Monster PIN - Why is Dec 5-11 excluded?

The filming ends on the 4th (the 5th if the weather is bad on the 4th). Historically, POP Warner has never impacted the parks and currently Touringplans doesn't rate any day that week above a 3 (two days are rated a 1). There's got to be some other reason!

It was the same way 2 years ago - couldn't get the FD offer until the Sunday after Pop Warner. We come in on the 10th so I'm looking for another discount for the first 2 nights.

Blame it on me since my B-day is during that time. I hope that they have some Free Dining (for Oct.) or other discounts for all the blackout dates. We got the Monster Pin but it is for a week later than when we are going.

That would be the reason. Seen this happen during past years too! No need for a discount if the resorts are filled. I'm sure there are some other activities too, but this is the big one. We were there last year at the BWV and there was some football event going on that weekend -- heisman awards and lots of football players there.....we've gone the first two weekend of December a couple of times and it's always been packed with either the taping, pop warner (and past years mousefest), and we have no plans to do it again, ever.

We were there at that time, LAST year.
MK was a mad house, when they filmed the XMAS PARADE. It was kinda cool to see all the lights and STARS, but crowded. Whatever you do, do NOT get in front of a CHEER MOM, they can get NAS-TEE. Well, some, anyway. I am a cheer mom, I know what I am saying here. LOL. It is a great time to go on the BIG rides...

The POP WARNER kids were not really that big of a problem...a few were out of control late at night, but not many. If you go on the popwarner site, you can see what hotels they will be at and then you can plan accordingly.
They usually book 1 VALUE and 1 MOD. There were none that I know of at POP, when we were there.

Where can you find the hotels Popwarner has blocked. I looked on their website but was unable to locate the information. We are going this week - is it crowded all week or just for the parade. I am not sure if we should change our dates.

We were there from the weekend after Thanksgiving into December, 14 nites, last year and it was also during Pop Warner but the discounts were good for that time period. I cannot believe that is the reason this year unless there was a huge baby boom about ten years ago or so that I do not know about.

I think they just do not want us to have a discount for the whole time if we go for an extended time. I feel unloved and unappreciated.

BTW, I would not mind paying full price for a few days but they want to give me 6 with discount and 8 without.

There's a big D23 event on the weekend of the 11th, but that probably doesn't account for that much of it. My friend is a TA and he told me the 12/11 is blacked out for no discounts at all, but that they weren't given any reason for it. I need a room that night to add to my week that's already booked. I'm probably going to rent DVC points.

I will say, we go every year during Pop Warner and it really only affects crowds the first day they come into down and the day the leave.

They usually block the All Stars, then one of the Port Orleans resorts (I think Riverside.) I stayed at Pop during Pop Warner last year and barely saw them in the parks. Just a few groups of them at night.

So AP holders usually get a discount on MVMCP tickets, except on those dates?

We were there last year from 11/28-12/6. Pop Warner dates were 12/6-12/12. The whole week was about 3's EXCEPT on the 5th. There was a 120 minute wait at Space Mountain at midnight. The park was PACKED that day. I'm pretty sure it was Pop Warner that caused that influx.

There is another pin out for the December dates that are not currently available for with the Monster pin. We booked Dec.8-Dec.15 at 40% off using a pin we received in Dec.09. So these dates have had a discount offer for a very long time, most likely that maybe part of the reason that it is not available with the Monster pin.
