Hello, my first post here, and first trip to disney world...
Anyway, my question is regarding transportation inside the theme parks. The use of the monorails and the boats, are they free to use or are they just for the guests who are staying on-site (which we are not). Or do we have to walk everywhere?

Within the theme parks is it possible to travel by monorail or boat to the next theme park.

Any information about this would be great....Thanks,

Also, keep in mind that the monrail, boats, and buses will transport you from park to park, but you must leave a park to get to another. The stops are outside of each parks gates. Also remember, that you must have a "park hopper" ticket to allow you to go from one park to another. This is an upcharge over the basic ticket.

Getting around WDW is very easy and you will get a ton of info here, as well as at some worthy web sites.

wdwinfo.com
allearsnet.com
magictrips.com
and there are many more. wdwinfo.com is the site associated to the DIS boards.... allearsnet.com is also an all encompassing source of info. Don't forget mousesavers.com for all of your discount code information.... to save some cash!

Have a wonderful trip!

While WDW may say that in their Birnbaums Guide has anyone ever seen them check to make sure you have a "park hopper ticket" when using their transportation no matter if it's a bus, monorail or ferry boat? My family and I a long with everyone else has never been asked to show anything when using Disney Transporation, even on busy days like Christmas Day and New Years Eve. Basically what I am saying is you will not be asked to show any tickets when using Disney Transporation no matter where you get on and get off at, so there is no need to worry.

Nobody said anything about needing a park hopper in order to use the transportation. Dudspizza mentioned the 'park hopper' so that the OP would realize that you couldn't just go from park to park with regular park media. Wouldn't want someone to think that a single park per day pass would get them into all the parks on that one day. That was his point.

The standing rule for transportation within WDW is that anyone having any type of park pass, no matter where they are staying, is welcome to use any and all of the WDW resort transportation. The only time one may be denied access is early in the morning at the TTC. If you can't show a resort ID, then you will not be allowed to use the transportation that early if it is an EMH day. You will have to wait until just before park opening before heading over. But that doesn't happen all that often, and I can't imagine that a non-resort guest is going to head over to the TTC at 7 am! It would be more likely that they would get there about 8ish.

Thank you, that is what I meant.... I know alot of the guides state a park hopper is required to ride Disney transport, but I have never, ever seen them check your ticket.
