to teach my DD a thing or two.

I will be taking DD to WDW just before her 3rd bday. I am enjoying your reports to prepare myself.

Another great day. Your son has me beat on knowing info about the Presidents. I can't even recite all of there names. Sounds like you have either a future politician or a future journalist on your hands.

My moms parents are also from Italy so Alfredo's was nice but I wasnt tooo impressed wth the food. But it was probably what I got.

Your son is to cute. Never know, maybe he'll be president one day and have a lifelike statue in the HoP. Glad to see you had a great time.
