When we leave magic kingdom on the monorail, has anyone just stayed on longer to see the fireworks.

I find the monorail to be so uncomfortably full around closing time that I wouldn't try it, personally. The cars are packed so full of people that it is standing room only in many cases, and you can't be sure you'd even be able to see through your companions to catch a glimpse of the fireworks.

They actually stop the monorail during fireworks so you aren't positioned in front of MK, you're actually about 100 yards from the station, not a great view and the sound is muffled.

Get off at the Ticket and Transportation Center and watch from there. That's what a fair number of people did when we were there a week ago.

Yup. You can see the MK fireworks shows very well from the TTC
(and they pipe-in clear, crisp audio from the show.)
Note: you are not allowed to stand directly in the actual Ferry loading area.

The attendant in the TTC loading area was really nice about letting everyone know where they could stand.

Sounds good ..thanks

What Robo says. That is a great spot to watch and hear the music. You are practically looking straight up Main Street so it's not a side view or anything.

What is it gonna be like leaving TTC after fireworks....we head back to pop

If you are on the bus I would probably take the ferry boat over to MK right where you are standing which will likely be very empty and then you will hit the crowds heading out of MK to the buses. If you have a car maybe it's a good day to drive to the park. Then you will just hop a tram to your car and be heading on your way.

Both times we have done this (last time at Poly though) were times we had a car.

If you have to go back to the MK to catch a bus, you might consider instead taking the monorail to Epcot if it's not also time for Illuminations. The buses aren't that far from the monorail there and you could miss the Wishes crowds.

Swamped! But stay behind and linger and it won't be so bad. We did this back in May as we had a Wishes FP. We lingered until there were people but no crowds. Lines were still long at the monorail. But bus lines had shortened and didn't look too bad. I think we spent 30 minutes leaving the park before walking to BLT where we were staying.

If you are watching from the TTC and are parked there, you will be right ahead of the crowd coming from the MK. That's part of what makes it such a great choice.

Are there buses to the resorts from there? We've never needed one there so don't know.

There are no WDW resort buses at TTC.

They all arrive/depart at the MK gates terminal.

Did not know that...thanks

So if you are looking to head back by bus, you would need to take one from MK or Epcot. Given the crowds heading for the buses at the MK, I would personally head for Epcot unless I thought Illuminations was ending around that time.

Illum at 10 as well...good idea tho...I am gonna check for other days. Thank you
