I keep reading about how unreliable the monorails are. We're staying at BLT so thankfully we can walk to MK - but we do have ADR's at GF & Poly - is the resort monorail usually running? if it's not what is plan B to get to other monorail resorts? TIA!

The resort monorail should be running, except for some early mornings.

If the monorail is scheduled to be down for maintenance, there will be buses running amongst the monorail resorts in its place. If it goes down unexpectedly, Disney will try to get buses running, but it may take a while (15 or 20 minutes.)

From 30 minutes before MK opening until about 1 hour after closing, as an alternative you can walk to the MK and catch a boat to GF & Poly. These boats do not accommodate wheelchairs or unfolded strollers. They don't hold very many Guests, so there might be a bit of queue when the monorails are down.

You can also take the Ferryboat or Express Monorail from MK to TTC, and then walk to the resorts. Poly is an easy walk -- about the same as the walk from CR to MK. GF, I think, is at least a mile walk.

By giving yourself an appropriate amount of time between the Monorail stop in the Contemporary and the Poly and GF, there should be no problem. After all, you are on "Disney time," which means slow down, take it easy, and enjoy being there!
