Monte Cristo at WDW?

I just read the Disney food blog from yesterday, and they discussed the two monte cristo sandwiches at DL. Can you get these anywhere at WDW? I have never seen them there, but did enjoy one when I was at DL 2 years ago. Are there any other unique foods that we can find at the WDW resorts?

I'm going to order Baklava French Toast at Kouzzina next month! It looks wonderful and sweet!

I couldn't find a monte cristo sandwich on a wdwinfo menu search.

There are plenty of restaurants at wdw that serve unique food items. I would suggest that you take a look at the various menus at allears.net.

Monte Cristos, virtually identical to those at DL, used to be available at the Columbia Harbour House back in the 80's. Then they were taken off the menu there but made available at the Hospitality House (now Tony's Town Square Cafe). Unfortunately they can no longer be found anywhere at WDW.

As another poster mentioned, the Croque Monsieur that is on the menu at Be Our Guest is not a Monte Cristo. Croque Monsieurs are great too, just not the same as a Monte Cristo.

I love Monte Cristos, but they are so hard to find!! You can always get the Croque Monsieur and sprinkle powder sugar on it and bring your own jam! :goodvibes

Chefs De France has a version of it for lunch...I am not sure if it is anything like what the OP is talking about (it reminds me of a Monte Cristo sandwich)...it is a warm ham and cheese sandwich, and it is very good too...one of my favorites :goodvibes.

Thank you for all the replies. I have had Croque Monsieur at Chefs De France. While it is very good, it is not donut like, which is how I would describe the Monte Cristo. I never knew that they had the sandwiches at CHH. But that is where I try to eat if I am at the MK.

"I'm going to order Baklava French Toast at Kouzzina next month! It looks wonderful and sweet!" Now that sounds like something I will need to look into:)

I will have to look at the link for favorite disney foods from the DIS. I spend most of my DIS time on the trip reports, resort and budget boards. But I knew those of you who spend time on this area of the DIS would be able to help me out. :surfweb:

The sandwich at Chefs de France is toasted, not deep fried.

You will not find the deep fried sandwich anywhere at WDW.

If you are looking for any WDW (or Disneyland) specific foods, this is a good site:

thank you, I have been checking up on the food blog site, I love the daily emails too!
