Monsters, Inc. May - move like Roz is watching challenge

Good Morning everyone!!

If you read my post right above this one - it's not much of a cliff-hanger. But YES!!! We did reach our goal and we're now sitting pretty at 26.02%!

Congratulations goes out this morning to :
figment 1990
roxymama

and a special congratulations to our first 50% Celia Purple go-getter!

I know that our board is going to contine to show it's purple pride as the week goes on!!

Have a lovely day, and keep an eye out for today's Monster's Inc. Disney Trivia.

Another 20 minutes of walking and 240 minutes for my last long training run with my group brings me to 625/1000! :cool2:

I'm feeling strong and ready for my race in two weeks!

Good luck to any of our Tinkerbell runners today! :tinker:

Can't wait to see our team numbers updated after all our active week-ends. :rainbow:

Happy Mother's Day to all our mothers on the team. :flower3:

pix13dust love all your pics and I can see leaves now! :cool2:

Great job on the long run!
I'm having such a hard time this go around on my half training. My legs always seem so tired and heavy!! Not sure what's different this time. My pace is about 2 minutes a mile slower too. I still have 8 weeks to train so hopefully things will improve.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there.
And yay team, way to get those minutes in!!
:jumping1:

337/1000. It's been a rough few days and haven't been able to get as much exercise in as I would like. It worries me about the next three weeks to come because those will be even busier at work. My husband made the mistake of asking me if I needed anything from Amazon, so I'm waiting now for my new Bob Harper dvd to arrive. Hope Jillian isn't mad about cheating on her haha.

300/930 burpees. Still on track.

Happy Monday. So many things to do...

First thing's first. Congratulations to LizardQueen 8 :sulley: - you are the winner of this week's bouncy Sulley head. According to the Monster's Inc trivia page okn IMDd:
It normally took 11 to 12 hours to render a single frame of Sulley because of his 2.3 million individually animated hair strands (Total number of hairs: 2,320,413). Crazy, huh???

Secondly - bigdave10000 - congratulations on your run. In your post you asked a very hard question, essentially, 'when will the running be reflected in the scale'. I'm not expert, but I have an answer that you may not love which is, "I don't know". But I want to caution you that every body is different, different genetic makeup, different metabolism rates, different gifts and different challenges. If you've read articles that say that some folks started running and they saw their bodies start to melt away almost instantly, good for them. But that isn't how my body works, and it might not me how yours works either. Just don't give up on yourself. I find that with running one of the hardest things (whether it's speed, distance or body composition) is to only compete against myself. Nearly every time I use someone else as a measuring stick, I get discouraged. Be patient, the rewards will come.

Others may have different ideas, but that's just my two cents.

Now back you our regularly secheduled program...

Congratulations goes out this morning to our newest color changers:

Keep up the good work. Our board is starting to show some purple and I bet we'll see a lot more as the week goes on and the minutes roll in!

323/900 Had my longest run in a long time this morning. 6 miles run/walk. Making good progress in just a few weeks. When does the weight start dropping off ? :)

It seems everyone's bodies are different. When I was training for Rebel Challenge & Glass Slipper - my weight wouldn't move at all - it just stayed what it was. There are some articles I've read at Runner's World that explain that as if you aren't eating right after you finish to help the recovery, your body won't respond how you liked it to be.

Good morning everyone! Just popping in to add my 35 min of running last night to my total.
270/700

Today is an off day for me. DS has a baseball game tonight but also, my body is really asking for rest. I think it's time for me to break out some new running shoes. If I can find them. Cleanin my closet was the one thin on my weekend list I didn't get to!

I love reading everyone's posts. Thanks for sharing!

And I have no clue about sulley but can't wait to hear the answer.

Oops- just refreshed and saw I missed it! That's a lot of hair!

Regarding running and losing weight. I find it so hard to lose weight no matter what exercise I'm doing (running, weight training, etc). The only time I manage to lose anything is when I'm very careful about my diet and recording my food. I read a good book called the runners diet, and it explains how to aim for 25% fat, 50% carbs and 25% protein in terms of grams (u figure this out based on your own weight and calorie needs). I've found that when I do achieve that, I feel less hungry am have more energy which does help w weight loss. The only other time I've found exercise to help me lose weight on its own without dieting is on a Disney vacation. I don't normally lose but I don't gain and considering the amount of food I eat on a Disney trip- it's obvious the excessive walking helps!

pix13dust, I hear you on the ups and downs of training. You are at a tough spot and I know that you will work through it and be ready to rock and roll in a few weeks when your race is here. You can do it! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I bolded something that was very well said by hmack about the importance you using no other measuring stick than that of improving yourself :cool2:

Kudos to everyone for the great activities and changing the colors in our numbers! :rainbow:
